[Q] APT-X HD Bluetooth Audio

What is the story with APT-X? I am starting to see bluetooth headphones and other "receivers" supporting this, but I am not finding any information on which phones, mp3 players, or other "transmitters" support APT-X. Can anybody shed any light on this subject?
Would like to know this as well.
No point in getting a new phone if this isn't supported, at least I will have reasonable audio quality through bluetooth if I get a headset + phone with this.

apt-X is a lossless codec for bluetooth audio, MUCH better than A2DP.
If htc (for example) want´s to pimp a phone with it, they have to pay licence fee to CSR. As there are only a few bt receiver with apt-X, they will not pay and implement it (instead they get crappy "beats")
I think, apt-X is only a kernel-driver, no hardware, but not sure about this.
If so, a kernel chef could cook some additional codec in, but this is not open source codec...
I would LOVE an apt-X enhanced bt kernel for my sensation!

[Q] Equalizer on Samsung Omnia 7 official unlocked

Good evening guys,
I want to know if there is an option to have an equalizer on my official unlocked Samsung Omnia 7 with Windows Phone 7 (Mango Update 7740).
I really miss and need this feature. I always have to take my iPod Touch with me too hear music..
Sincerely,
domeyx
Yes there is if you can manage to get your hands on a good copy of Sound Enhancer from HTC.
I prefer equalizer than the one that's in the apps.I prefer to minimize/maximize the bass treble and so on and so forth.Just my opinion.

FauxSound possible?

Hello!
I've been lurking here for a long time and it's time for a question..
I have sensitive IEM's (In Ear Monitors) and when I plug them in to the Galaxy S Plus there's a loud hiss which makes listening to music impossible..
There's a new app called FauxSound similar to the famous Voodoo control but it has to be implemented in the kernel.
The app can be found in Google Play. (Sorry I'm not allowed to post links!)
My question to the DEV's goes:
Can this be implemented in a CM10 beta3 compatible kernel, and if so, would somebody be kind enough to compile it for us?
Thank you!
ps. I have zero expereince or knowledge about building kernels so that is why I'm asking.
Hello!
That would be great... But it's not a free app, isn't it?
EDIT: I have had a question in Galaxy S forum's question part, but nobody answered. So, in Galaxy S Plus do we have a Wolfson DAC? Because as far as I know, the original Galaxy S has it.

No. The S+ doesn't have the Wolfson codec.
Yeah, unfortunately no Wolfson in our phone and I can't afford an S3 or S4 ATM..
With the FauxSound app one could lower the headphone gain, which would make this phone a better source. Right now there's just way too much hiss noise.
The S+ has a Qualcomm chipset and if it has WCD93xx Audio Chip, this could be implemented in the kernel.

You could try playing with DSP manager if you're on cm10...

Bluetooth audio quality

Hey guys,
I was using a oneplus 3T in combination with the Bose QC35 headphones, the stock quality was extremely poor compared to the audio of an iphone (bluetooth connection).
With the use of v4a (root) or MusicFX (non-root) I was able to tweak the audio quality to a reasonable level.
I´m currently using a OP6 running android P, build PKQ1.180417.001, and again the stock bluetooth audio is poor. The MusicFX app does not work anymore.
What would be the best way to improve the bluetooth audio quality, or is the next update expected to introduce an audiotuner (With Bluetooth support) on the OP6 with android P.
Thanks in advance!
I'm using oos 5.1.5 with b&o beoplay h7 and Poweramp beta.
This setup supports aptx which improves audio quality. Also going for the beta of Poweramp is recommended, lot's of quality Options

Thanks for the reply, many people use Poweramp and the quality is better however the Poweramp equalizer cannot be used with Spotify..
Did you try to change the Bluetooth audio profile in developer options?

The QC35 only supports AAC and SBC, I tried both of them but there doesn't seem to be much difference. Aptx hd is unfortunately not supported by the QC35..
I use Op6 with Sony mdr100abn and Ldac is working. Bluetooth sound quality for me is better like on Note8.

Is there no workaround for this Poweramp issue, I mean the MusicFX not working? It even works on my cheap Xiaomi X4 so whats up?

For me sound on headphones is low especially in apps where sony's sound system does not work, for example youtube.
I've always found the sound superb and plenty loud enough. I've not come across anyone saying the headphones are too quiet before.
Atmos is diesigned to give you extra dimension to suround sound encoded audio, if anything it will make standard stereo playback seem even quieter as it tries to project 3D into some 2 channel headphones.
Have you considered upgrading your headphones?
How you will use Atmos?
The only situation, where Atmos make sense, if you stream something via Hdmi over an AV Receiver (which can handle Atmos and also the loudspeakers are connected; this means min 5.1 plus Atmos LS ==min 8 Loudspeakers)
Atmos make, in my opinion, no sense with a headset....
