To begin with, Welcome to XDA Developers
Please review the LG Optimus One FAQ for answers to commonly asked questions.
As for which ROM is better... That's really a matter of personal preference. I'd suggest reading the FAQ first before making a hurried decision.
Starting with CM7 ( Android 2.3 ) all ROMs are for new baseband. From what info you've supplied your device is old baseband. If you choose a P500 specific ROM CM7.2 or later you will also need the old baseband patch. There is a link in the FAQ I mentioned above for downloading it. Should you decide to use any of Rasheds ROMs, just use the P509 variant. It's hardware is identical to the P500 but the P509 will always be an old baseband device. Rashed include the old baseband patch in the P509 and P506 ROMs. Do NOT flash a P506 ROM on your device. The touchscreens are different so they have different drivers.
Best of luck and once again, Welcome to XDA-Developers

NEVER use ROM Manager with this device. Flash old baseband patch after flashing the ROM. Once rooted, you can use FlashImageGUI to flash a custom recovery. Then reboot device to recovery and following flashing steps posted in the FAQ. FlashImageGUI is an application ( apk ). You can download it from Play Store. ROM must be on SDCARD to flash it via recovery. You can also use Android Flash Recovery to flash a custom recovery if you prefer using Windows. Link is in my signature. The download contains the drivers needed for Windows to detect your device. You must install them before attempting to flash the recovery. Drivers are located in the usb folder in the archive.

Honestly I'm not sure. I've try not to use KDZ because of all the devices that have been bricked by it. I'm not saying that yours will get bricked, but I was never willing to try. I still have a P509 but I don't use it anymore except for testing apps that I write. KDZ has bricked 2 P506's for me. But, I think the issue was that I left the SIM card in the device. Not sure tho. Sorry I cannot give you a more direct answer.

It will update your recovery to the newest stock recovery is my guess but that won't work. Stock recovery doesn't allow for custom ROM installations. As I mentioned earlier, you will need to install a custom recovery and not thru LG Update. Along with Android Flash Recovery ( AFR ) there are many other tools here at XDA that are far safer to use than LG's software since most of LG's stuff is crap. Just do a little searching and you'll find what you're looking for. My job is not to give you all the answers you want, but to point you in the right direction. Here at XDA we stress using the Search feature.

OK. Basically you'll have to root it, flash a custom recovery like CWM and go to CM's site and pull a pre-built ROM for your device and install it via recovery. But it's likely to be a tedious process with many many details left for you to figure out yourself.
You'll most likely need Odin/Heimdall to deal with Samsung Galaxy devices. Since you are using S3, a very popular model, hopefully there are already pre-rooted images for your specific model on the Internet. Just grab one (be careful with its version!) and flash it with Odin/Heimdall. Usually flashing PDA(Odin 3.07)/AP(Odin 3.09) alone is enough. There are many tutorials on how to accomplish that with either program in the forums.
Be sure to wipe the data partition before installing CM or it may get stuck in the boot loop.

Well there is not much.
You have root and install recovery for 4.1.2 (downgrade if you are on 4.4.2) then install the zip that has root and recovery
Here is the link
If you are not interested in recovery thanks to geohot there is an tethered root called towelroot and just click the lyambda ICON.
To activate the root just
open the app
make it ra1n
download superuser from any market
use rooted application (grant root premission)
after reboot root will be gone so you will make it rain again
Xposed and other root applications are working flawelessy
Is the stock ROM fully English?
I have a LG Optimus Vu II (F200L), which came with a weird firmware that has a lot of stuff in korean. Now I'm not sure if this is the official ROM or not. But it doesn't seem very "OFFICIAL" to me and I think it's already rooted (that's weird cause I've never seen a brand new phone which comes pre-rooted). I played around with the settings a lot, to change the language to english completely, but some of the things still come in korean. This is a pretty good phone but the weird korean stuff ruins it.
So, my question is, does the official stock firmware (for which you gave the links in the first post) have everything in english? I don't want any root or custom ROMS or anything. I just want a full english language interface.
And which method should I use for flashing? The first one seems quite simple, but will it work if I'm flashing a stock ROM over a custom rooted one?
EDIT: I tried using the first method to flash the .kdz file onto my Vu II, after connecting it to my PC in download mode, but half-way through the flashing process, it gives an error "Connection to server failed. Try again in a moment." This happened 4 times. Any suggestions?
EDIT AGAIN: Managed to flash the ROM successfully, just had to disconnect from the internet haha. But ah! Even this is partly Korean! So, I guess there is no international version of the official ROM for this phone? Oh well, time to get rid of it.
try the korean sites
try the korean sites for custom roms and stuff. just google for vu2 sonyue or vu2 lgviet.
these sites have quite a few roms for this handset. all u have to translate the pages to english. also u have to be fluent with the flashing process.
pm me if u want to know more.

