Is there a way to root on 5.1.1 23.4.A.1.200 ?

Hello there,
have been trying to root my new xperia z3 for 3 weekends now with no luck.
My bootloader has been unlocked through sony website, then relocked and unlocked many times using flashtool.
Looks like all the recoveries (doomlord, twrp) I could find work only on 4.4.4. Then I use flashtool to flash lollipop 5.1.1 23.4.A.1.200 and either wipe and loose the root or don't wipe all and enter a bootloop.
Flashing those recovery kernels straight on lollipop make the phone enter bootloop.
Are you guys able to root those Z3 under 5.1.1 ?
thank you
Sure shot easy way is flash kitkat firmware and use giefroot or flash 5.0 firmware and use kingroot.
Mate, you have to flash a prerooted version of 5.1.1 you can't just flash a stock rom and expect to stay rooted.
Downgrade to Kitkat then root and install a custom recovery. Then you download 5.1.1, Super Su and a custom recovery, create a pre rooted flashable zip with PRFcreator . Then flash it in your custom recovery and you're done. Rooted 5.1.1 with a custom recovery ready to rock.
Kingroot isn't recommendable, your IMEI is sent to China. Downgrade to 4.4, root with giefieroot, upgrade with pre-rooted ROM.
Btw: did you make a backup of your TA partition before unlocking bootloader?
Thanks a lot for your answer guys.
Am unusually struggling with this device.

Have already downgraded to kitkat, installed custom recovery and rooted. But the 5.1.1 stock flash indeed wipe everything.
Haven't found yet a custom recovery for 5.1.1 that doesn't make the phone enter a bootloop. Would you happen to have a link ?
I'll give a look to that PRFcreator, didn't know about it.

This is what I read about kingroot and haven't found any other way to root a 5.1.1 stock.
Where could I find a pre-rooter ROM then ? My wish was to be stock and rooted to be able to use apps like titanium backup and adblockers. Used to try custom roms every other day on my old SGS but today I'd be happy with something that just works.
Did not make any backup before unlocking but looked like flashtool was able to relock the device. Am I right guessing I didn't loose my DRM keys then ?
Thanks again for your answers.
Edit: looks like am missing sthg, what's the point in rooting a kitkat to upgrade with a pre-rooted lollipop right after ?
After KitKat root you get a Lollipop pre-rooted image and flash it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/d6603-5-0-2-flashable-stock-23-1-0-690-t3056361
Here are the steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056
I hope you made a TA backup before unlocking your bootloader, otherwise you have lost your DRM keys forever.
Anyway, if your bootloader is now locked, follow the guide that Licaon_Kter linked in the above post.
The exploit that lets us root our Z3 only works on Kitkat, so downgrade first, run the exploit to obtain root, and install recovery.
You will then have stock, rooted, KitKat.
To get to 5.1.1, you will then need to either create your own pre rooted firmware, or download one that someone has kindly posted on here.
If you want to learn how to do it, read this --> Create your own pre rooted firmware with PRF Creator
PRF Creator will create a zip file that can be flashed from recovery, so once you have recovery installed, it's dead easy.
That will get you where you want to be.
However . . . and there's always a however lol . . .
. . . if you still have an unlocked bootloader, it is much simpler from wherever you are.
Find any custom rom that has recovery built in, and almost all do, then fastboot the kernel only, the boot.img.
Reboot your device and enter recovery.
Install your pre rooted firmware that you have either created with PRF Creator, or downloaded from here.
Job done.
My personal advice is read, read, and then read some more.
It can be very complicated, but you'll get the hang of it.

I still have an unlocked bootloader since flashtool can lock and unlock it in a matter of a second.
Went back again in KK rooted with twrp recovery.
Wiped data, cache, dalvik.
Flashed D6603_23.4.A.1.232_Customized_US_SuperSU_XZDR2.8.2 1 from the link above and ... CWM recovery report install from sdcard completed after 1s and nothing more. Am still booting in KK after that.
This didn't work for me. Am losing it now with this phone.
Am I missing sthg ? Any advice ?
Can't use PRFCreator, am under mac os...
Thanks to all for your help

I appreciate your still trying to help me.
I do use flashtool and am able to root a Kitkat 23.0.A.2.93, so I don't see the point in using giefroot unless it could root a lollipop.
I have read thoroughly and downloaded pre-rooted lollipop stock roms from the link you provided.
Once under KK, rooted, with all settings set properly (debug, security, etc...), and all caches/dalvik/data wiped, the CMW recovery just don't flash those lollipop roms. After just one sec, it says install completed but then the device still boot under KK.
TWRP doesn't even intall, so am wondering if this is even possible to get a TWRP on stock rom.
Have tried all of those with bootloader unlocked and locked, or a mix like unlocked first to be able to root a KK, then relock to flash a stock prerooted 5.1.1 (as stated in the post) but then I get a device that doesn't even boot.
Tried dualrecovery too, flash the zip, and nothing.
I suspect all of you guys have used some sort of .bat windows utility to get through this.
Once again, thanks for your help and patience.

