Hey all.
Demo phones are being sold with a good discount at the moment so I've been wondering is there a working solution for removing demo mode/soft on U11?
I think it can be disabled under developer options.

I'm puzzled now. I had two demo phones, and on the first one I installed TWRP, rooted it, flashed some custom ROMs, that did remove 2 demo apps, but I wanted a clean stock on it, so in the end I went with Sunshine, SuperCID and flashed the latest RUU. All fine, no demo mode.
The second one I rooted, changed CID, flashed the latest RUU, but the demo mode is always there, unless I remove those apps with TiBackup.
The only difference in procedures between the first and the second one was flashing 2 custom ROMs and Oreo radios.
Am I missing something here? Why does the demo mode on the second one refuses to die?

Hi all, it ended up being easy, once I found an old thread from HTC 10... My Telstra demo phone is now a real phone, no more demo app and security is working and I can factory reset the phone. See attachment for the code to go to hidden phone settings... Turn off house keeping and factory reset your u11.
Happy to help anyone further. Thanks goes to Curtisrusty for the original quote, your a legend mate.

Hi Mate, just need your help because I am about to get a HTC U11 Telstra branded Demo which has Demo App pre installed also on it,
will I need to Root and unlock bootloader to do what you did ? or I can go ahead and try it without Rooting or unlocking bootloader?
so its as easy as just putting code in, getting to secret settings then turn off house keeping and factory reset from the secret menu? or do I need to enter bootloader ?
Thanks heaps Mate, thought id reply to your message as I am in the same position as you with a HTC U11 Telstra Demo.

No trouble mate, because I used the ussd code, un-ticked house keeping, then factory reset phone, I can't get re-enable retail mode to recall exactly what i did. Once you're in there you will see what's needed to do. But I'll be around, if you need a hand. Talk soon Loony... ??

Ok so I got the phone yesterday and started working on it , went into the special settings with the code , turned off house keeping , then tried to reset to factory from settings but the password didn't work by putting my phone serial number nor the IMEI worked , kept saying incorrect password .
Next step I took which I was praying for to work was to hard reset via download then recovery mode .... and powhhhhh it allowed me to do a factory reset which removed the demo app ... yayyyy
Thanks again for your help mate

Hi mate, are you still trying to disable the demo mode?
When I did it, the code was the IMEI number or the serial number of the phone.
Find my attachment on the first page, if you can't enter the special options menu.

Hi everyone.
I don't know if its even possible but need to create the SIM CARRIER LOCK again.
When i unlock the bootloader i "erase" the sim carrier lock (guess happen to everyone) and that is awesome but know i need my phone to be carrier lock again.
Don't need that to be forever, i like it unlocked . If that is a way to fake it it's ok but need to be hidden and need to persist after reboot.
I know it's strange but i really need it... I already flash my nandroid backup from the stock rom, flash a stock recovery and lock the bootloader, still unlocked!
Anyone knows how to do it?
Thanks!
(And sorry for my bad English)

Neither do i think its possible. sorry.
By Sim carrier lock, do you want to relock your boot loader or do you want to restrict your phone to using the same Sim as it came with?

My IMEI became null due to flashing by LG Flash tool. So i repaired imei using QPST and RF_NV_Manager, but then my phone is carrier locked now. When i enter into network lock through code 2945#*850#, it displays "This phone is permanently locked and cannot be unlocked". So i either cannot unlock it through an unlock code. Is there any other way?
I have the same issue as i think entered codes multiple time. PHONE PERMANENTLY LOCKED..
i found no solution yet.. I think there is no easy method.
This is a great phone & I want to use it longer.
Any solutions anyone please?

Ok thank you a lot, i need it cuz i accidentaly lock my FRP after factory reset and now cant back from 9 beta
So i was on 9.0.0.197 and tried to downgrade with tools on this forum to 8.x so that i could get official OTA fro Huawei
ITs now just a black screen and responds to fastboot commands.
I can still flash most things like system, etc
Not sure what it is that I need to try and flash to get the screen abck on and the system operational
Any idea?
Quick answer. Send the phone back to warranty and the second you get it back put a for sale sign on it and get a different brand

No need to sell its still a cool phone
You need software called DC unlocker (Its paid like 19€ for 3 days) and you will need to disassemble your phone to short-circuit testpoint. I had same issue with my P10

Pretty crappy piece of advice actually... Pretty trolly.
It's simple. Just buy a type c to otg and flash the android oreo using firmware upgrade mode and dload method.

Hello there guys.
I have a tmobile one plus 7 pro.
I flashed my phone with this guide here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/how-to-convert-tmobile-op7-to-t3935947/
Everything works fine, no more tmobile logo when I boot... But the OEM unlock option is still grayed out.
Also, when I hold the volume UP, Down + insert USB cable, the phone connects to the MSM tool for 3 seconds, and disconnects right away. The phone is no longer staying in that mode.
I want to unlock this thing. :'(
Are you sim unlocked? Your sim has to be unlocked for the oem unlock to stop being greyed out.

I am not sure, how do I find out?
The only thing I did was I flashed my phone with the link I provided, and it did take effect because no more tmobile logo.
How do I sim unlock? do I depend on tmobile or is there something I can patch?
Thanks so much man

You have to either call t-mobile and have them unlock it, or there have been people on the forum who have been unlocking. You also will need to flash back to t-mobile fw
Saw this randomly on the main page: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/t-mobile-op7-pro-sim-unlock-t3957662

Follow the guide in this post to revert back to T Mobile:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...obile-one-plus-7-pro-msm-tool-revert-t3936528
I used this guide to get my T Mobile OP7Pro unlocked:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...-unlock-sim-t-mobile-users-heres-how-t3935327
So there is the possibility of rooting without sim unlocking on tmobile if it's still possible. You have to find the q 3 beta use place the file in you sdcard directory update toggle the oem unlock. Find the a copy of the current firmware "update" them follow one of the many tutorial for unlocking your bootloader. I was able to do this but it was 2 months ago the might have since patched this method
www.xda-developers.com/t-mobile-oneplus-7-pro-root-tutorial/amp
I also suggest you do some research before just asking questions. I took me two weeks to find that when I was looking.
