Any developer working on root and knox , samsung pay work as well? - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

I want to have root but knox and samsung pay making me stay away from root...... please work on this ?

There's a reason Knox exists and why security is tight.
As much as it would be cool to have root and use Samsung Pay, it should not happen because then you won't have Samsung Pay. No banks will ever participate in a service which isn't secure.
Knox and Samsung Pay are easily the most secure of any mobile payment platform so it will never happen.

That's not a very fair attitude to have, is it? Lots of people have spent countless hours of their own spare time, money and effort to get root working on both the Exynos and Snapdragon variants of the S8 and S8+ devices. They don't get paid for doing this either.
But because Samsung have a very tight secure system, that is unable to be bypassed, you're going to leave XDA because you can't get something you really want?
Samsung Pay will never work on a rooted device. It cannot be bypassed. It's very secure. Samsung Knox is DEFENCE GRADE security.
Luckily though, Samsung Pay is the ONLY thing that won't work on a rooted S8. Everything else works.

Maybe you could work on this, since you think it should be done.

I am working on it. But as other posters have said, it is a very secure system and I have limited time and money to make it happen. I fully expect that we will be able to bypass at least some of the Knox security, but these things take time.

why you need root?

I am rooted my device for seen what is the difference in rooted and non rooted device.
But know Samsung secure folder Samsung pay and Samsung pass not working in Samsung phones. Any developer have any method for this to fix only Samsung pass.

Assuming you want to know how to use Samsung Health on a rooted device?
-Open the file build.prop (from /system) in a text editor
-In build.prop file look for ro.config.tima=1
-Change this to ro.config.tima=0,
-Reboot phone

Root with magisk, and or install kingrom v8. Update all, magisk stuff n you'll be fine. Sammy pay works and all other bs ppl use that most rooted ppl don't care to use. Honest reply to your OP sir/ma'am hope this helped.
To be fair, if a person is too lazy to pull out their wallet and pay with cash or card than why own a phone with a feature that further makes the presumably lazy, more lazy? To add a bit more, personally, I don't use 90% of the apps on my phone. Don't even use the finger scanner or eye scanner since they aren't covered by the constitution. Physical passwords I.e. pins, codez and a mix there of are covered but not Biometrics. Sure its cool and secure but I value my true privacy but that's a thread for another time.

Mis-spoke. Knox works and secure folder however Sammy pay no longer works. Not sure why exactly. However android pay still works and that makes me baffled since I'm rooted. Sorry about that.
Never let the lack of 1 or 3 apps keep you from rooting. Best advice I can give anyone.

Yea, Android Pay works, but Samsung Pay doesn't. Never has on rooted device, regardless of Knox spoofed status.

Don't think it's about being lazy. It takes the same effort to pull out my phone as it does my wallet. If you think pulling a card out of a wallet takes effort, then maybe you need to hit the gym. LOL.
For me, I like bells and whistles and technology, so I think it's cool. It's also come in handy the rare times I ledt the house without my wallet, and needed to stop and buy something. It is more convenient, since I can carry my ID and my phone and skip the wallet.
I get rewards points for using it, which I've already cashed in and got free stuff. It tracks my purchases.
I am not lazy, yet use SPay everyday. It would not be worth losing just for root, so I can disable an app or an ad.

Well said! I don't bank online but for me, root is far more than just turning off ads lol...if someone is rooting for just that purpose than they are missing the entire point of it entirly. As for the wallet aspect, that's a gray area. Most ppl I see have their phone out vs the wallet. Even some I see with the phone out do the wallet. I have a friend who's very wealthy and he's always, doing cash or card and never his phone. Even tho the option is there for him to. Convianiant uee, ethical, maybe but not so much. I'd rather have a device that's modded and backed knowing I'm covered vs a,phone that anyone with a brain could hack the POS front of nfc which is pretty easy to do in its own reserve with Skimmers and so on. But this is from a security POV.

