So I'm on pixel XL stock no root. I've got a theme applied and some of the apps are themed like play store for example. Everything has been good for a few days until now. Play store will constantly crash when I try to open it and I believe that because of that, it is cause issues with other apps not working right.
Andromeda and substratum are not connected and I do not have the ability to connect them right now as I am at work and cannot load adb drivers due to not having admin rights.
Substratum closes when trying to open too, I would assume because of no connection with Andromeda.
Is there a way to undo the theme in my current state?

Sorry for the late reply. There is no way to undo it without connecting Andromeda via ADB or with Root. But one thing you can try if you are able to is boot into recovery and run the Substratum recovery zip. It will remove all your overlays completely. Its in /storage/emulated/0/substratum/substratumrescue.zip on my Pixel XL

No worries, I fixed it once I had adb access. And sadly I'm 100% stock these days, even recovery. decided to no longer to root my new devices since the pixel XL.

You can't flash that in recovery without root? It's in recovery shouldn't matter if you have root or not.

My phone is now crashing Play Store every time I try to open it. Am I correct that this is a Substratum thing? Tried all the regular troubleshooting search results with no success.

yep i have andromeda and substratum and tried a theme on my S8+ G955U and my whole screen is just black?? i only see a way to fix it with TWRP,well, we dont have TWRP for the Snapdragons so, another factory reset which is really lame. hopefully the devs make something to fix it. otherwise it shouldnt be posted on Playstore as unrooted devices. It should say (ROOT). this is terrible.

Most likey it was a theme issue. Make sure to read the directions and make sure that theme is compatible with your Android os.

Do you mean the same theme? Did the theme get an update from the play store? Sorry just trying to help so we can see why that black screen happened. Also turn on usb debugging in dev options in the future. You can disable themes with a computer if you enabled usb debugging before hand.

It Can be Fixed Without Andromeda and Substratum
Sorry for the really really late reply...
Well I was in a same kind of situation recently, But I found the fix by uninstalling everything which contains the theme name you can disable the theme from every apps.
Eg: If you're using swift black theme uninstall everything which named as swift black and it can be fixed... Glad this Helps and I am tired of searching for fixes and it works for me check this link for screenshots from my device these screenshots will explain better than me...

Just today I installed Fontfix, (even though the app, states it does not work on S7).
I had a hard time installing it at first, then i discovered two major steps. 1) you have to have "install from unknown sources" checked, which, is weird since its coming from the play store. and 2) you have to go into the app settings and find where it says install method and change it to root.
That's all I did, and now have "Gloria Hallelujah" throughout my whole system. If you have any questions or problems don't hesitate to ask. I get on just about every day or so, hoping to see any kind of mods or development for this S7, which, is scarce.

Hi guys,
same as the title. There's something so strange and to be discovered.
Here is the case:
flashing injustice csc should make this theme full version.
But if you install this stock apk without flashing the csc together, it will be trial.
Can anyone tell me why?
move from data might not work especially those who didn't root their phone. Freeze app is troublesome each time u restart ur phone u have to unfreeze to apply and freeze it again. Suggest solution or how flashing csc help everyone if anyone know.
Enjoy!

i have a suggestion about applying themes in non-root devices
there is no need to unfreeze-apply-freeze again the app
if you are using the package disabler pro app just clear data from themes every time you switch on or reboot the device and you will be ok
for me it works

Mine won't work for clear data only, might as well just disable it as it run on background and if you forgot to clear data after reboot you have to apply it again, looking for a permanent solution.
edit: I don't mind root solution but now seem nothing work, I like new discovery and see what can we do about it

I can't uninstall this theme. And it remains a lot of theme files in my phone.
This method used to work very well. I last applied this theme like 5-6 months back. Tried it today but it goes back to a preset theme after like every 5 minutes. Should I update the PD plugin in Playstore? The reviews are pretty bad. Any alternative to PD Pro or any new version?

Swift black. It works great and is updated often. It does cost money though. To apply it works just like rooted phones but we have to connect with a computer first via Andromeda.

Can't guarantee it, plus I don't support piracy. I'd go with the play store. There are free Oreo themes. Just have to search them out on the play store. Read theme descriptions.

Hey, I was wondering if there is a way to disable/uninstall system apps without root. In this specific case, I would like to remove YouTube and Google Duo, however, I tried to disable + force stop the apps but they reappear after a while. Next I tried to disable them via ADB but even then they reappeared like nothing happened.
I'm currently using a OnePlus 7 Pro on the latest OOS, I rather not root the phone just yet. As I don't want to void my UK warranty.
Any suggestions would be welcome

Yes it's smooth but interms of features and accessibility it's a backward step.
1) Removal of screenshot button in power menu
2) Removal of most used apps in recent screen

Screenshot is more accessible than pressing a button, I don't use any buttons, just swipe up and screenshot is down below, except for powering off, used gestures all than time S2S and so on with clean slate kernel, 2 and 3 don't mind and don't use it at all. That's my opinion, plus on this ROM sometimes it freezes...so far on 11 nothing so far. But it all depends on who uses it...at least developers giving us an option, just stating the fact coz I used both Pixel dust caf and aosp... there's a hiccup freezes sometimes. Anyway, enough with this, this is Pixel Dust topic anyway
