**** Work in progess ****
AOSP Extended is an AOSP based rom which provides stock UI/UX with various customisations features along with the Substratum theme engine. The project has been made by cherry-picking various commits from various other projects. Being based on AOSP it provides a smooth and lag-free experience out of the box. We will constantly try to add more features and make it even better in future updates. A ROM by a user, for a user. #StayAOSP #ExtendYourDevice #BeExtended
Features
Silky smooth Android experience
Tons of customisation
Pixel-like UI (Launcher, settings, Google Now swipe...)
Full Substratum/OMS support
And much more (check official AEX website)
Download
Latest release here.

I think the best custom rom I tested. Battery quite good.
Can you add omni switch for recents? Flashable zip works, but I have two buttons now.
Thanks fot your work.
Some bugs:
Magisk 14, safety net - basicintegrity true, ctsprofile false,
Play store - without certificate,
Nfs most wanted - touch not works,
Wake with volume buttons - sometimes works.

Nfs - which kernel are you on?
For wake with volume buttons try unoptimizing some system services (setting->battery->upper right corner->battery optimization) like Android System or some things to do with waking the device with volume buttons.
Tho, I am not sure about any of this, and for some time we can't expect dev's everyday support, he is very busy nowadays but he started the thread so that we can pin point some of the bugs in the mean time. Anyways, try going to a more stable kernel (in my case k10-009 is great) and unoptimize a few things and report back, I will edit the OP and add the bugs to the list if they persist after you try a few things. Never the less, thanks for help!
I'm on original kernel, good battery life, maybe I'll try 009 or uda r1.4.
Thanks for answer. @fpozar
I set android system & settings - no optimization & vol buttons wake up.
I didn't change kernel yet.

Hmm...
There are three versions of k10-009. Which one? @fpozar

OMG Best rom forever! but my Antutu score is 83000 from 95000 by other rom... And Magisk safetynet have 1/2 passed test (ctsProfile: false - basicIntegrity: true), it's only this problem but rom is great.
Pls don't stop your work!!
Thx @fpozar for install tuto, i always do that!
I'am with KU kernel and micro openGapps.
Edit just now have 93000 score at last test... maybe not ready when i've tested before.

Yeah, this is a great ROM, I can't believe how smooth things are, with K10-009 kernel and ondemand governor I get the best performance so far with great battery too! 5h SOT with whole day of stand by. I don't play heavy games though, but never the less, it provides awesome performance while I watch movies, stream youtube, read PDF scripts, browse the web (It can even handle around 5 tabs!). Overall the best ROM I've tried so far (didn't try tesla and aicp).

I've tried aicp, tesla an RR, so this AEX is the best!
Why do you use the k10-09 instead of the last one? 011..
Have you tested the KU version?
What governor used by this rom? or is the kernel that decides the governor?
Have you tested magisk? and the safetyNet test goes to you? i've tried 2 times (full reinstalled) but always 1/2 test passed...
I'm really very curious sorry but I like to know what i do and why x)

I use K10-009 because I once tried a K10-011 version (Linaro I believe) and found that my device was randomly rebooting. It could be that the regular K10-011 version was good and that only the Linaro one would cause crash, but regardless I went through the thread and saw that pretty much everyone was happy with the K10-009 kernel, so I didn't want to reflash and test countless times and went for that. So with that said, I did not try out the KU kernel, I might give it a go next time I do a clean flash, but for now I am more than happy with how the things look.
Also, I'm not sure about Magisk, I believe it has to do with the ROM (while browsing xda subforum for Xiaomi Mi5 I found a ROM whose selling point was the Safety Net pass) so we will just have to wait until dev can help us out...
If you want a full written guide about the governors and stuff, I made one recently (before I tried AEX so instead of Lineage folloe the guide by flashing aex). Link
I agree, best damn room for the ST.
BTW, if you really need to pass both safetynet checks, install "Universal safetynet fix" magisk module and voila!