[REF/TIPS/TRICKS] New Phone? Check here first

Congratulations on your new Purchase. The Tmobile LG G2x is a beast. Like all new devices, you may experience new service options and features you may not be familiar with and may cause some trouble down the line if not set up properly. We also want to make sure you are away of all of the known issues and some faulty units so you are aware and can check while still within a reasonable exchange window.
1. Get Connected! By default you won't be able to access the SD card via USB because it is defaulted to mount the Internal Storage, which requires the LG Driver.
To get around this, or if you only want/need access to the SDCard go to [Settings>SDCard and Phone Storage] and check "Mass Storage Only". This option doesn't require special drivers and will operate like most other phones.
The folder hierarchy is as follows:
Code:
Internal Storage: /sdcard
External Storage: /sdcard/_ExternalSD
1A. How to Delete your LG Drivers to use MASS STORAGE and to advert the Blue Screen of Death:
Obviously on Windows: Go to Start>Control Panel>Programs and Features find "LG Android Drivers" in the list and uninstall.
2. The first big problem on a few handsets is a backlight bleeding. You can test this by viewing a black screen in a dark room. You should have a solid color throughout. If you have really bad bright corners, you may be a victim of the bleed. While not quite a set back, it may be noticeable while watching movies or playing games in the future. If this is something that bothers you, I advise to swap it out for another unit.
3. There seems to be lots of "weird" issues ranging from grayed out options or behaviors such as lockscreen sounds not working. Most are assumed from faulty Titanium Backup restores or by simply skipping the initial setup. It is recommended that if you have done any of these things, to do hard format and set it up manually, recreating backups and program restores.
4. Like other later handsets by Tmobile, you may see WiFi Calling in the App Drawer. It works fantastic and is great for desperate times when you don't have available cell service. What you need to know is that it is ENABLED by default. The problem is WiFi Calling is designed to disable your actual Cell radio to save battery. What this means is that if you enable your Wireless and bounce around stores or in/out of WiFi service, you may be missing calls and messages while you are offline.
I recommend turning WiFi Calling OFF and enabling it only when needed.
5. WiFi is set to go into sleep mode after X amount of inactive minutes to conserve battery also. While a great feature, if used in conjunction with WiFi Calling, you may find your WiFi goes to sleep and you can start missing calls and messages also. To change this to go [Settings>Wireless & networks>WiFi Settings] + Hit Menu>Advanced]:
Change WiFi Sleep Policy to: Never
6. LG, like most other manufactures, develop their own drivers which may or may not be compatible with everything. With the LG G2x we are finding that some Bluetooth profiles may not play nice with your gadgets. Please check these as soon as possible. Some items may be Car Stereos, Specific programs using certain bluetooth profiles, and handheld gadgets such as gamepads or wireless speakers. Most will work but a few reports suggest the drivers may be off. Again, for your satisfaction, please check as soon as possible.
7. Root:
-Enable "USB debugging" [Settings>Applications>Development] and connect your phone to your computer via USB.
-Install ADB Drivers LG Driver.
-Run SuperOneClick: SuperOneClick
-Choose the option "Root".
8. Get rid of Bloatware using Root and Root Explorer (from market):
Here are a list of apps you can delete from the (/system/app/) folder:
Code:
AppPack
TeleNav
NOVA Demo
NFSShift
LMIRescue (LogMeIn.Rescue)
LMIRescueSecurity
EAPK = EA Mobile
MyAccount.apk = "My Account" and "My Device"
ZinioReader
ZinioSettingsProvider
9. There was also a report of using a HTC EVO Micro HDMI cable that shorted out the phone. This was a big deal over in the EVO thread. The problem is the way the cable was made and can short out with the external metal casing. If you purchased one of these I would proceed with caution.
10. If you want to make a solid backup of your current configuration or FLASH ROMS then you'll need ClockworkMod Recovery. There are two current methods to doing this. Both work but this is the best option because you can boot into Recovery via Volume Down + Power in case something gets screwed up and you get thrown into a Bootloop. The other method is by simply downloading Rom Manager via the Market and installing it that way. Although the second method does not allow booting directly into the Recovery console. So just do yourself a favor and download the latest ClockWorkMod NvFlash App for Windows
Feel free to add to this or perhaps add this information to the Wiki. Please give me a THANKS if this information was useful.
thanks, getting phone wendesday and will do all this. shouldn't the charging battery and discharge thing and factory reset be on there also from what i read.

Can you unroot with that method of rooting? I'm afraid to root because I'm not tech and android savvy and have no idea what I am doing. Plus, I have all macintosh computers, will downloading that stuff be a problem?
This is excellent. I figured most of this stuff out on my own, but for anyone still trying to figure out his or her device, you've pretty much taken care of everything. Needs to be stickyed.

