Normal phone calls can be answered no problem but when someone tries to call via Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp, the S3 drops the call before it can be answered. It's quite frustrating as I use these messenging apps to make calls lots more than the actual phone app.
Also, I can't make outgoing calls on Messenger while the S3 is connected via Bluetooth. I'm guessing it tries to use it as a bluetooth headset and something goes wrong.
Is anyone else experiencing something similar?
I am uasing my gear s3 with my oneplus 3
I have the same issue and can't find a solution...
I'm not good with Tasker or other automation apps, but is there a way to set a rule to disable bluetooth when there is an incoming or outgoing call? that would be a good temporary solution.

Or is it just me?
While on a call, a incoming call renders all audio on both calls dead. Regardless if you answer, ignore or let go to VM, neither person can no longer hear any audio.
I have tried this in many different scenarios. I am using T-Mobile in the NYC area.
If anyone else is experiencing this, please respond.
UPDATE!!!!!
The "Viber" app I installed was the cause of the problem. Once I uninstalled it immediately fixed the problem.
me too.
Hi, I have the exact same problem. It is quite frustrating.
The only work around I have found so far is to go in to call settings -->additional settings and turn off call waiting. Which is also kind of annoying.
Does anyone have a more elegant solution? (like having the incoming call sound a beep instead of taking over my entire call and rendering the phone useless!)

kindly help me expert
In order to use Whatsapp voice calls on my Galaxy S6 I have to turn off Bluetooth.
Anyone know of a way around this?
Gear S3 frontier paired with new Note 9 causing issues in whatsapp. Everytime I make a whatsapp call the Bluetooth Icon is always on/selected and sometimes calls go on speakerphone. Also randomly WhatsApp hangs and no way to hangup the call but to request other party to hangup call and WhatsApp resumes. Making normal calls over GSM carrier works fine.

Also incoming calls go to speaker.. Outgoing calls are fine but show Bluetooth Icon as if it is selected. Tried Viber and that works fine. If anyone had a note 9 and a gear S3 do chime in.

HI all,
My gf's phone behaves in a really strange way...
During an audio call using common communicators, say skype, whatsapp, messenger, if a new incoming gsm/lte connection is coming, then it automatically takes priority over communicator call. Communicator call is put on hold.
What is most annoying, is that you are not able to inform the person on other side of the line that there is a new incoming connection - no, the second incoming connection is appearing on screen, current connection is put on hold. To clarify, user can chose whether to accept or cancel new incoming call, but the 'communicator' call is already on hold;(
I find this most annoying coming from iphone environment, where I have full control on all live and incoming connections and where no connection is prioritised. When im on a whatsapp audio call and a regular gsm connection is coming, I can let other person know that I have incoming connection and decide to answer, cancel or put current call on call. I find this rather normal behaviour. Unfortunately this is not the case on my gf's phone which drives me nuts
Please let me know if this is case of specific ROM, or android os in general? I hope you could guide me toward an easy solution, hopefully not requiring reinstalling new rom. Many thanks!
Phone is running MIUI Global 10.2.1.0, Android 8.0.0.
Is it possible to receive and talk in the watch's microphone for Viber and/or facebook messenger?
I already tried the messenger app in the Official List of Sideloaded Apps but it doesn't make phone calls and viber is no where to be found
But Google Duo is works as you can answer its calls just like a normal phone call.
Is there a work around?
