Accessibility automatically goes off for some apps - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

Hello guys.
As known, some apps work better with accessibility turned on. Usually when manually turned on, it stays so permanently but for some apps, it goes off after reboot.
But it keeps going off for me after a few hours. Apps like Tiles, Round Corners, Navbar & Sesame shortcuts.
Only Nova launcher stays on.
Any help on this issue?
Thanks

I have the same issue. I also have issues getting notifications. They'll all sync at once when I unlock the phone, or if I get on WiFi. Driving me nuts.

Turn off clear app (choose which app you would like to keep) when screen is off, this will solve the problem.

Anyone else notice anything strange about Enabling Data?

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is just my phone or not, but I can't seem to disable the data connection outside of the widget from the notification bar.
I first noticed the problem when I was attempting to create a profile that would turn off the data connection and back on every 15 minutes, but it failed to do anything.
Afterwards, I tried out some apps such as Widgetsoid2.x and put Mobile Data and 2G/3G onto the widget. However, I noticed that turning off the data from the widget would show it being off on the widget but it'll remain on in the notification bar. If i turn it off through the notification bar, the widget on the homescreen would be off. However, clicking the homescreen widget to turn it on would bring up the Mobile Network Settings screen with a toast saying, "Enable Data First".
Anyone else got this problem or have a solution?
Its not just you, I have profiles setup using Llama to switch WiFi on and off depending on where I am and of course I have it turn data off when WiFi is on.
Now I'm not sure if its a glitch related to turning it off manually, but it doesn't seem to turn back on when out of range of WiFi despite having a rule setup to do that. Yet other rules work perfectly. I just assumed it was a bug with Llama and figured I could like with it.

[Q] LastPass and Dynamic Notifications causing a lock screen loop?

I recently started using LastPass Android app on my S6. Sometimes, when I go to an app (currently Email is the app) my phone will immediately go to the Dynamic Notifications lock screen. LastPass will be the notification. If I swipe to open the LastPass notification, it asks for my fingerprint unlock and then pops up a "Matching Logins" window. If I try to close that, it goes back to the lock screen with LastPass notification. If I just unlock the phone, it goes back to the app (Email, in this case) for a split-second, and then goes back to the lock screen.
I can find a way out of the loop. Usually, if I hit the home button at the right time it will clear out. But this is very frustrating.
I'm guessing there is some conflict between LastPass and Dynamic Notifications. There is probably a setting I can change in order to stop this, but I have a feeling I will lose a piece of functionality in doing so.
How can I avoid this annoying loop?

Swipe up from homebutton to search

One of my favourite Android functions is the quick swipe up from the home button to access google now/search.
It doesn't seem to work on the Mediapad x2. But as this phone has so many semi-hidden functions (home/back/... order; DPI settings; ....), I was wondering if I missed a setting somewhere to turn this on?
(and an other minor gripe, accessibility -> Services: Whatever you turn on, doesn't stay on. It gets turned off after x amount of time. Is there a way to keep them turned on?)
Cheers,

accessibility is turned off when the relevant app is closed. If you set app background protected, it will nto go off. But yes on boot you have to re-enable accessibility unless you use tasker or automate.
I have another stupid issue with Emui3.1
When I tap on a notification in the notification center, most apps don't open. The notification bar goes away and I stay on my homescreen. e.g. with Google Photos, Facebook, ...
Is that also a switch somewhere I have to turn off?
(Damn, I hate that phone manager)

What are the hidden functions for Home/Back..?
Not really a hidden function, but you can change their order.
Pinch the home screen inward to access hidden apps. Or you can make that your app drawer.

How to disable screen turning on for ALL text messages received (ALL SMS apps)

Hey guys,
I just got a ZMAX 2 and am loving it so far for the most part. Except, there's one little thing that's really bothering me. I often have my phone in my pocket and I don't use a pin/password on my phone. Thus, when the screen turns on in my pocket when I get a text, it often starts tapping all over the screen. In addition in is a waste of battery imo!
What I've tried:
Looking all through the settings. Couldn't find anything. I've tried putting it in Do Not Disturb mode, mute mode, nothing stops the screen from turning on when a text is received.
I installed other messaging apps: I've used Hangouts, Messenger, and Textra and explicitly said 'do not wake screen'. It still wakes.
I tried disabling ALL notifications by the SMS app that I have set as default. Guess what: the screen still comes on (and then shows a blank lockscreen).
I'm starting to think this is a setting baked right in, independent of the default SMS app at the time. Will we need root to fix this problem?
Any suggestions/thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Any way to disable wake screen for notifications?

