I'm here to describe a problem with my Samsung J5.
I've rooted my phone 2 months ago and I have an app called link 2SD in my device.
Today I upgraded to link 2SD plus and I linked Instagram to external SD card which needs to reboot my phone.
After rebooting my phone, it doesn't recognise external SD card and internal SD card is empty.
I've done factory reset. But the problem hasn't been solved.
If I try to download anything from any browser or application It shows "The current storage card is unavailable".
If I try to capture any thing using Camera then it shows "Turn off USB storage before using camera", and there is a pop up showing "Unfortunately, smart manager has been stopped".
When I restart my phone, firstly it shows "Process system isn't responding".
But I can install any app from playstore and use it.
I tried to connect it to PC, But PC doesn't recognise my device..
Please help me with this problem..

just started having an issue when connecting to my work PC... it worked normally up until today.. .
plug it in as usual then select disk drive.. and it does nothing...
have also noticed after a soft reboot i get a message "failed to open US english" and all my shortcuts lose their pictures...
have also got a message saying the explorer had crashed...(on my phone)
And after that i cant get into resco or any apps installed on my sd card...
I have had a search on the forum but cant see anyone with the same issue so apologies if it there is a post already....

mm just rebooted my pc.. ok now... mmmmm weird
i had exactly the same problem yesterday. connected as disk drive, then explorer.exe crashes, and cant run resco, coreplayer and some other apps on sd... how exactly did yiu solve this?
just rebooted my PC... shall keep an eye out for it again though...
rebooting pc solved problem on your phone? rebooted with phone connected? rebooted phone too? i tried turning phone off & on again, didnt work. not currently connected to pc...
ok, ive found the problem: the opera cache was saved on storage card.
when connecting as diskdrive, the sd is not available on phone, so when i started opera it creates a folder "storage card" on main memory to put cache files.
when disconnected from pc sd comes available again. and is then named "storage card 2"
solution: delete the faulty "storage card" folder, then restart phone
i've got this weird problem after following some cache partition to use as RAM through swapper2.i enabled some of features like same mound and some others' now after sometime i am not able to MOUNT SD CARD THROUGH PHONE...
my sd card is working fine i checked it using card reader i formatted SD card and phone both flashed ROM tried all of settings as per my knowledge un-installed the app (swapper2) and also did perform factory reset.i've also tried mounting sd card from recovery though no response.
my data cable is properly working and also the USB port of my PC
though my pc isn't mounting my sd card... i am using same OS as before and didn't change anything.
PLEASE help me with this and provide solution ASAP if in your knowledge i will be help ful
NOTE: when i connect phone with PC in USB connection icon it shows (...) in connected device.
CAUTION: i've tried all simple solutions and PC troubleshooting so please don't mess thread with those solutions.

hi developers, i have a htc one dual sim 802w (m7_cdug) running lollipop. my mom had the same phone as mine so i took a lollipop backup, renamed it, and then restored it to my phone. the problem was that when it was done, i went to my sd card and copied an apk file to my internal storage but it fails saying ''something went wrong while copying google now launcher.apk''. it wasnt only that file that had the problem. i tried doing it by my laptop and i get the message after it fails that my device has been disconnected or is corrupt. well, my device is connected so the only option is that its corrupt. what do i do? pls help (asap). i cant even play my favorite game which is minecraft pe!
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. If the sd card fails on your device and pc, did you use a stand alone sc card reader on the pc?, then your sd card is corrupt. The only fix is to reformat the card. You'll of course lose everything on it during the format

So i was downloading a movie "dr. Strange" from torrent yesterday and as soon as i clicked the download button.. my phone hanged and then crashed. I rebooted it, and storage ( sd card) was gone. I removed it and reinserted it. Still the phone was not considering it. I put this memory card in my other phone and it showed "damaged sd card, try reformatting" so i did, nothing helped. I connected my phone with my pc with memory card still in my phone, and my PC didn't showed any storage. So i tried it with card reader and then the PC showed my sd card as normal 2 gb availability from 14 gb total. I backed up all data in other drive. Now it kept showing that the storage is damaged , so i tried repairing it with windows error checking. It showed error with the file dr. Strange.mkv but couldn't repair it. I tried formatting the storage but it said "failed" .i did some research on Google and then tried chksdk /f with correct drive letter. It showed error with this file but couldn't repair it. I tried "disk part" as well. After which I selected the disk (sd card), cleaned it with "clean" and tried formatting. Still it showed 12 gb used fron 14 as always. I tried some third party data recovery softwares as well, nothing worked. Some of those softwares deletes the file at the time of booting and we have to select it first, but the thing is; they don't let us select the file from removable storage. What i am trying to say is, that i tried every possible way which should work from internet. Nothing worked. This is why i am posting this issue here, hoping someone might be able to help. Please it will be huuugggeee help for me. Thank you.

For chkdsk, what i got as error was
"The \path\filename.mkv entry contains a nonvalid link
The size of the path\file.mkv entry is not valid
45% completed.."
That's all i got, it never increased from 45%
And here i tried uploading a screenshot but it showed network error. I can give more details if you can help me out please

Greetings and welcome to assist. Unfortunately sometimes sd cards can just suddenly die, it has happened to me quite a few times and if it has died then all you can do is use a data recovery program

Due to short storage i Formatted my 64 Gb Stornium Card as Intrenal Storage few days ago. Fast Forward till today, My phone suddenly crashed today. it Restarts.. As it starts back, a notification displays saying "SD CARD MISSING - Reinsert this device" .. i removed the SD Card & reinsert it, but It taking quite long time to restart & after restarting it Says "Process System is Not Responding, Do you want to Close It" & not showing any Storage Capacity nor Internal neither External..
My Concerned issues is..
Full Recovery of Data from Encrypted SD Card(Adopted SD Card).. (Thru TWRP or Linux, etc..)
NOTE : MY PHONE IS NOT ROOTED, SO CANT GET ENCRYPTION KEY FROM PHONE..
Is there any way to Root my phone without formatting it ..
