[Q] Vibrations not working - back cover won't stick

Hey guys,
last night I decided to replace the back cover of my Xperia Z3. I've ordered an original one and got to work. First problem is that it won't stick - the adhesive sucks. Shall I heat it up with a hair dryer or something? I don't want to damage anything inside the phone itself. And here we go to the second problem - after installing the new back cover the vibrations stopped working. I've performed a full wipe, reinstalled another ROM (wiped System, Data, Dalvik and so on) but it still won't work. Since it's a hardware problem, which part shall I check and then replace? The buzzer itself or maybe some connections?
Thanks in advance

Z3 shares same flex cable for the power, volume buttons, lcd and vibration so u need to check the flex cable.
I recently replaced mine due to stupid service center people refused to entertain my warranty.
If you not so sure, u can take help from professionals.
And you can get the adhesive online somewhere if you damaged the supplied adhesive with the back panel.
Also be very careful while putting that adeshive first put on the panel and stick the panel to phone back.
Gud luck..

Thanks, I just ordered the flex cable yesterday after some reading and I will be replacing it today or tomorrow. My warranty was refused due to me replacing the back panel on my own :good: Thumbs up for all the warranty services. Soon we won't be able to change wallpapers without getting our warranty void.

you sure the flex cable is not faulty?
also try to diagnose the vibration by system diagnostic.

It was brand new and everything else works.
EDIT: now the upper part of the screen won't work... Today is just one of those days... I changed the flex cables back and forth - same issue. No vibrations and no upper screen reaction. FML.

Can u check with old flex if the screen is functioning if yes then your new cable must be faulty.
I had no such issues, and since you yourself opened the device it should not have any issue with motherboard

I switched between flex cables and the problems persists. I've been sitting and trying to fix this with various ROMs, cables, buzzers and other things for 8 hours now. I'm gonna reassemble the phone as carefully as possible, flash stock ROM and send it to Sony again. Maybe this time I'll get lucky and they won't see that it's been opened... I don't feel like spending 300$ on fixing it on my own.

Were you ever able to fix this? I had the same exact problem as you, replaced the LCD/digitizer on my Z3 (D6603) and then re-installed everything and now my vibrate motor doesn't work. I bought a new flex cable/with vibrator motor, installed the new one, but the same problem occurs. Vibrate doesn't work at all.

Unfortunately, along with the vibrations, also my screen stopped working. I gave it to the warranty service, where they told me it's my fault, cause the damage is mechanical (how? I have no clue, cause there was not a single scratch on the phone) and they proposed a repair that would cost 110% of the phone's market value. I simply sold it for parts on eBay and bought an SGS6 Edge. No more Sony for me - their support sucks ape balls.

I can confirm the fuse fixed my buzzer.
My fuse had blown open somehow so I replaced it from a donor board and now it vibrates as it should.
Oh it's just above the clip that holds the board in place to the left of the large cable j-tag connector for the on/off vol camera and buzzer/vibratorView attachment 4720024
Yes that's the Z3 dual but is the same for the D6603
And he sold his phone by parts at last

I turned it on and the screen it's working, but SIM Card not and when I lock the phone after a few minutes the phone turns off by itself...
Right now I'm on Linux ROM on locked bootloader, should I install stock ROM before send it to the Sony repair service?

Restore the phone to stock and send it to Sony, it may be a gamble if you have unlocked the bootloader before however. Make sure it doesn't die while restoring!

