Samsung Gear s2 SM-R732 US Firmware - Samsung Gear S2

Hello all,
I purchased a used Gear s2 SM-R732 that after trying to use it, i found it has firmware: R732XXu2eqc1 installed on it, Is there anyway to get the us XAR firmware to put this back to factory stock?

No idea if this helps you to understand... little bit more:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s2/help/usa-sm-r732-firmware-t3587521
There are only 2 MULTI packages... with MULTI CSC ...
Code:
OXA
OXX
OXA contains 40 countries/Sales Codes...
Code:
SER ---> Russia
DBT ---> Germany
XAR ---> US
+ many more
Only your Sales Code on device select CSC...
You can find out your Sales Code via SDB Tool... only as info..
In other words... you have allready Firmware installed which also use our US friends...
Only Samsung preconfigured it via CSC...
Best Regards

Nice to know but samsung pay is disabled due to the watch having UK firmware on a US model watc , where can I download the xar files(csc, xar, and pit)

Please...
I know my Englsih is worst...
But if you would unpack any Firmware you can find... for instance here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s2/general/gear-s2-firmwares-r720-r732-t3684789
EQH1 for both SM-R720 and SM-732 inside this Thread... for OXA region...
Now use Tool called 7zip to unpack and extract...
Then look into CSC Image...
You will find also for XAR...
Voila... you have your US Firmware...
You need only to know which CSC is ACTIVATED on your Gear...
In other words you have to change CSC... to XAR on your device.
BUT there are also other Security related CRAP... for SPay...
For instance... look at this Video...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73982855&postcount=213
Only as info.
Best Regards

So if I don't care about samsung pay, I just download the firmware above, grab 7zip and extract it, pull the xar out and I have my firmware file to flash. So how do I change my csc on the watch? I still don't know how someone rooted this thing and flashed UK firmware to it.

Don't I also need a pit file?

1.
I have rooted SM-R732 Firmware...
2.
Seems you not understand what I mean...
No matter of UK or US or what ever...
IMPORTANT is Bits and Bytes SET on your device...
To check ACTIVE CSC on your device...
You can use Tool SDB... and fire up simple Command by Copy and Paste...
Maybe look into this post... user has attached 2 Pics... maybe usefull for you...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73518544&postcount=158
3.
PIT is inside CSC...
BUT you NOT need Flashing something!
Maybe better learn before you destroy something...
4.
What is on your Devcice? As I told 2 packages exists... OXX and OXA...
Hard Core Hacker Code for you:
Code:
*#1234#
In the output you can see if you have OXA or OXX Firmware on your device... concentrate your eyes on CSC name:
Code:
R732OXA
or
R732OXX
5.
Again... The MANDATORY part is the Sales Code on device... NOT where you paid this device...
Software can also change Sales Code... by accident or by...
So IMHO good idea to check which Sales Code is set/written...
In Computer "science" it is possible to read exact data...
No need of smell, feel or Crystal Ball or something in this direction...
Simple READ the data from device.
Best Regards
Edit 1.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72316231&postcount=158
Here is for instance few Screenshots, how I can see Sales Code in rooted BOKK Firmware via funny Codes...
CSC Verifier and CSC Pre-config is on my Screenshots...
Only as info.
Link to rooted BOOK Firmware is in theory also in this Thread... no idea if allready expired...
CAUTION! Own risk.
Best Regards

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S Odin

Dear fellow Galaxians
I have a problem..recently I flashed my Galaxy S with i9000xxjpy. This caused change of product code from TOP (Serbia) to KOR. Also, I lost Serbian swype
How to:
-stay on this version of firmware
-have Serbian swype (TOP product code)
When I flashed with Odin I only had one .tar file which I put to PDA (I didn't have separate modem and csc file).
Now, would the solution be to flash again with the same file and to separately add some Multi CSC file containing TOP product code?
Would it get back swype on Serbian ?
Thns for any help

'The" one file which is the ruler of them all and sets up the CSC files to use?