Well Root just gives you admin access, which means you can do anything. Some programs require root to really get down to business, such as some of the better backup programs so they can backup a lot of the stock apps and personal settings.
Once you root there is no reason to unroot. It doesn't change anything, except permissions.
And not to worry, any application that requires root will pop up asking for access which you can accept or deny.
The main reason for Root is to use Rom Manager, which installs a custom recovery so you can flash custom roms and other files that can alter the look or functionality of certain parts of the OS. If you have no intent on altering the existing OS, you don't need root access.
Without Root, you will still be able to upgrade to new official upgrades and fixes.

Good question. On my Nexus One you hold the Track Ball, Vol Down, and Power. Lacking a trackball I guess there is not a way. Would be nice since there isn't a "Reboot" in the power menu on stock android.

Okay, well I plan on changing the look of the phone most likely, not I think mostly what I want to use it for is to delete bloatware like the t-mobile apps that may be using up a lot of my battery. Then is it worth rooting?
And also once you root it, is it complicated to alter the look and functionality?
My G2X and my Nissan Altima 08 doesn't go well over Bluetooth. No sound. I thought that was fixed in Froyo

Cant seem to bypass FRP on Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge no matter what I try

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge from a guy off ebay with smashed the screen for a cheap price and recently took it to my local Official Samsung repair shop who repaired it for a reasonable price. I turned the phone on and it had all of the other guys personal stuff on the phone and he had a screen lock on there that I didn't know how to unlock so I did a factory reset in recovery without realising about FRP. When the phone rebooted I get the google screen asking me for the original google account credentials. I have tried contacting him and getting no joy. I have tried all of the methods in youtube but as the phone has the December 2016 security update none of them seem to work. When I plug the phone into my PC windows just says the USB device has malfunctioned and does not connect. I have installed the full Samsung USB drivers but the PC still doesn't recognise it. Could the fact it is not recognised be due to the google frp or could it be to do with the fact the phone could still be damaged from when it was dropped. Im not fussed about the USB port in normal use but it appears the only method to bypass the FRP is via the USB and using one of those methods. Can anyone help please?
I had the same problem and from my understanding all the methods are blocked now I'm trying to find out if theres a way that i just havent figured out yet i've book marked your question and will keep checking back to see if you have had any help
I know it is a tricky subject as I could be in possession of a stolen phone in which case I am rightly being locked out of it but I have the receipt to prove I have purchased it which I am willing to show to anybody who might know a way around it.
Have you tried putting it in download mode then using emergency recovery on Smart Switch?
Yes tried that earlier. Smart Switch doesn't recognise it. Just stays on the screen telling me to connect the phone even though I already have. When I plug the phone into the laptop it says the USB device (my phone) has malfunctioned and Windows doesn't recognise it. I have tried ODIN and that doesn't recognise the phone either as it isn't being given a COM number by Windows. Guess I will have to take it back to the Samsung Support Centre as I paid them to get the phone working and he said the price quoted was to get it fully working. If the USB isn't working then they can repair it!

I've just unlocked a S5 Neo.
I flashed the very first firmware version (5.1.1)
FRP lock still there BUT I could now use the side sync hack or samsung unlock APK on OTG cable.
Then flashed the latest 6.0.1 version
Did you manage to unlock it?
I have the same problem
Any good current methods for this
uninstall all drivers related and kies. Then install kies and needed drivers. See if you can connect via download mode now.

