Hi there,
Watch: LEO-DLXX Firmware N7I56C
Huawei P10: VTR-AL00C00
I have recently purchased a Huawei P10 and Watch 2 4G from China and have a few questions:
Google Play Store:
When I tried to setup Android Pay, it says it needs an update. However the Play Store says it’s updated. When I’m on the Play Store on the web, it doesn’t list the P10 and Watch as one of my devices. Therefore:
1. Is the Play Store I installed from the Huawei Store on the P10 different to the international one?
2. Is there a Play Store available to install from the Huawei Store on the Watch? If so, what is the Chinese Characters and pinyin I need to search for it?
Note: I see Google Play Services in the Settings-Apps on the watch
Facebook:
1. Can I install Facebook and Facebook Messenger on the watch?
I’m receiving the notifications from Messenger, but I cannot reply to them, as the app isn’t on the watch.
Android Wear:
1. Is there a version of Android Wear that has been hacked to remove the region check?
I assume there’s no region check on the iPhone, as when I installed Android Wear, downloaded from the App Store, I didn’t receive a prompt to install the China version.
Google Assistant:
1. Can the Google Assistant understand English?
International ROM:
1. Have there been many issues with flashing the watch to the International version since the guides were posted by Giangishanhai, CadBuRy.VN and DrChch in May?
2. Which guide should I be following for the Huawei Watch 4G LEO-DLXX?
3. Lastly, I assume the warranty will be made void, if I flash it?
I have seen a few posts on watches being bricked. This is what I will be doing if the China version is too limiting for me.
Thanks in advance..
P.S: I previously wasn't receiving any notifications on the watch, and after an updates from firmware NXH19Y to N7I56C, they have slowly begun appearing
I have the exact same questions regarding the international rom. I currently have a DLXX with NXH19Y

I see you installed the International rom... Are you using International Android Wear?
Keen to get Android Pay working as when using the China version, it tells you to update Android wear... but the Chinese version is already up to date And I think Huawei Pay is trying to connect to China's Network and uses Union Pay. At least that's what I assume with the rough translation from Google
And can you access the Google Play store on the watch?
I installed the international rom and use the android wear app from the play store in Canada. Everything works perfectly. Once I relocked my bootloader, I was able to relock my bootloader. I even got an OTA update today!
And yes, android play works fine on the watch. But I did need a companion phone to setup android pay.
Sounds great it's giving more confidence to flash my watch.

have you flashed your LEO-DLXX? If yes, which version firmware? NXG74I or NXG46G? Thanks!

I flashed my Huawei watch 2 LEO-LDXX today successfully following giangishanghai instruction (need run oem unlock first) to firmware version NXG71I. OTA works, now update to NXH19T. Also Android pay installed, but not test yet.
Try this guy
I have had the same problem and after searching a number of forums I saw a comment from a guy based in China who said he could fix the problem. I was a little skeptical but I contacted him and he did it and the watch works perfectly. This is a copy of the post he added to the forum.

I have the Chinese and the English Global ROM,both Huawei Watch2 Bluetooth version and the 4G version, and the Huawei Watch 1 generation. my Email is [email protected] Any one need help can contact me via this Email or QQ or Wechat 2070862217. Maybe I can help you flash your watch to international version or the Chinese version. Thanks.
He charged me about $25 USD - The only issue or concern you might have is that he did it remotely, asked my friend to install some software and connect the watch via the charging cable. My friend said it took about 30 minutes.
Hope this is of help.

I'm really interested in this phone but should I wait for the EU version or buy the version they are selling in china
It seems ok frequency wise - https://www.frequencycheck.com/comp...-dual-sim-td-lte-64gb-nxt-al10/united-kingdom
I've seen people pick international English on a menu and it looked all English - is that correct ? - even the non google stuff
Would I have to worry about anything else ?
Any help most appreciated as I want to replace my one plus one that is starting to feel under powered with the amount of tasker stuff I'm running on it
thanks

You do need to check the frequencies as you have done. The Mate 8 has allot of bands covered.
Android OS on Huawei's phones have about every language available. There is some apps on the phone that is in Chinese, but they can be removed, and are for the china market.
Google Apps will not be preloaded, but you will need to download from the Huawei App Store called HiApp. That HiApp app is in mixed Chinese and English, so not everything is translated. After that you have Google Apps, and can download from Google Play that will follow your OS language.
I have had the Honor 6, Honor 6 Plus, Honor 7 and now Mate S, all the Chinese version and they have all been working fine here in Denmark. I have had no problems with network, GPS or WiFi here or on vacation. .
..oh, the change log for OS updates are (mostly) in Chinese

