LG G5 H830 Network lock ??? - T-Mobile LG G5 Questions & Answers

LG G5 H830 Network lock
This device can be remotely unlock if eligible.
Please use the "device Unlock application to unlock the device.
Make sure the device has an internet connectivity to use the "Device Unlock" application
I purchased LG G5 H830T 32GB T-Mobile + GSM Unlocked Phone from ebay. (NEW)
June 15, 2017, purchases were duly used as SKTelcom service providers in Korea.
Through the LG Bridge Program, I received and used the normal upgrades.
I used well untill software update.
One weeks ago, After updating the performance enhancement version of
August 7th using the LG Bridge Program,
On the first screen a network lock occurred.
The software update of the LG Bridge program has been updated to the USB cable.
After the update, the smartphone has been rebooted and has been unable to contact the phone ever since.
Device Unlock appears along with the Network Lock Guide
Launch the Device Unlock app ,Device Unlock Apps have been Permanent
Unlock and then Unlock Failed.
The rest of the phone is available through Wi-Fi.
The setup indicates that the Mobile Data (Network) portion has been blocked from the setup.
I'm afraid I've lost my mind.
Visit the SKTelecomcustomer center to reset the USIM.
Same thing with USIM initialization.
There is no screen that enters the unlock code.
I contacted the LG Electronics Overseas Parts of Korea.
It is expected that it will be country lock by T-Mobile Server.
I searched around for the same thing around me, but there was no such thing as this.
T-Mobile T-MobileSupport
" I want you to know that we can't unlock the device since we don't have
any records of it on our data base. The device must be associated with
T-Mobile number and it must have a usage with T-Mobile network."
First of all, what I've done is
1. Factory reset (3 kinds reset, pad initialization.....)
2. ROM downgrade (an upgrade-forward version)
Android : 7.0
software version : H83020K
I pray you to help me.

Same issue here. Lg g5 t-mobile.. July security patch. Not yet updated to august security patch. Bought here in the philippines through local online shop. Used it for about 3 weeks then after that got this pop up message same like yours. Try the built in unlock app of t-mobile but say ineligible for unlock. All working on this phone except for the network signal and data..wifi no problem..did you find any fix?

You bought the phone from ebay, meaning it had probably been modified to carrier unlock it via a hack ROM, specially 20i_un
This thread will tell you more. Lots of people did the same thing.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g5/help/to-recently-bought-unlocked-buyspry-t3641459
You upgrade to 20k via LG Bridge, thus wiping out the hack that carrier unlocked the phone via the ROM.
There is no going back. The unlock app will never work for you as the phone isn't on the T Mobile network. T Mobile won't help you because you're not a T Mobile customer. And to my knowledge there is no way to reinstall the 20i_un hacked ROM.
You got screwed. Tell eBay you want your money back and file a formal complaint against the seller who failed to disclose all of this information.

I have the exact same issue just this morning. A pop message suddenly appear when i open the device and after rebooting a pop up message also appears saying that This device can be remotely unlock if eligible.

I'm currently running Fulmics 4.5 now, is going back to stock rom will fix the issue?

You can't go back to stock ROM unless someone can dump the hacked firmware that it originally shipped with. I don't believe anyone has done this yet.

Unfortunately no. I just revert to stock just to use the app although it doesnt help also coz it says my device is not eligible. If only theres a way to show the sim lock code menu so that I can purchase unlock code in ebay.

lg h830 tmobile
if you on castom firmware, the phone asks for the code! has anyone tried unlocking? where did you get the code?

After the update 8.0 Using the LGBridge my phone is on network lock status also

I also update to Oreo by LG Bridge and the cell phone is lock, is it because it was made by Bride? Or the automatic update of the cell phone would have been different? I was unlocked legally and now I can not unlock it

There is a service at eBay that unlocks your phone..i use it for my h830 you only need to root your device to have a working pc, a cable for pc connection and teamviwer it's 30 minutes of your time and some money p.s is the cheaper reliable service after a lot of search I found on web
Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk

Read this Twitter chat support DM history completely to see what it took to get T-Mobile to unlock my phone. Mine had the exact same problem yours does. Initially software unlocked, then after updating with LG Bridge it was network locked.
What really worked was pitting LG and T-Mobile against each other in public tweets, then getting T-Mobile to call LG support directly, for T-Mobile to realize they were the ones who had to unlock it. Then constant prodding until it was unlocked. All the while being perfectly polite.
Good luck to you and all that follow.