Have a look at my post here... How To Reset FRP (Nearly All Fones From Android 6.x.x to 7.x.x, No Trips, Flash counter inciment, Knox, Still Mode = Official, Warenty 0 (0x0000) (Still working 16 June 2017)
You see, im not all that good with programming APK files, Dalvik VM, Obex, ect, but Linux I'm your man so i figured where is the email/pass info held and is there a switch to keep it on off, ends up one of the easiest hacks i've ever done, no complicates hashed/salted double coded switch, or hard wired switch,
just a very small partition that when or if you have any google account info stored in it you get locked out till you enter the exact same info, so i just dd,d the partition after taking a backup of course lol (; then when the fone booted to download mode i noted FRP=OFF so i flashed the stock bootloader to let the fone boot all the way to video mode and YES!!! it thought it was a new fone never been used before then i check the switches/trips KNOX , device status = official, to test i just made a new google account on the spot on the phone filled all the [email protected] in then voila its working, calls, all menu items ok, official all knox fine, just the way it was when i first got it, except obviously I've upgraded to v7, hopefully this works for you, please dont use or talk about illegall activity with this, or using it for profit, it's agift I gave you's for free so i want it to stay that way, all i want is a thanks, and a beer, lol, no but seriously, when the guy that invented the hammer to ease the effort of pussing nails into wood with you hands, never got hassle about murders with them, tha fact the could be used to rob banks, rob people, damage things, smash up shops, etc so... think about it, all i done was make a tool to help people too. theres litteraly millions of exploits, including android based ones out there just now check, https://www.exploit-db.com/ , OWASP_Vulnerable_Web_Applications_Directory_Project , http://www.exploit-db.com/ , http://www.blackploit.com/ , packetstorm cve etc etc. #
This is a tool to help people how when they first got there fone, and just filled in any old stuff to get into the fun part of the fone. ie "you cannot use [email protected],com as it already in use how about [email protected],com then the password, use one lower case, one higher case, one number , one symbol, more than 12 letters but less than 20, don't use anything you talk about, your name dob etc etc etc , so most people just pick the random one google pumps out and tries random passwords till one goes through, "I've seen this done a few times with my own eyes and had to stop them and explain and this was b4 FRP" Also if you change one letter in your google password, Factory reset your fone, your locked out if the fone never got the change in time, try it, Anyways if people use this for illegal purposes its there evilness there using not mine, there just using my tool as well as the thousand of others in the arsonry, even the OS check out "kali linux OS", "Parrot OS" "Blackbuntu OS"," BlackArch Linux" Also say you code a program to check hashes at a faster rate to speed up logins etc, a hacker will use it to check stolen passwd lists faster, if a faster CPU is made, the first thing a hacker thinks of is how many words/letters it can do a second so they can bruteforce the wifi key of the local bank, hospital etc.... so?
tried EVERYTHING ....
I have the USCellular G935R4 .... S#iiiit , like I've even gotten to the actual HOMESCREEN , but no matter what I do it wont do it.. i can access just about any app and the settings accurately every single time within seconds-mins, even tried flashing it, even had FULL access and control over it using sidesync, and i tried rooting it from oneclickroot on pc but thennnn knox trips and won't let me enable developer options.... And got the error with "sign in using email and password" on quick shortcut maker , PLUS tried everything to fix the error by reinstalling google account manager , etc ...
But NOTHING ...
If ANYONE has any idea how to successfully do get into it , Pplleasee let me know!
???
Seriously ,
I swear , I'll even pay someone ...
Try flashing the phone to the latest MM via odin and try bypassing. I tried it on my G** da** S6 with may 2017 patch. Dowgraded into latest MM and tried different bypass and it worked.

