The Question is Could we install this source files of nougat

LG has released open source code distribution for LGH900 nougat update. What does this actually means? Can some one educate me? beginner here .

Sadly unless AT&T unlock the bootloader we will not be able to install this.

This is only the source code from LG that they give to the carriers so they can add their bloat, etc. I have stumbled across this a good 2-3 months ago now and nothing has happened yet so I'm not too convinced att will go through with this update.

At this point, I think we will never get the official noutgat update. I mean, its October now. Oreo is out. Att doesn't care about the 5 people who still have a V10. I hope they prove me wrong but...

Just received a notification. Something is coming down to my phone right now....

Meh - looks like a security update. Nothing to see here.

It's for the V30
The V30, just out, comes with Nougat installed. Not going to get anymore updates on the V10. AT&T and LG want you to buy a new phone. I f you want a phone that will be updated, at least for the next three years, get an unlocked Pixel 2.

Or do what I did and buy a OnePlus 3 after my LG V10 died this summer. I had Android 8.1 literally 2 days after source was released.

H90022b
My understanding is H90022b has the Nouget update. However, I haven't found a .kdz file yet. Anyone have it?

When I get at&t to carrier unlock my V10 will it update then?

It means that AT&T is working on the nougat version of this device maybe recieving it in the month October
They are so slow with updating devices since Verizon, T-Mobile already got nougat on the lg v10

It's almost October of the following year, and here we are still using Marshmallow.

Just like many reported here..
Fingerprint setting error, can't uninstall app, can't tethering, etc.
You don't experience such things?
In case you don;t, do you mind to create a full dump including the system partition? If you have a medusa pro box, it will be easier..

theres a thread here that one member sent an email to alcatel and they responded that we will get an update soon to fix some of the issues we have
I bought an Alcatel Hero 2 from Amazon. Haven't recieved it, but i saw from youtube videos that they said it's chubby. The device has Android 4.4, do you think Alcatel will release an upgrade to upgrade to Lollipop? Or am I stuck with this version for ever?
I just wanted to know how good Alcatel is with software upgrades

Is there not a Hero 2 section of the forum? The idol 3 was only released at the end of may and is still being released to other places such as canada on june 30th so it's a little early for it to have any updates.

No there isn't. How can make them here create a section for the Hero 2? The Hero 2 was release last September, so is it also early to have an upgrade officially from Alcatel? How good is Alcatel with upgrades? i.e, do they care about upgrades? Or am I stuck with Kitkat?

Talk to the mod's to see about getting an area added....as for the Hero 2....a quick google seems to indicate it's been rooted...you should check google to see if custom recoveries have been setup for your phone...if so I'm sure someone somewhere has created rom's for you.

I found only a web page that says there's a Lollipop ROM for it, but it seems SCAM (cloudwire.co/alcatel-hero-2/). Because the same web page is created for many devices (cloudwire.co/) with the same wordings and pictures, even the same comments. This page is replicated across many web pages with the same comments but with different names for the users! So I'm afraid to follow the instructions there, because it can have spyware.
If I build a vanilla ROM from the Android source code, do you think it will run fine on my Alcatel? Or am I going to face drivers issues? Also, if it failed, can I return to the original ROM? Many thanks for your help!

You can't flash a rom to the device without a custom recovery such as CWM or TWRP. You can't build a recovery without the source to build the boot.img for your particular device. It's alot more involved than you think and if you want more info you might try posting your questions to Android Q&A.

From the quick looks of it. It looks like that could very well be the small update that most of us got when we first got out phone. It looks like he had an older build version of 5.0.2 and the ota was only 84mb in size. All the 5.1.1 updates I have seen have been sever hundred megs.

I have received also an update 5.0.2-01004 on my idol 4.7. Does somebody now the changes of the update.

I can confirm, though there seems to be 2 different updates (maybe one for the 5.5" and one for the 4.7")
My Idol 3 5.5" (OT-6045Y) has just been updated to 5.0.2-010 03. As expected, I can't find any changelog anywhere, so I will report here any noticeable change as I find them.
EDIT: Just found a new animation in the display settings when reversing the phone. It's called Helix.
Today i get the update to the 5.5" 32g i don.t know what are the modifications. When the phone was getting actualized it has got an system actualization and an android actualization the update has 120mb
Sorry my bad English...
I don't know why I have this build number on my Idol 3 whats the latest build number?

That is if you didn't update to 5.0.2/010 03 yet.

If/when I get the update (I'm in Canada, so might take a while) I'll try to capture the URL for the OTA for ZE552KL. No promises for the full ROM link.

Nougat is rolling out... for beta testers
in Zentalk's Forum, beta testers are reporting Nougat Rolling out
Just spoke with asus and though they have taken down the facebook site, they said that they roll out shortly. We just need to be patient i think
Do you know if the smaller version of the Zenfone 3 (ZE520KL) is getting the update too? It's not included in the beta testing but the two devices always get the same updates on the same date.