no miui!!! Los/rr
still no miui until u use a beautifull dragon logo ???
Anyway good work... it's hard to compile a custom kernel to MIUI ? no search a course only time needed to create something like u, maybe with less feature...
Maybe i'll provide a miui version, but sorry, i'm zero interested in flashing any miui ROM to my mix. Means, i'll not test any miui version myself.
Enthusiasts are available to debug and report with logcat...
Cheers
Hi guys,
The developer has stated so many times that he's not interested in developing anything for miui roms. So unless you want him to run away, he's got enough work to do right now. So Have mercy on his soul.
Btw, do you have any idea how hard it is to blindly develope a kernel? It's hard and frustrating.

Link to source in the op. Original dev has a miui branch for the kernel. Sync it an give it a go. If you're able to compile it i could provide the needed changes for making it work on the Mix.
Don't count on me if it comes to a miui version. And please don't spam my thread with Miui version wishes.

I was wondering if it is possible? For you to make a kernel for Epic rom android 6.0 (marshmallow) for those of us who are still waiting for xposed to be released for android 7 ( nougat) and are stacked on marshmallow.

Hi. Mate although i never flashed any of Los/RR builds yet i know them; i everytime read all the comments on all pappschlumpf threads and appreciate all of his works. He used to compile one for miui rom before that we were using it, so it's not that awkward wish to expect a miui kernel from him.
We all see that he's not interested in miui, while he's doing a great job on both rom and kernel line which is incredibly awesome for anyone who picks a part. Also appreciate for your kind donations to him and excitement; quite admirable.
I personally wish such kernel on miui rom which is the secondary main reason for me to buy this device. Ps. I was using miui roms on my both previous s6e+ and Lg g3 devices. I'm like: ''Think about it.''
At the end of the day; such a great device and it's software on it but no kernel development. That is frustrating if you ask me. I'm hearing 'Learn and compile by yourself' lecture in my ears eh, but since there is such a good developer around; we just wish.
Last thing; it's not so blind developing for him, i believe. He's been there before. I know a kernel developer who owns ''a device'' and compiles his kernels for 2 different devices and 27 different variants of those devices. I don't mean anything but ''I have an idea''. So; let 'em keep their wishes since he says ''maybe''. Have a good day.

Sorry guys, mm kernel, from my side a no. If one of you want's to do that job i could help with configs etc. But i'll not invest my rare free time to make a mm kernel.

Great kernel, works stable and fast. I only have one question. When I press the FP reader, it takes some time from the vibration to the screen turning on. Is there a setting that I could change to get that to be a bit faster?
My GF has a Redmi Note 3 and the delay is shorter there. Sorry, but I'm not really advanced when it comes to tweaking kernels. Thanks!
I am on RR and failed to flash as it came up with an error.

Back again!
You may remember me from my SkyDragon kernels for N6/M8/M7/G3 among other devices, I've been off XDA for a year or so, quietly making kernels and roms for myself and personal friends. Decided to come back to show the OP3 some love under my own moniker while the team is on hiatus.
This is the kernel I use as my daily driver, I'm not really looking to add things so if you want more, please find someone/thing else. My goal here to get as much performance out of our device(s) as possible without sacrificing any battery life or stability whatsoever. No Ofast or ffast-math flags that break IEEE and math operations. No beta toolchains. I compile my own toolchains from recent stable release, build them optimizing and targeting a specific processor instead of the whole architecture, and then I use those to build my kernels that are optimized for that same processor. So this kernel is meant to be as stable stock, all the performance, and none of the loss in battery. Anyways, on with the show..
~*~*Information*~*~
Kernel supports all OP3/OP3T devices running OOS Stable 5.0.x or OpenBeta 32-3x(OP3) and 23-2x(OP3T):good:
Kernel source is based on official OnePlus 3/3T openbeta source code :good:
Kernel has been compiled targeting msm8996 specifically :good:
All but C++, AR, objdump compiled with my custom-built Linaro 6.4.1 toolchain with LTO targeting msm8996/SD820/SD821 :good:
C++, AR, objdump from Qualcomm SnapDragon LLVM v6.0.2 targeting kryo :good:
Using ld.lld from clang 7 for linker :good:
No user setup required - optimal settings already applied :good:
~*~*Features*~*~
No user clock-speed modifications
Flar2 sleep/wakegesture features (Disabled by default, no vibration, enable with EX App)
Stock wake gestures still have vibrate functionality
Swappiness set to zero by default (we have plenty of ram)
vfs_cache_pressure set to zero by default (we have plenty of ram)
ZRAM disabled (why write to slow storage when we have all the ram)
Maple IO Scheduler set to default (IMO best balance of performance/battery life)
Westwood TCP Congestion Profile set to default (Personal preference)
CRC Check Toggle-able (disabled by default)(~%30 performance boost when disabled)
FSYNC Toggle-able