Yes, you do.
It is quite simple: Open HiApp -> Search "Google" -> Click on the Google banner in the top of the search results -> All Google apps is listed, click the download button for each (downwards arrow).
Other than Google Play, you need the Contact sync and Calander sync apps from the list. The rest can be downloaded from Google Play Store afterwords.
I had no troubles with a P8max recently, most sellers out of China will pre-install Google Play for you. My Mate 8 arrives next Monday, can let you know of if it differs any from the P8Max in terms of language difficulties.
Hi,
I bought a Mate 8.
It come with google playstore installed.
I arrived to install all app I want from google playstore.
The only problem I foun, I can't import my contact list, but will be solve for sure.
Two of us have Google contacts sync working, although neither of us is entirely sure how (I was granting permissions/trusted status/open from other apps statuses etc as a batch, so not sure which of those actions allowed for contacts import sorry).
If your google contact can't not sync.
Do you install the google contact sync? you can find it from the "huawei app store".
Install the google contact sync apk, and remove your account, reboot, login your contact again.
It works fine in my mate8 with google contact.
I can use almost all of google service in mate 8 now. (no matter google play, gmail, hangout, contact or anyother)
But, the only problem is that I can't get the location during google map without GPS enable.
Google map can't use cell or wifi to detect where it is, but it work fine with GPS enable.
I have no idea that how to fix it...
After searching the solution from google, it seems I need to root and replace networklocation.apk....
Is there any other method? (I don't know how to root huawei's device...)
I've recieved my mate 8 a week ago, and have had the issues that most of you are talking about.
Assuming the issue is from the battery manager itself; click on the setting icon up left of the screen, you need to switch on (Keep mobile data on when sleeping).
Of course that is in congunction with the rest of the settings/permissions.
Good luck,
Just don't forget to update emui

is it fast and smooth? is the cpu very powerful?
Yes - not had any problems at all.
I'm coming from a one plus one with a few badly writtern tasker profiles (quiet at work, and home nights with auto voice and autovera stuff), 3 mail clients including a touchdown exchange one. It was too much for the one plus but my new mate 8 is still flying.
Problems I have/had
The sync thing - was mashmellow permissions and a restart. (You do not need to wipe and restart.
The app draw - not a problem just a concept change the mate 8 doesn't have one your home screens are your app draw. So its a case of being tidy with folders. But swiping up on the home screen gives you an app search.
Dictionary - wish I could figure out how to copy the words I had stored in my dictionary.
Chinese App store - keeps telling me I have 18 apps that need updating - they don't the are just wanting to change to the chinese version.
Battery life - the one plus would last a day and 1/2 if I forgot to charge it the 1/2 I would start not usjng it, mate 8 will nearly last 2 days (it also gives me stats in ma about what is eating the battery)
Overall its a great phone
M
I've received my mate 8 one week ago... And unfortunately I had a rare problem with my notifications (whatsapp, viber, and other apps).
I did trust those apps from the system, and followed the instructions from the huawei guide, but the problem still.
So anybody have any idea how to solve this problem.
Thanks
Hi, i want to buy a Mate 8 but I'm not sure for the sync problem for google. what type of problem you have?
it is a great phone but unfortuantely I have the same problem with the google sync as well as not getting any notifications. Please help!
didnt someone mention that putting the phone into performance mode solved this?
Tried it hasn't worked for me
Location Services are not working unless you activate GPS - AL10 model;
Any solutions?
yeah, several other users already reported that energy-saving location services somehow dont seem to work...unless u switch to high-performance mode @gps
Hey guys, I am trying to login to Huawei services and I always get the message "due to service location restrictions the system is unable to provide services to you".
Does anyone knows how to bypass that?