Yes both will get Nougat at the same time, just wait a bit
Getting a bit impatient haha
I heard this update is only rolled out to registered beta testers for time being. So, regular users should wait a bit more until around early or mid Feb...
That is too bad. Again asus is late. This device has some solid hardware, but the software updates are really lagging
nougat is now on hold.great
Just added more info to my TLDR post. ASUS hasn't given me an answer yet, although they have promised to contact me again shortly with a real answer for me to share here with you guys.

When die you get the patch?
I'm in Poland and my device is on February security patch.
Probably covid influenced Motorola software plans.
Wow, I'm in Canada and I'm still on December 2019 security patch. Figures, Canadians get screwed again...
I've talked to the Motorola support engineer Caroline. The update for Europe is delayed, but has already been rolled out to Great Britain.
She said that usually the updates are released end of the month.

Yeah, mine's reteu as well, also on 1 February 2020.
This would mean that each update-channel is also fragmented in a lot of different pieces.
So there is no way of knowing when you'll receive an update?

I'm on reteu and I just received the March update today. That's very late.
I gave up on Lenovo and flashed the RETAIL/RETBR QSAS30.62-24-6 that @tys0n uploaded to Android File Host over RETEU using fastboot. That brings it up to date with the April update. It'll stop me getting further OTAs, but I can switch back whenever the RETEU channel catches up.
Who knows, maybe Lenovo are waiting for various network providers to validate the firmware before releasing it across Europe, where many people (perhaps including network provider employees) are still in COVID-19 lockdown?
I've just gotten the April patch now which is a week after I got the March patch. So it seems they're starting to catch up at least.
Reteu April update
got it on my reteu.
Retbr May update.

Good afternoon,
Spain has also arrived.
But since I have TWRP and Root, it cannot be updated by OTA.

Question Downgrade build android Samsung S22 Ultra

Just a simple question. Is it possible? Downgrade build android Samsung S22 Ultra? I have been googling and so far almost no info about this. I have the mode; sm-s908u1 which I believe is unlocked, I can use any carrier.
Any info will be much appreciated.
Extra: I just want to downgrade to continue enjoying the call recording.
You are limited by the bootloader version to how far you can roll back.
You can go to the same or higher significant number but not lower.
And will most likely need to do a factory reset I tried it and was able to downgrade but had to factory reset.

Not on a stock Samsung. The bootloader has to be unlocked as it's version is what dictates what roms can be loaded.
You can load the same or higher rev version as the bootloader but not lower.
In my case "2" is that critical value. I can flash Android 9 or higher. If a OTA upgrade flashes the bootloader to a higher version you're stuck with it. One reason I disable OTA upgrades/updates.

Exactly. It seems sort of convoluted at first.
This is another useful article on Android partition structure in general.
One rule that serves me well is this...
Rule #1 - if the firmware is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission, let it be!
Anything Android version in general that is 9 or higher is reasonably secure unless you do stupid things. Even if one is running the latest firmware and software upgrades/updates... there's no saving dumb bunnies
Upgrades/updates can and do break Samsung's.
If a OTA firmware upgrade updates the bootloader version you are stuck with it. Look before you leap...

Question LE2115_11_F16 (Android 13) is here

Hi everyone,
Still new to OnePlus and its update/upgrade cycle, so sorry if you already know this, but my 9 just got updated to 2115_11_F16 and Android 13, with the October 2022 security update.
That's it, that's the tweet...
EDIT: it's still the October security update. Build is date November 3rd, hence the mistake.
Nice find, move to custom ROMs
I think I'll wait a little before I do that! I'm happy with OOS as it is, especially when compared to One UI or even MIUI. But I'll keep your advice in mind for future consideration! ;-)
Update is out now.
.....let´s see how it works......
OOS 13 is good, used it since beta 1, hopefully this stable release is as good as beta.
How is OOS 13 compared to OOS12?
OOS12 seemed worse than OOS11

OOS 13 seems really good, despite it feeling not-that-stock. Still a lot better than the buggy OOS 12 (which i hated so much that i moved to ColorOS 12 for). Still testing battery life but it seems to not differ much from previous versions. I might move to custom ROMs soon though.
I have not tried OB and went from OOS 12. I have noticed the active drain is a tiny bit less and the phone does not heat up as much while gaming. So very happy with OOS 13 at this moment.

lol i found this on the "Shelf" in OxygenOS 13 and that's literally an Oppo A94
Local Upgrade for the ROM disappeared in OOS 12. Is that still gone? I have not upgraded yet, but I did find that OnePlus has this local upgrade APK. https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/OPLocalUpdate_For_Android13.apk
Local Install is there
(it was there on ColorOS 12 too)

On OxygenOS 12 local upgrade is missing. ColorOS 12 may be different, but I didn't install it.

Hi! I'm desperately trying to help my best friend who's in need. I just wanna ask, if you're claiming that you own the LE2115 model(which I discovered to be for NA/Canada), could you please confirm if your phone does in fact charge when placed on a wireless charging pad? His doesn't and it's suspicious to the point where inside his phone, the model number is LE2115, but on the box it is LE2110(Which is a Chinese variant).
Thanks in advance, i'm waiting for your reply.