The point is to go from the BEGINing _again_: Flash stock KK, giefroot, XZ, pre-rooted LP
I have done it in Linux w/ locked bootloader and stock ROM, hence my pointers.
XZDualrecovery has TWRP 2.8.7.0. But, do take note that you use Volume Down to enter PhilzTouch Recovery and Volume Up to enter TWRP.

am sorry, can't find how to use giefroot on a mac.
read quite a few post of people saying that was not working for them.
Run the INSTALL.SH file in a console (just like they instruct you for the .BAT file for Windows), it detects OS and runs either adb for Linux or for Mac.
Well, like I said, it worked fine in Linux, I guess it should work on Mac, providing the device is detected ok beforehand and such. ( what does "adb devices" outputs with the phone connected ? )

XT1550 **Soft Bricked** Can't any custom recovery / ROM / Stock ROM

Okay so here's the info to the best of my knowledge,
Phone Model : Moto G 3rd Gen (XT1550, dual sim, 2gb RAM, 16gb ROM, India)
Bootloader Status : Unlocked
Root Status : Rooted
Recovery : Stock
ROM : Stock ROM 5.1.1
I've been running the stock Recovery & ROM with high hopes of getting an official OTA Marshamallow update.
To truly customize the device to my liking I flashed the xposed framework (the arm version) , it worked fine and all the modules I installed worked perfectly.
I also had Device Control, Xposed Gels, and some other apps to bring my Stock ROM experience close to that of Cyanogen MOD.
When the OTA Marshmallow update started rolling in , I was unable to install the update even after successfully downloading the file numerous times. But i was so comfortable with my device and all the customization I had on my device that I decided to keep using my customized Stock ROM.
4 months later (now) the lack of a gyro in this device and my eagerness to get into VR headsets has left me with no choice but to sell it and get another phone. So i needed it in a sale worthy condition, without the customization and with the Marshmallow update installed.
I uninstalled the xposed framework and all the modules but was still unable to install the OTA update.
So i figured i'd install CyanogenMOD with TWRP custom recovery.
I have done this for quiet a lot of my friends and am fairly used to the steps involved. I use the " minimalADB fastboot " kit and my device on fastboot to flash recovery. For some reason i was not able to flash the lastest TWRP image (twrp-osprey-3.0.0-r2.img ) for the device nor was i able to boot from it :crying:. The fastboot command prompt on my PC would show success but the devices would not restart into the custom recovery like it is supposed to, but the device would stay at the fastboot mode and kept restarting everytime i selected the recovery mode option.
I had an older image (twrp-osprey-2.8.7-r3.img ) which i couldn't flash either but i was able to boot into TWRP with this image. From here i tried installing the latest CM12.1 nightly available (cm-12.1-20160227-NIGHTLY-osprey.zip) as soon as i swiped the device would just reboot, i tried this numerous times and with other nightly builds as well.
In haste and frustration i wiped the cache/dalvik , internal storage and system through TWRP , thinking that changes made in the quest of customizing my device were causing this hindrance. I had no OS now. I went over trying to flash TWRP and CM12.1 many times again with the same issues.
I came about a thread on How to " Fastboot Flash Moto G (3rd Gen) Factory Firmware Images " (http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/guide-fastboot-flashing-factory-t3187750) & used this firmware image " Retail Asia | India (2GB) - XT1550_OSPREY_RETASIA_DS_2GB_6.0_MPI24.65-25_cid7 ". Still no progress.
The bootloader unlocked warning has come back (i flashed a stock MOTO logo there earlier) which keeps flashing on my screen again and again , no booting into OS or anything else. Not even an error. As if there is no OS installed.
I have gone about the procedure in the above thread a couple of times, with no success and the same problem.
Is there any reason why i'm unable to flash a custom recovery or ROM ??? What am i missing???
Please help i'm stuck, pulling my hair out with no phone and completely frustrated.
Thanks in advance.