Note: This Tutorial is for the Lenovo S8 A7600(M) MOBILE Only! Theres a Tablet named the same, dont get confused.
Warning: Your Warranty is void. I am not responsible for any kind of bricks or software failure! Only for MTK6752 ! And not for the same Numbered Tablet. this guide is for the Phone.
The Lenovo S8 7600 Golden Warrior is a very nice phone with some quite good specs. Only cons I could find was that it has none of community and tons of bloatware which is unremovable. Yet!
Lets root it, Guys.
You Need:
Model A7600 Only:
1.The Lenovo Firmware including Chinese TWRP which is provided here by me:
(Thats the only one i could find. If anyone is Brave enough to make an English Version and wants to upload it for this thread fell free to do it.)
Firmware:

Chinese TWRP:

Model A7600M:

TWRP Recovery(Chinese):
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bzt5QqUHjbg3aXRTMkFSczZoZWM/view?usp=sharing
2.SP Flash Tools. This will be Needed for flashing the Sock Rom Incl. Recovery. Version 5.13xxxx Minimum Requied.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/zx5m9mp3x5p413h/SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1452.00.zip
3. The Meadiatek Driver(Explains itself i think)
http://d-h.st/1PN
4. The SuperSU.ZIP (Thanks Chainfire, we love you)
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
5.(optional) If you want to use the Google Apps i recommend Downloading the GApps Mini for 5.0 from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/gapps-mini-t3089612
Now Lets get Started:
1. Unzip the Driver Package and Run the Exe. After Installation, restart you Computer. If using Windows 8, disable Signaure Driver Enforcement.
2. Turn Off you device. Open the SP Flash Tools Folder and run Flash_tool.exe as Administrator.
3. Now Unzip the VibeUI Firmware Package. In SP Flashtools klick on Scatter Load. Navigate to the VibeUI Folder and choose the MT6752_Android_scatter.txt.
Edt: Some People Including me had Problems with the Scatter File. However, If getting errors, try creating your own scatter file referring this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2151251
4. Check if every Downloadfile exept the System is Checked, else you will get an error.
5.IMPORTANT: Go to settings, Download and CHECK the DA DL All with Checksum.
6. Klick on Download.
7. NOW the Tricky Part. Remove the Battery. Insert it again. Now leave the Phone Turned off and plug the USB Cable in, but holding the Volume UP button.
8. If you get a Red Bar and a Yellow followed by some grey in SP Flash tools you have done it right. If the Flash was successfully, you will get a green tick mark as passed.
9. Now unplug USB and take the battery out and pop it in again. Boot the Phone. Dont get shocked if it doesn't boot up fast, it usually takes about 6-8 Minutes. Be Patient!
10. If the Phone Boots up successfully, configure it and Connect it as a MTP Device on the Computer.
11. Now Copy the GApps.zip and the SuperSu.Zip to the Root of the Phone Memory.
12. Boot into Recovery (Holding VOL UP AND DOWN while turning the Phone on) and flash the two Zips. Its in Chinese but you will
only need to flash it once. Flash Zip is the Upper Left Button. Choose your GappsZip and use the Back Button to get to the main Screen. Now flash the SuperSA.zip.
13.Reboot. If you dont know how to just take off the battery ( Its quite risky so better try using the Buttons. The Layout is the same as in the English Version)
Finished! Now your Device is Rooted and got the Gapps on it. Download Titanium Backup and remove the Chinese Crap Bloatware. You are now the Master of your Device. I would be really happy about Donations, since It was very Hard to get Hands on these Roms and Recoverys.

For those of you who lost the IMEI address on this phone, or ANY other, here is simple guide witch solved my problem:
1. Download this http://www.4shared.com/file/aNRAdrvgba/sn_gen.html , or search sn_gen.exe (Dont worry, the program is not translated that isn't a problem)
2. In the ??IMEI 1 field write your original imei address (behind the battery)
3. Click on ??MP0B_001?? - It will create a file on your desktop named MP0B_001.
4. Copy the file in your phone, Install Root Explorer, send the file in data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/ and change the permission of the file (check all boxes)
5. Restart the phone.
Thats it ! This phone is very tricky to flash (or recover) , because of the chipset.. its very rare
I had a lot of problems to fix it, You have to use the right version of Sp flash tool !!!

