Is there any possibility I can get the volte setting to show up on an unrooted European dual SIM model?
Via adb for example?
Call settings, scroll down to the bottom and allow Internet calling for all calls. Keep your data active and when you make a call on 4g it will switch if the network is capable. Be aware that it can munch through your data plan!.

That is exactly the problem.. there isn't such an option.. this only is there with the Single Sim Variant. Dual Sim Variant doesn't show it..
Sorry for bump this old thread but I have the same model and issue.
I have a HTC u11 European dual simm, I don't have this option in my menu, my carrier (Vodafone ES) have a VoLTE but I can't work with VoLTE.
I don't have root the phone.
If in cal, I type *#*#4636#*#* appears the option VoLTE but I can't change this option for enable.
Its possible enabled VoLTE in unrooted phone and in the dual simm version?
Thanks and regards.

I have a dual SIM Huawei Mate 9 (MHA-L29) running the recent Oreo upgrade. SIM1 is Three UK while SIM2 is Tre Italia. I was able to get the Wi-Fi Calling option (it appears under Mobile network) by dialing *#*#4636#*#*
This requires that SIM1 be selected as the data sim in 'Dual SIM settings'; if it's not selected, the option then disappears.
There must be an interdependence with the carrier since I was unable to activate the feature on SIM2.
Anyway, works like a charm. The upper left of the screen says Wi-Fi Calling when it is active.
Hi All
I flashed the Canada multi-csc on my G955FD hoping to get LTE while on the phone (VoLTE)
However when I make a call with Sim #1 (TELUS) I have no LTE.
When making a call with Sim #2 (Bell), I do have LTE.
I have my Calls set to SIM 1, i have Texts set to SIM 1, and Mobile Data to SIM 2
When i reboot the phone a popup appears that asks which number i want to use as my primary for apps, and i always choose my TELUS number. I assume this is asking for things such as Whatsapp and how it maps to your cell number?
Anyone know what's wrong?
Is it possible that the Multi CSC is not adding TELUS's details properly?
Or can i simply only have VoLTE with one SIM and not both?
EDIT: Through testing i confirmed that whichever SIM is set to Data will be the only SIM that you can make VoLTE calls on.
Here is a thread in the S9 forums discussing the same limitation

You are correct; only the SIM set as Data will be able to operate in VoLTE mode.
Samsung has added Dual LTE to S9/S9+ variants with recent update though, so both SIM can operate in VoLTE mode simultaneously (irrespective of Data SIM selection). You can only hope that Samsung brings the same feature to S8/S8+ too; it depends upon hw support.
S8/S8+ hardware is not capable of Dual VoLTE. So it will never arrive.
The note 5 pro from Xiaomi supports dhak volte after a software update a d I know that because I did it on a 6gb 64 gb model a few hours ago. I think the s8,s8+ and note 8 surely have better hardware than Xiaomi note 5 pro right?
I have a SM-G955U that's GSM unlocked. It was originally an Xfinity phone, but I'm now using it on mertopcs. Mero supports active data while talking on the phone. But my S8+ disables my data while making a call. I do not have root, is there a way to keep my data while talking on the phone?
Try this settings/ connections/ mobile networks/ VoLTE Calls. I think that's the option you're looking for
That option doesn't appear when I go there...
I've checked through the phone app and the settings menu, nothing like that appears anywhere.

I think this option depends on the carrier itself you're using some carriers doesn't support vollte so this option will not be enabled by default. My carrier supports vollte.
Next to 4G or LTE icon vollte will appear like the picture below
https://mega.nz/#!zZBAAaaA!UJM62RS1-M0NwU7Tu1X_wpXiGKf3QXWQlSf3OB41qe0
The original carrier for this phone did not support vol LTE by the carrier I'm using now does support it. It was originally Xfinity and now I'm with MetroPCS.

