Not sure if anyeone has posted this before. I found a way (from china) to change the phone image version, in order to prevent the error 140: bootloader version error that would occur when installing an inappropriate version of hTC RUU. I made a flashable to do that automatically.
down_version-signed.zip:
will backup the misc partition to /sdcard/misc.img if not exist
change the phone image version to the content of /sdcard/new_region_version.txt if available, or *.1.*.*(format as original pattern) when it is not.
restore_version-signed.zip:
will restore /sdcard/misc.img to the phone.
Actually, this one is not necessary. Just to give you guys one more option.
Installation:
root your phone and install a custom recovery (eg. ClockworkMod) if you have not done that yet
save the zip file in sd card
save a new_region_version.txt in sd card if you want to set a specific region version
boot your phone in recovery mode
install zip from sdcard
reboot system
an example of new_region_version.txt
Code:
1.01.708.4
It will work for downgrading phone image version (*.*.*.*) and even changing the region version (*.*.*.*).
One more thing,
Please DO NOT install RUU over models!
For example, DO NOT install an Aria RUU on a Legend.
I'm pretty sure that will brick the phone.
update:
Currently the version pattern can only be *.**.***.*
Let me know if there is any others. I'll fix that.
Now it should work for all sort of version pattern, such as *.**.***.* ; *.**.****.* ; *.**.***.** ; etc...
down_version_r3: bug fixed - when new_region_version.txt contains invalid content, phone image version will become blank.
someone told me that he can install an Asia-TW Aria RUU on an Optus-AU Aria, so it works on different region by setting RUU image version in /sdcard/new_region_version.txt
so will this change my canadian virgin legend to unbranded legend so i can install the official htc froyo for unbranded phones? can you specify a new CID that the phone will have?
has anyone tried this?
what happens, if i don´t put a new_region_version.txt on sd card?

According to the first message, if there is no new_region_version.txt, the tool will restore the original pattern.
ok, than I understood this right.
would be best option i think.
Can't do anything with the zip archive.
Do I need to rename it update.zip (Well I try it didn't work) ?
Di I need to do something in particular ? like being root or something ?
hm, tried ,too, but i cant even get the bootloader started with the files on sd card.
all i get is the dam red triangle...
Your phones have to be rooted and have a custom recovery installed. Otherwise you won't be able to flash the zip file.
Sorry, I didn't make it clear.
I'm not sure which region is currently able to receive the froyo update. I presume that's WWE. For that region, the code would be 405. So you should put 1.01.405.1 in new_region_version.txt. Then flash the zip in your rooted Legend's custom recovery mode. After that, reboot your phone in Fastboot bootloader by either `adb reboot bootloader` or press volume down and power buttons at the same time and then select fastboot. When it shows "fastboot usb plugged", install any WWE version of Legend RUU that could be found in Shipped ROMs. If it succeed, you will have a stock unrooted WWE rom on your phone and ready to receive OTA.
it works
labadios you gem!
finally installed an RUU - the WWE Buzz 1.14 etc
first time without errors as well
cheers
just booted phone up - took a while at HTC screen and when it asked for my PIN touch screen wouldn't work :s
quite worried now - any comments gratefully appreciated.
Just wanted to say THANK YOU for finding this fix.
I had the issue of not being able to run the 2.27.651.6 RUU due to my boot loader being a newer version.
Once I applied your .zip, I was able to successfully run the RUU and get back to my stock image. I was using Fresh's 2.1 image which was great. But I needed to get back to stock as I'm planning to trade it in for an EVO!
thanks a lot for this patch, now i can use ruu setup
Which model is this for?..... Can I run it on my HTC magic???.....
I have the 140 error, too...
When flashing this zip file, I got this error:

I get same error as this guy
For the few days ive been trying to get the OTA to install correctly.
I have seen other people talking about this, and i have tried all i could find about this problem.I
m not sure if im posting this in the correct place, sorry if nok!
I did find out its because of the used custom recovery that it wont install.
So using the allinone tool i put the stock recovery on, i believe with succes.
And i had also installed the ota rootkeeper app (not sure why)
But the OTA keeps on reporting errors when installing
assert failed apply patch check /system/app/phonesky.odex (long numbers)
E: error in internal sdcard/download/ota-ville u htc europe 1784012-1.53401.2 release-numberrapskwje.zip

I tried (in stock recoverymode) installing a zipfile i found somewhere which was the 1.78..update (I think) but that also gave errors, i cant find a ruu for 1.78, so cant try that.
Is there a complete list of things you have to do to get this update? and if so can someone help, thanks.