I have added a few extras that were missing for sound control, pdesire audio, DCI_P3 mode, tbalden's kcal modificaiton, sultan's battery cycle/charge commit for msm8996, and Tanish2k09's KLapse-Livedisplay.
You may need to disable Play Protect temporarily to install, working on adding to the play store to negate this issue.
Also changed the theme, and updated some stuff.
Work in progress but needed something to fully control my kernel.
Full credits and much love to Grarak for putting in all the hard work on KernelAdiutor, wouldn't be here without his work.
My source for it is here.
This is an OOS Kernel yes? Or is it for Custom ROMs that are not based on OOS too?

May need dm-verity disabled/rooted if you're not already.
Finally posted something.. :good: Ran this for months before I sold my OP3 rock solid no bullsh!t. Good luck with the release!
Thanks ! I'll give a try just for the badass name

Now I understand why my device was soft bricked ?
Fortunately a dirty flash of my firmware was enough, no data loss.
I'll try the new one !
---------- Post added at 12:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:42 AM ----------
Okay so :
- I flashed the 3.7 version and got stuck to OnePlus logo with "Powered by Android"
- I dirty flashed my ROM (BETA 29) and flashed the Kernel immediately after without rebooting and next I flashed Magisk 15 --> It booted
I'll see how the kernel run now.
Looking forward to trying this out! The name alone is pretty cool!
Hi, thank you for your effort for the kernel
Wanna ask, which apps I need to configure the kernel? Kernel Adiutor or EXKM?
Can It work on the H2OS?
Loved your work on my good 'ol M8, so I'm pretty excited to see you here. Thanks (as) always for the work!
Great to see a new kernel! Didn't see any mention about encryption or dm-verity. Does it bypass encryption and dm-verity?
Thanks
Excellent kernel it seems like solves the unbelievable, not compatible with Oreo's mobile phone game Caton problem.
By the way, what will happen if I use it on 7.1.1
Thanks a lot for the new Kernel, dude!
But, I would request you to add flar2 gestures, because in SA Region, it's kinda uneasy to use fp in winter!
came from a custom kernel on an encrypted 3T with magisk 15.2. managed to install this by first restoring stock versions of my system (system.img as opposed to just system) & boot (flashing Xennet's boot images w/ disabled dm-verity also works) backups. booted once to check everything's fine then back to recovery to flash the kernel. didn't need to reflash magisk as the system i restored from was already rooted. HTH someone who wanna try this kernel
thanks for your work, OP. will test & revert
Flashed on beta 19 but it broke wifi, i was on stock kernel before that. Any thoughts?
crDroid is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device also attempting to bringing many of the best features existent today. We're mainly based on LineageOS so use custom kernels compatible with them!