I realize that this all might be a risk, but please keep in mind that I cannot afford a new phone and am disabled and unemployed and it’s hard for me to find a new job. So soft/hard bricking my phone would suck really bad and not be helpful when trying to find a job.
Not Fast Charging is what started this whole mess, I am a multi-tasker and delved into trying to recover deleted phots off of my phone at the same time… and this is the Cliff Notes® version of where I ended up.
I have read other forums to where Samsung might be the culprit of the phone’s status being “Custom” through the latest update(?), but I cannot confirm. I noticed the phone charging really slow and it was supposed to be Fast Charging. Long story short, Samsung believes me that I didn’t try to root my phone and that inadvertently I somehow got the phone into Custom Status/Custom Firmware by using USEase and dr.Fone to recover deleted photos off of my phone, but they cannot help me and said that there was no way to roll back the device at this point. It is true I have no intentions whatsoever in rooting my phone. I’ve thought about it, but I don’t like the more risks involved…lol.
Fast forward to this past week. Yes I did use USEase [Used 1st, and didn’t work] and dr.Fone [Used 2nd, didn’t work either] (both PC programs that hook up to your phone.) which in a sense is like a USB transfer to try and recover some deleted photos. I did enable USB debugging and OEM unlock during that process. They are currently both turned off.
I noticed my first real problems started when:
• My Fingerprint sensor stopped working. [On lock screen display] “The fingerprint sensor is not responding. Try again later.” error (Is this similar as the Samsung Health threads that I see posted throughout the net that Samsung Health cannot work because “Unauthorized software was installed”? Is this Samsung’s way of telling you you’re an idiot for trying to root your phone? But it is not even true, I haven’t tried to root my phone. The best I can do is say that USEase or dr.Fone probably had something to do with it because it was working just fine before.
• Constant “Security Log Agent” message within Notifications that never goes away, “Unauthorized Actions have been detected. Restart your phone to undo these actions.” When I select it from the notification screen and takes me to the Device Security screen it also give me an option to install “My Knox”
• Phone is in “Custom” mode under “Device Status”.
• When trying to see if I can “Update” the phone during my troubleshooting steps, the following message pops up: “The operating system on your device has been modified in an unauthorized way. Try downloading software updates using Smart Switch on your computer or visit a customer service center.
The only sort of light at the end of the tunnel is when I learned how to get into the Odin Mode (Volume Down Button, Home, Power Button @ same time) it states the following:
• ODIN MODE (HIGH SPEED)
• PRODUCT NAME: SM-G930U
• CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
• SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
• FRP LOCK: ON
• WARRANTY VOID: 0X0
• QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
• RP SWREV 84 [The rest is not legible and not going back to get it unless it is
absolutely necessary…lol]
• SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
So as you can see my Current Binary is Samsung Official and as far as I can tell the Warranty is not void “0x0” (Whew!..lol)
I think I have relegated to the fact that I might have to Factory Reset my phone. Is this true? Or is there a way to turn something on/off without having to Factory Reset?
If I do need to Factory Reset:
• Will this solve:
o My problem period?
o Will this trip the Knox Security and void my warranty? (See below)
o Will a Factory Reset solve the “Custom” status issue?
o Will it solve my Update problem?
Spent many hours troubleshooting this already and am not sure if the best way possible way to do this is through Smart Switch by Samsung on PC? (I have Windows 10) It is possible that I have learned that Smart Switch recently took “Device Initialization” off the newest version(s)? I have remedied that by downloading a previous version of it and not updating it no matter how many prompts that you get (lol)
If this is my only option:
• Do I need to turn Factory Reset Protection (FRP) off? Or is that only if I were to sell my phone to someone?
• Will this cause any concerns that I have as stated above? (Tripping Knox, Voiding the Warranty, etc. etc.)
Could please use some help in someone walking me through the steps needed to get my phone healthy again. Thankfully I can still use my phone for the most part (Can make/receive calls which is the most important) I haven’t done anything yet, just waiting for expert advice. Any and all help is greatly appreciated more than you know.
Thanks,
fryerlawrence
Just flash stock over the top using ODIN 3.12.3 or newer
updato.com for firmware
A stock flash with Odin will not trip Knox, it will return your firmware status to official, and it will allow OTA updates again depending on your CSC.
If you know your credentials there's no need to turn FRP off.

Thanks to you both... just have gotten around to post a reply. I was curious @Beanvee and thanks for clearing that up.
I have Odin already from :good:Sammobile dot com:good:. That was a piece of cake. I had already researched all of the horror stories with the other Odin download sites like Odindownload dot com and Samsungodin dot com so I have steered very clear from those sites. The only downside to getting Odin from sammobile dot com is that you have to register to do that and I am okay with that if they are a trusted bunch.
But... WTH with Updato dot com ... I am still downloading from that site from this afternoon and its now almost midnight. not cool...lol. How long is that supposed to take?
Thanks you guys for helping out and droppin' forthe the knowledge... it is greatly appreciated more than you know.

Well the updato.com owner claims not to limit speeds, but just about everyone and their dog, other than a handful of people get terrible speeds
samfirm tool works well though

Terrible does not = 2 days to download something. I am still downloading. Updato.com is reprehensible. I would recommend never to recommend them again.
@*Detecto* it's not your fault btw... I am just angry and frustrated because I want to get this done two days ago and it should have been done already and me on my merry way. I pay good money for 60 m.p.s. download speeds and Updato.com is ....is... is... I reserve the right to say anymore otherwise I would be accused of being a foul mouthed sailor....lol.
This is literally the most painful download I have EVER used in my entire 30+ years of using computers on this planet. And I am NOT kidding. Right now it says, depending on the number that you want to believe it is showing, I could have either 5, 6, 7, or 8 hours left on this GDMND download!
[Drops mic and gets off of soapbox.]