Retry to install Rootkeeper or u can do it later
Use this tool: [TOOL] HTC One S All-In-One Toolkit V1.0 (find at Android Development). Boot to fastboot mode then reflash the "STOCK RECOVERY"
After that go to Setting-About-Software Update and install it with the choice "install now".u get it.
if u didn't use RootKepper, just re-root again with the same tool.
Have Fun.
After that go to Setting-About-Software Update and install it with the choice "install now".u get it.
Thanks, but I dont undersstand your answer.
Are you saying to : do the OTA update just after flashing the stock recovery?
Thats exactly what i did.
That was exactly what i did too.
so u can try re-flash the shipp Rom at "[ROM]Ville Shipped ROM Collection" (Thread of Football, at Development).then do it again.
Coz i think the Problem is at ur Stock Recovery.mb there is smth not right there...
i did exactly what i wrote and it worked for me.
Good luck!
Ok, i will try :
using the europe 1.53 ruu(from post from "Football")
then use the all_in_one tool to put the stock-recovery back again
then try the OTA again
i will let you know later on,..thank you
I ran the europe 1.53 ruu(from post from "Football")
After a while it said error 155 image update error, get correct image
I still have no idea how to get the 1.78 update,
Can anyone help please?
=====> Never mind, luckily today football released a 1.78 basis rom which does work for me
Good evening/morning all
Just grabbed this new OTA from my One S so i thought i would make an appearance... And before anyone asks, yes - I am working on a ROM
OTA_Ville_U_HTC_Europe_1.78.401.2-1.53.401.2
Please note: This OTA takes you from 1.53.401.2 to 1.78.401.2
Change log from the updater service (rather vague):
System enhancment
Enjoy
P.S > Had no time to analyse the actual content but the OTA contains full firmware updates including HBoot & Radio.
Edit: Just noticed paul has done a repack of the base already.. may still come in handy for you devs out there
I knew you would come just like I asked for and others.
Thanks Lee.
If you can work on a T-Mobile ROM/EU ROM.

woohoo !! about time you made an appearance !! I knew you was hanging around here somewhere
missed you since i left the sensation forums
I know this is probably a really stupid question but I'm going to ask anyway...
Can you actually install an OTA package on the phone somehow or is it just useful to take files out of it?
And the other question, my phone doesn't find any OTA updates anymore since I've 'tampered' with it so is there a way to make it find and install the OTA updates again?
Thanks
As long as you are using the correct stock ruu you can apply it via cwm recovery(unlock needed )... to restore full functionality its best to flash the stock RUU

The other thing is that when I try installing the stock RUU it's telling me it's for the wrong device or something like that, although it's definitelly the correct RUU.
Also, my phone is HTCDev unlocked but is still S-ON so if I install the OTA package usign CWM is it going to update the radio and the hboot (I thought it can't do that if you're S-ON)?
Thanks
you dont install it via CWM, you install it via the stock recovery.. of which you will first need to flash..
Did'nt work for me, wrong CID...

Ok, maybe I'm not getting this right but I'm talking about two separate things:
Issue 1. My understanding is that I can install the OTA zip package using ClockworkMod, is that correct?
Issue 2. The RUU package won't install on my phone:
i) I have restored via ClockworkMod the nandroid image of the stock ROM (image that I've taken straight after I unlocked the boot loader and flashed a custom recovery, but before I rooted the phone). Then, I flashed the stock recovery image using fastboot. So now my phone should be back to stock.
ii) I then tried to install RUU_Ville_U_HTC_Europe_1.53.401.2_Radio_0.15.31501S.19_10.12.31501S.06L_release_251412_signed.exe
When I do this, the RUU goes through right up to the step where it says 'Updating signatures' and then it stops saying 'unknown error' and it leaves my phone on that screen with black background and white HTC logo. Then, I have to hard boot and the phone starts up fine but in the state it was before the RUU - not even the user data is missing. To me this means that for some reason it doesn't even try to flash the RUU onto the phone but it stops when checking the signatures - I just can't understand why this is happening...
Can you help?
Thanks
1. No you cannot flash anything official from HTC using CWM, you MUST use stock recovery. You can find stock recovery in the OTA zip file, It will be named recovery.img OR recovery_signed.img
2. Unknown error is hard to diagnose, Normally we get error codes which we can identify as to what the problem is.. Are you running the RUU in fastboot ?

