Always On Mode Isn't - Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro

Okay, I have my Fit 2 Pro and wanted to set it up to always on. Set it to always on, wakeup gesture disabled, low brightness, great stuff.
Worked most of the day, then started going screen off instead of going to the clock mode when it times out. Any ideas? Not great for the first day...

Though i deactivated Always On again, i can say that when i tried it, it worked for me without problems.

Yes, thanks, been working for me since too. Restarting the watch didn't help, but restarting watch and phone brought back always on. Weird. Been fine since.
Although with Always On I use use 75% of the battery in a day...

I'm having Sam issue with my new gear fit 2 pro, can't get always on to work. Tried restarting watch and phone and tried various watch faces but still won't work. I got it last week and I'm sure it worked at first.

[Q] Tablet? Oh, you mean my paperweight?

Hello friends. Having lots of issues with my tablet.
A while ago i noticed that my tablet was running a bit sluggish, and the brightness of the screen was flickering when on auto-brightness. I didn't think anything of it, but the next morning when I unplugged it after it was charging all night, it was at 30% after a few minutes. Every time I plugged it in it would say "charged", but a few seconds after I unplugged it it would go back to 30%. It's gotten to the point where I can't use it because it won't turn on. It's plugged in, but I press the power button and the screen lights up for a half second and then dies (i'm assuming).
I've tried other cables, etc, anyone have any ideas? I haven't been able to use my tablet the past 2 days because of this.
Sounds like it's time to RMA...

Was afraid of this...Kinda was hoping it would be a software issue
Think they'll care if I rooted it?
Rooting it would not cause this and I'd get in to a massive argument with anyone that claimed otherwise.

Mine also was having the same issue. I searched high and low for a fix and finally came across a thread here on XDA that suggested deleting a corrupted jpg image that is created by the default camera 'Camera Awesome'. The corrupt jpg image sends the media scanner into an endless loop that taxes the CPU nonstop. The folder location is Android/data/com.smugmug.android.cameraawesome. I would delete any subfolders also. Hope this does the trick for you. Another tip is to stop the Blake_wakelock wakelock created by the Shield Wireless Controller which drains your Wi-Fi continually. Download the 'Disable Service' app from the google play store and once it is installed scroll over to the system apps and long click the 'SHIELD Wireless Controller Service'. From there you can disable the 'BlakeManagerService'. You can always turn it back on if and when you need to use it but that will stop your wakelocks for now. Hope everything works out for you. I was having the same trouble as you but was determined to figure it out as I did not want to send mine back cause it is my first tablet and has a lot of potential. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks for the suggestion, but the problem is I can't get it to turn on at all. Oh well, my replacement has already shipped and gets here Monday
Mine as well
Mine was working fine for 4 days. Set it down then went to power on to read book and nothing. I take it I have no recourse but to call Newegg and RMA?

[Q] Randomly Powering itself off? Battery issue?

So I've had my 16gb Tablet for a few days. Upon first power up, I ran through all the updates, including 5.0. When all the updates were done, I did a complete reset of the system to get Lollipop nice and fresh.
I've noticed that a few days ago, I left the tablet on my nightstand at about 50%, the next afternoon it was completely dead. I didn't think much of it, thinking maybe a program went crazy and sucked it dry. It happens.
Yesterday I left it on my bed at 64%, a few hours later I went to use it and it was powered off. At least I thought it was powered off. I'm noticing this unit might have bad buttons, as they are really squishy and don't have a lot of feedback for the up volume and power. So after pressing the crap out of the power button, it seemed to power back up. It greeted me to showing about 60% battery. Ok, that was weird, but not the end of the world. I plug it in to charge to 1005%.
Last night, I unplugged it at 100% and left it on my computer desk. Just now (next morning) I went to flip open the cover and it wouldn't turn on. I try hitting power and nothing. I hold the power down for about 20 seconds and it finally powers on. It boots up to 48% battery. Now keep in mind that I didn't do anything to it last night when I unplugged it. As a matter of fact, I didn't open apps, but I made sure I swiped all open cards away so nothing was running.
Sorry for the long post, but I want all the details here.
A couple questions:
Anyone else having random sleep issues where it won't wake up? I thought a lot was resolved going to lollipop?
Anyone have issues with soft sloppy buttons with no travel or click on the side? This is my second unit and I thought the first one had better buttons..
I'm having the same issue. Once it goes to sleep, sometimes it randomly just shuts down on its own. When I leave it on overnight, it's almost guaranteed to be off in the morning. Since I've come to work today, it's already automatically shut down twice. What the heck is going on?

