Hi guys as the title says i have a question in regards of the safetynet for android 8.1(on sailfish of course) now i try to do my research and not be an ass but found nothing in regards to this. So i recently updated my android 8.0 to 8.1 (through flashfire) and had it inject root i installed busybox and all but noticed I had to reinstall snap and as we all know snap goes through safetynet process, now i installed safetynet test and it actually bypassed? so i did it again to make sure i wasnt seeing things, and it passed again so keep in mind i have root and busybox installed and so i logged into snapchat and it works? so i guess my question to you guys is how is this possible? is it because of beta?

Has anyone installed magisk on g930f and can play the new "buddy" Pokemon Go?
See reply to this post on how I installed magisk on the Exynos galaxy s7 sm-g930f.

Has anyone successfully installed Magisk in order to be able to play Pokémon Go's latest "buddy" version? If so, were you able to both install magisk and then play the new version? Finally, if you did, can you point to a walkthrough on how to do this on the s7? Thanks for any help on this. I did some googling but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for yet.

This sub is so dead. Anyway, I took the leap and installed Magisk myself on my g930f (exynos international s7) and it seems to be working.
First I followed the step by step instructions found at http://androiding.how/install-magisk-universal-systemless-interface-android/ which also include downloads (which are good right now 9-27-2016, you might want to check for updates to the apps and zips if it's been a while when you read this). I flashed magisk v6 via twrp which I already had installed.
I then continued to http://androiding.how/systemless-root-magisk-android/ and installed phh's superuser. I downloaded and installed Magisk manager.
I wanted to automate it for Pokémon Go, so I went to http://androiding.how/download-auto-magisk-automatic-root-toggle-pokemon-go-android-pay/ and downloaded AutoMagisk, which allows you to indicate particular apps for which you want magisk to hide root when you boot them. It appears to be working well.
I have not yet attempted the version of Xposed for Magisk. If and when I do, I will update this post with how I did so, if I do get it working.
If this helps you, please hit the "thanks" so I can see if this was of use to anyone.
With suhide you don't even need to turn root off. Dunno if it works for s7 however. But it's working perfectly well on my old Nexus 5.
Systemless SuperSU + systemless Xposed + suhide
Automatically hides su for googleplayservices effectively making it undetectable for safety net, temporarily however...

Hello and welcome to XDA developers!
If you're on stable branch of magisk try to use the beta version.

I am running rooted 8.1 with magisk on my pixel 2. I am thinking to update to 9.0 (stock rom). Is there any problem that i should know when i root with magisk? Thank you.
No problems that i have noticed. I use viper, YouTube, adaway and other modules without any issues. Hopefully that helps answer your question.
Hey guys, looking for a answer for above question. My phone is rotted with magisk and I constantly get a pop up for a OS update. Is there a way to update quickly without losing root or data on my phone? It won't let me update with magisk installed even though I followed the guide to rooting my device properly the day I did it. Any answer helps, thanks
I've recently encountered a problem. I rooted My Pixel 3a when it had stock Android 10 and passed the SafetyNet checks.
I then upgraded to stock Android 11 (RP1A.201005.004, Oct 2020) and re-rooted. However, the Magisk SafetyNet check now reports as 'attestation failed'. basicIntegrity passes but ctsProfile now fails (evalType HARDWARE).
Can anyone help in identifying the problem and how to resolve it?

You have to use magiskhide props module. See its XDA thread.

Thanks very much for that - I did try that but it didn't work for me - went on a few searches and this module I found elsewhere on here did work.
I just flashed it and my cts profile passes - there some interesting posts round it as well:

Hey, I hate to steal the thread, but I wanted to ask if either of you would please upload a copy of the Magisk patched boot image file that you used. The ones that I have been generating using MM 8.0.2 and the latest sargo factory boot image have consistently failed to boot for me and I would like an image that has been proven to work. I would greatly appreciate you help!
UPDATE
Thanks for the file! It worked for me.

THANKS!!! I recently ran into this issue and have tried the modules and changes through terminal, unrooting, flashing complete stock, but the only thing that worked was locking the bootloader. Once I had my 3a wiped and back to stock, I kept experimenting and located your fix. Magisk (cts profile) still won't pass safety net, but GPay works again (at least I could re-add cards without an error message--haven't tried to use it at a pay terminal yet) which was the whole point. I hope it's long-lasting. I can't believe more people aren't running into this issue.
@largeruk @captain sideways
Just to clarify, this is not an Android 10 or 11 issue. Newer (starting around October 22) versions of Google Play Services changed how SafetyNet works and ctsProfile fails with evalType HARDWARE.
The "Hardware Off" module no longer fixes the ctsProfile failure. I have seen mention of a new module here, but I'm not sure I trust the source: https://droidholic.com/safetynet-cts-profile-failed-fix/
Anyone have updates on this issue with the latest February Android 11 release?