Hey
Could someone tell me what to do? I flashed a rom and recovery via Sp Tool (not from this guide) on my S8 A7600. It was a custom rom with removed bloatware I found on a Russian site (google translate).
Now I find that my baseband is unknown and no IMEI's either. I didn't notice this in the beginning though, I did root the phone first and cleaned up even further with Titanium Backup, including the default phone and
contact apps.
Don't know if this could have had an impact or not, but my impression is that it has to do with modem driver, which might be a different one (it seems the custom rom was built from chinese rom). Both scatter files (rom and recovery) does not seem to touch the nvram area, although this mtk flashing stuff is completely new to me.
Have any tips? This chipset is new for IMEI repair, so is unsupported from what I gather.
I flashed another rom I found and the IMEI came back, hurray
Good to know its not some permanent lame fault the mtk engineers would have missed (unlikely). Well now back to customizing romz, the default lenovo rom is far from what I consider usable.

Actually I think I said that wrong. I am now using this rom: VIBEUI_V2.5_ _USR_ST1524_5.1460.1_1506111858_MP6V3_CU_CN_otafull
This is the latest official stock rom directly from Lenovo. I was referring to one of the rom's that's flashed by those shabby vendors, full of adware, malware and viruses.
I was not aware of this situation as this is my first china phone.
To Op: No I did not use your Rom. I've tried a few others and the *Real* stock ota rom from lenovo was the best for me, also the latest stable build. I found it here btw: lenovo-forums.ru(can't post full link)
Also I'm looking for this: A7600_TWRP2.8.7.0_2015-07-18.7z <--- This is the only recovery I've found that has english language. It was posted on 4pda.ru but link is down. Also seen it on those chinese sites, but requires account to download.

My Suggestion would be: Download and try my Rom and Recovery. Then download SuperSu/.Zip and try to flash it via Chinese TWRP which i am providing. you can locate the buttons from any other TWRP, even from other phones. If done, you could et root uininstaller and remove the crappy bloatware like i did. then install gapps

I already have chinese TWRP, and I'm rooted. The rom I'm using also does not have any insidious bloatware, except a few chinese apps that don't even require root to remove. Besides I seem to remember the system.img file in your rom was corrupt, tried to download several times.
Just saw this at 4pda.ru:
Port of K3 Note VIBE 2.8 1530 A7600 5.1】 【07/15/25
Download: yadi.sk/d/ULLundAAi5dk6
Will upload the File again, sorry to hear that.
where do you download the latest firmware?this phone doesn t have ota?no need to use flash tool if it s the case..you can root it easily with an apk
so i don t understand you manip
Mine was really hard to root, none of Kinroot or any other tool/app worked.
so could you say use what did you use for rooting it?
i just to order one so i would like to erase all chinese apk
are you happy with this phone?
Like I said, the Rom provided here is Pre Rooted and has TWRP included. With twrp you can root any rom, but seems like the file is corrupt so ill have to upload it again as soon as i get home

New full firmware package available: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5Lqys5p5m_YU2xxZ3d4T0V5WjA
VIBEUI_V2.5_1532_5.1797.1_ST_A7600_CU
I got this as ota update yesterday, on official lenovo rom. Btw, this needs to be flashed with stock recovery (rename file as "update.zip")
Actually, you can flash it with TWRP/custom recovery, just tried it
Also, you should flash Gapps after the initial boot and setup, or it may cause problems.
Here is also the TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery with English language: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5Lqys5p5m_YR0VfSXFPZ0RIZEk
The new firmware is good. So far I've noticed it has solved a big bug with launcher. Previously I could not use widgets with 3rd party launcher (settings fc), now I can.
The launcher bug is still present, but not with Google Now Launcher when flashed with gapps.
PS: Is it ok for me to post this here? Perhaps better to make new thread?
Aosp rom
I found what seems to be a recent AOSP based rom: A7600-ZP-15.08.06.zip
Though only so far seen it on Chinese sites, like this: http://pan.baidu.com/wap/link?uk=1393301215&shareid=1110457716&third=0
Don't think I will bother getting account for that, but just letting you know.
Man thank you! If you could download this and pack it in one zip, upload it on your google drive and test it again we could privide yours! Because i sold mine so i cajt test it. Else im still ready to upload it

