Firmware Install Issue
Hello,
I have an E6883 with the Singapore Firmware and am trying to install the India version. I keep getting an error indicating that the phone needs to have USB Debugging and Unknown Sources set to allow. I have these settings turned on, but I keep getting this same error.
The phone has Developer Options activated. In the Developer Options, I have OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging both activated. In the Lock Screen & Security, I have Unknown Sources activated also. Even with these settings - I keep getting the same USB Debugging and Unknown Sources error message.
I am using Flashtool Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde, on the following...
Device: Xperia Z5 Premium dual (E6883)
CDA: 1299-2163
Market: Singapore
Operator: Customized SG
Network: GENERIC
Version: 32.4.A.0.160 / R1E
Desired would be as follows:
Device: Xperia Z5 Premium dual (E6883)
CDA: 1299-6238
Market: India
Operator: Customized IN
Network: GENERIC
Version: 32.4.A.1.54 / R3E
Suggestions to get past the error would be appreciated.
thank you,

1. please always mention your boot (lock/unlock) status, & USB DEBUGGING setting has nothing to do with flashing. infact you device should be turned off during this whole process! , let me write down steps from begining , i am sure most of them is covered but in my experience , xperia flashing will fail even if small step is overlooked..
2. install xperia companion
3. install flashtool ( flashtool.net)
4. After installation goto c:\flashtool\drivers and install the package! select all mobiles (not recomended for me) but you can do it.
5. it will keep giving you digital signature verifivation error, CONTINUE ANYWAYS
6. after installation open flashtool and let it sync from github
7. now connect device in FASTBOOT MODE ( while pluggin usb in to z5p, keep the VOLUME UP Key PRESSED) (BLUE LED) ,,, some drivers will automatically get installed
8. then unplug the device, few seconds later connect it again in FLASHMODE (while pluggin usb in to z5p, keep the VOLUME down Key PRESSED) (GREEN LED) ,, some drivers will automatically get installed
9 now your pc has all the pretext requirement covered
10. I am assuming you already have FTF file with you! and you are just looking way to reflash different build. select the firmware and under WIPE SECTION tick all the availble checkboxes to flash everything with CLEAN WIPE. this will erease everything in your device. click flash and when FLASHTOOL ASKS you to connect your device, connect it in FLASHMODE (GREEN LED) . THE flashing will take atleast 20 mins and the closing of LAST HEADER at 99.9% take so longer that some time user thinks , flashtool has hung , be patient it will complete and you will get prompt.
11. remove cable, reboot,
NOTES
1. the above narrative is for 64BIT windows BASED PC ( win7 recomended)
2. if you are using win10 then disable digital signature verification ( search tutorial)
3. i am assuming that you never unlocked your bootloader. (it makes huge difference) if you want we can go into the details
4. I am also assuming that you have taken necessary backup of you data.

Why does the update information screen appear?
I can not cancel .it gets annoying. It's a ridiculous thing.

Thank you for the great work.

Unlock bootloader and root live with Walkman (2011 Xperia devices)

When I purchased Sony live with Walkman I was not sure that I can use it to root and use customized rom. As earlier I lost my galaxy fit resulted in bricking So I worked cautiously on rooting and bootloading project I will start with unlock bootloader As when you purchase xperia you will find your boot loader locked as to prevent user to modify ROM or to prevent malware to infect your mobile. But if you want to take full control over your mobile you need to unlock it. That's a bit risk but you have to take it anyhow. To unlock click http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/here. After unlocking enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu. In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. You will see boot loader unlocked yes. That was the most toughest part. Now you need Flashtool that is the solution of all rooting programs. It is developed by androxide . Click http://androxyde.github.com/here to get latest version of Flashtool for PC depending upon your OS. After installing Flashtool on pc go in C drive you will see a folder named Flashtool there inside you will find drivers folder inside that folder you will find drivers instal package instal it for your mobile. My mobile is live with Walkman so I installed xperia mini pack in it Now the next step will be flashing kernel and you have to select kernel as per your mobile. The best kernel for live with Walkman is Rage Kernel and the Link for this kernel is http://naw32fsystem.blogspot.in/2012/04/how-to-overclock-live-with-walkman.html?m=1here Well I have installed Rage Kernel because it will instal CWM Recovery and super user by itself means your mobile will be rooted HOW TO FLASH KERNEL 1) move rage kernel in your PC 2) switch of your mobile and attach cable holding volume UP so that blue led will glow up that is called FASTBOOT mode here your PC will automatically instal ADB drivers ( windows 7). For windows XP please Google it 3) Open Flashtool and you will see device connected written 4) Click the Flash icon on top left you will find a sub menu FASTBOOT and FLASHMODE 5) Click on FASTBOOT and a menu will appear click on option-" select kernel to flash". 6) Browse Rage kernel it will be -boot.img file . Select that kernel and THATS IT.