It was the first thing I checked, and yes, it's disabled. I did a reset of my device yesterday and I've only had one random shutdown thus far. Not ideal, but still an improvement....
You need RMA, Please read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56907689
Same story for me, tablet was defective, battery drain even in airplane mode with no application installed. If your tablet do this, don't lose time and change it.
I've just purchased one and it's happening exactly the same, it happens constantly, also the battery drain is considerable.
I'm in Lollipop, and I've already done a coupe of factory reset.
Does anyone know if this can be repaired somehow? Or I'll have to return it...
Thanks!

Never requested a RMA to NVIDIA, are they fast? I've bought the tablet in Amazon, I have doubts yo who should I request it.
Thanks
So you should request amazon, unless Nvidia offer you a direct replacement in their forums.
Quick question. Does everyone here experiencing shutdowns have a case with an auto wake/sleep feature?
I too have this issue. Auto off is disabled.
I tried going back to gingerbread and the power issue is non-existent. Once I do all the updates to Lollipop the issue returns. Think it's an issue with the rom, since gingerbread works flawlessly.
I have both a skin and one with auto wake and my k1 has been shutting down on its own even with just tye skin on it.

hi guys, sometimes i press a folder on my home screen and nothing happens...and only after 2 seconds it opens...it happens randomly.....and that only happens on the home screen...is this a known issue?

HTC One M8 reset itself?!

The other day, my phone died midway through a call. When I tried to turn it on, the 0% sign showed up meaning it was completely dead. I had to urgently make a call so 30 mins later, I held the power button again, turned it on, and the phone went to the white HTC screen and then turned off. I finally got home and connected to my phone to my charger after. I let it charge for a bit then turned it on. I knew something was wrong when my phone was hung on the red Verizon boot logo for a while. Minutes later, it went past the Verizon logo and a pop-up appeared that said optimizing app 1 of 44. I thought this was odd because I already got the MM update about 2 weeks ago and since it updated, I never saw that message ever until now.
Once my phone gets past that and finally boots to the homescreen, I realize that a lot of things have gone wrong. First, I got signed out out of all my accounts (Whatsapp, Spotify, Instagram, Facebook, etc). On top of that, my call history was cleared, all my text messages were cleared, and all my contacts that were saved on my phone storage were gone. In addition, I also had to re-update a lot of apps including the HTC ones that you have to upon the MM update. Finally prior to those whole thing happening I had 10.7gb of free space. After this episode, I lost exactly 1 gb of storage and only have 9.7gb free.
I don't understand what could have caused this or why I lost all this data on my phone. Moreover, it doesn't seem like anything was deleted but my phone is just not reading anything that was already there.
mine just did this exact same thing after shutting off from a drained battery. It's like the data partition or whatever got wiped. Right now trying to log back in to everything and set EVERYTHING back up again. This sucks.

i came here for the same thing. mine happened around the same time. only thing i can add here is that my storage is almost maxed out on the phone. makes me wonder if that had something to do with it. but then this happened to two other people around the same time. very weird.
The exact same thing happened AGAIN! I was at the gym listening to music and texting some friends while my battery was at 15%. Went from 15% to 10% in a matter of mere minutes and then from 10% just shut off. Couldn't charge it until I got home so I just kept it in my pocket. Got home about an hour later, put it to charge and then turned it on when battery hit about 10%. Same damn thing, got stuck on the Verizon boot logo and then the dreaded Optimizing Apps message showed up. Once it finished, I was logged out of all accounts, updates to system apps were gone, and widgets/BlinkFeed were gone/reset. And just like last time, suddenly 1GB of storage was gone.
Literally un-freaking-believable. I dreaded that it would happen when my phone shut off and yep, my fears were right. Going to do a factory reset once I backup everything. From there, I am debating whether to replace the battery or replace my phone. While it sucks that it happened to you guys as well, I am somewhat glad its an HTC issue and not just an issue with my personal phone.
Same thing happened to me at 40%
This was recently brought up in the viper rom thread, could be of help.

