Picture in Picture only works on YouTube if you have a YouTube Red subscription. There was a bypass though. Try to open Google Chrome and then access YouTube from there. Try If PiP works.

i Trued it with chrome, but still is not working
No, you're not working. The way PiP mode works for Chrome goes like this: You go fullscreen on a video, then press the multitasking button, not the home button, and the video should automatically transform to a window while the app shows up on your multitasking screen. The same applies for YouTube(provided you have YouTube Red), and Google Maps(you have to be navigating to somewhere then press the multitasking button).

I know that I can take a photo, HDR photo, multiple photos with volume buttons in camera app. Can I shoot a video using those buttons? Would help if I'm in gloves.

Insatlled the app, you were right - it records a video with a volume button. But you still need to switch to video mode to make this happen. So it still can't be done if I'm in gloves.

there are many apps available in market to make quick shortcuts of app activities (quick shortcut maker), and you can also create an activity shortcut of camcorder in nova launcher. but you still have to click on screen to open it

Is there a mod or way to get other apps playing video content to 'fill the screen' ... i.e. crop to fit.
Not make app full screen from multitasking or allow apps full screen settings ... I mean like YouTube has a floating crop button to fill the display with the content? ?

On both Amazon prime video and Netflix there's an option to fill the screen. Not exactly the same and sometimes you have to press it a few times but it does work.
Also in display settings you can choose which apps to make full screen. I toggled them all.
I tested Android Oreo's pip and it works for some apps. And since many are saying that it doesn't work, I'll add some screenshots to show that its working. It worked for me with VLC, Video Calling(whatsapp, Duo), Chrome & web Youtube.
For Youtube you need to click on "desktop site" in chrome then play any video in full screen after that press home screen, it'll work.
For VLC, open any video in full screen, click options and select Pip icon and press home screen. As for video calling, it works with Whatsapp video call and Duo.

Also, for PIP to work with the YouTube app, you need to have a YouTube Red subscription.
Not all apps support PiP. To check which app supports PiP go Settings > Apps & notifications > Advanced > Special App Access > Picture in Picture

Because you probably don't have Youtube Red.
Look for IYTBP YouTube app on XDA. There are rootless versions. Install them so you can use it with PiP without YouTube Red.

I currently use my G6+ to do all my video recording work for my YouTube channel. I fell in love with the snap movie mode in the video camera options because it let me record snippets throughout the day and save them all into a short video file so later I can edit on my computer. I have searched and searched and cannot find an app in the play store that can do this. Almost all video apps can record and pause but the moment you close the app or go to home screen or screen off, the current video is automatically saved as a video file and next time you use the app it starts a new video. I don't want 70 different video clips to edit each day, I want an app that can start and stop at the press of a button and keep those recordings in the same video timeline until I am finished to where I can then save as a final video. I really would like to upgrade to the G7 or V35 but from what I understand the snap movie feature was removed.
My reason for using LG phones is the wide angle camera and Snap Movie.
Is it possible to get this feature back with a newer device? Anyone know of an app that can do what I am asking?
Thanks again for the help!
Hello everyone,
I just recently switched from a HTC U11 to this wonderful MI 10 Pro and I couldn't be happier.
There's just one little thing that I realized and I don't know where I did something wrong in my settings or if it's a ROM issue.
Whenever I watch a Video in full screen, the phone kinda cuts off the sides (probably to fit in the full screen instead of putting a black bar over/under the video).
I find this quite annoying because I'm sometimes missing out on important information that's sometimes written on the screen.
This happens with all apps I tried (Instagram/IGTV, YouTube and Kiwi Browser).
Have you experienced that behavior before and how did you solve it?
I attached a Screenshot on how it actually looks like.
EDIT: I'm on MIUI Global 11.0.10.0
Have you tried pinch to zoom out?

Pinch to zoom only works on YouTube and only on horizontal videos. Not working on Instagram at all, Browser at all or on vertical videos on YouTube ?
Are there any settings somewher in the system that I need to check?
