i am facing problems installing mokee rom on my lenovo a6010 - General Questions and Answers

I downloaded the mokee rom from their official website
then used thw twrp recovery to instal it but it gave me "error 7", so I tried a fix used in many videos on youtube, by removing the first two lines in the updater script code file.
when I tried again it gave me this :Could not find 'META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary' in the zip file
what did I do wrong?

Use different TWRP 3.1.1

[Q] MultiROM installation issues?

After getting Resurrection Remix ROM (which comes with a kexec-hardboot patch kernel) I thought I'd try installing MultiROM. I got MultiROM manager from the Play Store and it detected fine that I had the kexec-hardboot patch kernel. I went ahead with the installation but in the terminal in the app it give me the message:
Code:
preparing downloads
Skipping already downloaded file TWRP_multirom-amami20150201-00.img
Skipping already downloaded file MultiROM-v30x-170115-unofficial-amami.zip
Installing file TWRP_multirom-amami20150201-00.img... SUCCESS
Installing file MultiROM-v30x-170115-unofficial-amami.zip... NEEDS RECOVERY
It then asks me to reboot but doing so does not install MultiROM. I first thought that this may be an issue with my ROM coming with the MultiROM modified TWRP but I have tried installing MultiROM and recovery separately and together multiple times to no avail.
any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Facing error"error executing updater binary in zip" ( 12.1.1 YOG7DAS2K1) Oneplus one

Facing error"error executing updater binary in zip" ( 12.1.1 YOG7DAS2K1) Oneplus one
I tried wiping Data, Cache, System and then after flashing above update it says flashing failed.
Following are the details of my Oneplus one
TWRP : 2.8.7.0
CyanogenMod Version: 12.1-YOG4PAS3JL
Build Number: LMY48B
Device model- A0001
need a solution.
yeah same with me. Weird thing is it just says Error! nothing else is printed on the screen
I have found a solution for this problem.
You can follow this step:
1) Instead of downloading 65.8 MB incremental file go to cyanogen -support website( Sorry couldn't paste the link as i am new user) search for your device and you will find a link which will download the latest complete rom. This rom is of around 700mb.
2) Copy this downloaded rom mentioned above to ur device.
3) Take a Backup
4) Wipe Data, Cache,System or Simply just do factory reset with the help of TWRP
5) Install the Rom using TWRP
6) Reboot and finally your device will be updated and there will be no error.
it worked for me.

Help - TWRP 3.0.2-0 on Mi 4c update binary not found error when flashing CM14 7.0

Hello all,
Noob flasher here, tried to flash CM14 7.0 but received an error trying to flash the ROM itself. Did all the instructed wipe before but still a no go, and have tried looking in the internet for solutions but can't really find any that works.
Error is typed as following:
Installing zip file '/sdcard/cm-14.zip'
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
Could not find 'META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary' in the zip file.
Error installing zip file '/sdcard/cm-14.zip'
Updating partition details...
...done
Oddly enough when I opened the zip file, the update-binary file IS in the path specified by the error.
Please help, thankssss
where did you get ROM?i recommend using links posted on subreddit for mi4c, also make sure it's downloaded properly with checking MD5 at ROMs which provide it
i've had a similar issue with twrp 2.8 and mi-globe rom recently, i don't know why

[Q] How to solve "Error executing updater binary zip"?

Hi
I am not sure if anyone is still reading this forum, but I recently found my old Desire S and wanted to flash a ROM to it to revive it.
But I stumbled upon several problems.
The phone has currently twrp v2.8.7.1 installed, but simply installing a rom zip file with it always delivers the same error:
E:Error exectuting updater binary in zip '/sdcard/CM-11S-UNOFFICIAL-BR1-saga.zip
Error flashing zip 'sdcard/...'
I tried several roms I found in this forum, but most of the download links seem to be offline by now. I do not really care which rom is installed. The only goal was to find one which is working and the phone can be used with it.
It is not possible to mount->sd-ext in twrp even though an sd card is installed.
Mount->data is only possible when the sd-card is inserted. If it is removed mounting data is not possible.
Yesterday I had some trouble with wiping most of the available partitions in twrp, but today it seems to work properly, except wipe->advanced->internal storage which results in the error: "Invalid partition selection"
It is probably also worth mentioning that wipe->Format Data->yes was performed, and therefore barely any data is currently on the phone.
ADB and Fastboot commands can be executed from the pc and are being processed.
That's pretty much every information I think would be beneficial to find a solution to the flashing problem.
I also found the thread "[Q] How can I install Mokee rom?" in this forum, where the same problem ("exectuting updater binary in zip ...") seems to be solved by installing a newer version of twrp. But since I think, that the installed one on my phone is the newest, I only think that I could try downgrading the recovery. Not sure if this would help, and where to find an older recovery.
Thanks in advance for any possible solutions to approach the given problem.
Edit:
I installed recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.5-saga to try a different recovery. Then I pushed the rom via adb. The installation failed with:
"set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E: Error in /sdcard/rom.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted."
Edit2: SOLVED
If someone else should have similar problems:
The error message from cwm seems to indicate that the used rom is not flashable with this version of cwm.
I was able to install the ics rom aokp_saga_milestone-6-120708-2354 with cwm version recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.5-saga (both can be found in the download section https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146601
Try 4ext recovery v1.0.0.6 RC3 build8.

HELP: Paranoid Android 7.3.1 TWRP .zip Install Fail

Hello!
I'm trying to flash my Google Pixel with the latest Paranoid Android 7.3.1. I downloaded the Sailfish Paranoid Android .zip file along with my correct Open GApps .zip file. I already have TWRP installed on my device.
When I try to install The two zip files in TWRP, I get an error. It will not install Paranoid. It says something like "Looking for [a file inside of the zip file]" then "skipped [this file]" and finally "cannot install file [Paranoid file path]".
I'm completely lost on what this means and how to fix it. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks!
I had the same error message but didn't know what the cause was or how to fix it so I reverted back to stock rom.