Hi I just got this tablet GT-P5113. It has been a long time since i used odin or did anything with samsung devices. In fact I havent really had to do any modding in years because I switched to nexus/pixel and those just work snappy and clean out of the box. But samsung has far superior hardware so I want to breath new life into this. It is running 4.2.2 now. I dont need to put android 11 on this thing but something like 6 or 7 would be good.
I downloaded odin i see it has changed a bit. so to put twrp on this what part of odin do i use? BL, AP,CP, or CSC?
Most of the stuff on these fourms are outdated and the links dont work. once I get twrp on this I should be food to go and figure out the rest.
I haven't flashed more than 3 devices, but for TWRP it has always been AP in those cases.
If you flash a complete stock ROM it's much more than Recovery, so in those cases you flash separate files like bootloader (BL) etc...
Decide which ROM you want to try and read what Dev recommends in terms of Odin version and TWRP version. But a newer version than recommended should be fine (Odin).
I use 3.09 for my old P3100 but also 3.14 worked for me.
I also recommend getting the same stock ROM you already have from Sammobile.com + make a backup before modding.
For Root I have no recommendation. If Dev recommends Magisk for the ROM, try it and see.
The ROMs I tried was rooted with SuperSU 2.82 even if it's outdated nowadays. Our devices are so old so SU is fine if you ask me.
And most of the time it's SU in the ROM thread by the Dev anyway, so choose ROM and the thread for that and go from there
Android go apps
So I have the latest version of twrp on this and android is running really good and stable. The issue is it has no ram. Just basic with nothing else. Running it is taking up 85% of the system resources.
I found a. Zip that is supposed to. Enable low. Ram. Mode. But it fails on twrp install. It class. To work with devices 4.4.4 and higher. I did disable the Google app and install the lite version which helped alot and I got a memory cleaner app. Supposedly flashing this zip makes the system think it's android go and will allow to install go apps. I think this tablet would benefit greatly fr{m this mod. I was wondering if I have to mod the build. Prop. I will. I. Just want to know.Your thoughts on this matter as always thank. You for your opinions I respect. You and your advice. I found these two files on the web.

Are you talking about Low-RAM Property Patcher the thread is here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/mod-low-ram-property-patcher-android-t3737373
Perhaps your ROM doesn't support Go features, and in that case the developer has to update the ROM.

my rom is 6.0 will the one you linked to work since its for 8?
yeah the rom is basically bare bones aosp. But without anything installed besides gapps nano it uses 80% of the memory. I did disable the google app and install the go app and that helped alot. I am trying to enable low memory mode I found this:https://www.nextpit.com/turn-smartphone-into-android-go-device It says it enables low memory mode and then when you go to the play store all the go apps are availabe. so it looks like it tricks it into tinking that android go is the os. I dont know what the specifice differences are between android and android go besides go is a more stripped down version made for devices with lower end specs. They dont nmake a go version for the galaxy tab 2. Im just trying different things to make it work. This is how I learn how to do things. The great people at xda sharing their knowlage with me.

I did alot of work to get this thing back to life. First sammobile doesnt have the stock files anymore its too old. But one of the guys on the fourm had one and gave it to me. I had an older version of twrp installed and thats why i could not get anything higher than 4.4.4 or magisk. I found a newer version of twrp under the unified galaxy tab 2 development. Once i installed an updated version of twrp I was able to instal android 6 and root with magisk. it even passes saftey net. Now I am trying to disable as much as i can because it is using too mjuch ram. over 80%. It is a work in progress. Thank you for your tips. This is how I have always learned was by asking and the very knowledgeable people here at xda giving me tips. The development community is full of good smart people who like to share their knowledge.
Hello again,
I have the Tab2 P3100 and found stock firmware at Sammobile, but I had to register and become Premium user if I remember correctly. Old firmwares are archived.
Anyway... it looks like the thing I linked is the same that you linked.
I'm going to test it in my tab. My ROM is based on 6.1, will report back
Edit:
No, I get error message when installing zips and can't get it to work. LineageOS.
Best tip I can give is to install everything you want to use and then get rid of Gapps. Well, unless you use some Gapps stuff...

Yeah gapps are really memory hungry. I dont really need to use this tablet for anything special. Its more the chalenge than anything else. And I learn so much doing stuff like this. Years ago I got y first android phone the lg g2x. Not too long after that I discovered xda and just started reading and asking questions. Then one day I took the jump and learned so much just by asking the devs questions and you know getting them a beer here or cup of coffee there. I love xda for that.