Sorry for my ignorance, but how do I initiate the installation of the OTA zip package using the stock recovery? As I said, I can't actually get it 'over the air' but I've just downloaded the zip package from this thread...
ok put the package on your sd card.
boot into fastboot, flash the stock recovery using the command ''fastboot flash recovery recovery.img'' (or recovery_signed.img) (also no quotes)
when thats done, select recovery from fastboot using volume button..
When you get a red ! press volume UP and power button, That will take you into stock recovery
Then look for the option, install from sd card or something like that
select your OTA package and BOOM !!! job done
Reflash CWM and away you go
Damn... I had no idea that you can actually get into the menu of the stock recovery... It all makes sense now...
me neither till about 3 days ago
I might not seem like a noob,,,,,but deep down i am

I've tried that again and it actually breaks down when it gets to 'Checking Header...' and it exits with 'ERROR [155]: UNKNOWN ERROR". Maybe this is a bit more specific...
this is what i found for error 155
ERROR [155~159]: IMAGE ERROR
One of these error messages will appear when you use the incorrect RUU to update and the image file size is larger than the Flash ROM size. In this case, download the correct RUU version and try again.
Alternatively (in some cases) right click on the file and choose "Run as Administrator".
Or use the rom.zip -> PGXXIMG.zip flashing method.

I dont know if it will fail when flashing the rom.zip in CWM - usually you have to rename it to the model number and flash in fastboot, however you cant do this with S-ON
I have a Rooted and s off HTC one Sv from Boost mobile. I can download the OTA for Sense 5 and 4.2.2 but when I try to install it it cancels and says something like cant get ro.products.build = k2cl.. and something else ...
Im new to all of this, but Im really good with following a step by step guide if there is something I can read to fix this issue.
Im just trying to get the latest software available for this phone. And also if there is a way to edit the build.prop on this phone to make it run faster and increase the network speed too. that would be amazing. I have yet to find anything for this phon
Well, for boost mobile you can use a Ruu which they released for the latest available Software.
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...V_NV_Boost_2.20_150_release_389346_signed.exe
This will delete all of your data and your bootloader must be locked, if you are S-on (only as an info, in case you have unlocked at htcdev.com to gain root access).
Hi. Thanks.
So I need to turn the bootloader off and switch S off back to S on?
I dont remember what software I used to root it, it was on my other computer that got stolen.
How would I go about locking the bootloader? And turning the S back on? And once successful in getting the update will I be able to root it again?
Is there any other better roms I can flash on it now that is better? I would love to have KitKat on here if possible.. But as of now I know that cyanogen mod isnt supporting this device and all I know to do is update it to 4.2.2 with sense 5, if I could just figure out how.
Sorry for all the questions.
Last question is... I seen build.prop editing possiblities to be able to speed up 4g, 3g, and 2g networks speeds and even to bypass network caps, but no guides for htc one sv for boost. Are there any that I can be directed to to edit the build.prop to achieve this?
Don't know about boost specific tweaks.
Also there are no custom roms available for boost.
You are S-off, you didn't mention. But thats good! Don't go S-on, and no need to relock bootloader in this case, as far as i remember.
Backup everything you need, connect your device to your pc and run the Ruu. It will bring you to the latest software for your phone.
Ive been trying over and over to get the Ruu to work and I followed the instructions properly. And even deleted it and downloaded it again.
It keeps saying : Error 170 USB Connection Error. And wants me to check the USB sync cable or my connection to the PC.
But Both my cables work fine and my computer is new and nothing wrong with it. I am able to use my USB to Tether app just fine and im able to copy and paste to and from my phone and able to use HTC Sync manager too. SO Idk what the deal is.
Maybe some specifics about my setup may help.
My computer is an HP Envy Sleekbook with 8g of ram and i5 processor running windows 8.1 64bit.
My phone is the Boost mobiles version HTC One SV C525c with these details:
Android Version: 4.1.2
Sense: 4
Software number: 2.06.653.6 710RD
HTC SDK API: 4.65
HTC Extension Version: HTC Extension_Sense45_12
Kernel Version: [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
Build Number: 2.06.653.6 CL209682 release-keys
I dont know if that helps with my situation but just in case I added it.
Thank you and I appreciate the help
Do a research on google with "htc ruu error 170".
You will get many results, like this:

No matter what I do nothing seems to be helping
I have been googling for days. And been at it for hours today trying to figure this out.
I really just need a step by step guide. I dont understand this stuff.
So far, I downloaded and unistalled and reinstalled drivers for windows 8.1. I downloaded adb drivers and fastboot.
I tried to use RUU by going into Fastboot usb. I even tried to download the OTA update and then manipulate the update-script by deleting all the assert checks to stop getting the getprop errors. But still didnt work.
IDK what to do all I want to do is have my phone back to normal again and to be able to update it to the newest software version. Its annoying to see the update available notification in my tray and I cant do anything about it.
The closest I got so far was switching to the windows 7 computer and turning off the developer options menu. But then RUU starts to work but then stops at HTC fastboot.exe has stopped working. Im stuck.
Some more information about my phone just in case its helpful. :
Moonshine S-OFF
K2_CL PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
CID-SPCS_003
HBOOT-2.00.4444
RADIO-1.12.50.0516
OpenDSP-v9.2.0268.1214
eMMC-boot
I also got rid of CWM and put TWRP v2.8.4.0
I just went to the bootloader screen and tried to install the OTA file from there and also the OTA file that I deleted the assert build prop stuff from and I get the same error E: Error executing updater binary in zip
SO idk what to do but im determined to fix this.
Thank you much for helping me
Now my phone wont work at all.
Its stuck on the HTC screen and I cant figure out how to get it back. I know there is a way. This really sucks.

Theres is not much what i can do, because i don't know much about boost, and i don't have any files for it.
Maybe @Modding.MyMind can help you here, he has much more knowledge in this kind of stuff, than me.
Ok. I managed to get my phone unbricked by using windows 7 and using fastboot to flash the same operating system I was already using. Now I don't have twrp or cwm. Its just a red triangle now if I try to log into recovery.
It is also switched from moonshine s off to locked.
So I'm assuming I'm S on now and bootloader locked.
I went back to the RUU program you told me to install and it started to work but then stop and gave an error 158 image error. I googled it but I don't understand how to fix it.
Is there any way I can just get sense 5 and 4.2.2. I'm starting to think its not possible. But would be nice if I could.
I don't know, whats wrong here. What have you flashed on your phone to get it running?
A RUU? This would explain, that you loose twrp, because it flashes everything to stock. But it don't set S-off to S-on! That step has to be done manually by yourself.

Download this pure 4.1.2 JellyBean backup made specifically for TWRP and extract the zip on to your desktop. Flash the TWRP recovery to your recovery partition using fastboot.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrprecovery.img
Reboot in to TWRP, make sure your device is plugged in to your computer.
Now before we move on further I need you to make a quick TWRP backup. You do not need to make a full backup. Just one will do since I am merely aiming to have the required TWRP backup directory be created on your device.
Did you make a quick backup? Good. Lets move forward.
Select the option to mount your usb (You should still be in TWRP). A window will pop up on your computer showing either your internal or external storage. Find the TWRP folder and look through it until you find the backup folder. Go inside the backup folder and you will see the files created to make your backup. Delete them all.
Copy my backup that you downloaded earlier over to that same directory. When done, unmount device from computer, then unmount device from phone. Select to restore your device using that TWRP backup. After completition, reboot your device, let the phone start up. Welcome back to 4.1.2.
Go to settings to manualkly update your device to 4.2.2 but before you accept the update you must make sure you flash back your stock recovery using the same instructions given at the beginning. DO not attempt to accept the OTA with TWRP installed, it will fail.
Hey thanks
Im on 4.1.2 now
Last night I went to this forum http://androidforums.com/threads/htc-one-sv-boost-stuck-on-splash-screen.826881. When I was there I followed the instructions that the guy gave the other guy for his problem, since I was bricked and stuck on the splash screen. I downloaded this https://www.dropbox.com/s/wqq04edwc844ufw/decrypted_k2_cl_2.06.653.6_rom.zip. And that got me back to 4.1.2 with sense 4.
Now since I did that it deleted the twrp I had on it and where it used to say moonshine S Off it now says LOCKED? So, I dont know what that means if Im s off or not anymore.
I went to download the update to 4.2.2 and it started to install but then just rebooted and it still asks me to update and im still on 4.1.2. I also tried the RUU again in fastboot mode and it will start to install and stops at error 158 image error. ? ... I also took the OTA update file that downloaded from the downloads folder and put it on my computer and tried to flash it with fastboot and it still stops after some kind of check. I even edited the update-script to delete the assert at the top and it started and stopped at a different error. So idk..
Right now my phone is back on and I can use it. I just want to get the update somehow. So maybe if you still think I should try again and do what you just mentioned, Ill do it tonight once i get to my desktop with win 7 since win 8.1 is stupid with this.