Before trying backup ta cuz if it brick you can restore from backup or brick ta mean hard brick device that only sony can fix.
This trick worked on Xperia e1 so maby work on E3 also.
Does this method works on Xperia E3 D2206/D2243??
Does this method work with Xperia E3 D2206/D2243 ?? @vinay What do you think?
I am telling this because around a half month ago, I get rooted in my phone (D2206 model) using D2203 boot img file. Thanks for all
@lexiyuri I believe you can flash lollypop aosp and use this method to root it.
I wanna tell you that D2212 root method work on d2202 cause it supports it's kernel. Now sony released 4.4.4 on d2202 and I,ve flashed d2202 FTF on my D2212 and it is working like charm.
And an FTF contains
Boot
System
Fotakernel
Userdata
And may more.
But aosp only contains userdata.img system.img boot.img and I bet it will work.
Cause in FTF we need all partition,s compatible but in aosp just 3 and if you see cycle of phone boot you only need one compatible and it is boot which is already compatible.

[Q] How to Root Sony Xperia M2 Dual [D2302 - Kitkat 4.4.4] ?

I just bought a new Sony Xperia M2 Dual [D2302] running Kitkat 4.4.4
This is the first time i am facing difficulty in rooting an Android device, it appeared rooting method for v4.3,v4.4.2 & v.4.4.4 is different.
That's why i am lost and need it help.
Is there someone that can exactly guide me how to root my M2 Dual D2302 - Kitkat 4.4.4
My boot-loader is locked, and all i need is the root access to remove some un-necessary pre-installed apps.
Help would be appreciated.

[Q&A][Root]Rooting with Locked Bootloader - NO OTA Method
Xperia M2 D2303 on K.K. 4.4.4
Thanks mate!
Yes I can help you.
I've the same device.
First, don't use the JB kernel given in that thread. It's for D2303. You'll have to get JB kernel of D2302 which is unfortunately not available. For that you'll have to download JB rom and it's build number ends with .23. You can find the download it's easy. After that download D2302 4.4.4 kitkat stock rom US based or Generic Indian version, both work fine.
So now you've two kernels. Before flashing, switch on USB debugging and allow mock locations and check if flashtool shows USB debugging on when you connect your not rooted phone.
Flash only JB kernel NOT THE ROM EVEN BY MISTAKE. Flashtool will show kernel.sin and loader.sin. That's it. After flashing done, boot up and connect USB cable. Phone will be stuck in bootloop. Now get easyroottool. You can get it on xda no worries. Run install.bat. If script fails to work, try 4-5 times. It'll work. Try both options Run and Run as admin. Follow the script and you'll see cleaning up then press CTRL C press Y. Disconnect and connect again, and flashtool will show that your phone has root access. This is half root tho. Okay so the mind f*cking process is done.
After this you'll need a safety pin to switch off the phone. Open the sim card flap and you'll see the off button. After switching off the phone, just flash your kitkat stock kernel. Boot up the phone. Connect it. This step you'll need adb. Goto where your adb files are and there open command prompt by holding shift and right click.
Just run this command --> adb shell "su -c /data/local/tmp/installmount.sh"
It's actually install_tool.sh but since we've used easyroottool, it has installmount.sh
That's it. Fully rooted. Install SuperSu and install binary as normal and you're done.
Anything more you need then i can help you

