Help to root my Moto G3 XT1550 - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, I'm new here.
I searched on internet for about a couple of hours for the process to root my phone.
I have Moto G3 -XT1550 with lollipop Android version. I have not updated to marshmallow due to some technical issues with the latest update.
Guys I know that should unlocked the bootloader first in order to root my device. But I could not find source to download the ADB, TWRP etc., For my device.
Current Android version: Lollipop v5.1.1
I don't want to update to marshmallow, just want to root my device. Can you guys give me the links to download files for rooting which are compatible with my current Android version.

ADB and fastboot are not ROM dependent, neither is TWRP recovery. You can use Minimal ADB and fastboot package . There are two TWRP builds available for Osprey, from the official site and squid2's version , both work fine.
And for the rooting part, you can use the latest SuperSU or Magisk .

SystemLess Root for Marshmallow Android 6.0 Stock Rom(unrooted and locked bootloader)

The official update of the MOTO G3 2015 is available over the OTA.
So , the next question is that the unlocking bootloader and rooting process still the same or if anyone else has any problem with the process.
Also , there has been a lot of buzz about the SystemLess Root but no proper thread for MOTO g3 is available.
So , if someone can guide me through the entire process of SystemLess Root
And if the SystemLess Root works properly with marshmallow update.
I am on MOTO G3 2015 Marshmallow Android 6.0 (Indian OTA update)
System Version : 24.11.25.osprey_retasia_ds_2gb.retasia.en.o3.retin
The very first thing you have to do is to unlock your bootloader if you want root.
It's not possible for Moto G3 I think..

Agree. And the procedures need to fill all the gaps of info that currently exist. For example, after unlocking bootloader, it would have been helpful to know that you need to reboot and let the system rebuild itself (which takes several minutes) before moving on to anything else such booting/flashing TWRP & rooting.

First of all, Systemless Root is Available for MOTO G 3RD GEN.. Just Grab the zip.. No other zip will work except BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip..
Rooting moto g3 marshmallow
Can Anyone Provide me twrp recovery and systemless supersu for moto g3 marshmallow?
Has anyone had success installing superSu 2.76 systemless? I ask for this because I'm trying to install unoficial systemless xposed and it will only install systemless if supersu 2.76 is also flashed systemless (not updated via supersu app)
I managed, besides 2.62 beta, to get systemless root with CF-autoroot (2.74)

never, Never, NEVER EVER use a one-click root on the Moto G 3rd gen, it can and will brick it... we have seen tons of examples of it happening on Marshmallow. The rooting process has been refined and simplified and works on all stock Marshmallow ROMs...
1) Unlock bootloader
2) Boot TWRP and do a full backup and store it in a safe place (Seriously, do this... When you need it you will thank me)
2a) Flash TWRP (optional, but recommended)
3) Start TWRP by either fastboot or on the phone if you flashed it
4) Go to Advanced - Terminal
5) Enter `echo SYSTEMLESS=true>>/data/.supersu` press Enter and exit back to home
6) Flash latest stable or beta SuperSU zip
7) Reboot and enjoy root!

I never do auto rooting... I always follow the guides for any phone.... I was just enquiring of him if he had done it that way ????
As to your 2nd point I had done a TWRP of my stock rom for the merlin,,, and then like a dumbass i had kept it on my sd card (64gb ) which suddenly decided to die on me.... so i lost that...
Anyway,, when i try to put back my MOTO GTE to stock, i will flash the firmware and then try the systemless root,,, have never done that before..
thanks for the stepby step guide..
cheers
Greg

Need more information about Bootloader and TWRP

First of all, i would like to ask several questions about bootloader and TWRP in Android. I really need these informations as i can't find it elsewhere in Internet.
Long story short,
Number 1: What is actually make it different from Lollipop Bootloader with Marshmallow Bootloader?
Number 2: When i was trying to install Nougat ROM Unofficial Cyanogenmod in my Asus Zenfone 2 Z00A or Android Ice Cold Project Marshmallow ROM, i get an error "This package supports ifwi" or something. Question is why is this happening?
Number 3: Related to number 2, does ifwi have something to do with TWRP outdated script recovery that it can't flash the ROM?
Number 4: How do we know that TWRP runs in MM bootloader or LL Bootloader? When i flash MM TWRP, i can successfully install Android Nougat now. But i didn't see any name or text that says it runs with TWRP MM or TWRP LL.
Number 5: Does TWRP version have something to do with the Bootloader MM or LL? (Ex: TWRP 3.0.0.0 and so on).
Number 6: In an official website of TWRP.me, what is their version bootloader? (I am aware that twrp is custom recovery but having encountered these issues when flashing the ROM makes me rethink that bootloader has something to do with twrp whereas i thought it didn't have anything to do with twrp before).
Any answers are always helpful to me. Since this is a thread for Questions and Answers. Please do so help me in filling the information. Thank you.

MT-L09 B137 update and root

Hello,
I want to root it ,but if it is possible then to install a newer version of android first. I currently have 4.4.2 .
I saw SRKTool only work with 6.0 . kingroot hasn't work. I did unlooked the bootloader (afterwards).
So, if I saw correctly , there is no OTA update for the firmware, just full firmware to install , from here :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/general/huawei-mt7-l09-l10-stock-firmware-ota-t3275784
But any full firmware (6.0) would work , right?
And there is no TWRP 2.7.8.0 for my specific version, but generally for android 4.4.2 , there is . So, I am too afraid to install it right now.
Is it justified ?
There is also a tool that installs MT7_CWM_CN_EN for android 4.4.2 on this device (don't have a link) . should it work?
Thanks,
Eyal

Please clear first you want to upgrade or root..?
if You want to root then no need to upgrade Android to have root simply flash custom recovery eg: twrp for kitkat that's it when you flashed it before reboot it'll ask to install supersu you can also flash supersu by yourself just flash twrp recovery then flash supersu.zip
Twrp for kitkat

Need further help please ask...:good:
"Thanks. I got it myself, when I stopped worrying and installed twrp. No way to update without erasing my data, I see.