It doesnt really matter if it die or not its water damaged anyway.. They should replace or repair it

Depending on your repair center there could be charges
if it dies, in opinion, if under warranty, it would be good for you.
Lots of people have a waterdamaged Z3 after contact with water allthough it is advertised as a waterproof Phone ??
A friend of mine took it's Z3 to the pool to take some pictures in the water and killed the lcd after some pictures.
Not so waterproof after all.
In your case your motherboard got damaged, the motherboard probably gets so hot from the shortened components it shuts itself down. Is the back of the Phone really hot just before it powers off ?
Water itself doesn't kill your Phone, it is water in combination with courant.
The biggest fault most people make when there Phone had a contact with water is trying to power it back on to see if it is still working.
The Phone powers itself off to protect the motherboard from damage when it is short circuit by water.
By trying to power it back on immediatly after the waterdamage , you put courant on the shortened circuit and most likely burn out a component.
Best way to threat a Phone after waterdamage is to take it apart as far as possible and put the parts on a hot plate ( or other heat source) at about 55 degrees Celsius for half an hour.
Afterwards clean away the waterresidu with IPA and a toothbrush before re-assembling the Phone.

Backlight is not Working

3 days ago, I kept my OPO in a bag, but I didn't know that the bag was not waterproof. The water of rain got inside of the bag. I took out my OPO after 30/40 minutes. It was down under water horizontally. I tried to unlock the phone, but there was no Display and Backlight, but the Notification light was blinking. I was outside so that I couldn't disconnect the battery. After some minutes it was getting hot. After I reached home, I disassembled all parts and saw some small parts were burned. I took it to the unauthorized servicing center because there are no authorized Service Center of OnePlus in my country(BANGLADESH). The servicing man told me that the IC of Network, and IC of the backlight of Display is burned. It will take some time to service it. After one day, He called me and said that light is not turning on. Now he is searching of another corrupted motherboard of OPO where the BackLight IC is good at least. Then he will transfer it to my OPO.
I'm worried about it because, In my country, OnePlus is not well known. If the service man can't find the IC, then I can't use my OPO again which I love more than other SmartPhone.
Is there any solution? or Where I can find the IC of Backlight to buy.

Need to replace whole motherboard.
You're gonna need much more than a motherboard if water is involved.
The speakers , the camera modules, the display , flex connectors.
Just buy a new(or used) OPO.
Tips- Remove the back cover , Put it in rice for a week or two....then try charging it again. Hope for the best that it starts up.

XZ premium resets itself

Hello. I am asking for help in solving the problem, namely I recently bought a refurbished XZ Premium which suffers from frequent restarts ONLY when the phone is not used, it is lying on a shelf or in a pocket and suddenly it can vibrate and reset, sometimes it freezes and you need to start it do restart vol + pwr, reset also sometimes occurs during a call. When I use the phone, nothing happens to it, it works properly. It does not matter the battery level and the firmware version uploaded, safe mode, clean installation, I tried on many official versions.
Do you have any ideas what might be wrong with her?

Thank you for your help, I will replace the motherboard soon, because it's probably impossible to repair. I have a donor with problems with sound reproduction, the speakers are not working, I hope it is not due to damage to the motherboard. I will let you know if it will work.

Question Booloop after LCD replacement

After a replacement of lcd screen with frame, my phone is stuck in reboot loop. I have unlocked the bootloader and installed original and custom roms, but in all the same thing happens:
No problem working with TWRP, but when it tries to reboot, when it gets to the home screen it hangs, and reboots again.
It seems as if trying to load graphics is when the problem occurs, but the new screen is supposed to be original. I have also found that if I disconnect the battery, and then reboot with the NFC antenna cover loose, the mobile starts well.... until it touches reboot for any reason, which returns the bootloop.
Any ideas? Thank you very much
Do you self reair it or you just tae it to service?
I didn't do it myself, but someone who is used to repairing cell phones. But it is not a technical service for warranty claims.

The real damage was the broken LCD screen. My friend tried to repair it.
My question was why it only gives that problem when booting normally, never in TWRP mode.
I don't know if the problem comes from heating when using graphics, if it could be a bad connection due to bad connector condition.
I already said that if I boot with the mobile without the back cover, and with the cover where the NFC antenna is without the screws, it works normally. Maybe it's because it has more ventilation.

Maybe its due to uncompatible lcd or did he missed some component or damaged components inside the device
