If it has a Snapdragon processor, the bootloader can not be unlocked, and you can not flash TWRP, nor any custom ROMs.
With that said, I'm a bit puzzled by your description of your device. On the attached varients list, I don't see a "hk" version, and the only 6GB ram version is the G955FD which has an Exynos processor. Is that what you have?

OK. Apparently the "O" does have an unlockable bootloader and is a Snapdragon as you indicated, and there is a version of TWRP available for it (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ecovery-twrp-galaxy-s8-s8-snapdragon-t3636718).
You'll have to research ROMs, though. I do not know if there are any that support this variant.

Hello everybody,
I'm looking for the answer of my question but I still didn't find it. I live in Hong Kong and I bought a SGS7 from Korea, the model is SM-G930K. The phone is unlocked but there are bloatwares from the carrier and I can't remove the sound of the camera on this model.
That's why I was wondering if I could use an international rom like from the SM-G930F? I wanted to try but I'm afraid of bricking the phone. The SM-G930K from Korea is also a Exynios version, so I really hope I can flash it with an international rom.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, I made a mistake! How move the topic to the questions and answers section?
G930K user here, too. Yes you can, but directly flashing G930F firmware through odin is not possible due to difference in partition sizes. Still, you can flash custom ROMs which can be installed through TWRP(e.g. Superman ROM).

But custom ROMs have to mention G930K or not? Or just a classic custom ROMs from G930F is ok?
I remember, a long time ago, may be before Android, I edited the ROM just with an hexadecimal app, and I could change the model and some stuff. We can't do something like this neither?

Just flash G930F ROMs, it doesn't matter whether G930K support is mentioned or not. No need to edit anything.

Isn't it what the re-partition option for?
Sorry to bump an old thread, but that't the clearest discussion I've found so far regarding flashing on the K variant.
I'm asking this for the S7E though (G935K > G935F) and everyone on the other forum says that it is just impossible to do anything on the K version ( which seems weird to me since the hardware is exactly the same and root/TWRP work fine).

I made a research during few weeks about that, and it's still not clear. I have also read that the modem is faster than the classic S7. But I have not found a loud and clear answer.
Until someone try to flash a G930F rom on a G930F phone, we won't know.

Hi. Apparently you cannot. If you want another rom, you have to install an alternative recovery, root your phone, and install a custom rom.
Anyone found clear answer?

Hi. No you cannot. Check my previous message, the only way is to install custom rom.
Those devices have same hardware. But the partition sizes are different. If you want to know, just flash custom recovery (TWRP) to your korean S7 and flash LineageOS or RR. Because all of them suggested our devices as well like this: (G930 F|W8|K|L|S). It will fail when you try to flash it by recovery. Because Galaxy S7's Korean variant's partition sizes are different from international and canadian S7s. There was one guide to flash AOSP ROMs to Korean S7's. There will be guide to resize of partitions on ROM's installation. But all commands are needs Linux Based OS, but not Android. I was tried it by Termux on my Galaxy S7. ext2simg command was still not available on Android's terminal . Others was available... so sad. And python codes are so simple to run. One day I will try it on Linux Based OS'd PC.

Not fine. But our devices have same hardware (F = W8 = K = L = S). Only the partition sizes are different. You just need to flash custom recovery (TWRP) then choose custom rom what you want for your S7. I'm suggesting SuperMan ROM and BatMan ROM. They are so stable, and clean. BatMan ROM was not fully stable on my G930K. Then I tried SuperMan ROM's clean, stock installation method on AROMA. It was really clean and Stable on my G930K. Try it bro :fingers-crossed: all of them TouchWiz interfaced. If you want try AOSP, you need to resize your partition sizes by this guide.

I have a friend who bought a Huawei 6s from China.
Model number: DIG-TL10
RAM: 3GB
ROM: 32GB
EMUI 4.1 (Android 6.0)
Unfortunately, can't seem to find an English ROM for this.
Did some further research, and found this site:
http://huaweip9.it/schede-tecniche-huawei/huawei-enjoy-6s/
It was stated there that this model was released globally under different names, and it seems the closest twin would be the Honor 6c.
Would it be possible to flash a Honor 6c ROM on this phone?
So that I will have a full English ROM.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

That is also my concern. There might be slight differences that could cause soft brick or worse, if done incorrectly.

If you like testing ROMs go with OnePlus 5T, i'm also thinking about switching.
OnePlus 5T is a good choice if you want to use developer apps and sideload mods, tweaks, roms.. etc.
I think if you go with a Exynos processor S8(international variant) you should be ok, as is it has been rooted fully already.
Check this post out for a list of different S8+ variants.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/index-list-s8-s8-versions-t3586387
The Snapdragon processor hasn't been fully rooted like the Exynos version. So make sure you get the right model for your location.

Not that it matters in this case but your statement is not accurate. We do have root and it's stable. What we don't have is an unlocked bootloader which the Exynos version DOES have.

Quite so. If you didn't already do it you could head over to Cross Dev or the S8+ ROM forums and see what's available there.
Presently the vast majority are modded Touchwiz-based ROMs, which are quite excellent and offer great customization/battery life etc. If you are specifically keen on LOS-based (or other non-Touchwiz) ROMs there are very few under development, but it seems like quite a way to go yet.

From my understanding, if your model has the option to unlock the bootloader from developer options, then you can root. If you have a snapdragon varient, the only model that has the ability to unlock the bootloader is the SM-G9700 which is only sold in hong kong/china. I believe all Exynos models have the ability to unlock the bootloader, not sure though.
No one has rooted the snap dragon variant, but I'm sure it's possible. I just don't understand why there's no information or status updates on it.

Im pretty sure people are using the Exynos method on snapdragon variants that have the unlockable bootloader.

Don't be so sure about unlocking the US Snapdragon devices. There hasn't been a real root since the S7 series, the S8 root only works on some older bootloaders and crashing a lot, while the S9/S10 have nothing so far. Without an unlockable bootloader, it's extremely difficult to do anything. On the S7 it was possible via special engineering bootloaders, but that trick doesn't work on the S8/S9/S10 series coupled Samsung's new bootloader security measure via "VaultKeeper". Even on the Exynos versions it's a struggle to run Magisk, on every reboot you have to go through a bunch of steps to basically re-unlock the bootloader. It's basically game over rooting new US flagship Samsung devices, therefore you're better off with the international/global Exynos "F" versions.
Hello,
I need to obtain some clear information regarding the 80% limit charging.
I own a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus SM-G955F (EU), and I'm about to unlock its bootloader in order to root it.
Question : does the 80% limit apply to the Snapdragon (US) or Exynos (EU) or both model ?
Does this limit also apply to newer Samsung devices (s9, note 9,s10,note 10)?
THANKS

As far as I know the 80% charge limit applies to Snapdragon ( US ) models.when rooted. The Exynos version does not have this limitation.
