I am using this app on my rooted charge and I just purchased the paid version. I am curious why I have to go into this app and reset the headphone amplifier to the =5db every time the phone restarts. From the screen shots for the paid version in the app store it looked like I could have it force on at bootup but maybe I am crazy? Is anyone else having this issue with voodoo control for the sound volume? So basically as I see it the paid version gives you a headset bass boost and thats pretty much it. Am I missing something?
This probably doesn't answer your question (total guess), but if you hit the menu button while in VooDoo Control Plus, you can select "kernal module options". In that menu you can select "Load sound driver" and "Load driver at boot". I haven't tried these settings because I have no idea what they do and don't want to screw anything up. I got the app because I wanted to increase the headphone volume and am overwhelmed by the app. I don't know what pretty much all of the settings do and I can't find any tutorials or help menus anywhere!
so i love the viper audio mod. but in the driver status windows, it says the driver isnt processing the audio, which of course means viper isnt in effect. There were a few people who have said they have gotten it to work on our phone, but they havent stated how. So does anyone know how to get viper to kick into effect

Did you check "enable" from within the app? Also, what player are you using. I couldn't get it to work with PowerAmp but it seems to work fine with the stock music player.

yes i did, and you need to turn off direct volume control in poweramp in order for viper to take effect for it. i use poweramp, but what player im using doesnt matter if the audio driver isnt processing the audio in the first place. I use viper mostly for the phone speaker

Initially I could only get Viper to work in compatible mode, which is not what I wanted. In normal mode it wasn't processing like you said. I fixed it by converting viper to a system app with titanium backup. After rebooting it would work in normal mode.
I guess the driver wasn't loading when it needed to in the early part of the boot up process as it was installed as a user app, not a system app.
Hope this helps!
Hello, i noticed since the first CM13 nightlies that the application AudioFX wasn't working properly. Let me explain step by step:
I've always been with the stock rom until COS12, after this one i switched to CM12.1 nightlies and then snapshots and as far as now no problem with AudioFX. When i switched to CM13 nighlies all the problems begun; first of all, most of the times it just wasn't working and to fix it i needed to reboot the phone and would have worked only until the first application that was opening an audio stream was closed (hope i've explained clearly), more precisely i was and using Spotify. Now, when "working" the sounds just did not seem correct... By correct i mean that the same song under same preset in CM/COS12.1 was completely different: highs crystal clear, bass well defined and not crackling and the MaxxVolume feature working. In addition now, with COS13 instead of not working the equalizer modify completely the sounds distorting them to something strange but still the song is recognisable. It happen both on A2DP and jack.
Furthermore i've noted that in the latest COS12.1 build and CM12.1 snapshot the MaxxVolume feature is not working.
I hope i've been enough clear to address correctly the problem. Does anyone else have encountered the same issue?
AudioFX really enhance the output audio and for me it's a core feature for my phone, I am right now switching back to CM12.1.
Here the same thread on OnePlus forums: https://goo.gl/yvDhMO
Same same on my opo & z2 tablet ;(ndont know how to fix it
Two ways I found to fix the prob with audiofx on Cm13 or 6.0.1 M in other words
So, First and easiest way, have the audiofx running, (check if the app is running from settings for 100% and then the widget that appears usually on the toolbar that extends from the top of your screen that it shows its on too!) Then run a song, unplug headphones, and the music should stop(tested on spotify) plug in again and resume song, should work
2.
The bit more complicated way
If you have the app running and a song playing, and it doesn't enhance the sound, check the toolbar mentioned in the first way, and if the app is on from settings, mostly in my cases on my OPO cm13 I see that the app is on but the widget shows that its not, don't know whats up with that, but you need to find a way to kill the widget and the app, then restart the app and try to get them both enabled, this is usually resolved on my case that I kill them both, the widget and the app, then play a music, start the app, unplug the headphones and replug them and resume song, Hope this helps you guys! Hope this gets fixed soon!
Problem with audio
AUDIO FX STOPED Working
No sound
No microphone works
No call sound
First way works for me. AudioFX is useful but way too buggy.

I flashed this on my Zuk Z1, with Cm13 rom.
After this, the speakers stopped working. Even the ring tone has muted. There was no change even after I uninstalled it. HELP!

But this is clearly for the OnePlus One not Zuk Z1....
You might have to manually alter the mixer_path.XML... Try
How to Manually adjust...
1.Using a root Explorer(ROM toolbox, ES, etc.) go to system/etc.
2.Open mixer_path.xml with an built in xml editor.
3.Values you need to adjust are close to the bottom of the file. Description is pretty self explanatory.
4.See image below. The values I have set to "88" can be changed to affect Speaker and headphones. Now edit your values.( Left Screenshot)
To adjust in-call volume. Go back to mixer_paths.xml. Look for the "ear" path under analog output devices. Edit volume value, save and reboot.
The image below has the value set to "93". Edit this value. (Right Screenshot)
If this doesn't work then you need to reflash a CM13 ROM for the Zuk Z1...

Thanks a lot, but it didn't work, i guess I'll have to reflash anyway.
Hi, Im not sure if this is right place to post this. I've never rooted phone before, and i want to root my Xperia Z5 Dual, only because i heard you can increase volume. This phone has low headphone volume IMO. i can listen without problem in quiet places but sometime when im outside i cant hear song even in full volume. even my Iphone 4 had louder volume. So what i wanted to ask is if i increase volume when i root, will it decrease sound quality? there are some apps that dont require root to increase volume but then phone sounds terrible so is it worth it to root my phone for this reason? I'm aware i might brick the phone too.
AFAIK you can increase the headphone volume by editing "root dir/etc/mixer_paths.xml" and finding <path name="headphones"> and editing values from there.
I'm not exactly sure what values to change as I had only done this a long, long while ago with my old Z3. A quick google search will get you going though.
Rooting shouldn't decrease quality but unlocking the bootloader MAY (and I mean may because I am not sure what unlocking the bootloader disables on this specific device) disable some sony sound 'enhancement' software on the stock ROM.
Another option (and the way I do it) is to root using magisk and install magisk manager. Then through the manager you can download and install modules. You'll want to install the "ViPER4Android FX" module by ViPER520, ZhuHang, Ahrion, and Zackptg5. Within the viper4android app you can set various sound enhancements. Just looking through real quick I can see output gain and playback agc settings.
If viper4android is not processing/enabled you can try going into your phone sound > accessory settings and turn on automatic optimization and/or install the magisk module "Audio Compatibility Patch"
Is there any way to increase the output to Bluetooth devices? I have had luck using volume booster by GOODEV on the play store on my Samsung devices. Doesn't seem to work on the z4 though. Somehow got it to work once but after quit the app never worked again. Have tried just about all related apps and no go. Almost like internal sound driver is overriding the app. I use xiialive To stream and if I use that internal equalizer I can get a very brief boost in volume while toggling on/off then immediately goes back to lower output. Anything sound related I can disable that might be interfeering or manual edit a xml file?

Have you checked Developer Options? There's a few BT settings in there that might solve the problem.
Tried messing with them just now. No luck. I did get volume booster to work again once until exited it then back to no increase after re-entering it again