First time installing crDroid to your X01BD, or coming from another ROM:
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
5) Flash gapps
6) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

Android 10 ofcourse.
Hi @legacy07
First of all, thanks for maintaining official crDroid for this phone. As I also mentioned already on your crDroid Pie thread earlier, I really like this ROM. It is based on LineageOS with added customizations which makes it quite a good combo.
However, most of the Custom ROMs here except for the Official LineageOS and Official ArrowOS, use a Kernel which is heavily deviated from the Linux-Stable one. For example, messing with Refresh Rate of screen or unnecessary overclocks (which I don't think actually work). I am not really a fan of such untested, unnecessary additions.
You seem to be using a relatively stable Kernel which seems to be in-line with Linux-Stable (in your Pie Builds). So, I wanted to know which Kernel are you using for this one? The source isn't mentioned here (at the time of writing this). Further, a source with commit history will be really appreciated.
There is one request of mine. Can you put out a standalone LineageOS or ArrowOS Kernel compiled for your crDroid? It would be helpful for guys like me if you don't want to ship that Kernel by default in your builds.
Once again, thanks for maintain such an Amazing ROM for our device.

Well, I haven't decided whether to continue with the kernel "katnis" which was used in pie builds. I made it just because I found some features I used seem missing in the Arrow kernel. In this initial build, i have used the kernel of lineageos. The future depends on the public opinion of this build, afterwards the source will be updated accordingly.
Will there be support for the "smart bar" of navigation buttons, as in Pie?

Crdroid always comes with a safehouse kernel which never supports smart/fast charging or such bleeding edge features. If you need the feature, change the kernel under your own risk

And Navigation bar visibility toggle state won't remain after reboot.

I love crDroid but I can't figure out why 6.0 won't boot up if I remove system apps, even though Music, Mail and Browser which I could remove with no problem in 5.9.

It boots ok.. never thought i would see android 9 on this device.. the only thing i can see they wrong is there is a notification "DolbyAudioService" showing.
Installed, boots OK and is working just fine so far, too! Playing YouTube videos (in the web browser) at 1080p without problems. Great work, thanks a lot!!

This really gives new life to the Shield Tablet! Very, very cool work. Thanks again!
I installed the no Zram version of the ROM. I'm wondering if the Zram one makes a significant performance difference, given how little RAM the tablet has (1 GB); I thought that perhaps the storage performance gains are somewhat offset by the RAM used by the feature...

Yep, can confirm this.
Can confirm the Settings search crash. com.android.phone is shown as the crashing app.
I have another "bug" (not sure what it actually means though).
On every reboot I'm greeted with the message from "Android System":
"There's an internal problem with your device. Contact your manufacturer for details."
As far as I can tell nothing is affected.

Hi
Have that too guess its a problem with the Build Fingerprint check will remove the check later from Framework
There are much more problems currently in this build NvcplHook still not working and shieldtech isnt found even with all patches from Steel01 LineageOs16 Widewine Crypto works but have problems too generate/locate Lvl1 Keys.
Maybe the nxt Build will fix most of the Problems when Steel01 finishes his Vendor/Device Tree cause im using most Parts from that

Hi! Sweet rom
I found some problems with it tho. Firstly I found out headphones doesn't seem to work and then when I tried to play a game(Brawl Stars) all sort of glitchy things appear randomly in the screen, it was pretty glitchy. It's a shame cause it looks so good, i will stick with aex 5.8 which works flawlessly but when all of these problems are solved i won't think about it twice and I will jump straight to this rom. Great work!! Thanks a ton :good:

Yes this Rom isnt really close to stable only a try what already works with Steel01 Sources
for everyday usage better take the 5.8 or any Nougat based Rom
Atm i try to Get AICP14.0 to work but no chance only got it one time boot after that always Bootloop.
Thought Aicp would be easier cause they use more stuff from Lineage Tree but im wrong

Short Info New Rom Version is out

Found a fix that helps me to play Videos without corrupted screen.