Your battery needs to be reset. Hold down POWER + VOLUME (can't remember if it was up or down. takes about 10 seconds)and let it keep resetting and keep holding it for 3 minutes. then let go.
It'll fix your battery so that it drains to 0 instead of 13, but it doesn't fix the weird pseudo-reset problem. It's a known issue and many people are struggling with it. My advice is to set EXTREME POWER SAVER to auto-on at 10%, and if you ever see it that low, just turn it off yourself until you get a chance to charge it.

Same thing has been happening to me since the MM upgrade. Before that I had NO issues with my battery so I find it hard to believe that my battery is the problem.
After the third time of this happening I finally decided to to a factory reset. This did not help, phone continues to die anywhere between 15% - 30% and revert some of my settings back to stock.
This is driving me insane as I rely on this phone for personal and work use.
Decided to call HTC support today, I did not expect a solution but wanted to make sure it was reported. Of course they had no idea and claimed to have never heard of this issue.
I am guessing that since the M8 is over two years old we wont be seeing and fix pushed out for this issue. I really like my phone and dont want to upgrade at this time.
Finally somewhere where people are actually having the same issue. I've tried factory resetting the phone, doing a fresh install of the OS (with firmware recovery tool) all with no avail. I note lose all my settings and app configurations every time the phone dies, shuts down or restarts. I hope there's a fix, otherwise it looks like a custom rom is the only way.
Has anyone tried wiping the dalvic cache? I can't get into the recovery on my phone so I can't try it, but heard I it might help.
Had the same issue last week
I was at about 20%, phone shut down. I plugged it in to charge, went to boot it up, and it got stuck on the Verizon bootup screen.
I waited a while and did a hard reset, and it came back on, but was completely wiped. So I had the same problem, which is a real pain, because I use the GOOD app for work, and each time that re-installs I have to get a new PIN. And I have had to re-install the app a few times in the past month for a variety of reasons...

I feel your pain. I use Mobilepass for work and every time my phone resets it deletes my token and I have to request a new one.....
Here is what I did two days ago that seems so far to be working for me. I calibrated the battery. I have tried this in the past but could never get the calibration to work properly. Each time I tried I had the phone plugged into the charger. This time I didnt and the phone went through the battery calibration process like it is supposed to.
Since I have done this my phone will stay on until it gets to 8 or 9% and then shut down but when i charge and turn back on all of my setting are still in place.
To calibrate the battery I held the up volume, down volume and power button (all 3) for a full 2 minutes without the phone being plugged in. During this time the phone will start and get to the HTC splash screen then shut back off, start again to the HTC splash screen then shut off, repeat, repeat, repeat.... after 2 minutes release the buttons and let the phone boot up, plug it in and let it charge to 100%.
I hope this helps,
This happened to me today. I let the battery get a little lower than usual last night, around 13% before shutting it down and plugging it in for the night. Turned it on this morning and it booted up normally. Didn't lose any apps or data, but every time I did something on the phone it gave me those little hints like its a brand new phone. I went to settings and it says it was factory reset at 6:46 a.m. this morning (about the time I turned it on).

