Hi, the volume buttons on my galaxy s7 with a slight press go all the way up or down. Has anyone had a similar issue? I've tested different players and it's present on all of them, so it's not a specific app related issue. Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks

Does it happen with normal system / ringtone / media volume too?
Nope, just with media volume. When playing audio/video.
So doesn't sound like a hardware fault then, try clearing cache from recovery
Make sure you don't have any apps installed that might be interfering with the volume button functions
Final resort backup and factory reset
solved
I had a system process stopped, restored and now it is ok, thanks.

hello,
is it possible to assign a hardware button to switch the display on and off on the fuze, without having the phone's buttons become unresponsive?
i have tried to use AEB, but it seems to have some bug with NATF's v4.1 rom. every time i try to assign a "virtual button", or any other button for that matter, the assigned button seems to behave strangely, only failing to work after a soft reset.
thanks
bump for much needed help

what are you trying to do with this? for listening to music? if so, try mortplayer as your player. I know a few years ago, I could do that with my Axim....
I've been having this issue where randomly my ringtone volume won't even work. And then when you goto the Settings>Sound and try to play other ringtones they don't play. There's no way for me to even adjust the volume using the Up/Down volume buttons. So I'm forced to reboot the phone. I don't use any ringtone apps, etc. Only what comes with the phone.
Let me know if you guys have been having any similar issues.

havent had that. *knock on wood*
When I'm on a call (regular headset or speaker phone) and I press the volume buttons on the left of the phone, the display shows volume being changed up and down. But the actual call volume remains the same which is always loud.
The volume control buttons work for everything else (ringtone volume, Youtube, music, etc.), but just don't change the volume during calls. If there's a way to fix this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi all,
I recently updated to Cybergrmod's v10 (fixed) ROM from v9 and have encountered a really annoying issue:
After updating to v10 the feature to long press the volume keys to change tracks no longer works for PowerAMP. If I long press the volume rocker the volume does not increase/decrease, but it does not change the track either.
Additionally, the ICS lockscreen (NOT the full PowerAMP lockscreen) track change and pause buttons do not work either, so I suspect that this is a linked issue.
Interestingly, the volume key track controls do work for the default music player, but I've been spoiled by PowerAMP's eq and other features, so I'm really hesitant to change players.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
p.s. I apologize if this has already been answered elsewhere or if this is the wrong section to post in, but I did try searching for a solution first.
Poweramp has worked fine for me on aokp. Maybe just try uninstalling and reinstalling Poweramp or you could try clearing its data first.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
After re-installing it I think I figured out what was causing the problem: it seems that if the "respond to headset" button is not checked the volume key long press track change feature will not work.
I must have unchecked it when I was fiddling around with the settings. But anyways, if anybody else has this problem I think that this will resolve it.
Thanks for the reply
When pressing the volume+ or volume- button, the slider jumps in extremely high steps. After 3 times pressing the volume+ button, the volume is on the maximum. I found the problem in another thread, his problem was solved after uninstalling bxActions.
However, I dont have installed bxActions. I am on stock firmware, Baseband: AQJ5. My device is not rooted.
Can anyone help me with this?
Maybe is another 3rd party app that has access to your volume and is causing this issue.
Did you do a hard reset? You can follow these steps to restore your phone to factory setting
Mod Edit
And if the problem persists, then it might be a hardware issue.
No, I didnt. But I would not like to lose all my settings, apps, wifi passwords and so on, by doing a factory reset. :/
I have installed bxActions, testwise. And with this app installed, the issue is partially solved: the volume steps are fine, there are 15 steps up to the maximum. However, with bxActions installed, I need the pro version to map "long press" of a volume button, else the "long press" has no function. So actually, I have to decide (a) install bxActions -> volume steps are good, but long press is disabled, or (b) uninstall bxActions -> volume steps too high, but long press works...
That's really annoying. :/