Ok... It might be repetitive, I come from the LG / Sammy world, so I am new to the Huawei universe...
I've been reading through a lot of threads, like a lot hahaha, I just want to get one last confirmation before I order it (still not sure if I'm gonna get the L29 or L00, although the 6gb/128 is really interesting to me) .
I know people like @duraaraa are working hard to get us something rolling! And thanks for that! I know some other devs (from other phones) are wanting to jump into this pool, so this could become and interesting devs device in the very close future.
But I have some questions, or more like confirmations to ask:
Huawei now really "unofficially" released the GMS for the Chinese / Hong-Kong version of the m9 (4gb/32, 4gb/64, 6gb/128 and 6gb/256). For the users on the AL00, can you please confirm the following :
- you have a 100% English rom or other mulingual possibility (meaning no trace of Chinese writing or other, except maybe some Chinese apps)
- Google playstore, all apps are installable (swiftkey, nova launcher, etc..) and are working 100%
- push services (Gmail, exchange, etc..) are working 100%
- auto sync services (Dropbox, Google photos, etc...) are syncing with no issues
- that you are on the latest firmware and you think now that updates will bring no issues in the future
- do you really see a big difference with the extra 2gb of Ram or is it placebo
- if you do have issues, please tell me
- last but not least :which of the 2 you think will have more development? AL 29 or AL 00
- you have a 100% English rom or other mulingual possibility (meaning no trace of Chinese writing or other, except maybe some Chinese apps)
Yes. No Chinese writing except in Chinese apps.
- Google playstore, all apps are installable (swiftkey, nova launcher, etc..) and are working 100%
I don't have nova launcher, but swiftkey works. Everything is installable.
- push services (Gmail, exchange, etc..) are working 100%
Yes.
- auto sync services (Dropbox, Google photos, etc...) are syncing with no issues
Yes.
- that you are on the latest firmware and you think now that updates will bring no issues in the future
Yes, but without unlocking the bootloader you will only be able to install updates that Huawei wants you to install. Ergo, no betas.
- do you really see a big difference with the extra 2gb of Ram or is it placebo
How would I know? I only have 6GB version. It probably only matters if you use all the RAM.
- if you do have issues, please tell me
Screen touch responsiveness is not as good as other phones. Huawei has been adjusting it a lot from build to build. Hopefully they get it right soon.
- last but not least :which of the 2 you think will have more development? AL 29 or AL 00
With an unlocked bootloader, development will be the same for both. With locked bootloader, you currently have more options with AL00, because that's what I have so that's what I'm working with, and because Huawei has several versions of firmware which can be flashed to AL00, but only one which can be flashed to L29 at the moment. I think Huawei focuses mainly on China, so support of the Chinese phone will be better.
Well, thanks for that quick reply!
Can confirm all Duraaraa said. I got mine, had B109 with working g Google services and I uninstalled all the Google stuff, did OTA to B125. Then it offered B135 OTA so did that. After reboot I stalled GMS and Play store and all good. Had to install Google contacts from APK mirror, and had to go to permission manager and allow Google app as trusted and auto start to get OK Google functionality working but all good now.
Only issue I am having is a few apps won't install. For instance, the CBS watch TV app ... click on install from store and it starts download and the before it finishes store just closes. A couple games do this as well. Working on figuring it out.

@SWBgHz hi, I think to solve your issue with CBS watch TV app go to the play store app permission and make sure Storage have that permission on.
I got mine last Friday nice phone, software is really bad.
After i got everything working on mine. now play store will not work ...keep downloading. i did try everything and still not working.
I have few apps needs update , it is just downloading
I can not get notification from any app
it seems that i will have to factory reset.
I think you guys should download HI suit for back up and restore .
waiting for a better Rom.
Edit: Play store start behave normal again and its working fine.
still can not see notification from my major apps like gmail...etc
I had already tried adding additional permissions as well as setting Play store as trusted app but no joy. Just a few apps do same as CBS on, store closes during download phase.

Make sure that Play Store has Storage permissions. That should fix your problem.

If you have purchased through Google Play, Gmail has nothing to do with. It will just validate the purchase through Google Play itself. So, make sure that you are using the same account on your new device and Google Play Store and Google Play Services can reach the Google Play servers. If the problem persists, kindly remove your account from Google Play and add it back again after restarting the device. It may fix the issues.

You might have downloaded the Google Play build. Due to Google Play restrictions, Google Play builds doesn't come up with the component to validate the licenses from our licensing servers. It can only validate that apps that are purchased from Google Play.

Have you enabled the Background Play option? By default, background play is enabled only for audio files.
If the app is getting killed while on background play, kindly try the latest beta build from our website. We have improved our background play to work better with the background process restrictions on the newer android versions.

We regret the inconveniences caused. Based on our investigation, it has been found that Android 8 and newer versions no longer allow the apps to read the list of accounts available on the device as it used to be on the older versions. So, it will fail to activate the license purchased through our website.
We are working towards releasing a quick workaround to address the issues caused by the android restrictions. Hopefully, it will be available in the next few days. Meanwhile, you can clear the MX Player data and disable the contact permission of the MX Player. It will allow you to run the app for a few days even in the "License not verified" state.