Can someone tell me what is 'the' one specific file which dictates to the phone what set of CSC files to use?
Original SM-G930S phone, now with 8+ ROM shows as G955F
phone code entry of *#1234#, tells me the following:
AP: G955FXXU1AQGB
Model: SM-G955F, which is also stated in the About Phone model too.
CP: G930SKSU1DQJ1, which is also stated in the About Phone for baseband.
and
CSC: G955FOXM1AQGB, however, an app called CSC Features Expert indicates that my CSC is ED00023-USA-XAA.
I've downloaded a CSC zip for USA, Nougat7-TMB-CSC-Custom_Rom. I followed the instructions here:
https://www.sammobile.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31670, putting the file/directory into system/ and leaving the directory inside system, from the zip as CSC. It contains the following TMB setting files, please see photo. So the directory structure reads root/system/CSC/files in the photo.
After reboot nothing has changed. When I go into Settings/Connections/Data Usage/Service provider settings/ region and service provider. These come up with China info only.
I was going to flash this via TWRP, however this file has a warning that if is for G930F, G935F, and G930FD. My 'original phone is 'SM-G930S'. After I put 8+ ROM on it, it identifies as G955F, so I did not flash as it warned of bricking.
Feedback on solving this would be appreciated.

Could someone help me root Gear S3 Frontier SM R760 R5AKB0F0JRK

Hello guys, I have previous experience with rooting and Odin but I would not want to risk it with the watch.
l do not know whether the procedure is the same.
l am asking to see whether someone managed to root it or even flash some custom ROM if possible.
Thank you in advance!

Maybe I could maybe help...
You have allready Tizen 4.0.0.7 on your SM-R760?
I mean this:
Code:
R760XXU2[B]FTD4[/B]/R760OXA2FTD4

