Wrong forum, and that thread is months old. No offence to the OP, but being able to build a ROM is far from being able to fix bugs in one. We have experienced devs here already who are working on Oreo.
I'm running Oreo on my Nexus 6 and 99% of the time I could just as easily be in Nougat. It's nothing to get excited about. I'm sure we'll have a build up very soon.

Ok,

Nougat for Honor 6?

Hi guys!
I used to have a Y635 but I decided to change to this model . I can't believe there is no more rom for this phone that is clearly better and that no one is working on a Nougat rom when it already exist for the Y635.
Is this really true? :crying:
I am working on it but not near completed at all.
I didn't even get it to boot yet, in fact just started a week ago.
Will try to post first public beta by 15th February.
Psst, I'm working on MM right now, not nougat, but if it works moving to nougat shouldnt be hard.
This sounds good! :good:

Pure MM? Rly? How it goes?
CyanogenMod.
I am not completely free on it and I just recently started... To show you how very early i am, I still gotta build the recovery first. (Last time I built it, it wasn't booting.. ) don't know why though, will debug it later and fix it.
(Note that this is my first port so I am still getting the hang of the things)
Will create a thread once I get the ROM itself boot first time
Don't expect that soon though

Check that, they are building aosp MM from Mate 7 aosp mm sources. It's working, but it's buggy.
no likely bro.. honor have abandoned even newer phones than honor 6, like 5x and honor 7.. so , its highly unlikely to happen
very happy to know that custom rom development is happening..
but i heard somewhere that in china, a similar device to honor 6 is running emui5.. who knows? it might come

Not yet tbh, the recovery did work but can't seem to get it boot
I only work in weekends, so that's why it's pretty slow.. so I don't know if I will ever get it to work before losing hope and giving up.
I will try to pm some professionals and get some help from them. And also will try forking the mate 7 ROM and modify it for honor 6, I think will be easier and faster.

Good nougat roms for 36603 Xperia Z5?

First off, as always on any forum I'm ever on, I have no idea what section this thread should be in... So if it shouldn't be in general, please let me know. Now to business! I have my Xperia Z5 rooted, running 32.3.A.0.376, with sceryavuz's patch. Anyway I wanted to flash a new rom, so I wanted some suggestions. The three most important aspects of a rom to me are it's camera, it's customization, so substratum support would be nice, and battery life. I was looking at a lot of roms, but I really don't know which to pick... Anyone know of a good stable rom, that would somewhat fit what I'm looking for? Or any cool roms in progress that may be released soon? Also any comments on what roms you guys are using, and why you choose that rom would be nice. Thanks. -Spynathan
There is no stable nougat for our Xperia z5 as of now.. Stock nougat is only stable.. No official lineage.. Carbon rom has also some bugs

Yeah I figured, Nougat's still fresh to the Z5 so I reckon it's a bit of a waiting game for awhile.. Well thanks for the reply, I'll probably keep an eye around for when a stable rom comes out.

Please do tell me how it goes! Also what model do you have? I have an e6603, seems to be hard to find roms for it.
No fingerprint scanners and the network speed under settings does nothing. That's the bug I noticed. Now will b back to stock for sake of camera

This - a question - belongs in Q&A section (question & answer).
You can find a description of each forum section at the corresponding section, so if u read it first next time u know how to find right section.
For now, you can open your post in a browser and hit the "!" triangle underneath your post to request a thread movement. (I could do it too but I'm explaining to you so u can yourself)
Let me know if you have troubles moving your thread

I would also like this done as well.

I'm 2 waiting
Same here
I did not expect this much positive response. But we still dont know if someone is able to port this ROM to our device. It would be kind of you if the developer would gave us a little insight on the development of this ROM for P2.
This is my opinion that ROMs like ResurrectionRemix offer high customizability but most people will still go towards minimalism. I have never used this ROM even on my older phone (Lenovo A6000). It would be great to have a top ROM for our phones.
Can anyone at least tell me the situation of our phone here. Are there no devs or are they working on something. Or is it because of our device?
My god.. read thru the threads no?

If what u are saying is true . Most custom roms are based on LOS. So that means the build will lead to more custom roms.

Here is the work of sir Mike ( Michael bestas) https://review.lineageos.org/#/q/Lenovo
I don't think will be a lenovo p2's paranoid android any time soon, at this time most of the "cool" feature are avaible only for the official supported device
A pa porting for lenovo p2 it's more or less stock android
Maybe donating the device at the team can change something

Lenovo p2 Rom requires mokee Rom

Lenovo p2 mokee Rom should make. Please develop this Rom. This Rom gives mostly stable and regular weekly updates
*reporting thread*
Why? U r the only 1 requesting it! And i can't agree that our device requires any particular custom rom. We r lucky to have more than 1 up to date custom Nougat Rom to choose from. I dont know what u miss from other roms but maybe xposed can help u out since it went official for nougat 3 days ago.
ban this clown

Brother I'm not here to hurt anyone of you. My aim is to get most stable and bugs less Rom and mokee rom is officially the best for us. We are here to change test in the Rom section

Android Go :V

There is still any dev for janice? :silly:
As some of u know, Google is going to release Android Go based on 8.0/8.1 which should work fine on 0,5GB devices, maybe second life for janice?

I think Janice still have some devs on, there was someone working on a 7.1 ROM, maybe we can have hope

I understand, don't worry. :good:
I am disposed to take part in the collect, considering how much as now an s advance costs, wouldn't be so hard to get quickly the money and with very little effort for all.
I think that is a good idea and can really give a new life to our device.
Obviously a spare s advance of a willing and generous user would be the best thing we can hope in, but seems really hard to happen, however, my hope isn't died yet
Maybe on weekend i'll look into what changes are needed to run atleast nougat on it (from source), if this'll work then we'll think about Oreo xD

If you're really interested, I'd suggest to look at the Oreo rom of Chrono:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace/ace-2-develop/rom-lineageos-15-0-t3678722
and to look at the Chrono Kernel (compatible with janice but with some bugs):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...tom-kernel-t2793420/post74179403#post74179403
Ace II has the same chip of S Advance (with some code differences) and the dev is very helpful to explain how it works.
Two guys in the same project would be better than one guy on a single project.
As far as I know @sm_adil doesn't reply to any PM and Epirex is busy on his Moto phone.

Yes I agree two or more dev contributing to the same project will be good!!
However if you consider me as fully fledged dev you're wrong I'm more of web developer than android or java. I did build couple of kernel's for testing my skills but than again they were not so stable and I didn't had time to debug it!!
So yeah if get the time I do want to build a ROM for Janice :fingers-crossed:
I've got a Janice right here that I don't use. I'm actually looking right now for a way to root it and install whatever superior than the Gingerbread ROM it currently has, but the point is that it's available for testing purposes. Btw, is it possible to leave a phone number here?

Hi Isaak,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S Advance. I have been looking if anyone developing Android Go support for it. Found your post on the thread, https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s-advance/general/android-t3714953/page2
I want to learn how roms are built and I would like to support in developing Android Go rom for S Advance, if possible. Can you please guide me where I can start?
As per my experience, I have built a modified linux kernel with some modified device drivers and was able to boot it with a debian root filesystem on Freescale SabreLite board. But never built an android rom earlier.
Thanks

You could start from one of these tutorials:
https://nathanpfry.com/category/android/
I'm not good at compiling, I tried it and didn't like it. So I can't help you more than that.
For this reason, with the help of some xda users, I have donated a S Advance to @ChronoMonochrome.
Currently he's actively developing a new kernel and a new rom in this section:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s-advance/development
I think we could expect more roms with higher android versions, so your feedback is important.