Yea we know, we have complained to updato owner, but never get a resolution, not really much you can do about a free service though
Use the samfirm tool I linked above instead, should get max speed from that
Thanks to everyone involved!
After getting side-tracked quite a few times, worrying about what I needed to update before I even tried, and just fearful of any negative outcome ... tonight was the night I got my phone's fingerprint sensor back and am pretty sure that I am now "Samsung Official" so saith the About Phone > Status > Device Status > "Official"
Just wanted to thank each and everyone in this thread who helped out. I did end up using the updato.com firmware and downloaded Odin then I wanted to make sure I didn't "f" anything up so I watched a YouTube video by MrW0lf "How to Flash Stock Firmware on Samsung Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge [via Odin]".
Thanks again everyone for your help in getting back my phone to the way it was. It was pretty remarkable that I didn't lose any of my text messages, contacts, etc. I double checked my SD card and everything was there. Even my phone's theme wasn't touched. I feel like it was all a dream but thankfully it wasn't. Now the only thing I wait for is how the battery is gonna do...lol.
Thanks all of you guys for everything! :good:

Banking app detecting Magisk even when hiding

Hi Guys,
I've installed a bunch of apps to check for root including Safetynet and I'm actually in fact unrooted just bootloader unlocked and using latest version of LightROM.
Unfortunately no matter using magisk core or uninstalling everything, hiding from system and hiding the banking app it still detects Root and that's SUPER aggravating.
Is there a way to know exactly what checks is failing when an app is attempting to detect Root as I said I haven't even rooted yet..
The apps are SBM mobile and Juice byMCB.
Thanks for your help!

It says detecting root but it's actually detecting Knox has been tripped via modification.
It's well known that some banking apps and others will never work on a phone that has or had a custom Rom installed at some point.

Thanks for your answer.. So I checked with a knox checker app and it can't tell knox was triggered saying it's 0x0 (I know the efuse was tripped but magisk apparently can hide it at least from non system apps) and all the root checkers and safetynet checkers I ran could not see anything.
I wish I knew what exactly tripped this app, not sure if an app developer can open it up and see the logic in effect at startup?
What are my options now?
Since I tried removing root/magisk - did not help
1. Flash stock? knox would show up as 0x1
2. throw away the phone as it will from now on never run this banking app? that seems super extreme and when I asked before unlocking BL everyone was adamant banking apps were not a problem anymore.. sigh

Yeah those Knox checking apps are a load of rubbish to be honest. You can check if Knox has been tripped by booting into recovery and checking the Knox counter ,top left, bottom text.
When a phone is modified in any way which almost always requires root, an entry is made in the EFS partition which cannot be altered or you will lose IMEI and other critical data. As I mentioned some banking apps don't care about mods since when the app is used the connection is encrypted end to end but obviously some banking apps just won't take the risk and don't run full stop. This is why some people are saying what their saying about resetting/hiding Knox. Also as you know Knox is a physical efuse so how can software reset or hide it.
People just getting confused due to some apps working and some not but it's due to what I've just explained.
In future all banking apps are moving to completely non function if a phone has been modified so if this is important to you on a new phone ,don't ever root it.

If that's really the direction things are going it's pretty sad. Android turning into crapple.
Anyway I was wondering how an app (Bank) could have access to the real knox status while another not (the app I used detected 0x1 without magisk and 0x0 with magisk)
I don't want a world where I can't bootloader unlock my phone.. Already I regretted not bootloader unlocking it because it's 2019 and android can't backup all my app data yet. So if I factory reset, bam all my redownloaded stuff has no saved data (or most of it) and that annoys the hell out of me. There should be a way to basically nandroid a backup to your computer or sd card and restore that whenever you feel.
I was super bummed a month ago, my stock unrooted s7e was extremely slow and unusable, after rooting, and installing LightROM all went back to being fluid. I was about to spend good money for a new phone now I can't use my banking app at all and I'm *****ing cause I use it on a daily basis.

How can some apps see knox and not others? Read only access to the EFS partition.
Samsung (along with all phone Manufactures) develop their firmware together with all the big app developers who intend to use the platform. The banking sector has been hit hard with all kinds of IT related fraud especially with mobile banking. Banks simply cannot rely on customers to secure mobile devices so the choice is, block their app from functioning on a device that has been compromised in any way shape or form whatsoever or carry on taking the hit for banking fraud. If i was a bank i know which option i would choose, especially as governments are ensuring banks refund customers for their own stupidity.
With regards to open source and Android community mods, while it's been great there is a serious downside to it. More and more companies & developers are protecting their work and intellectual property. Mods will become harder and harder as much tougher security is built into apps and firmware. It's enervatible. Nobody makes money from phones which don't track your usage habits or can't show ads etc. We are all the product!
Lets not even talk about built in obsolescence.