I am on 4.0.0.4 R760XXU2ESF2.
RAMDISK from Combination Firmware CRB1
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81794475&postcount=841
Rooted rootfs.img for SM-R760 ESF2
https://www.file-upload.net/download-13897188/2020_ROOT_smR760_ESF2_and_CSC_v3.7z.html
-------------------------------------------------
You need netOdin.
A
MANDATORY flash FIRST RAMDISK to allow modified rootfs.img
B
Round 2 with netOdin. My modified TAR with rootfs.img + csc.img inside.
C
Then you can use it with Tool SDB...
OWN RISK!
If you have questions ask FIRST, before you try something.
Best Regards
Sorry for disrupting this post, but I also want to root my r760n. I am currently on 4.0.0.4 R760XXU2ESG1. If I understand correctly I need to get a rooted rootfs.img which I need to flash after your ramdisk. Where can I get the rootfs? BTW your rootfs.img link for ESF2 is broken. And what about flashing the scs.img? Will I still be able to change my CSC by launching that switcher app via sdb? What steps should I take to get my gear S3 rooted? And will SPay still work after rooting the watch?
@mikamika135790
Downloaded from Link and for me work
Code:
2020_ROOT_smR760_ESF2_and_CSC_v3.7z
Can you please give details what exactly is broken?
You can not download or downloaded file is corrupted or?
Code:
And will SPay still work after rooting the watch?
At the moment not both things at same time possible...
Reason(s)
A
I am from Germany... No Samsung Pay
No problem for me to use Root.
B
Maybe someone else can find solution to hide Root...
Best Regards
Okay I found out that NextDNS is blocking the site. Is that file still compatible with my model?
I am located in Luxembourg and we also don't have real SPay capabilities but I was hoping that the PayPal method has been made available by now.
@mikamika135790
Seems we have both SM-R760 Gear S3 Frontier...
Only tiny difference... you have now:
Code:
R760XXU2ESG1
And I have only uploaded ESF2..
Ehm in theory this is possible to mix... better and safer to match Firmware Version on device and modded files...
Maybe before we proceed...
A
You are able to work with SDB Tool?
Minimum skills is to Copy and Paste:
Code:
sdb root on
B
You can handle netOdin? To flash correct files...
C
Root only work in combination with PC Tool SDB...
So I hope you have good reason... to take the risks...
Best Regards
sdb seems to be like adb but Samsung specific, so I think I am able to work with it. I think I am also able to work with netOdin, provided I get proper directions for the files provided. And I also have a second Gear S3 frontier if something goes terribly wrong. Is there a modified ramdisk for my firmware or is there a way/guide to modify it myself if the file doe not exist yet? Thanks
Mandatory step is to flash RAMDISK first:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81794475&postcount=841
It is taken from Combination Firmware CRB1...
It is unmodified...
Only unpacked and repacked as 1 file into 1 TAR...
IMHO this would be your first step.
Yes, IMHO I have several times posted how to make own ROOT... all inside linked Thread...
I am too lazy to search now...
Maybe good idea, to prevent later mistakes...
Make first Photo from your Odin Mode aka Download... Example:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73607036&postcount=1
No need to post here... only as Backup for you.
IMHO my Root method NOT kill Knox...
But no idea if you do own experiments...
OWN RISK!
Best Regards
Okay, thank you. I found your 2020_summary_Rooting_v1.zip file which I suppose is the most up to date one. It seems as if you only have to copy some files into the rootfs.img and destroy a string for the dm-verity. I could simply mount the rootfs under my linux machine and manualy copy the files and edit that string and it would stilll work? Thanks
In theory yes.
For study you can use the unmodified ESF2 Firmware files...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=82568511&postcount=882
For new Tizen 4.0.0.7 FTD4 Firmware my method work too.. for me.
Changes...
I have flashed RAMDISK of SM-R500 Combination Firmware and also take files... from Batch...
So IMHO it would be possible to root Tizen 4.0.0.x with same files for:
Code:
Gear S3 like SM-R760
GW like SM-R800
GWA1 like SM-R500
in theory also GWA2 like SM-R820... not tested yet...
Best Regards
Okay, thank you very much. As you are from Germany, I suppose that your CSC is set to Germany. Is the setting of the CSC related to the final 4 characters of the firmware (like ESF2 and ESG1)? And where does one get the rootfs for the firmwares? Are they in an update package which can be found on a samsung repository or can you only get them by chance from a combination file? Thanks
Not exact sure what you need...
A
BT only Watches have 1 package for ALL CSC aka Sales Code...
SM-R760 is BT only Watch... here only OXA Region with all 70 + CSC...
Code:
XAR
DBT
.
.
KOO
You can find them inside csc.img...
B
To find Firmware Files...
You can click here around in few Threads... or search by Google for free avalaible files...
Looks like this:
Code:
BL_R760XXU2ESG1_usr.tar.md5
AP_R760XXU2ESG1_usr.tar.md5
CSC_OXA_R760OXA2ESG1_usr.tar.md5
Brazil CSC ZTO for instance was the only with
Code:
AP_R760XXU2[B]ESI1[/B]_usr.tar.md5
New Firmware FTD4 for ALL CSC "avaliable"...
Also as leaked...
But I have NO Original FTD4 files... only dumped from SM-R760 with RDX Tool and USB cable...
Maybe somebody can share the Original Files of FTD4...
Best Regards
OKay, I found the ESG1 firmware on some firmware site with arab font and I presumably would have to purchase it. But downgrading to maybe ESF2 would be possible if I understand correctly? And is your FTD4 dump available as an archive file like BL_ etc or do I need the original one? Sorry for bothering you with my many questions, I am new to the Gear S3 scene And where do I put what into netOdin? I repacked csc.img into a tar file which will be put under csc. Does the ramdisk go in the first run under bl or is that for an sboot file? And the rootfs.img as a tar will go under AP?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=82763599&postcount=206
FTD4 ""official"" Firmware Files...
Thanx to Uploader. :good:
So I can next days upload rooted FTD4...
Best Regards
Just tried rooting my second watch which is now stuck on the frontier bootlogo. I am very certain that I effed up somewhere so here are my steps.
The watch was on an ESE firmware and I downloaded your ESF2 rooted files from the main root post. I also downloaded the combination files. I extracted the combination firmware and put the files from inside there into folders called csc, bl and ap. I then put the csc.img from your 2020 zip from the post and replaced the csc.img file I got from the combination zip and placed into the csc folder. I placed the rootfs.img I got from your 2020 zip into the ap folder, replacing the one that came with the combination file. Finally I downloaded the dzimage from the post and put it into the bl folder, replacing the original one. Then I tared them all into seperate tar archives, loaded them into netodin and flashed them in AP mode. After flashing was done, my watch is now stuck at the frontier bootimage. What did I miss?