[Q] No Flashmode Xperia D2302

Hi Everyone,
I am having an issue since last one month. Researched a lot but nothing helped me.
I tried to flash my xperia m2 dual (D2302) with a custom rom (MIUI V5, from ROMs section). I got the devices booted but when I realized lots of bugs in the ROM, I planned to switch back to stock ROM. I had flashed stock ROM couple of times earlier and so I follow the flash instructions again. I then realized the device is not booting in flashmode. Whenever I am connecting the device while switched off with holding the volume down button, A green led flashes and goes off. The flashtool says
Device connected with USB debugging off.
For 2011 line devices, make sure you are not in MTP mode.
I tried a lot but couldn't resolve the problem. Then I found CM11 nightly build. With that ROM I am using my device but it also has two major issues.
1) Sudden reboots (while chatting or while playing games)
2) No audio after using device for an hour or so after reboot. Reboot solves the problem for an hour but audio goes off again after one or one and half hours.
I want to go back to stock ROM. But unable to do so because of no flash mode.
For information:
1) I am using 64Bit windows 8.1 (I had flashed my xperia d2302 with this machine a couple of times before I flashed MIUI V2)
2) Drivers are properly installed, USB cable changed but not luck
I request everyone with the android development knowledge, please help me out. I am a newbie in this area and so don't know much. Please let me know how can I resolve the flashmode problem or can I revert to stock ROM using a way other than flashmode.
Or if you can tell me how can I fix the CM11 sudden reboot and no audio issues.
Please help me out. Please
The way to get in to flashmode is to make sure your phone is turned OFF , then you just have to connect your phone to a USB while holding volume down.
If you can't get it right this way, you could always try to flash trough fastboot, first of all go to your device information, where you can find your Android version etc. ... tap the build number for like 5-6 times , so the developer options become visible in the options.
Then in the developer option , turn ADB debugging on, connect your device with your computer.
Make sure you got the adb drivers installed and fastboot drivers also for your device.
Whenever your computer connects trough adb with your phone, you gotta allow the connection by allowing it on your phone. (There will be a pop-up screen).
Then you gotta make sure you got Android SDK installed, there will be a map called SDK, open it and then open the platform-tools map.
Move your kernel, recovery, and system images you want to install into this map too. ( Take one which is able to boot in Flashmode)
Then you gotta open up a command window. My path to the map is C:\SDK\Platform-tools, to get to the map you use the cd command, like this:
cd C:\SDK\platform-tools
then first of all make sure you got a backup of all your images etc. just in case....
in the command window type,
adb reboot fastboot
then these ones (all seperatly):
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
After it is done succesfull you can type
fastboot reboot
You can try to be quick and allready press the volume down button to boot in flashmode.
Otherwise you gotta turn off your phone and try it again.
Hope to hear it works....
Xperia devices use FTF files for flashing. I don't have the stock boot.img and I am unable to get it.
I extracted the FTF but I got lots of sin files. I don't know how can I create boot.img from these.
Do you have any idea about it? Or if you have boot.img for Xperia D2302, please post me link for the same.
Thanks for the reply.

You don't have to extract anything, load whole ftf in Flashtool and leve unchecked Kernel (if that's what you want to flash) you'll flash only Kernel.

What's the problem? What Windows you use? Does your phone get recognized by pc(do you have all drivers instaled)? Do you have PC companion installed?
If you do, there is power off button by the sim card, press it then try to connect usb while holding volume down.
Try to repair your phone with PC companion. Then see if the problem is solved.
Good Luck!

Yes. The phone is being detected by PC. I am able to get into fastboot mode but not in flash mode.
Pc Companion is installed. I am using windows 8 64 bit. Drivers are installed properly. I tried repairing the phone with pc companion but it is not detecting the phone while repairing.
May be the boot partition is corrupted. What recovery are you using? If you are using cwm then can you send me the boot.img from the stock rom cwm backup?
This may solve my problem.

Hi Dzepar,
After a long time am reverting back. I am still facing the same issue. The boot image that you sent is not being installed. It's saying "not a valid boot image".
Are you still using M2 Dual?
If yes, Can you send me a fresh CWM backup of your ROM so that I can make my phone usable. Please.

Hello, and welcome to XDA! You could try going into developer options (tap 7 times on your build number to access) and enabling USB debugging. Then you should be able to flash CWM in fastboot mode. There is also an app called Flashify, which you could try using to flash your recovery. Alternatively, you could try asking your question in the help forum for your device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-c/help.
Good luck!