Tried this rom again! Saw it's much more improved than before but it's not stable for every day use just yet, as you said, not 100% stable but looking good! Great work, i'll just use AEX 5.8 which works great .
Last but not least, headphones still don't work on AEX 6.7 but well it's an experimental rom so I suppose that will be fixed sometime in the future, it's not that important. Well good luck! Keep up the good work! :good:
Youtube, airtel xtreme playback bug
Playing youtube videos doesn't work I can only hear audio, sometimes glitches sometimes plain green screen
I am attaching screenshot for your reference.

I had problems too with this version. It wouldn't boot and boot back into recovery.
I went back to the previous aosp
Ive tried to follow the Magisk instructions to install Netflix to the letter, but am still unable to download it from the play store? Is this usual?
Also, even with my fastest chargers i get 'Charging slowly', but flashing the BTD file causes the device to not boot at all!
Thanks, though, everything else is great, and glad to see this device getting love!

Back again!
You may remember me from my SkyDragon roms/kernels and HolyDragon kernels for OP7/OP6/6T/OP3/N6/M8/M7/G3 among other devices. This is the latest sdmmagpie kernel+audio source from Google. No plans for any overclocking cpu/gpu that slowly kill your phone. No plans to upstream anything as most of the time there's either no benefit at all or it performs worse than stock. (If it was worth it, Google would have done so already). My only goal, as always, is to get the best performance *and* battery life out of our phone as possible. Kernel zip uses Anykernel3 by Osm0sis to install so no fear of losing root or ramdisk changes or anything.

Alright all, I just need some testers to flash with me and verify we're all good. As far as I can tell, everything works fine. Audio/wifi/bt/gps/etc. all work fine. Just need more people than myself to verify stability and such and we'll move from D.V.(Development Version) to R.V.(Release Version) kernel.
After that I'll work on additional fixes, tweaks, and features. Thanks and please report any findings here :good:
Good to see you and HD around again. It's been since 6T Pie for me. Got my sunfish and already in the lab with some bringups as well. Let's connect and I'll run this and share my other findings as well. (Sidenote: Just scored a 9713 PC Mark first run on stockish 200805.003 , Fajita was barely capable of pulling that consistently)
I Volunteer! Nice to see experimentation. Feedback if and when you need
Thank you

Of course this can go without saying but does not boot on Android 11 beta.... I know, just wanted to try, guess I'll flash A10 firmware so I can run this kernel.

Yes, no beta support. I'll have an 11 kernel when 11 releases. Should be like two weeks or so.
Alright everyone, kernel is just about done and ready for full release. Just want a few more people to verify this one for me.
Far as I can tell we've been 100% stable with zero issues this entire time anyways.
For the R.P.1.1 I've fixed most all the issues in the kernel, set it to performance with full LTO enabled, and have added the usual features and fixes I do on most all my kernels. This runs totally different than the D.V.1.0 release so if you tried that and were disappointed, try this one and see what you think. Will give it a day or two and if all good like I suspect, we'll go to full on Stable release.

Iv'e been using it (DV1.0) since you posted. No issues at all.
Been using R.P.1.1, love it and running great, Thank You
Alright, I think we're good enough for a full on release here. Everything works and works well. No issues or errors reported. Enjoy and let me know if you come across anything, thanks!
I'm loving KCAL support!
As a photographer I love being able to tweak my screen colors to be just right.
I flashed this through Franco's kernel app, it couldn't have been any easier.
Thanks!

I'm thinking of trying this. Will it stop google from spying on me?

What? No, a kernel doesnt do that.

Happy to help.
For the P4a I only adjusted RGB and Saturation values. Out of the box the screen was a bit too warm for me. This is not a perfect Pantone color calibration, which is often quite flat. This is just what I like for average viewing accuracy. Ymmv, as it seems Pixel phones are not all the same.
I wasn't sure what kernel app you use, since my adjustments were simple, I'll just share a screenshot.