Download Wireless still work?

Okay I got way confused at the multiple instructions. Sorry. I try to follow now.
Wireless still works. Ap mode too.
According to your Photo.
Knox is now 1...
Bye bye Samsung Pay for now.
My suggestion...
Flash normal Stock Firmware of your choice....
FTD4 for instance...
I hope you are able now to follow posts and links and you can successfully download FTD4 Firmware...
For netOdin maybe you can use this Link as help:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73503787&postcount=150
If I have time I will root FTD4 and upload...
Maybe we try then again...

Change CSC code R775A

Hello everyone,
I am trying to change CSC code at my R775A but with no succed Watches are AT&T US version.
When I tried this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...to-xar-to-enable-samsung-pay-sm-r770.3718236/ after flash the combination FW i was unable to open *#272*719434266344#, nothing happened.I Think that I was on old Tizen (2.3.2.1) which is not supported for this.
Tried the method via sdb tools on Tizen 3 after command "launch_app csc-manager.csc-pre-configuration" CSC manager opened, but there was only one option "AT&T".
So tried the hardest way for me with Tizen studio and change the files "csc-active-customer.inf" and "prodcode.dat" to BTU CSC code (want to run samsung pay with curve solution). But after flashed the stock (AP,BL and CSC), the CSC is probable again changed to US (I'm not fully sure if checking this information right - looking at *#1234#). So now I'm stuck at the latest stock ROM and scared to do some tricky changes which could brick the watches.
Thinking about changing the files now via tizen studio on the stock FW, but do not know if it is possible and might be complete brick...?
Other method which is on my mind - flash the combination FW, make changes to BTU CSC code (Tizen studio) and then flash only AP and BL - complete bullsh*t or is it possible?
Or is not workaround to inject BTU CSC option?
Is there any more security with LTE versions of this watches and it is impossible change them to other FW and CSC?
Actual FW of my watches: AP: R775AUCU1DTE1; CP: R775AUCU1AQD2; CSC: R775AATT1DTE1
I Appreciate every advice! and sorry for my english
You can not choose by dreaming CSC...
You can select between script files inside "CSC"... in this case I mean csc.img...
Use Tool 7zip to extract files from csc.img...
Then I hope you better understand...
BTU is NOT inside US ATT Firmware...
Best Regards
Hello adfree,
thank you for clarify this.
I looked at the csc.img and as you said there is only ATT CSC.
There is no chance to add to this csc.img another CSC from another csc.img FW?

Samsung - how to write new CSC from different model firmware?

Hi, not sure if this is in the right place.... there doesn't seem to be a "Samsung General" forum.
Anyway, I've got my hands on the firmware for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930A - snapdragon SoC), and I've extracted the CSC portion of the firmware to my PC. I'm hoping that I can use this CSC to make my Canadian S7 (SM-G930W8 - exynos SoC) compatible with AT&T's VoLTE service.
First, can someone direct me to a suitable guide for making a zip file that I can flash in TWRP to modify a system (rather than a complete system)?
Second, can someone tell me how to figure out what part of the image needs to go into this zip file?
I think I'm starting too big trying to make a zip file. Now I'm thinking that I first just need to figure out how to get a /system/csc/ATT/ folder created and the contents written into it, then figure out how to switch the phone to that CSC instead of the current one. Any suggestions? I'm currently using ALEXNDR's DevBase for the SM-G930F.
