Hi,
I got a pair of ANC USB-C earphones, but the usb audio on my phone has been not working since I updated OREO (the sound comes from the speaker rather than from the earphones).
I've tried switching 'disable USB audio routing' in dev options, but it still doesn't work.
Any solution to this?:crying:
Thanks.

Try Soudabout app from Google play store. Try forcing the audio output through Dock.

Try audio router app. That one seems to support Oreo.

D6603 here running stock unrooted Sony lollipop update. Every time I connect my USB DAC all I get is horrible static. One of the features I was looking for in lollipop is USB audio which works great on the nexus 6.
Anyone else have issues with USB audio?

Can you check if you have the Hi-res audio via USB feature/option present in audio settings or Accessory settings under sound & notification ? Asking this bcoz after flashing to lolipop in my D6603 i dont see that option. So that could be the reason for horrible sound.
Thanks
Kishore.

Hey there, hopefully someone can offer some insight here. I just recently got a Mate 8 and something that I did frequently with the Note 4 I had before was play audio in the car via the usb connection to my stereo. I am not able to do this with the Mate 8.
It ACTS like it's playing audio, but there's just no sound coming from the stereo or from the phones speakers. I can still change songs and play/pause it via the car stereo controls, however, which is also weird. In the developer usb options it's listed as "Audio Source", and trying to choose a mode for file transfer from the notification just causes USB to disconnect and reconnect and go back to not having anything selected. It didnt work on unrooted, unmodified, stock firmware (chinese B156), and it still doesnt work after I fully wiped all data and flashed a custom rom (KangVIP Slim).
Any ideas? Has anyone else successfully played audio over usb with their mate 8? Thanks guys.
What head unit do you own?

I own a Kenwood Excelon DPX791BH. It has two modes, one which plays local files using its android app and displays the song info on the unit and one which just plays back any audio from the phone at all, both do the exact same thing (act like they're playing, and respond to controls from the unit.) Interestingly, in the file playback mode the current time indicator on the head unit seems to run through the file at double speed. It happens with any audio, notifications or Spotify or local files, etc.
Have you tried with USB debug ON or OFF?

Yeah, I've tried both, it doesn't change anything. It still acts the same way.
Where are stored your audio files? Internal memory or microSD?

the main thing i use it for is just the routing audio mode, which is independent of the location of the files. It basically functions like how a pair of headphones would if you connected it to the headphone jack and plays any audio that is produced by the phone. I've tried playing audio from the SD card and internal storage, however.
Have you tried the Mate 8 USB connection mode as MTP?

yeah, as I said in the initial post selecting either of the two USB connection options from the notification, MTP or PTP, causes the device to quickly disconnect and reconnect with neither selected.
Maybe there is an incompatibility with Android 6.
If you can you could try to connect another Android 6 smartphone.

That's what I was thinking is possible, but I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem. Has anyone used USB audio on the huawei mate 8 or any other android 6 phone? The only other phone I have is my old note 4 and that doesn't have android 6 on it.

The compatibility problem might reside in your car stereo, you might find other users of your same unit to contact on a Kenwood car stereo dedicated forum.

If anyone else can confirm audio out via USB is possible on the mate 8, then that would be the next step, as the head unit has worked with other phones in the past, and still works with my note 4. Right now asking here seems like the best idea. Hopefully someone can confirm or deny usb audio out is a possibility with the mate 8

Under developer options there's a setting to enable USB audio source. The toggle is under network then select USB configuration. Not sure if this will help but worth a shot

Anybody else try this new Pixel 2 phone with AOA compatible stereo?
I cannot get sound to work with my JVC stereo with this new phone.
My old Pixel phone works just fine though as well as every other Android device with AOA support in the past.
https://source.android.com/devices/accessories/protocol
Couldn't get mine to work. Just found the "Audio Out" setting for USB in developer options and have been meaning to try it though.
After Android 8.1 update, Looks like its working again for controls and reporting song info but AOA sound is not working. The audio stays on the phone playing out of its speaker and not through the accessory it is attached to

Hey, any info? Does it work now?
If you got the Nokia 7.2 recently and have some bugs that need to be fixed, please mention them on this thread so that other users can make use of it as well!
COMMON BUGS AND FIXES
1. "Hey Google" doesn't work, Google keeps crashing/ not responding.
FIX:
Go to Google App -> Clear cache and app data. This should reset it, and if all goes well, your phone should now have a proper Google Assistant. (Believed to have been caused by improper Google app being shipped by HMD)
2. Dark mode for certain apps and system can be enabled by going to Settings -> About phone->Tap on "Build Number" until Developer options are unlocked
Developer options (under Advanced section in system)-> Night Mode -> Always on.
Afterwards, Instagram will have dark mode enabled by default.
Reserved #1
Reserved #2
Reserved #3
The Night mode option in the stock camera app takes less clear and darker pictures than the regular photo mode. Both modes cannot match the Pixel's camera in terms of clarity and brightness in low light.
The Assistant page does not allow another assistant to be selected. Even after installing, picking and confirming an alternate assistant, Google Assistant remains selected as the default assistant.
Andoid Auto Keeps Crashing the phone
USB C car charger keeps crashing the phone
bluetooth volume is terrible
Google assistant doesn't work... Have to repeat 'hey google' dozens of times to get it to work
There might be an issue with your device because the assistant is working fine for me. Try the speaker in other applications.

Hi. I have had a 8t 5g for about a month now. Just got a pair of bluetooth headphones (Sennheiser 4.50btnc) and when i go to pair them they dont show up. I have paired them w my PC and they work. When Im in my bluetooth audio codec settings I can see the aptX options and a few others listed but they are all greyed. Am i missing something?
Try clearing the system cache and a network reset.
Androids are notorious for hidden, I mean, advanced settings. Double check to make sure they are correct.
Try enabling Developer options as well for more settings.
I have dev settings on, that's how i was able to see all the codecs and settings I think. Clearing the "system cache"?

Google it for that device. It's either on the boot menu or in advanced settings.
Good to do if having issues or after installing or uninstalling apps, updates.

done. Cache wiped. Network reset. all options for codec still greyed out. I noticed also that the button for HD audio is turned off and greyed out as well.

Try SBC first, that should work with all bt audio devices. Try toggling the earbuds off/on.
Does the phone "see" them?
Will it work on calls?
Is there an app that comes with that bt device or one on that phone?

All codecs including SBC are greyed out, SBC, AAC, Qualcomm aptX +hd audio, adaptive X, aptX tws. "Use system selection" is on by default. Ive turned off the haedphones and back on several times. they show up immediatley on my PC's bluetooth, and work just fine just not on the 8t. frustrating.
so my phone works on the bluetooth in my car using SBC driver. The phone itself displays plenty of driver codecs in the bluetooth settings. The headphones in question (Sennheiser 4.50btnc) only work on my PC and not my phone but 2 other bluetooth earbud devices worked fine on my phone other than the crappy blutooth lag which is why I looked for headphones w aptX. Im inclined to think that because these headphones are "refubished" that this pair is just Janky. Need to return them.

Update their firmware... if possible.
Or return them if easier.
it's normal for these options to be greyed out. the system will always choose the best codec for you.

You should verify with a different app that they're not being used. Even when they're not grayed out you still can't change them
