use the power of google to search for one
if there is none available and there isnt an xda device specific thread for your device you will have to do it the hard way and build it for yourself from source - If you have no knowledge of creating a device tree and using git hub im sorry but unless you have weeks or months to look things up and study it in detail I would get a different device that is supported if thats what you want to do

Hi,
I recently bought a few Lenovo A830s for my family and my company, and I'm interested in porting CyanogenMod 10.1 to them (and their smaller sister the A820)
I understand that we have access to some of the source code for the Mediatek kernel (github - varunchitre15/MT6589_kernel_source)
and that one of the other major sticking points is no support for dual SIMs in CM.
I was just wondering whether anyone was interested in helping me with this, and whether they had any more insights to give before I started looking into it.
If this project is successful, I think it should also be much more straightforward to port CM to other MTK 6589 devices.
Best wishes,
Tom

I started looking into this, but I found it quite tricky.
In the meantime someone ported MIUI V5 to this device, so I have been using that instead.

No. I meant link for CM provided. I can see it's ported and not compiled from sources and it has A820 kernel from original Android 4.1 from A820.
I came across a post in some website which claims that we can port any MTK ROMs from one device to another MTK device just by replacing some files on the ROM that we want to port with that of the ones in our stock rom. Is it possible?

It's almost right.
You need same MTK board (mt6577 is not mt6589) and both devices has same screen resolution it helps.
read about port rom

I has been ported before for our device here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2458414
the only problem in the rom was ram management.
So it many not be a waste of time.

buddy it was ported from same chipset ie mtk6577
Cross platform porting usually never works since a mt6589 chip set has different clocks implying different shared libraries even if you were to make it boot, you'd have hell a lot of bugs.. And the main thing is resolution you'd have to resize the .png files in the framework..

Things i have knowledge on :
1) i searched and got MIUI rom which is designed for SD410 ( refering to REDMI 2 Prime - SD410 variant)

2) i also searched for Porting MIUI8 to Qualcom devices.. ( worth mentioning that i once ported unsuccessful MIUI rom to MTK device)
i flashed MIUI 8 in my frnd's HonorHolly - it looked amazing , i desperately wished to make it work on my MotoG3 (2-16gb xt1550)
please share your valuable knowledge of making an BOOTABLE and Stable MIUI 8 rom for our MotoG3
my doubts are as follows:
1) No onScreen Nav keys on any MIUI - how can we insert them ?? even though if we insert do they look awkward? or they'll be same as ours?
2) is it easy or Tuff job to make this MIUI8 ?? how much work do we need to do ??
3) is there any stepby step process for noobs like me to make this work done ??
thank you all your suggestions.. i feel much delighted if you people help me :highfive:
Download sources and start building. It will be hard i guess. U can trt flymeos rom which is kinda based on miui .on screen keys can be added using build.prop. the keys will be depending on which android version u hve

i am following this @banerjeeayan1996
http://www.osbusters.net/2015/11/how-to-port-miui-7-rom-to-qualcomm-smartphones.html
is this enough ?? to make MIUI 8 ?
--------
i have overcome this point :
The Port ROM and the Base ROM should have the same android version
now does this mean !! we should wait for 6.0.1 or 5.1.1 ??
i dont know which version is on that MIUI8 huh..
@banerjeeayan1996
thanks for sharing, i searched for ROMS which are currently on 5.1.1 or 6.0.1 , i could get 5.1.1 MIUI8
i asked the dev which rom should i use for MotoG3, will proceed upon his reply
atlast i am going start Porting , TY bro

You cannot build miui from source because source of miui is not open. While Miui use patchrom technology which is very similar to patching UI part over existing stock/CM framework. It is available upto kitkat but lollipop version is not available yet so we have to port miui from similar devices.Currently the most suitable candidate is Lenovo A6000+ or Redmi 2s Prime but i doubt the build will have ril or wifi working or even boot. it tried it many times no success yet and no senior developer is interested or have capability (due to closed source and unusal structure of miui) in developing any other Flavor Rom other than Cyanogenmod or stock based like flyme,MIUI,Lewa,Funtouch etc so we are helpless only some miracle will make MIUI Boot to our Device.
I've been searching for a long time for custom ROMS and root for the Lenovo Vibe B but haven't found any so far.
Couldn't find any thread or forum here on xda that is dedicated to this device as well, neither could I add it to "My Devices" cause the site doesn't recognize it as a device.
Anyone know why this device seems so forgotten all across the internet? Anyone knows any useful links where I could find custom ROMs, root and recovery and other useful stuff for it? My device is too slow and i've been searching for solutions that could improve (even a little bit) it's performance and/or battery autonomy.
Thanks in advance

It isn't supported because there are no developers that own it or because there is no stock source available.

Hi, i wish this device had an official Custom Rom, but there is unofficial Roms like viper os, linage 14, resurrection remix.
There is an open source code for lenovo vibe b from support.lenovo.com
Could the Open source code be useful making the rom
i can share the link

If there is a lineageOS ROM for this device, it was probably already built using the stock source that you mentioned.