domestic unlocked...... is it also international unlocked
So i just bought a H630 LG G5 tmobile from ebay. popped in a freedompop AT&T sim and that worked fine showing 4g and connected to internet. So i guess my phone is domestic sim unlocked then... does this mean that it's also international sim unlocked or would i need to request tmobile to also unlock international? thanks

It works but you have to know what you're doing with it. Did you contact Tmobile for unlock code. We unlock and blacklist repair the Sprint, Tmobile, etc. The Tmobile ones have to go through that app during the process

yea man i called...they sent an email with instructions.. email stated this phone doesn't require an unlock code as it has a built in unlock app. follow the directions below blah blah balh
bottom line, it doesn't work. why? because there's hidden rules and crap that need to be met 1st by t-mobile. prepaid people need to spend at least 100 dollars in refills before the phone is eligible. post paid people need to have the phone active on t-mobile for a minimum of 45 days and your account cannot be cancelled during that time.
well seeing as how i'm on prepaid... i walked in, made a new customer purchase as a post paid user, then cancelled my line after i got my gear vr and netflix code... which wasn't even 30 days. I can't unlock my phone, So I'm now on prepaid gonna see if I can after 100 dollars in refills

I use ebay to get my unlock codes, unlocked maybe a dozen phones in the last few years and never had any issues with anyone.
A couple reliable sites I've used many times are www.unlockbase.com and www.cellunlocker.net . There's also a thread over on the s6 general forum of a member named stifilz that can unlock your device via USB cable, his service is free but a donation is always a nice gesture. Good luck!

kinda ridiculous you have to pay to get an unlock code still. My SM-G930FD i bought unlocked locks itself every time in install a T-mobile csc and the app wont even run on that phone
Hi can anyone help? I bought an At&t S7 Edge on amazon and got the unlock code from the vendor and it apparently worked. My only issue is that it'll only work with the sim that was in the phone when I entered the code. If I use another one the phone keeps displaying "insert sim". Thanks already for your replies
Thanks for the reply and there's 1 more things I need to mention: I'm using the phone overseas (Haiti) as it's still under At&t contract. Now to answer your questions no it doesn't ask for the unlock code anymore but like I said it only works with the non At&t
sim I used when entering the unlock code.

s7 (sm-930f) lock to Austrian A1 was not able to be unlocked by unlockbase.com. However, the nck from cellunlocker.net worked well.
Ok so what im mentioning is something im still not getting quite well, but i saw before many samsung phones S6, S7, Note... etc that have the international firmware 9XXF/FD even when the phone is actually a T-Mobile version or AT&T, in download mode you will be shown the real phone model but the firmware isn't. Of course through Odin with a PC you won't be able to flash the phone with a firmware besides the one designed for it. If you actually wanna flash the phone you'll need the original firmware, i tried it before and flashed a Verizon S6 that had the international 6.0 firmware on it through Odin and as you might guess i got an error as the device didn't match the firmware, when i actually flashed it with the correct Verizon 7.0 firmware it worked and the phone booted and worked alright, except that now the phone is network locked! downgrade isn't possible unless i use a repair firmware and a pit file (not sure if still works with nougat). Then i got the idea of actually using the repair firmware and the pit of the 9XXF version as its network free, and ended up breaking the phone completely. The jig didn't work so couldn't access odin. So i work for a friend of mine in a repair workshop PC, Consoles, Mobiles... blablabla and we have the Z3x box, it did unbrick the phone, and then i started playing with it to see what it can do, and there is an option to actually flash and mix different parts of the firmware, so i went an flashed the bootloader of the Verizon firmware with the rest from the international firmware, it didn't boot at first but somehow i got it into recovery mode and after a format it did boot, and the network was actually unlocked after.
I do not think this method would work on all versions, as some samsung phones uses the snapdragon soc while others uses the exynos soc, and i don't think you can mix those firmwares, but an unlocked exynos model might be unlockable with the international firmware, of course considering the risk of breaking the phone, but if you're lucky as i was and have one of those boxes you shouldn't be much afraid.
Something else i'd like to mention, is that the Z3x can actually fully backup the phone, and i don't mean a nandroid backup like TWRP but like a full partitions backup, and the idea i got but didn't test is if you have for example a locked S7 and an unlocked one and same model so let's say 930P, you can actually copy the raw partitions from the unlocked one to the locked one and i don't know, maybe ending up unlocking it too, again didn't test this one as i only have one S7 and its already unlocked (930FD).