I tried to enable from Custom restrictions "Don't turn on the screen" and "Don't wake for notifications" with no luck. Is this a bug or bad user?

Always nice to answer to your own questions . Ambient display -> disable New Notifications. Oneplus logic escapes me.
Disable notifications
Go to the Settings app on android > Sound & Notifications > Scroll Down and App Notifications under notification section > Tap on App name installed on your mobile > Turn off the notification for the app.
Hope this helps!

Thanks, but I wanted just to disable wake screen for notifications not to disable notifications. Was a little confused initially since Oneplus seems to have two settings for the same thing. Got it in the end...
I have the same problem, but your solution does not work for me. As far as I can tell I have everything in ambient display turned off, but the screen still wakes up (to the normal lock screen). To confirm: THE TOGGLE SETTING "NEW NOTIFICATIONS" IS NOT HIGHLIGHTED, WHICH MEANS IT IS OFF. HOWEVER, THE SCREEN STILL WAKES UP.
In addition to that I even have "no notifications on lock screen" selected, which means my screen WAKES UP AND SHOWS NOTHING. It's distracting and useless at the same time. Very annoying.
I have now turned on "ambient display when I pick up the phone". This finally made my screen stop lighting up by itself, though of course now it does it when I pick it up. But at least it doesn't distract me while I'm working on my pc with my phone on the table.
I like my 7 Pro very much...and since this is my 2nd phone from OnePlus, I guess I am fairly satisfied with their implementation of Android Q. However, their way of setting up notifications is one of the worst things I have ever seen! It is convoluted, confusing, and counter intuitive.... not to mention just plain ridiculous. I hope they really get on the ball with the issue of notifications and their useless Horizon light very SOON because a cell phone without proper, accurate, notifications totally defeats the purpose of having a "portable" communications device.

I am having the same issue, how did you get the screen to stop waking up?
I'm trying to find a fix for this, as well. I have an app that wakes screen besides delivering the notification with/without sound. And now I realize I have another one. I also want to have those notifications on, but without waking my screen, just like most of the other apps' notifications. And this is not related to ambient display. In my case, I have stock Android, on a Pixel 3XL.
Thanks!

Actually, there is a fix now, if you run Android 13. Under Apps->Special app access, there is a new option called 'Turn screen on'. I disallowed the annoying app and solved my issue.
I want to disable lock screen wake up for text messages and still no luck on S23. I went under special app access and disabled "Turn screen on" for the messages app (and others), and guess what? The screen still comes on when I get a text. HOLY ANNOYING.
You can turn Lock Screen Notifications completely off, but I dont want that. I want the audible notification to come in without turning the battery draining screen on, and when I tap the screen with my finger I want to see the app badge that tells me when app the notification came in on (signal, or messages, or fakebook, etc). If it's fakebook I may ignore it for example.

As I said in my post, I don't want to disable notifications, I want to disable lighting up the whole screen. The notification icon should show on the always on display without going full annoying brightness on the screen for 5 seconds. That's just dumb.

You might want to consider utilizing the Google Issue Tracker which is a tool used internally at Google to track bugs and feature requests during product development.
For Do Not Disturb - If you have the setting "Always show time and info" enabled (Settings > Display > Lock Screen > Always show time and info) your screen will display a dimly lit clock when the screen is locked, among some other status icons.
In the DND settings, if you check "Don't wake for notifications" and you get a new notification (text, ig, whatever the notification is), it will not show on the screen until you unlock the phone. It will just display that clock and you'll be unaware of the notification.
If you UNcheck "Don't wake for notifications", the lock screen with the large dimly lit clock will change to show the small icons for whatever the notification is.
If you do NOT have enabled the setting "Always show time and info" (Settings > Display > Lock Screen > Always show time and info), I imagine it would be the same behavior, except you would see a difference when you manually wake up (but don't unlock) your screen--you would either see that you got a text message or whatever the notification is, or you wouldn't until you fully unlock the screen.
