I have tried looking for a solution for this problem, but none can be applied to my case, so here it is: I have a UMi Iron Pro, and after the screen cracked earlier this year, I ordered a new LCD + Digitizer. I have now replaced the screen, but when I turn it on, it only emits black light. The phone does charge (according to the notification light) and my laptop recognizes a USB device when I connect it. However, the phone is quite useless now...
So, does anyone know what could have caused this problem? I am happy with any input.

I had phone with dead motherboard, I bought another one with broken screen but it conflicts with my screen - It is white. Display from new p535 also looks bit different from my old display, but connection is same. Is there a solution for my problem or I have to buy another display?

I've got the same problem- I bought P535 with broken screen and it didn't display anything and was white, so i repalced the screen with a compatible and completely new one. It turns on, the phone function is working, i.e. i can call on the pda when there is a sim card inserted and yet the screen is still white.
What can be the problem?
connectors seem to be OK ... I also tried soft reset but still of no avail.
any help is appreciated

is it possible that the screen is only lit up because the ribbon connecting lcd to the mainboard is of differnt color than the original?
the seller from whom I have bought the LCD with touchscreen wrote that it will work fine with asus p535 and p525 but in mine the ribbon was golden and in the one that he sent me ribbon is black and the model is different -originial was tdo028steb2 and the new one is td028steb1, although I found on the Internet that tdo028steb1 should work with p535..
I'm losing my nerves and patience... ;/

I had broken my phone's back cover and bent the middle frame too. So I bought a live demo version of S6 to use it as a donor. I swapped the mainboards over and only can here the noise it turns on and buttons light up, notification light come up but the screen stays black. So I swapped the mainboards back and with the demo mainboard the screen comes on as it should. Even I tried a third mainboard from a working phone the screen remains blank with that too.
Not even the charging logo would come on with different mainboard!
So I don't know what I could do with it!!!!
Any advice?

First of all i dont know if this is the right forum for my question. If not so please notice me.
After my Z5 dropped on the floor i got an broken Display. I bought a new Display and changed it, but i think i broke the LCD-Flexcable after i pulled carefully on it to get it inside the case. The effect is after phone turn on i get only the backlight but the screen remains black. So for a test i switched my old broken display in it but the effect is the same, only backlight and black screen. After a few seconds the phone led blinks 3 times red and the phone restarts. What the heck is now? Anybody get the same case? I handled the mainboard with care, dont remember to damaged the connector in anyway. Does the Flexcable needs to be protected with a tape so it couldnt be grounded on someway?

After a second and a third display swap the error is still the same. It seems somehow i damaged the motherboard. I swapped the phone against a new one.

3 months ago my charging port stopped working and then I cut the screen's flex cable by mistake... Anyway i changed both and it worked but today, the battery was getting very hot (i saw smoke coming from it when i opened the phone) so i disconnected the battery
Now when i try to turn the mi4 on i have black screen (but it turns on) Why??? Try to disconnect and reconnect every flex cable...
Also, the battery is still very hot since 3 hours

I have a similar problem as yours. In my case the LCD connector on the mainboard had 2 missing (extremely small) pins. I had it replaced but now the screen is black. Everything else works! (touch, vibration etc.).
I have heard that you can use the MI PC Suite to emulate the screen on a PC. Try it.

As you see on the title my screen is black even I can hear the notification sound, The LCD display has been changed because the old one was broke and I thought that was the problem, then I changed the LCD display, it stays black. And after reading some suggestions says the flex cable should be the problem, I changed it too, NOTHING RESOLVED THE PROBLEM.
Note: all parts ordered on Aliexpress.