You should still be S-Off. If you boot up to your bootloader it will either say S-On or S-Off. You used a decrypted RUU so it is a good chance your bootloader is in fact locked. You lost TWRP because the "RUU" restored your device back with the original images as if your device came right out of the box. Which is the whole purpose of an RUU. As for the issue you are having with the OTA update, that seems a bit off, so just follow my instructions and you should be fine. Check to see if you are S-On or S-Off. Also insure that your bootloader is unlocked. If you are S-On then take the boot.emmc.win file from my backup and rename it to boot.img. Use fastboot to flash the boot.img to the boot partition.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
recovery.emmc.win is the stock recovery. Again, if you are S-On, then rename it to recovery.img and flash it using fastboot.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
This is required because being S-On will prevent you from writing to those partitions using DD. Requires you to be S-Off otherwise. If you are S-On, then that is fine. First focus on getting yourself up to 4.2.2. Once that has been accomplished then use rumrunner universal for HTC to gain S-Off again.

Hello
Sorry I havent been online lately to give an update.
Thank you for your help. I am successfully now on 4.2.2 with sense 5 by following your instructions.
So now all I have to do is Root again. Can you tell me an quick and easy way to Root again?? I did it last over a year ago on this phone and I think the way it was rooted was the reason I was having such issues. But idk.... Im open for better options on rooting the phone. Towelroot doesnt work for this phone, not that I every used towelroot, i just seen that lots of others are saying it worked and it was fast and easy.
After I root it, I want to be able to increase my phone storage too and be able to move apps to sd card instead of it using all my phone storage. It is already saying cant download bc of insufficient storage.
And other than that, do you know of a good build.prop script for this phone that can increase network speed and maybe bypass the data cap?
Also, I still dont know how I can tell if Im S off or S on? When I hold the vol down and power button, it pops up like it used too but instead of saying its S off it just says LOCKED?
hey guys, yesterdy I got a notification for android 6.0 upgrade and it was a ~100mb file for preparation so i downloaded it and charged my battery and tapped to install it, it reboots and wants to start installing but then goes to recovery menu and gives an error
the phone is all stock, no root or bl unlock or anything
I attached the error msg below:
it's m8sd not e8sd, mistyped in topic
Might be due to bad zip file! Download the update again and try!

I had a similar error as yours doing exactly the same thing but mine was a e8sw running LP5 Sense6 rooted stock with xposed.
Even when I uninstalled xposed and disabled supersu, I still could not install the upgrade.
Finally managed to get the upgrade by going all the way back to stock and allow the OTA updates all the way up the MM6 update. Took me nearly 2 days to do that.
I have taken clean twrp backups of all the stock updates and will try and post them here soon.