Nope. Too late for that now.
If you're asking in regard to the stock firmware I tried to flash, it didnt depend on the build number. Just the model number and the RAM.

okay i am not a developer nor a noop but trying to help you
try to flash stock rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/index-moto-g-factory-firmware-images-t3169639 but dont mistake this time double check your model with build number using carefuly the steps from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/index-moto-g-factory-firmware-images-t3169639
You will not brick the phone if you use the latest firmware and do a factory reset before flashing.
Good luck.
but do at your own risk i am not responsible for anything

the link provided is the exact same link from where I flashed a stock rom before.
build number for stock rom??? am i missing something???
all i see is the model variant (xt1550 is my phone)
RAM specification (mine is 2gb)
and the region (mine is retails asia | india )
so i went with the following firmware
Retail Asia | India (2GB) - XT1550_OSPREY_RETASIA_DS_2GB_6.0_MPI24.65-25_cid7
where does the build number come into the equation???
Please lemme know if im doing something wrong. Thanks for the replies.
So I've successfully flashed twrp-osprey-2.8.7-r3.img to my device and I've been able to boot into twrp. The touchscreen doesn't seem to respond though. It asks to swipe to begin and I'm stuck again.
I had the screen replaced a couple of days ago.
Could it be a faulty screen or a software issue?
P.S. I have not been able to flash any version of twrp after the above mentioned version (v 3.0.0 is the latest stable version) but the ones prior are flashable.

Is not big issue
Is it still possible to boot back into the OS? If it is, check if you have OEM unlocking enabled, since you're on stock ROM, it might be gotten unchecked after unlocking your bootloader because that's what happened with me. If you do t wether or not that was checked, you're at a dead end and there's nothing you can do. You can try paying someone to fix it, i.e., Motorola.

MT-L09 B137 update and root

Hello,
I want to root it ,but if it is possible then to install a newer version of android first. I currently have 4.4.2 .
I saw SRKTool only work with 6.0 . kingroot hasn't work. I did unlooked the bootloader (afterwards).
So, if I saw correctly , there is no OTA update for the firmware, just full firmware to install , from here :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/general/huawei-mt7-l09-l10-stock-firmware-ota-t3275784
But any full firmware (6.0) would work , right?
And there is no TWRP 2.7.8.0 for my specific version, but generally for android 4.4.2 , there is . So, I am too afraid to install it right now.
Is it justified ?
There is also a tool that installs MT7_CWM_CN_EN for android 4.4.2 on this device (don't have a link) . should it work?
Thanks,
Eyal

Please clear first you want to upgrade or root..?
if You want to root then no need to upgrade Android to have root simply flash custom recovery eg: twrp for kitkat that's it when you flashed it before reboot it'll ask to install supersu you can also flash supersu by yourself just flash twrp recovery then flash supersu.zip
Twrp for kitkat

"Thanks. I got it myself, when I stopped worrying and installed twrp. No way to update without erasing my data, I see.

How to fix the (twrp) error 7 while installing custom rom

This post is interesting for you if :
- you can't flash any rom or upgrade your operating system
- you're running twrp and you get : "updater process ended with error 7"
- you can't update twrp
You need to know the basics (like flashing a rom or installing twrp (or you'll find it on other threads))
You're going to full reset you're phone, dont forger to make backups!
You're the only one responsible of what happens to your phone! You proceed at your own risk! Be sure you always know what you're doing!
All the links will be given for the oneplus X
The first thing you need to do is mega unbrick your phone mega unbrick for OneplusX
Then, just turn on the phone, skip the bigest part of the "welcome process" and go into the settings. Follow this guide to install twrp (the most recent version you're phone is able to run). Once twrp is installed properly, you're gonna update your Boot Loader and install twrp one more Time (this time the last update, given by twrp) follow this guide : update BL and install twrp
Once it's done, you should be able to install any rom you want and run the very last update of you're favorite OS
I hope you guys found this post helpfull

fix the tablet for updates

Hello to all,
I'm new on this site. I have an old galaxy note 10.1 and I would like to install Marshmallow. I found the various files around the site. Could someone explain to me step by step how to start? I never installed rom or rooted the tablet, so I should start from the beginning. In the guides I found, TWRP Recovery is used. Thank you so much to those who will help me.
Post is confusing .
Fix the tablet for updates ??
4.4.2 is the last update from Samsung .
Do you mean a custom rom ?? ( there are no longer many active )
Post reported to mods for moving to correct Q&A section .
If you have an n8013, this will load android 7.1 which works well. I got some of these leads from xda-developers but didn't keep the references. Be sure to make a backup first!
INITIAL ROOT REQUIRED
Google skyneel "how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-note-10-1-n8013"
and follow the directions to root your tablet
GET TWRP FOR THE 8013
Google twrp.me samsung samsunggalaxynote101
save the instructions for flashing using ODIN, then
download the twrp image for the 8013.
INSTALL THE TWRP RECOVERY .IMG FILE USING ODIN
DOWNLOAD UNOFFICIAL LINEAGE ROM FOR 8013 (Android 7.1, works great)
Google lineage os downloads "download-galaxy-note-10.1-wifi-lineage-os"
Download lineage rom and gapps links from there.
The page also has instructions for flashing....follow them
ENABLE ROOT FOR LINEAGE
How to root
Google "lineageosdownloads" "root-lineage-os"
Go to the lineageosdownloads page you find and follow the instructions to regain root.
Above is ok but OP asking to Fix Tablets for Updates .
Presume they mean updates not custom roms .