Did it reset your ringtone and notification tone settings? Thats what it always has done to me.
I would just like to say that the same thing happens to me as well on my HTC one m8. Battery suddenly dies, now even at 25%, even after a calibration which is just a temporary solution, and when I turn the phone again, SwiftKey settings erased, everything went to stock, messages and contacts are preserved, but the apps start updating itself even though they are not allowed to and I have to manually set a lot of things. It is a total confusion and I literally can't believe HTC allows themselves to not issuing a fix for this disaster.
Was it cold?
Same issue. With mine it seems to be when it gets cold. I was skiing today in 20F but inside my pocket this really shouldn't be an issue. It has turned itself off and refused to restart several times when it has been used to take pictures in cool weather (I live in western OR, it doesn't get COLD, by cool I mean <35F but >20F, usually > 25F). This is the third time it has totally screwed up the phone when it has happened. On another occurrence it reset under normal conditions too. I'm getting pretty sick of it as it is quite a process to get all my VPN tokens reset, get all the apps back etc. Of course it waited until the warranty was out to start acting up.
This time is especially bad, the phone will not restart properly and important processes just constantly flag as stopping so that I can't even get past the initialization screen. It looks like I will have to do a full factory reset. If anyone from HTC is reading...Not acceptable and I won't be buying another phone from you.
Unfortunately I've reached the point where I wouldn't be surprised if it is a programmed planned obsolescence function, but whether or not, this is really annoying behavior.
Sorry to hash up an old thread but I put up with this crap for 5 months before I finally punched and broke the screen out of rage during an important business tech support call when I was at the clients location trying to service their security equipment, it was so embarrassing having to tell them I have to come back especially since it was a remote location.
Mine would wipe contacts, texts etc regularly. I ended up installing Super backup or something and saving my backups on google drive and just restoring everything everytime it happened.
I decided to fix up the phone and replace the battery, broken charging port and smashed screen and unlock bootloader and root but flashing superSU didnt work, got stuck in a bootloop. Anyways through all this I wiped all the caches (including Dalvik cache) flashed the correct stock rom and did the battery calibration and that seemed to have solved the random shutdown and memory leaking issue.....but I guess I wont know for a while.
I have a HTC One 610, and like every once in a while it well automatically reset it self whenever I am in the middle of a text message, on facebook, or even sending an email on phone. Its getting annoying when my cell reset its self.
what needs to be done to it? and should I do.

try a factory reset
I know its old but people are having the same issue still so I'm gonna paste this everywhere i find this problem.
There is a Modified stock rom named "Android_Revolution_HD-One_M8_53.1" and its almost the stock M8 without bloatware and so much more stability improvements. So hear me out and flash it with a custom recovery (i did it with twrp) and it seems to be working fine so far. Give it a go before you trash your -still so good- phone to the open seas.
Well, this issue is still happening. my phone has been doing the same for about a week now. ive made several attempts to reset the battery and had to reinstall back ups every time its happened also. the only difference i think now is that its happening at 90% instead of the usual 15%. ive been following instructions to hold volume up, down, and power (with the phone off) for about 2 minutes and then letting go. i have my extreme power saver set to come on at 15% but Im not even getting that low before it shuts off and resets. i have however noticed that recently that if you plug the phone on charge after it first dies you can avoid the phone resetting.. this may be a fluke but its allowing me to deal with the battery problem now without the loss of my data, contacts, etc.
This is exactly the reason why HTC One M8 is the last HTC phone I will ever purchase. Imagine the hassle of phone factory resetting on its own. Horrible.

Rapid battery drain on Samsung Gear S3...about 50% per hour at times!

