Stuck on boot logo animation - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello forum,
I am running lineage os 14.1 on my OPO, and i wanted to root it to put up some themes.
So i rooted it with magisk, and everything went fine, phone booted up i installed substratum
I downloaded and applied the theme, and here is where something went wrong, my phone restarted and got stuck on boot logo, i let it sit for 20 minutes and nothing happened
I tried:
wiping cache and dalvik
installing substratum rescue zip
fix contexts
removed substratum and theme via file manager
I made a backup of my data partiton and wiped it, and phone is working now, problem is i didn't back up my viber messages, and i don't feel like losing them
Is there any way to save those messages or should i just deal with it and move on
Thanks

Tl;Dr: Lineage os 14.1 doesn't support OMS just yet, which means many of the substratum themes that require OMS to work correctly, won't work. You may, however, give try to themes which works without OMS.
PS: As you might know, you can always use @idprophecy 's unofficial los, which has both substratum and color engine by default.

[Q] [Help] Flashing ROM works fine, freezes on splash screen on boot when restarted.

I'm just gunna give you the whole story.
I'm using TWRP Recovery.
I'm coming back to my d2vzw after a couple weeks of not using it (I got a different phone through work). I'm now back to using my GS3. I decided to update to the latest ROM version. I installed the slimROM stable that was just released, it was slow and they animations were choppy (which is really weird for slim). So I decided to try a different ROM. I've used carbon before, and I really like active display and HALO, so I decided to install that. It installed just fine, installed all my apps, rebooted. It froze on the initial splash screen, didn't even get to the boot animation. So I figured it was just a bad install, so I formatted and flashed from my external SD. Again, first boot just fine, then froze on second boot. So I put a https://plus.google.com/+AlexKruger/posts/dJGXsrAZvj4 in the ROM's community. They suggested that it might be a bug from installing it from my external. So I formatted, then moved the files over to internal, and flashed again. It booted fine, I got to the home screen and restarted before I did anything else. Froze, again. Then someone suggested, that I format, install it, boot all the way, reboot into recovery, wipe cache/dalvik and dirty flash from internal storage. Did it, froze on reboot. So I formatted one more time, and went to boot into recovery while figured out what to do, I accidentally booted into the system. It booted just fine, I went through the set up and activation screens, and it worked. So I rebooted, froze. Then someone suggested I switch recoveries, so I installed the latest CWM recovery, and tried everything all over again, still freezes on reboot.
I know I could just use a different ROM, but it's gotten to the point that I need to fix it. I want to get it to work because F*** you.
Please any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

[Resolved] [Q] Soft Bricked LG G2, what do I do?

Howdy.
I royally screwed up somehow and my G2 on Sprint is now soft bricked.
So here's what happened: I had been running an unofficial CM 10.2 ROM on my phone and I saw that the official nightlies were available and apparently pretty stable, so I decided to try that out. I backed up what I need and went into TWRP to wipe system and I flashed the original G2 ROM so that I could update PRL before I dove into CM 11. Well, when it booted into the stock ROM, it started to download a new update which I couldn't stop and it rebooted to install it. I figured there was no harm in that, but it turns out there was because it would not install and it was stuck at 0% for a good hour, so I decided to force it to shut down, wipe the system and re-flash the unofficial CM, but it wouldn't boot.
Everything I tried only went straight into TWRP and I have become stuck there. Well, I did the stupid thing and I advanced wiped my system and cleared the internal storage as well because I thought that might help. Now I have no backup, but it charges through the usb cable and I can ADB push files for installation. So far, all of my efforts to install and boot a ROM have not worked and I am currently in a state of TWRP limbo and can't get out.
Any suggestions as to what I can do? Thanks.
how did you solve it? I've the same problem
this way? adb sideload https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CivvxcM1PCY

[HELP NEEDED] Semi-Bricked Oneplus 7 Pro After Substratum theme went awry

I was messing around with substratum themes until I applied one that caused my display to act strange, and possibly the device itself, I cannot seem to boot into either recovery or bootloader modes, the boot animation seems to come on at random, adb doesn't work, and when I hold the power key I get the same Ui element issues (Moving up and down at random) but with stock android reboot, shut down, and lock down buttons. Is there anything I can do or did I brick my oneplus?.
If it helps any I'm on android Q 10.0.2 on a GM1917 with TWRP and Magisk.
turns out holding all the buttons landed me in recovery mode
I'm so lucky holy hecc
nevermind now my /SDCARD/ is empty
woooooooooooooo
I got twrp to view /sdcard/substratum by rebooting twrp, then flashed the rescue zip, and now i'm booted, this thread is now my story of fixing this issue of anyone has to fix theirs!
This is why I love OnePlus. It's like a continuation of the Nexus line. I've had to rescue my phone twice. Yesterday I got a crash dump. Would not boot. If tinkering with software is your thing, this is the phone to get.

As much as I enjoy having a phone that works I do love living on the edge
happened to me when I applied theme for system ui.
that's amazing how unstable oneplus7pro can be.
and there only one way to fix it which involves format.
even safe mode does not help.
no i fixed mine i flashed both rescue zips didn't work so i uninstalled substratum wiped data to all rebooted and reinstalled substratum and same themes went to substratum and they was there to uninstall if not goto data/data and delete themes heres pics of where they are and delete substratum folder kmanager whatever you have
I appear to have got myself into the same problem, and apparently I do not have twrp installed (it was before, but I guess I forgot to flash it again after OTA).
I am rooted but adb now says its device unauthorized and I have no way to authorize it.
How screwed am I? Is there some way I can connect to an external monitor or something? I dont have a recent backup and would lose about a months worth of stuff if I did a reset.
PS: OS loads but all i see is my background flashing. No way to enter pin or fingerprint. Phone also decided to remove usb debugging authorization after 10.3.3 update.
Could have just reflashed ROM in twrp also. Or factory reset which would uninstall all theme.apks

Without any details about your phone I recommend to factory reset/clean flash.
From twrp install Magisk module uninstaller.
Follow the directions at the following link

Thanks managed to fix it. But having a issue with OnePlus notes app. I made a backup before rooting and can't get the app to work and have some stuff on there.

TWRP BACKUP Problem

I made a Backup in my old rom (miui 12.5) with the idea of restoring ONLY application data in the rom that I would install later (Pixel Experience A13). When I installed the rom I started it normally, went into recovery mode to restore the backup, and I didn't know which partitions to select. I selected Data(exclude...whatever) and boot once it was done I just rebooted to the system and it stayed at the google logo. Flash a zip (I don't know what it's for, I just know it's necessary to use the rom in the first place) and reboot the system again and this time it started fine....I found the miui launcher and more applications they were installed (logically if the back up was from miui I was going to find that) so I decided to delete them, but when I connect to the internet something very curious happens, the phone after 10-20 seconds turns completely black. I restart it and nothing, absolutely nothing, loads the google logo and launches me into what I think is the system, but with a completely black screen. Help please, I can use the rom normally but I really need that app data

Extract the app data from the backup then physically move the app data to your Android folder using a PC.
