Fix reboot/crash problem after ng6 root

Hi guys, I posted this elsewhere, but hopefully this helps everybody.
After rooting my Verizon SCH-I545 on NG6(I545VRUFNG6), I experienced tons of random crash/reboot issues, and finally found a solution last night!
This requires Xposed Framework to work of course.
Download the Xposed Module- "Samsung KitKat systemserver crash fix". It says it's for a different version but it has stopped every crash/reboot and I'm on the Verizon NG6 update.
The processes that are causing the crash/reboot are the 7 Knox processes. If you would like to remove these, backup your phone, then uninstall all Knox processes with an app like Titanium Backup or a similar app that can delete system apps.

Big thanks to @thomashofmann for the module.
This is my first thread, so let me know what you think!

Any idea how to read the log file, or where it's at. I got two notifications that it stopped the phone from rebooting/crashing. It said it had to do with a Knox process.
Here's the notification.
There is a log feature in Xposed, and you'd just have to look for the details that the notification gave.
Another suggestion for fixing the reboots is to freeze the processes that are causing the crashes, since most of them are Knox related processes.

Freezing is not enough! You must deinstall all seven Knox pieces.

To uninstall them, I'd recommend using something like NoBloat to backup and uninstall them.
Thanks for the tip.

I used Titanium Backup. That's ok too.

Same here. If the reboots are gone I'll let you know tomorrow.
I tried this fix and it seems to help. Three 'modules' appear to still be failing but the patch is at least keeping the fone from rebooting. Can provide additional details (log file) if it would help anyone?
It work for me.... Thw xposed module and delete knox apks from system priv app and then unistall knox apps with root unistaller....
Deleted the 7 knox apps and one com.sec.knox..... also. This has got rid of all reboots.
Used Titanium Backup to delete them.

This also seem to work for me. But what i did is freeze all of them wit the called app quarantine.
Edit: reboots continue to happen. Installed xposed and the samsung Kitkat crashserver fixer and problem fix. Thank u for all the links. Phone seems a lot more stable now.

-I updated the OTA NG6 and experienced the random reboots.
-Emailed the Verizon regional President, rcvd callback within hours, they verified I did the FRB so sent me another phone (Factory Refurb).
-Phone arrived with NC5, s I did the OTA again and got the same random reboots.
-Did the ODIN NC5 kernel. Towelroot, Odin NG6 krenel rooting process successfully.
-installed Titanium Backup, FROZE all files having KNOX.
-So far random reboots have stopped.
Thank you Verizon Executive office of the President Eastern states, but the problem seems very clearly associated with the KNOX software...
This was exactly what I did with the exception of getting a new phone. I froze all Knox apps, but continued to get reboots. Odin back to NC5, root, and has been fine for a week.

Freezing them doesn't work as you found out. If you delete them the reboots go away.
Wrong post sorry
Could someone please list the 7 Knox files to remove in NoBloat? I went through the whole process last week and after deleting every file with "Knox" in it my device was bricked. I had to flash a stock version of NC5 to get it running again, but now Verizon is forcing me to update.

Thanks! I uninstalled exactly as shown in Titanium Backup, powered down, powered back up, and no problems to be seen. I hope it stays that way
My first attempt must have bricked my phone because I just deleted a bunch of files, rather than uninstalling the actual apps. But thanks to the interwebs, I don't have to buy a new phone. Suck on that Verizon/Samsung.
Will simply deleting the KNOX apps in TI backup work or will I need to use the xposed fix as well? I don't have the ability to run nandroid so I got nervous at the prompt xposed gave stating that the device may not boot after it is installed.

Unroot uninstalled apps questions.

Hi, just a quickie, I have my phone rooted and uninstalled the bloatware that comes with it. However now my banking apps don't work, so can I now simply unroot and the uninstalled apps will stay uninstalled and not cause any problems?
I used nobloat to uninstall and backup the apps.
Thanks
Nemo

[Q] Safe to freeze means safe to uninstall?

If an application can be safely frozen, does that mean it can be safely uninstalled as well?
EDIT: More specifically, if I can freeze an app and reboot without bricking, can I uninstall that same app and reboot without bricking?

Most likely. But you are not gaining anything from deleting....

Stock ROM: Root & OTA Updates

My new MOTO G 2015 XT1540 16GB/2GB will be delivered early next week. I have been trying to do all my reading in advance. Ideally I would like to keep the stock ROM, root the device, and keep receiving OTA updates.
My understanding to date is it is possible root without installing (flashing) TWRP. And by fast booting TWRP (vice installing) I can root the phone, keep the stock boot loader, and receive OTA updates as long as I completely unroot the device prior to updating. What is not clear to me is if I can keep receive OTA updates and not break the phone under the following circumstances:
1) custom kernel installed
2) adding apps to the system such as Cerberus (I know it can be elsewhere)
3) adding apps that require root such as Adfree (modifying host file)
4) freezing or removing system apps (bloatware)
Any suggestions how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.
Freezing/adding apps doesn't affect ota's,

Uhh, yes it does, at least sometimes. My last OTA failed until a bug report to Motorola traced it to system apps I had frozen. I don't think it matters now, at least with Titanium and Marshmallow. Many of the system apps I uninstall or freeze come un-frozen after a reboot. All that I uninstall become installed again after a reboot. I don't know if that's a Titanium Backup problem with Marshmallow or what.

So your update simply failed with no ill effect on the phone?
Were you using the stock kernel?

No lasting ill effect. Yes, everything stock. I had previously un-rooted which won't stop the OTA download, just the install. When the install still failed, I had forgotten that I'd frozen some Google apps, Gmail, Play Movies & TV, and Google Play Music. When the OTA kept failing to install, Motorola had me send a bug report. After I unfroze the above apps, the update seemed to go through fine. This had not happened on earlier versions of Android, so I'm thinking something changed or maybe it was just a bug in my software, who knows. You don't get a lot of feedback from Motorola. I think you have a better chance of winning the lottery or getting struck by lightning.

Kingroot adware

Hi, I rooted my phone (Teeno A9 +) with Kingroot.
2 days later, I receive advertisements and popups on my device.
I used a patch to replace Kingroot with Supersu but it does not work.
I uninstalled Kingroot and now I have new applications:
Android Experience, Google Service (only 96 KB), Support, Device Manager
If I try to uninstall these apps, they reinstall themselves automatically after 1 min even if the connection is disabled except google servcice which is reinstalled immediately
I do not know what to do.
I have flashing my phone with the stock firmware and it does not work.

My best suggestion would be to backup all your data and reset your phone. Kingroot is notorious for causing adware, that's why I only use it for old phones I don't care about. Supersu is the only legit root app in my opinion. You could try installing Lookout security from google play store to see if that helps.

not sure if you fixed this, but I would recommend you doing a factory reset on your phone

Lol, if you knew anything about Kingroot, you would know that a factory reset won't do anything because the stuff that Kingroot installs, gets installed to /system, factory reset won't remove anything from /system, not ever.