Samsung S10+ Hacked by soon to be ex-wife

I need help. Phone has been hacked by my ex. All my conversations are being recorded 24hrs a day if in range of my phones microphone. Don't know how to stop it. Tried all avenues of help through work and carrier with no help provided. Appreciate any advice on what to try. Thanks.
sounds like your wife is the one getting scammed by paying someone for free apps
What I have seen though from the free apps is you can turn a mic on, find location, and take pictures. I haven't seen an app that can record everything you say within phone range 24 hrs a day. Plus after all the times I have reset my phone I have never restored it from a backup so I don't know how a free app could be on my phone.
That's way too much drama info that means nothing... I got a headache skim reading it
Change your Google account password on a secure PC.
Have the phone(s) firmware reflashed.
Be careful what you load.
Do whatever is needed to secure your PCs and data. Don't use either until proven clean.
Use only Gmail for email service and download only from trusted sources. If not sure, don't download it!
This isn't rocket science.
Thanks for the reply. Sorry, you are right, I did get carried away with my post. Just extremely frustrated after months of dealing with this issue. The only thing I haven't tried is re-flashing firmware. Thanks for the advice. I will try that.
im no laywer nor am i pretending to be
destory all her eletronics so she cant spy on your ****
so you just do a factory reset ? in stock recovery or in twrp how are you wiping ?? well theres not much you can do if your wife has phsycal access to your phone and this app is probably a system app or something so it doesent go away and if you constantly wipe your phone you cant do much
you can encrypt / passcode it but that can be bypassed with a factory reset
you should flash stock recovery
but devices seince android 5.0 lolipop have a frp lock you can ensure that a frp lock means when you do a factroy reset you have to do a google sign in for the first time only the first time tho
i would just divorce and leave her and XXXXX

can you see an option to disable sensors in developer option if you dont see dev option go about phone software info hit build number 7 times
go to dev option quick setting developer tile click sensors off then when you slide down you will see a option to disable sensors but it also means that things like camera will not work
cameras, microphone, accelerometer, gyroscope, and more will be disabled
do you see a icon in app menu in settings like supersu or magisk or superuser or and suspicious apps
eg an app with no name and no icon try deleteing or disable thoes apps and unroot in magisk or supersu or superuser try installing a root checker as well (the one from joeykrim)
make sure that there no root access go to system status in about phone does it say offical or custom
(custom bad )
boot into download mode (look up how to on your device)
is the flash counter anything but 0
is knox warrenty status 0x0 or 0x1
(0x1 bad)
(flash counter 1 or higher bad)
reflash stock firmware download on your computer boot into download mode use odin and flash
(google for more in depth and links)
have you rooted the device yourself?
infact that mic virus u got wouldent need root perms better safe than sorry

Yeah if malware is present it could override permissions. You need to start over with a clean load.
Reflashing the firmware guarentees this; no rootkit can survive that.

Phone has not been rooted. Knox status is still zero (just rechecked). I did turn off all sensors for awhile, but that got annoying. I went through all apps and did not see any suspicious apps. Used multiple apps to look for spyware with none found. When all this started my s9 went missing. Is there anyway that the phone can be cloned to another phone? She does have a friend who is a software engineer with background in apple and android os that from hearsay got caught doing the same thing to his exwife. That is why I am more interested in a way in finding how it is being done and catching them since in Texas it is illegal to record conversations as a 3rd party. I don't really care if she listens to me. Mostly it is me in my truck driving singing poorly. It is more of the how it is being done that is frustrating me. She told me once they got me by me clicking a link on facebook that was sent to me and I guess I didn't think twice about clicking it. I am usually really cautious about things like that, but I more conputer literate then phone apps literate I've learned my lesson now I guess. I will try reflashing firmware. Would rooting and flashing a diffrent ROM help do you think? Thanks for the feedback.
Get off FB... it's malware.
Reflash to the stock rom unless you don't like it. Go with the latest Android version for it if you want the most security.
Lol, you should know better by now to trust anything she says... let her eat silence.

You are correct. I no longer have facebook. I don't use any social media apps. I have learned my lesson the hardway.
