Would be better to ask them to rebrand it back again to the original firmware.

Emui b316-b317

Hi. I’ve got Honor 6 H60-L12. System 4.4.2 and EMUI 3.0
Recently I’ve got information that a can upgrade EMUI B316 to B 317.
Did anybody did it? Any major changes?
I wasn’t happy after previous upgrade, graphics are worse now.
While having new B317is it still possible to record incoming calls?

Why don't you go straight to official Emui 3.1 by manual update? There is still the recording feature in Lollipop...so you will not loose it.
I upgrade my phone to B317 but didn't see any changes at all. I think that it changed the icons of google apps but I am not sure

Hi giboz. I would like to go for official 3.1 update, but so far I've got notification only about Emui update. I'm not sure how to do it
My model is H60 L-12 is this update available also for this model?
If I will go for system update do I have to make back up? If yes how can I do it safe, I don’t like to have back up in the cloud.

Would it be possible to have EMUI 5.0 on Marshmallow?

Hello,
This idea just stroke me while waiting for the Nougat update...
I, and certainly most of us here, are not interested in Android 7.0 more than we're interested in the new EMUI (I can't wait to change that ugly notification panel).
So the idea here is to port EMUI 5 to Marshmallow to take advantage of the nice UI along with the compatibility of Android 6.0 with root, Xposed and so on...
What do you guys think of the idea? And do you think it is feasible?
Peace!
You can get it now and its rather very simple. "Just for your information, it's easier to upgrade to nougat using this method through the Huawei Firmware Finder Android app. I did it without going through all the trouble of rooting.

Lol I don't think you understand what op was suggesting.
I think you are confused.... EMUI 5 is another name for Nougat for huawei honor phones(correct me if i'm wrong) same for EMUI 4 for Marshmallow. I think you are looking for theming your EMUI 4 to look like EMUI5 via xposed or whatever else is available

I get you, however it all depends on how coupled is EMUI to Android version. If like you said, they're tightly coupled, then there is no way to port the EMUI 5 to MM.
The final goal is indeed getting rid of the ugly EMUI4.1.
Thanks for stopping by :good:

Well considering EMUI is simply a skin built upon Android 7.0, I'd imagine 6.0 doesn't have some of the functions that EMUI 5.0 would call to. Thus, it would be an extreme effort to port the EMUI 5.0 skin to Marshmallow. Without source it's impossible. It really isn't even worth the amount of time it would take to reverse engineer and try to implement the functionality of Android 7.0 onto 6.0. I'd imagine the end result would be exactly like 7.0 but extremely buggy and missing functionality.

I think you should contact the customer service of the device manufacture, samsung, to check when it will push Android 7.0 via OTA. In fact, so many manufactures have pushed Android 8.0 for their customers till now.

That's tough to answer.....it's all a manner of opinion really. I had slightly better SOT though in emui 5 (since its running Android Nougat) where as emui 8 us Android Oreo. Truthfully I flashed an AOSP ROM after I upgraded to emui 8 because once you go to emui 8 / Android Oreo, it enables treble support. I'm not a big fan of emui in the first place though. However, the AOSP ROM's are newer so they are still wip when it comes to working 100% for the huawei mate 9.
May I ask what custom ROM you are using? And how do you find it? What's your SOT?

Download firmware from http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/ (if available) and unpack update.app from update.zip
Open update.app in Huawei Update Extractor and extract ramdisk.img, this is the boot image file that magisk manager needs to patch.

Okay... Sorry for the delay.
You'll obviously have to go back to stock first. And then hisuite should work to upgrade to Oreo. Just trying to think what the best way to return to stock would be for your model version and get you upgraded to Oreo.
i see this requires Microsoft Windows. i only have Linux. any suggestions?

Too late... unless you've got a bootloader unlock code before July 24. Did you? I'll guess not, hence...no root for you, enjoy GPU Turbo and Pie (whenever that comes).

I asked this too a week or so back and the general consensus is it can't be done, the rollback files that Oppo provided were for only rolling back from the early Android 11 beta versions.
There is only one way, let oppo service center downgrade for you.
You must send it to center.
Downgrade need permission first, then use an account login to a tool...