Hello there.
I have been using MX player pro for some time, purchased via Google play on my Nokia 6.
After latest update to Android pie i can't use it anymore.
I tried to uninstall it and install it again but it doesn't show up as my other purchased apps, but asks me to buy it again?
Could you help me with this issue?
Thanks in advance

They might find a way like making a new app store or using their appgallery.

This exactly does not take much effort for most people here on XDA to install g services and store. I am getting myself a M30 Pro and will use it that way, idk about politic shhite.

dont you think that google might block them from connecting to their servers etc so it might not be that possible after all
That's what I read, this phone will now able to connect to google calendar or google drive which rely on google service.
Of course, Huawei has Chinese apps alternative as what China people using in China.
mate 30 pro will have android 10 though

I was planing to do the same since its quite easy to install both gplay services and gplay store , but the problem is the phone is not going to get any future android updates. whats going to happen when android 11 comes out.
Andoid is open source so i guess we will get updates, i am going to wait on Huawei to clarify a bit first
Android Open Source Project, AOSP is free to use for anybody. Huawei pay Google about 5$ per device and preinstall Google Apps and Services.
You will get a Huawei Mate 30 with Android 10, EMUI but without Google Play, Gmail, Youtube, etc.
It is Android, so you can install it and use it, like any other Android device. On Xiaomi Mi Store (chinese version) there is a Google Installer.
I understand Google Mobile Services is easy but how about Google Pay and over-riding thaty SafetyNet thing?
I remember there was this work around using MAGISK?? But do u have to root in order for it to work?
confirm can install

Mate 30 fingerprint is safety net compliant
Its fairly easy to install gapps on it
Most of New released models where already pre certified, as this happened before the ban..
Wanda Mobile, a reputable UK retailer, is now selling this phone "with Google Play Store installed".

It will work like any other Android phone except it does not have the licensed Google Mobile Service (GMS) built-in; there is an app that one can download to install the google framework that will install Google assistance which will allow Google Play Store to be installed in the phone. Because the phone does not have GMS so many apps in Google Play Store will not work. One will have to get from alternative source like APKmirror
Ok Guys. I have a M30 and it has not been easy to install GMS on it. As you know LZPlay app is dead. And installing framework, services and play Store is not working. I get force close after the install.
Any thoughts on this? (bootloader locked and unrooted)

Hey, Boas Super Dragão!
Unfortunately it´s not been easy to install gapps since the LZPLay backdoor wich was using undocumentede APIS has been closed. I have a Mate 30 Pro with Bootloader unlocked and no root. I tried a bunch of suspicious GMS installers, and tried to intsall the services and framework manually with all the available permissions and the result is always the same. App force closes. Alguma ideia? Abraço

Just presumed you are living in China. Shouldn't be hard, they can live without Google, FB, IG, whatsapp. So can you.

Congratulations on your opinion on what I can and cannot live without. But your reply is absolutely useless. Thanks for the spam

Gracias Juan. For now I am trying to actually install as much as possible of original Google Apps. But that article is very interesting and has some great alternatives.
Got it here in UAE. So far no Google method is working from the Mate 30 pro thread.

Did you use phone clone followed by chat partner all with device ID?
How can I add Google pack into this device? I used mate 30 promethod which was working perfectly with that device but in this device it won't work. It keep showing me message "this device isn’t Play Protect certified"

Hello, I also Have a Huawei Mate XS and yes, I tried to do the procedure with Chat partner APP and device ID registration, but it doesn't work. You still can't login to the play store and you receive constant google play service notifications. Unusable. I've also tried to use the procedure described in the answers to the video (using Chat partner after cloning my old Huawei P30pro) but no luck.
I resolved to use the phone without google services, using APK Pure and Aptoide for missing apps.
Still there are apps that I normally use that just don't work. So far:
- Tesla;
- Couple of games I play;
- Revolut;
- Netflix;
- Gmail;
- google maps works but you can't login to google.
All in all I'm still pretty satisfied with the phone and I'm waiting for a definitive workaround for google play store.
Google package
If you have solutions plz post it
Have you tried VMOS apk? As a limited alternative there is also an app called G-Whizz plus and Gapps browser as a temporary solution.
Yes otherwise you need third party apps stores like spk mirror, f Droid, Aurora store or app suche.vone can use internet access to GMS.
VMOS don't dismiss without tryjng

Many current Huawei phones with Kirin chipset are not fully compatible with WMOS and vice versa.
I'm trying to get used to using the device Sans Google. Trying to explore alternatives and see how to reduce Google life haha.
