Hi,
I am from India and I wish to buy a brand new S8+. But the cost from Samsung India is quite high than the same from ebay which is $150 lesser than the Samsung India Price. So,I am now planning to buy the device from ebay (I know that it is a genuine Original Samsung device because of the seller). This device is imported from middle east (Unlocked). Now my question is that, Once i bought the device from ebay and flash the official S8+ ROM of India (via Sammobile using ODIN), will such activity trip my Knox counter or will treat this as an unauthorized ROM. I need to use Samsung Pay and Knox features and wanted to keep my device intact (un-rooted and official).
NOTE: Since, I did not bought the device from Samsung India, I may not get the warranty from them; I am ok with that. What I care more is that. will flashing the official ROM of a country (in this case India) into a foreign device (which is from Middle east, that is knox safe) will trip the knox and make unusable to use Samsung pay and other security features? Will I get OTA of India firmware whenever there is an update? Shall I go ahead with this purchase from ebay and flash India ROM from Sammobile?
Please clarify.
No. Knox will stay 0x0.
yes to all your questions
My S8+ got from UAE ( firmware changed to India) just got an update yesterday, pay works, knox not tripped.
Nah it wont trip knox. It will be same as indian unrooted device.

You bought the phone used I assume? hence it being already rooted and 0x1?
If you update to MJ7 (latest) yes you will lose root because it comes with a new bootloader, but since you are 0x1 already you can re-root without worrying about your warranty.
You may need to be careful regarding REGION Lock though... Not sure if updating reactivates it or not. So read up loads before you do anything to it!
thanks i see, mmmm but how this region lock work i mean this phone is from europe that mean i can only put oficial rom from there ? or it will work whit all other rom whitout a problem
REGION Lock is where the phone is locked to a certain region aka Europe / USA / Latin America etc, If your phone is the European model in theory it won't work where you are presently, Unless the region lock has been disabled via the method Samsung require (country of purchase - one 5 minute phone call made to release the lock, so an EU simcard used first)
Hello, i have a Galaxy S6 that i bought from Carphone Warehouse which is unlocked. I am on a vodafone contract and want to be able to use WIFI Calling. I have been told that it will only work if i bought the phone directly from Vodafone. After some research i found on sammobile that the official firmware is availble on Vodafone. If i were to flash this file, would it activate the features? Would this reset the phone or void my warranty?

Thanks
I did exactly that, but by mistake. It lead to me losing my phone's IMEI and baseband. It is fixed after reflashing the correct one again though.
Also, most likely Odin will fail flashing it at Hidden.img
Thanks, think I will give this a miss then!:good:
Hello folks,
I just got another S7 (I sold mine at a great price, got another one and kept the change )
What I need to know is: my new model iaccording to Samsung phone info app is SM-G930F heroltexx, original CSC is blank, firmware and active CSC are both CRO, available CSC are CRO and DHR, CSC Country is Croatia / HR.
Phone has annoying T-mobile boot animations that I'd like to get rid of, and also flash Nougat via Odin. What should I pay attention to? Is any G930F firmware fine, or I have to look for specific one? Any chance flashing will remove T-mobile branding on boot and shut-down?
Phone itself is simfree, knox 0x0
Many thanks!
This subsection is for T-Mobile US (G930T), you should ask in the general S7 forums.
So my Samsung Pay refuses to work in the UK because my unlocked phone was bought in France and its CSC is France too. Is there any way to get it to work without having to re flash UK firmware? Any particular fw and app version I should install? I got a US Samsung Pay working but I can't add any EU card.
Phone is not rooted
Hello everyone, I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 (G930F - Exynos - International).
I've rooted the phone, but fully unroot it back with a stock rom. So, knox has been tripped because of it. I don't really care about root anymore.
I was wondering if it's possible to flash a g930u firmware on it and be able to use Samsung Pay afterward.
G930U firmware is for the snapdragon US models, you'll brick your phone trying to put it on the G930F exynos. Totally different SoC.
What's your goal exactly? If it's better US carrier support you can try flashing the CSC utility but it needs TWRP https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/utility-flashable-csc-selection-30-t3392949

so i can use samsung pay.
currently, samsung pay will not work on S7 international or exynos model.
So according to this https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/samsung-pay-knox-warranty-void-t3549449
CSC has to match your country, so you're likely going to need to flash that CSC utility to a US carrier. Since the G930F is the international version there's no stock US firmware for it, so custom zips are likely your only option.

You definitely should NOT try flashing a U firmware, because lots of things will go very badly. It's not even made for the same SoC as the F (international) version.
Tripping Knox has blown an e-fuse on your motherboard, so unless you replace it there is no way to restore it to 0x0.
And as for using Samsung Pay, that is not possible, because of Knox being tripped. Currently there isn't a workaround for that and so using Samsung Pay is not possible.