Maybe flash the MetroPCS firmware or unlocked firmware.
You don't need use VoLTE to talk and browse at the same time, if your carrier doesn't support VoLTE your cell phone will perform a CS Fall Back to UMTS and then (if your carrier support MULTI RAB) your cell phone will make MULTI RAB, one RAB CS to voice and one RAB PS to data. The problem is when you are using 2 sim cards, if you make a call from one sim card and the data came from the other sim card, the Galaxy S8+ will block the other sim card in a call.
So to call and use data at the same time you will need VoLTE in LTE or Multi RAB in UMTS but must be the same sim card.
Hello guys,
Now from what i know about this phone it is dual 4G and i have it enabled in developer options.
I also have volte service activated from operators on both sims, but only one sim displays the volte option and 4G icon in status bar. I have tried switching the sims and then volte/4G icon appears only for sim 2.
According to Network cell info software i have 4G/4G+ on both sims and Data Network is lte for both, so in theory both sims have volte and 4G enabled, but it displays only for one operator.
My question here is if anyone has volte/4G icons for both sims in status bar and if you can share a snip as proof.
Thanks.
Only works in Sim 2 for me, see attached screenshot.
At least you have 4G for both. Mine only shows 4G on the active data sim only.
Would appreciate if anyone posts a snip with both 4G/volte for both sims. i have a ticket opened at Huawei and want to give them an example that on how it should display.
I will show you tomorrow with 2 simms from Orange and Digi Romania.
Take in consideration that here Vodafone has VoLTE without showing a VoLTE icon on any phone. On Vodafone I can not switch off the VoLTE because is no slider/option on network menu. They activate VoLTE from their server so if I want to deactivate it I have to call them. You can verify if you are in the same situation as follow:
- keep data mobile on this sim (no WiFi).
- Network 4G
- initiate a phone call
If remains in 4G means you have VoLte activated but no icon (carrier option). If commute in 3G means you don't have VoLte activated
I will change the Vodafone Sim with Digi one to see 2 icons.
LE: Orange Romania + Digi Romania
Hi,
Ok, I can understand the volte icon is carrier dependent on Vodafone, but what about the 4G icon? For me it only shows 4G icon on the sim where I have data active only. Check attached pics.
And yes, I know about the test you mentioned and yes, it stays as 4G during a call. I know I have the option active(since for vowifi I get icons on both Orange and Vodafone) and I checked with Network Cell Info program and it says Voice Network is lte on both sims.

You have to use Tweaker for Huawei.
View attachment 5015499View attachment 5015501
Apply and restart.
LE You can ask also here: https://forum.softpedia.com/topic/1148606-huawei-mate-30mate-30-pro/
Thx for the tweak tip.
@Sathelp : did you use the tweaker to get the 4G icons on both sims? Or maybe you see both because the phone is 5G model..
No, I hacked to get the VoLTE working (search for my thread) but the 4g is standard, sim one is Sky (O2) and sim 2 is EE (UK) . I have reasonable signal levels.

And with that app what that you get?
Can I make VoLTE calls or enable the VoLTE icon in the Mate 30 Pro's internal menu?