My S3 Frontier was a problem child when I first got it a year ago. It would never stay connected to my phone, and all I did was tinker with it and reset it over and over again for months. I was ready to Ebay it when the Tizen 3 update was pushed. Since that time, this watch has worked great, up until now. About a month ago I got new iPhone. I had a LG V10 Android phone and was a little concerned that the iPhone would mess up the watch. The Samsung app on IOS was a bit limited, but it still worked fine. About 2 days ago, the watch all of a sudden started eating up the battery. It went from 100% to 31% in about 3 hours Tuesday morn. I charged it over night, and yesterday it was fine. Today it was OK up until an hour or so ago. It went from 71% to 17% in just over an hour. I was not even using the watch. I have wifi on auto, the display always off, brightness on 6, heart rate monitor off, and no 3rd party apps installed. All I use the watch for is to keep me alerted when I get incoming texts, weather alerts, and it tells me to get up off my arse sometimes and move! I do not use it to make or answer calls, GPS and location is off. Up until now, when I would put the watch on the charger when I went to bed, the battery would be at 70-75%. I have about 20 or so watch faces all from the Samsung store and have uninstalled Facer and Watchmaker. I do not see how the watch faces could be causing this when the screen is off, but I do not know all the technical details on how this thing operates. The Samsung app on my phone does not show anything out of the ordinary running on the watch. Does anybody have any ideas before I rest this thing, or worse yet, chuck it and just go back to using my $10.00 Walmart watches!!?
Won't hurt to try another factory reset before you retire it.
Same thing for mine was great then all the sudden drains battery like crazy.
I just did ANOTHER reset from the watch, and also removed and reinstalled the Gear app on my phone. Afterwards, did not install anything on the watch. It is still draining way too fast. This morn at 6 it was at 100%, after not using it at all, it is at 82. It is still setup as in my original post. The only thing I can think of that may have caused this was a small update that got pushed on it a few weeks go. Either way, I am tired of fighting it! I may have to contact Samsung, but I think it is out of warranty. If this thing gets the Tizen 4 update, I will give it another shot.
I just thought of something. Is there a way to reinstall Tizen 3.0.0.2 again manually without hacking the watch or sending it back to Samsung? Maybe resetting it is not enough and it needs to to be wiped , then have the OS reinstalled.
I just started experiencing the rapid drain as well? Noticed it yesterday. Put the watch on at 7am and by 11am had the warning pop up that battery was at 15%
If you Google this, there are lot of folks having the same problem with this watch. I was just on a Samsung forum where several people were reporting this issue after the 3.0.0.2 update. The thing is, my watch ran great after the 3.0.02 update! Better than it did on version 2. My problem started after no updates. My best guess is another patch or the Tizen 4 update (assuming this watch will get it) may hopefully fix this. I am found no resolution so far.
I would say try a couple things. Turn Wi-Fi off completely. Mine gets hammered when I have it on in any way, and you COULD be seeing it poll like crazy in Auto. After testing that, I'd also try turning the BT off too (Just to test)
Mine started doing this two days ago and I made no changes (I always have Wifi off, heart rate once every ten minutes, AOD off, , no GPS, non-LTE watch). I usually get up to three days and now if I fully charge it by 9pm is't dead in less than 11 hours.
I have this problem as well, started yesterday. Looking through the apps, seems like s health is the one to blame! Before once charge was getting the phone still at 77% by the end of the day....
Same here, since a couple of days ago, Samsung Health draining the battery. CanĀ“t be a coincidence.
I guess it is possible the battery is going bad, but rechargeable batteries normally do not start losing capacity at one year of age, and it is normally a gradual process. I tried turning off wifi, and that did not help. Between 6 this morn and now (8.00 am) it went from 100 to 88% and all it did was show a few text messages from my wife. To add to my misery, the Samsung app just updated on my iPhone and now the program crashes whenever I open it and to go the Gear apps and faces. I can try reinstalling it, but it will reset the watch AGAIN, and I will have to start all over. If I was Bruce Banner I would be turning into The Hulk right now!!
son of a b!tch... i was hoping that it was a fixable thing, seems like its a widespread issue. Im having the exact same problem. started 2 days ago. Factory reset the watch and didnt even install any apps on it, just configured the watchface to diable the AOD and bezel wake. Its been fine for about 10 months and boom... utter failure. guess ill start a claim with samsung
Yes mine has worked great for over a year then all of a sudden 2 days ago it started going from 100% to dead in 3 hours or less.
sooooooo, i submitted my claim info on samsungs site and no more than 30 min following, my gear started turning its watchface on while on the charger very randomly. Did it about 6 times. Stupid coincidence? poltergeist? or are they digging into the device?