Unlock Request/ UNSUPPORTED DEVICE :(

Just got this back from ATT. I can go to one of the pay sites (any suggestions?).....but I am rather dismayed by the "....no longer supported...." verbiage.
Thank you for contacting AT&T about unlocking your mobile device.
Unfortunately, your unlock request was denied because:
Your device is no longer supported, and we can no longer obtain the unlock code from the manufacturer.
Questions? Please call 800.331.0500, or dial 611 from your AT&T wireless phone.
Yeah I suspect that means no update either..I am done buying devices from carriers.

Hey,
If you still want to opt for a paid service, try www.unlockunit.com. I've unlocked 2 Samsungs and an LG with them. You get the code in 1-2 hours, depending on the network. AT&T should work even faster, though, like 30 minutes.

Thanks, contemplating a trip to Europe, would be nice to be able to pop a pre-paid SIM in. Being rooted and running Fulmics should not present a problem, correct?
I think you have to return to the stock firmware in order for the unlock code to work. A year ago i purchased a code from a website for a samsung with cyanogenmod on it, and I had to flash the stock firmware to be able to use the code.

To those that recently bought the unlocked BuySpry eBay H83020i_un G5's

Have any of you been able to successfully flash a new rom onto your phones without losing your carrier unlock?
I've been reading around, and so far, it seems like a few people somehow lost their carrier unlocks after downgrading.
I'd like to flash the Fulmics rom, but I don't want to lose my carrier unlock in the process.
If anyone has any input or suggestions for downgrade/root tutorials, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
It's easy to flash a stock ROM and turn it back into a fully stock phone where everything works right.
This thread will bring you up to a stock 20I
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...ock-h830-20i-rom-flashable-zips-imgs-t3609735
If you want to root it / install TWRP, etc etc...you want 20a. So use this thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...ock-h830-20a-rom-flashable-zips-imgs-t3511294
You will lose the SIM unlock because the SIM unlock was achieved using that bogus 20i_un ROM (old school way to do that and not preferred because it's temporary)
Everything works fine once you do that. But I don't know if it can be 're-unlocked'. I'm on T Mobile so I don't care. The t mobile unlock app MIGHT still work after 40 days like it's supposed to, but I haven't had it for 40 days so I don't know.
In the same context, can anyone comment on phones being bought from BuySpry on eBay? Have they all been brand new, unmodified ones or will we face any problem down the line like locked bootloaders, sim locks and that sort of thing. I just bought one and its on its way
Just to put it out there I brought this device on JET.com and I have the same April security H83020i_un. The order was fulfilled by Wireless Boss meaning that's who shipped it so watch out for them as well.

I think they are all like that. I purchased one for my neighbor and one for myself(to use as second device). I flashed it with 20i version and it is the same, but sim unlock went away and phone is locked. I am with T-Mobile and didn't mind it at all.

I think you can still get warranty you just need to flash the stock rom. You can use the imei number to check the production date. Lg gives 15 months warranty from the production date. If you leave it like it is out of the box, no. It will definitely not. It has a custom ROM on there so no OTA update will work.
If you flash an official ROM using the LG UP tool (which is INSANELY EASY) then it will get the updates on the T Mobile network. I suspect it will get updates if you're on the Metro PCS network too as it's really just looking for a web connection, not service network. But I can't 100% confirm that as I haven't tried it.
I personally flashed my BuySpry phone to official ROM 20a and immediately got the notifications to update the phone via OTA to official T Mobile releases.
So once you flash the official ROM it's like you've undone whatever BuySpry did to the phone and it's essentially brand new again.

When I try to use their mobile repair service, they want to see the receipt.
Did it work out for you with a receipt form eBay or did you found a way to circumvent it?
I'm not sure they're going to give me service on it, but I just noticed yesterday that my camera rear glass is broken.
I don't know how since I didn't drop the phone or anything.
Regardless, knowing the warranty works is important for me
OK i spoke to LG and they said warranty is available if 1) Its 15 months from date of manufacture for which they check IMEI 2) 1 year from date of purchase for which they need proof with receipt. So when I gave my IMEI they said it is under warranty. Hopefully I wont need it. But if it comes to that, I will attach their repair slips that came in the box and give eBay receipts. Have also mailed the seller to ask for proof of purchase lets see.