Follow the discution from the beginning. In this case, you can enable the network icon on the second Sim.
To be honest it asks me for root also to enable 4G icon on second sim. No idea why it works for you.
It asks because some functions need that. Not this one. It is better to try it. It is easy to do it.
I found the setting to display the 4G icon on both sims with SetEdit:
isShowNetworkType to be changed to 1
Sure. The same thing, different app. No root needed?
I have LG velvet 4g dual sim LM-G910EMW, is there any way to enable volte for use on t-mobile?
im having the same problem with my carrier (simple mobile). they are saying my LG Velvet 5g is not compatible with their network upgrade to VOLTE. The specs for my model, do indeed show that it is compatible. They keep trying to get me to "upgrade" to a new phone. Whats going on here?
So I followed the below directions from reddit and it worked great and I now have Volte, however phone still drops to 3g when it makes a call any thoughts on how to fix that?
There is a way to force enable VoLTE on the "LG Velvet 4G Dual Sim" specifically your version which is the "LM-G910EMW".
By default the feature is disabled on this model variant for who knows why.
Follow the steps below: 1. Click on the "Phone" app and dial "##4636##" -If done correctly it'll automatically bring you to the "testing" settings menu.
Click on "Phone Information" -you should see a list of VoLTE settings however by default they are disabled and greyed out but don't worry there's a way to reactivate VoLTE. (You Will Come Back to this Menu later)
Go to your file app and create a file named "enable_ue" -thats all you need to do just create the file, nothing more nothing less.
Go back to the "Phone" App and dial "#*462633*#910#" -This code is specific to the variant and will not work on other non LM-G910EMW Phones. Dialing this should bring up the "Hidden LG Menu"
Select Field Test>Universal Enabler>Create New Config -a menu with check boxes for VoLTE options appearing
Select the boxes as follows "VoLTE" "ViLTE" "VoWifi" "ViWifi" And finally hit "Confirm" -a prompt will appear stating "Vo Services Updated"
Immediately restart your phone to allow the settings to kick in
After your phone has restarted go into your Settings>Network & Internet>Mobile Networks -If done correctly the VoLTE option will now be unlocked and available.
Switch on the "VoLTE"
Now to double check that your phone now truly has VoLTE enabled, repeat steps 1-2. If done correctly the menu should now say "VoLTE Provisioned Video Calling Provisioned Wifi Calling Provisioned " -if these 3 are all switched on then you have successfully force enabled VoLTE on your LG Velvet 4G Dual Sim LM-G910EMW, congratulations!
Sorry I'm not so good, can you help me please regarding this:
Go to your file app and create a file named "enable_ue" -thats all you need to do just create the file, nothing more nothing less.
I would like to know how to create this file, as I think I didn't do the job so I'm block when I enter Unviersal Enabler, it say: not supported
Thanks in advance for your help
In the upper right of your file manager there should ne three dots, click on that and it will show new folder, new file, etc.
Some file managers do not have a new file option so you may have to download a different file manager. I used 3c as my file manager.
Hi,
Can you please share the path where we need to add the file name as "enable_ue" and it will be 0 byte file right?
I just added it to the main storage and yes it was 0 byte
Will this work on the 900TM variant? I used 900 instead of 910 to get the hidden menu and it came up but i can't seem to get the volte button to enable in the menus.
If you have one variant of a Qualcomm LG Velvet can you turn on VOLTE by selecting the stock firmware for a different Velvet variant? Basically I wondere if an lmg900tm can be turned into an lmg900um. [NOTE: upon further investigation, the VOLTE feature may depend more on the SIM card and not on the firmware. There is an explanation here from Quora.com:
Is VoLTE activation dependent on the SIM card or just on the device model and the operator?
The phone has to be VoLTE compatible, that is the hardware itself must be able to handle VoLTE in terms of what it implies: band, frequencies and so on.
Then, the phone has to be provisioned to operate with VoLTE, in simple terms that means that the phone must be enabled or allowed to work with VoLTE, this is done wither by the manufacturer or by the operator. There are phones that even while they are VoLTE capable, the manufacturer of the operator won’t provision them to use VoLTE. One such case are the Google Pixel phones that are perfectly capable of VoLTE. but, if you insert a SIM card of a country where Pixels are not officially sold and supported, then Google has the phone set to disable VoLTE (and 5G as well).
Then, the SIM used in that VoLTE capable phone and VoLTE provisioned phone has to be of the right version. Some operators won’t provide VoLTE service if you don’t have a SIM with a minimum version (and thus SIM firmware and configuration).
Lastly, you have to be physically present on the network that has VoLTE capabilities. You could have all of the above, but, if you are in the middle of a desert or in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, probably VoLTE is not going to work…and neither 4G or 5G…
Is VoLTE activation dependent on the SIM card or just on the device model and the operator?
Answer: VoLTE activation is controlled by the device depending on the SIM and network operator. Of course the phone has to be VoLTE capable in the first place. Each device has an internal database that uses one or more of the SIM files as key to retrieve various parameters about the operator own...

There you have it, that is pretty much in simple terms, what is needed to enjoy VoLTE with your smartphone.