thank you for the information, but as I mentioned in op my phone is already all stock, I havent ever moded or rooted or anything, it's stock locked bootloader
Have the exact same issue. My device is compelitely stock. Tried flashing the recovery from the downloaded OTA but still got the sama error. Hopefully someone will be able to resolve the issue.
if you have problems in installing OTA updates, follow these steps
1. check if your CID and MID are matching each other. they should be both for same region. mine are for vietnam. mec_dugl / HTC__057
2.Flash an stock RUU from http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-e8/help/htc-one-e8-mid-cid-ruu-ota-twrp-t2903210
3.Skip all registeration process and directly go to update menu.
4.this is a 3 stage update process: a small update for some applications/another 100 MB update for making device ready for main update!! / at last 1 GB main update . each one should be downloaded and installed separately.
5. after downloading 100MB update, DO NOT restart. coneect your phone to PC and go to download folder on phone internal memory, there should be a zip file containing updates(sadly I forgot file name), copy it on your PC and extract recovery.img from it.
6. boot your phone into bootloader and flash stock recovery you've extracted using fastboot.
7. now you have complete stock ROM. go to setting/update again and follow update process.
8.after updating you may flash twrp and supersu.
9. I don't know why, but there is a good chance that after messing with system files in MM you get stuck in several kinds of bootloops and soft-breaks. Don't worry; all you should do is going to recovery and wiping caches. sometimes you need a factory reset too. also have in mind that a complete boot after changing system files may take up to 15 minutes even without wipes.
@sam5154 well thank you for the info, Im gonna try these steps except, I will try to download again and flash recovery and try it before flashing a RUU and lose everything
but I hope it works anyway, btw mine is also vietnam region.

Hi, thanks for this. I will try this once i got home.
But i have one questions, mine is Vietnam MEC_DUGL with stock lollipop 5.0.2. The RUU only available for stock lollipop 5.0.1. Can I use this RUU or should I look for specific RUU for lollipop 5.02?
Thanks!

If you gonaa try that, then remeber to unroot and uninstall xposed, and you can use titanium backup for restoring your apps and data of course.

Here you go :
If you want more information, use ADB (if you don't how to get it going, use the search on the forum or Google about it).
While you phone is connected to your PC, type adb reboot bootloader and wait for your phone to reboot into bootloader mode. Once there, you can perform fastboot commands like getvar. Type fastboot getvar all and you will see all the information about the phone, including the product variable which lists the model you have.

btw I did go through the steps of downloading the 110mb update and flashing its recovery before pressing install and that didnt work and still gives OP error
so I guess I have to use RUU but not gonna do that for a while and also Im not so sure it'll work because the phone is already factory stock!

Yes bos, i also did the recovery trick but still cant make it work. So the only solution we havent try is to flash RUU which i doubt also will make it work since my phone also factory stock. So i guess will stay in 5.0.2 for a while.

Hi, I have managed to finally update my Vietnam HTC One E8 dual SIM (MEC_DUGL) to Android 6.0. The problem that cause the error is the error recovery file, hence I re-install the RUU to get the correct recovery.img file. Below are the steps :
Note : Try with your own risk
1. My device is currently stock 5.0.2 no root and locked. Before starting the update process please make sure to backup all of your important data. Im using the stock HTC backup software, when you restore your device after you finished your update process, it will re-install your currently installed apps , contacts, settings, etc.
2. Download RUU for your device here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-e8/help/htc-one-e8-mid-cid-ruu-ota-twrp-t2903210
I downloaded :
[Vietnam][DUAL][M8sd][mec_dugl][CID HTC__059][OPAJ20000] :
[Lollipop 5.0.1][2.35.425.2] : LINK
Seems not match with my current software (5.0.2), but eventually it will do the magic.
3. Flash RUU. NOTE : You will lose all of your data in your internal phone memory. Make sure to backup all of your important files.
Steps:
1) Download RUU.
2) Rename RUU to 0PAJIMG.zip (the first character is a zero, NOT A LETTER O)
3) Put renamed 0PAJIMG.zip on your external_SD
4) Boot into your bootloader and make sure your in hboot and let it update its RUU.
5) No PC, no adb, no fastboot, no terminal is needed, just a root explorer to rename and transfer the renamed RUU file to external_sd
6) After you have updated your RUU, make sure to remove the 0PAJIMG.zip from your external_sd because it will ask to update your RUU everytime your reboot to your bootloader which it is technically supposed to do but its unnecessary after you have done it once (unless you are planning on flashing RUU again).
7) Done!

4. Reboot your phone, now your phone is back to factory stock, connect it to wifi, no need to set up any account, just go directly to software update from Settings > About > Software Updates. Just install all the available software updates (5.0.2 > 6.0 part 1 > 6.0 part 2).
5. BOOM! Your HTC One E8 now runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
6. Restore your phone from the stock HTC Backup Software.
7. Done
