Porting CyanogenMod 10.1 to Lenovo A820 / A830 (MTK 6589)

Hi,
I recently bought a few Lenovo A830s for my family and my company, and I'm interested in porting CyanogenMod 10.1 to them (and their smaller sister the A820)
I understand that we have access to some of the source code for the Mediatek kernel (github - varunchitre15/MT6589_kernel_source)
and that one of the other major sticking points is no support for dual SIMs in CM.
I was just wondering whether anyone was interested in helping me with this, and whether they had any more insights to give before I started looking into it.
If this project is successful, I think it should also be much more straightforward to port CM to other MTK 6589 devices.

Hello I have buyed a a830 these days, and I have look through the git-hub sources , but I havn't find a deconfig file for a830.
Are you sure it's the kernel of a830. Could you tell me which is it's deconfig file???

MIUI
I started looking into this, but I found it quite tricky.
In the meantime someone ported MIUI V5 to this device, so I have been using that instead.

I see a link for testing on muiu forum but for a830.. as the specs are the same it should work on 820 also, right?

Ok, so this is CM from xda with mediatek kernel (ported - not compiled from source), btw - it's still kernel from 4.1. I'm going to buy nexus and say f**k you to that chinese apes. All of this is really unbelievable. There is nothing we can do.

No. I meant link for CM provided. I can see it's ported and not compiled from sources and it has A820 kernel from original Android 4.1 from A820.

Surfing the web I stumbled upon this post saying that oppo f1 will receive Project Spectrum in future. You can check this official forum link...

Those who dont know what Project Spectrum is:
"Project Spectrum," the ROM is a departure from Oppo's own ColorOS, featuring nearly stock Android with a few useful ColorOS features thrown in. Here's what Oppo says it opted to include, along with a few caveats for the initial version of the ROM:
Screen-off Gestures: Currently there are two supported screen-off gesture, double tap to wake up the phone and draw a circle to open the camera app.
ColorOS Camera: Currently the ColorOS camera is supporting the following plugins: Beautify, Filters, HDR, GIF, Double exposure and Expert Mode, for others we will continue working and try add them in the near future.
MaxxAudio: The MaxxAudio is supported and turned on by default.
Other than those three items, the ROM is mostly stock Android as you'd expect it to be.

that will be good because there is a few memory management issues with the ColorOS causing such things as drops in app notifications.

Oppo strongly advises against it, so I wouldn't.

The other catch is they are completely different devices.

I just flash this spectrum ROM 6.0 and even in beta I find it good except for battery life compared to stock ROM ... Hope it could be optimised in the release version

Spectrum Bug?
Guys. after I flash spectrum v1.0i Beta. I couldn't install any of recoveries. CWM,TWRP and even the stock Oppof1.
Now all I want is to back my phone to normal. I hope anybody here helps me. Please kinda reply if you have any ideas or things to help me, I would deeply appreciate it.

Switch back to ColorOS with the package and procedure provided by OPPO. Then try the original procedure you used.

Welcome.
Very short about me: Most of you know me as ieatgravity, I ported TWRP Recovery a little less than a year ago and was able to achieve root on the Life One X2. Since then I have developed guides, auto rooting tools, roms, and I maintain BLOX2.com a dedicated site for all Life One X2 and Mini Development. I apologize for the long absence. However it seems as if this community has really bloomed from where I left off. I want to thank EVERYONE who has supported this development for our phone over the last year, whether it be financially, simple encouragement, thanks, prayers, or you even helping develop something new. I tried my best to credit everyone involved, though many have come and gone we hope YOU will take an interest and try your hand at developing!
As of now we have all been using the first thread we had for our device as a catch all for development, apps, support, general q&a's. Though it has worked for us up until now, a few of us have decided that we should have a dedicated thread to development ideas, topics and questions to keep everything organized.
For now this thread will support both the X2 & Mini. So when you post, please specify the device.

Personally I haven't tried. As I'm still running on marshmallow, but from what I gathered from the wiko thread i started months ago the auto root tools were not successful. So for the time being there is no root for 7.1.1

I confirm we can't flash anything in fastboot mode on ufeel prime 7.1.1.
We are looking for since September. Impossible to root.

Has anyone attempted using Kingroot.apk (NOT KINGOROOT) to root then use a root flasher like flashify, rashr, official twrp app, to flash the custom recovery. From there root using magisk manager patch the boot.img, reboot into twrp then flash the patched_boot.img to boot partition. While still in TWRP, navigate to the kingroot.apk location within /system/app. Delete the kingroot.apk and reboot. At this point you should have a working systemless root without the sketchiness of using kingroot.
If anyone has the time to test this out let me know the results please.

Hi guys. I tried another thing in my Ufeel. One week now I have it with Red Wolf custom recovery and Viper_garlic rom 7.1.2 both for Yureka Black running. Everything works fine only with the recovery not. It's working but not 100%? I'm not a developer and I don't have the knowledge and tools for see what can do to better working. I thing sharing this with you guys it's important. And maybe someone with the knowledge (and time) want to see it. I try to get logs from the problems.

New OTA update in France this morning. Version V39, always android 7.1.1. No bugs anymore with delay for unlock phone at reboot. Now fastboot devices is detected but always impossible to unlock. All commands says "unknown command"

Hello everybody, I just got the BLOX2 Mini and wanted to start working with it. I can see this thread hasn't been updated and that the blox2.com web is down. Can anyone direct me to the best resource available in order to unlock, install TWRP, root, etc. in the Mini, either in XDA or elsewhere? I noticed there's a long thread on the regular sized BLOX2 but I am not completely sure if what is available there will work in the mini.

Blackbelt nougat custom kernel image for lenovo k6 branch devices [testing purpose]

Guys this is my first kernel compilation for lenovo K6 power/note devices. I dont know whether it will work perfectly of not cuz my k6 note is now at service center due to battery issue. so if any one try it and give feedback, I'll be very thankful.

You'd find quicker help by joining the telegram group for k6, Id love to see an alternative kernel for our device, if I had a Linux distro I'd probably try myself, since I hate the colours of the stock and cm kernels

How to fix Lineage Os 15.1 bugs ? Help please...

I'm new in this forum.I want some help from developers. I'm using Xiaomi Redmi 5(rosy) which has Snapdragan 450 chipset. It comes with Android version 7.1.2 (Nougat). I want to upgrade to Android 8(Oreo) so I downloaded an Unofficial Build of Lineage OS 15.1 for my device. But after flashing I found camera,fingerprint sensor and all other sensors are not working . After booting it shows "A vendor image mismatch has been detected. Typically this means your vendor image is out of date. " . I don't know why it's showing this message.
I want to fix those bugs.How can I do that ?
Please help me.

Purely as a personal opinion, I would really doubt that someone would be able to support a development that they didn't develop on top of your having an Unofficial release of the LineageOS 15.1 (rosy) when there's nothing on the forum regarding this release. Also, i had tried to perform a quick search to locate this using a few methods and was unable to locate anything to even refer you to.
I'm not stating that "Nobody" will help you out but, as a developer myself, I just feel that you would have a hard time to obtain assistance.
This is why I can only refer you to the link above that's specific to your device.
