Samsung Keyboard v 2.0.21.26 - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Since the last update of Samsung Keyboard, I am not being able to have a Emoji Key on keyboard while replying from Notifications. Whether it is Message, Whatsapp, etc. there is no Emoji Button on the keyboard. In order to add Emojis I have to go to the app itself.
Is anyone else having the same issue???

Still no luck! I guess no one is having the issue.

Using gboard... sorry

When you're trying to answer from the notifications, you'll not be able to use emojis. Emojis will be available just in apps and not in quick reply.

[Q] "Complete action using..." not working for Gmail

I was reading about the various shortcut keys to quickly open specific apps, from the keyboard. Search+E will open up email. When I hit these keys, it asks which app I want to use: Gmail or Email, and to use it Always or Just Once.
I select Gmail, hit Always, but this selection is not remembered. The next time I use the shortcut key, I get the same dialogue box and question.
I'm on Stock JB 4.1.1, not rooted, no ROM's. Default Keyboard is Asus, but I noticed the same problem using the Android Keyboard before they fixed the 'backspace' issue.
Not a big deal, but it would be nice if this worked. FWIW, choosing a default app seems to have worked for other apps in different contexts, so it doesn't seem to be a system-wide problem.
Any insight appreciated.
Thanks.

Having the same issue - GMail can't be selected as a default app for email. Tried App Picker - didn't help either. I'm on CM10 with BT keyboard, surprised no one is complaining about this in the pershoot thread.

[Q] Jellybean Message Smileys?

I just updated my HOS (Vodafone) from ICS to Jellybean, and now I no longer see the 'Smileys' option in the Message app menu (for selecting a smiley to insert into the message text). I'm using the Swype keyboard, as I was with ICS.
Anyone know how to get this 'Smileys' menu option back?
They moved the smiles to the default keyboard. Now it's accessible from all apps.

Unless one happens to be one of the thousands using a different keyboard, in which case it's not accessible anywhere...
Thanks for rapid response, anyway.
Keyboard workaround
I found a way to keep the Swype keyboard I like and still have access to the smileys list...
This is probably well known, but since no-one has mentioned it - if more than one keyboard is installed and enabled at the same time, a keyboard icon appears in the notification area that allows you to swap keyboards on-the-fly, and so get access to any features on any keyboard. Not ideal, but as good as it gets.

[Q] How do I remove the emoji key from Google Keyboard 2.0

How, for the love of god do I remove the emoji keyboard symbol from the 2.0 keyboard?
Look I am not an emoji hater, I just choose to not use them.
I don't understand how Google felt they were more important that the return key, which I did use.
Can anyone help me rid my keyboard of that emoji symbol?

Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You could just hit shift and then enter..

You have to download the old Google keyboard at :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2312179 ... Choose v1.1.1881.801980 . install it, if. It doesn't work like me, uninstall stock android keyboard(need root uninstaller) and you gonna get your old keyboard!!!!
I went to Google play store and pulled up the Emoji Keyboard app and uninstalled it!!! I was having the same problem.

Activate Emojis System Wide?

I was able to get iOS emojis flashed onto my N5, but im not too sure how I can activate it throughout my WHOLE phone, FB, Twitter, IG, etc. There aren't any options to use Emoji in Textra or Twitter.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Get a keyboard that supports them. Many do. At the moment I'm using Kii.

Okay, so I'm assuming you've downloaded the Emoji app already...
Just follow the instructions hope it will work out for you.
To enable the Emoji keyboard, go to Settings > General > International > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard > Emoji.
And to use it when you type, click on the little icon with the globe on it to switch keyboard, and then use.
Kindly go through this

The Google keyboard has emojis built in if you long-press the enter key. The AOSP keyboard does not!
Here's one of the places where you can find the google keyboard

Emoji (Unicode 9.0) - WhatsApp vs GBoard

Currently when using WhatsApp I don't have access to the new set of emojis that were released last year. When people send them to me in WhatsApp they're rendered as GBoard emojis plus extra noise like squares and women symbols.
If I use the GBoard emoji settings I can send them but they're rendered as the Google versions and not the WhatsApp ones, and even when sent as a single emoji WhatsApp doesn't enlarge it like it does the ones available from within the app when tapping the smiley face icon to the left of the text entry box.
WhatsApp have said that this is nothing to do with them, it's all down to the phone. Is this correct? The phone seems to have the ability to display them through GBoard but I'm wondering why not through WhatsApp as native apps. Is there a way to get the Unicode 9.0 characters into WhatsApp without rooting my phone?
Thanks.
whatsapp just rolled out a beta update through the play store , including new emojis and updating (some? i don't think they reworked everything) existing ones