Use the live chat. You just have to give the csr the imei. They did not ask me for the receipt. If they ask Just say you lost the receipt then they will go off the imei to check the production date. I tried doing it on the website but it wouldnt let me continue without uploading a receipt. I did the live chat and the csr was able to generate an rma and email me a return label

When dealing with LG for warranty work never mention it's an ebay purchase. Without a receipt the LG warranty period is 15 months from the date of manufacture. Also ensure the OEM ROM is loaded.
I just purchased one. I'll get it on August 6th
I'm from El Salvador, so you are telling me that if I try to downgrade my phone to root it, I'll be T-mobile only?
and if I do root it, can it be unlocked again with one of those unlocking boxes?
Uppercut has Trojan:Win32/Dynamer!ac in it. Listed as severe.
I ordered this phone and downgraded to 20a, so I could root it and flash a custom rom.
When doing the downgrade/rooting it locked the carrier lock to T-Mobile USA.
I wiped everything and reinstalled 20i, but it was still locked to T-Mobile USA.
Since I am in Canada this is a huge problem for me.
I ended up disputing it at paypal due to not selling a genuine unlocked device.
I will keep you updated, let me know if you figure out how to unlock the carrier lock.

Don't forget to dispute with your credit card company too. They likely have better protections than PayPal.
And don't forget to leave negative feedback for the dishonest seller on ebay

Unlocking Sprint Samsung Galaxy S8 plus

How do I unlock my uncle's Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus from Sprint Network, I would appreciate any help please.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
As far as I know, Sprint, being a CDMA network, even if you unlock the device, you will not be able to use it with other networks unless they accept it. So you can't insert a GSM sim freely and use it straight away.
However, as I saw someone else pointing, with the S8 and S8+ this might not be the case because they are built differently.
My advice to properly investigate this issue because paying any unlocking service.
I have a galaxy s8+ with sprint and bought the unlock code for it and now using on t-mobile for the last few weeks with no problem. I paid $25.00 for the unlock and they will send you instruction connecting to their remote PC to unlock. you have the put the phone in developer and turn on USB debugging. I did flashed the phone with USA unlock firmware to get rid of the sprint firmware.

Can you please give us a bit more info on how and where did you unlock your phone.
Did you call Sprint directly and they unlocked it or what was the procedure?

I paid $25 thru swiftunlocks .com and they send me the link to download an app . Connect phone and turn on USB debug. Chat with other guy online and they tell you what to do. Then they unlock thru computer connecting your phone. After few minutes they will let you know it's done. You try with a different sim card.
After that I flash with unlock firmware and used it in tmobile since then

And what about Sprit software, will that get removed after the process?
And regarding flashing unlock firmware you mentioned, is that required step, and why did you flash it?
I contacted one software company if I can call it like so, and they told me the price would be 50$ for unlocking S8+. They are removing the Sprint software form your phone, but I am wondering, why is the price twice higher than on swiftunlock, any thoughts?

Needing my s8 unlocked!!! Please help!
Please help.
I'm new here and can really use some help. I bought a galaxy s8 plus from a friend at work, who had gotten it from their nephew. I want to unlock it, but Sprint won't help me because I'm not the original account holder. I've really hit a brick wall and would appreciate any and all help I can get.

Question App says unlocked, phone stays locked

Had a hell of a time speaking with T-Mobile representatives these last couple of days. Everyone has a different opinion on what I need to do to unlock my S22 Ultra. Just today a guy recommended I download the T-Mobile Device Unlock app off the Play store and it said the following:
"Your device is currently permantently unlocked and allowed to be used with any carrier. Restart your device to apply these changes if your device was previously locked." Yet I do that and it remains locked.
Anyone else had this experience? Not sure what I can do short of returning it.

If you're talking about OEM Unlocking, that is completely separate from carrier lock, and there's little the carrier can do about it.
The device is networked locked to T-Mobile.

Are you the original owner?
Has the phone been paid off?
Are you currently running T-Mobile firmware?

No, I'm not. There was apparently someone before me. The phone is paid off and I do believe there isn't any custom firmware on it and I went through a series of updates since getting the phone.
If this indeed is a T-Mobile phone, you shouldn't need the T-Mobile unlock app. Just look around in Settings > Connections & look around for SIM unlock, network unlock or something along those lines (I'm running US unlocked firmware XAA, so, I don't have the unlock in my settings, otherwise, I'd be able to give you the exact terminology).
Anyway, once you've found it, you should be able to check for the SIM Unlock. If it says you're unlocked & you're still having issues, I'd call customer service.

I know that. I've been on the phone with them for over two hours already. I asked them to put in a request to unlock it given the previous owner's contract and filed a complaint with the FCC. The phone SHOULD be eligibile for unlocking but the carrier is just being stubborn.
The "T" in Mobile stands for "Trouble"
