So I have a MHA-L29C432 with a half working custom rom after wipding data in TWRP wiped so much more then just data
1. I tried this http://www.stechguide.com/huawei-mate-9-b190-nougat-update/
Got 9 different errors in TWRP trying to flash update.zip and gave up
2. Tried making a dload folder on ext SDCard and putting the update.app there but it fails at 5% saying only software install failed.
3. Tried extracting system.img, boot.img and vendor.img and flashing them in fastboot but I get only a partial system as vendor.img cannot be flashed, error after error after error.
4. Tried the official Huawei HiSuite app that is supposed to restore devices but it says Mate 9 is not supported...
5. Even tried a clean install of a custom rom but TWRP crashes as soon as it tries to flash it.
6. Restoring a TWRP backup doesn't work neither as it's missing parts in the backup that were wiped in the TWRP factory reset, so pointless backup.
I have contributed to dozens of devices and I have never seen so many bugs before on any other device or rom, I'm getting desperate
No problem
Search forum for hwota method.
There you'll get 100% stock back.

Then install newest rom b194 . It works very well

Are you not able to get into Erecovery and download the stock version over wifi? Saved me many times from bootloops on this dumb phone. No need to flash a bunch of stuff.
E-recovery does not support L29 devices.
What is your device, or did you errand to Al00?

Good Day,
Have been trying to reset my X2 for a week !
Trouble when upgrading to B209
(I got to stock B209 but then when I flashed KANGVIP B209 slim it all went wrong )
I need to get my device back to how it was on B112
I have a Huawei Backup of Apps + Data and also a TWRP nandroid image backup of my B112 system
Desperate to get back ..................but can't without the device constantly restarting itself with a grinding noise
I had this problem once before and recovered from it but seem unable to now and I have forgotten how I did it.....please HELP !
I have the stock B112 extracted
I have fastboot flashed the boot.img, cache.img, cust.img, recovery.img and system.img
I am getting to a stock B112 device but then it restarts itself
I even tried flashing from TWRP the universal-cust-b112.zip file but that does not cure it
Please help me guys...I need my device back stable and my apps and data back
Step by Step please ...............I am ok with fastboot (a little knowledge of ADB) and TWRP but still need full working instructions !
Thank you
this worked for me
you can read it in the SimplyGoogle Thread last page what happend.
coming back from Kangvip_Slim_B209
Hi,
i managed to go to KangVipSlimB209. After trying a few things with the help from audioralf i decided to try to go back to SimplyGoogleB112 following the Thread "Safe way to get back to B112 (android 5.1.1) from B205 or B209 (android 6.0) ."
It didn´t worked
This is what i did after that :
1. Flash B112 Stock Images with ADB
Reboot
No Simcard Options, No carrier, Audio Problem and reboot again after unlock Lockscreen
Flash TWRP5.1.1
Factoryreset in TWRP
Boot into Bootloader
Flash Recovery B112
Reboot
After Factoyreset always no reboot after unlocking Lockscreen
2. After minimal Setup do a EMUI DLOAD GEM-703L_EMUI3.1_Android5.1_V100R001C233B112
Failed
Flash TWRP5.1.1
install SimplyGoogleB112
Factoryreset in TWRP
It worked
Problem now : My Phonememory ist diplayed in Settings 32GB but only 289MB free. Internal SD has only 3.86GB (already used 3,56GB)
I deleted the Custfolder and installed UniversalCust-B112, but no change.
I deleted the Custfolder again and installed UniversalCust-B209, also no change.
Is there a way to get internal SD back to 32 GB ?
Thanks for your help,
Sebastian Neumann

Greetings,

I used to be like you, would like to share some experience with you, firstly you must reflash rom KANGVIP_SLIM_B209 by reinstalling TWRP-ENG-6.0: Huawei MediaPad X2 connected to the computer, hold down the button at the same time source and volum - to enter the bootloader, ADB and fastboot open Minimal, in fastboot flash recovery TWRP-ENG-6.0.img, hold the power button at the same time and on the team to win volum + v2.8.7.0 recovery project, in Wipe, ADVANCED WIPE on, marking the start of Dalvik Cache 4; System; Cache, Data, done repeatedly, to install KANGVIP_SLIM_B209 selected in the external storage card, after completing the installation KANGVIP_SLIM_B209, reconnected to the computer, copying all data from the memory of the computer.
Then you continue working under the guidance of the article vuhongduong Safe Way to Get back to B112 (android 5.1.1) B205 or B209 from (android 6.0)
Wish you luck and success

http://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-x2/general/how-to-flash-rom-gem-701-702-703-t3293795
I found my order list of amazon and I bought the 703

which version on it,Android 5.1.1 or 6.0?
on 5.1.1,
Download B112 and Copy in SD Card in dload Folder.
Extract the UPDATE.APP with Huawei Extractor and extract System.img,Boot.img,Cache.img,Recovery.img and Cust.img and flash all the img Files with Fastboot.
Power off the Device and Press Volume+ and- and Power Button at same Time to boot in Recovery, this flash the UPDATE.APP
wait to finish and you have 5.1.1 on it
or Download this Backup B112 unpack it,Copy in Sd Card TWRP/BACKUPS/N7MXXXXXXX/B112_Backup
(But only the win, info and win000 and win001 files in the last Folder)

Hi
I'm quite sure i have moved form 701L (B03) to 703L (B112) succesfully, but then i made first mistake to flash NearStockB111.zip and after that......
don't ask a lot of mistakes... Last thing was to try with fastboot to flash all the B015 files (with and without recovery, with TRWP 5.0), but still bootloops.
Please can i recover B112? How?
Thank's a alot
Andy
Hi
For other: Original B112 app file -> extract with universal extractor -> fastboot flash boot, recovery, system and userdata. Now i'm on B112 and everything seems o.k (about screen shows 3GB , B112, correct screen resolution)
Thank's
Andy
You forgot to install the universal cust.
But now you can factory reset from EMUI and then start the b211 update.zip as incremental update from EMUI.
My device: 701->703 B211 xposed 86
Hi I came from 702, flashed to 703 SimplyGoogle NearStock B111.
So i followed the
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-x2/general/how-to-convert-to-gem-702l-t3388477
Managed to flash with fastboot the 5 imgs. However, something went wrong and now i can't dload "Update.app" from dload folder.
Selecting LocalUpdate from Updater app doesn't work, it just reboots twice and goes to normal boot.
Vol Up+Down+Power ==> Holds it, release power when phone on, ==> phone reboots ==> keeps holding ==> Goes to TWRP5.0
Vol Up+Power ==> Huawei's eRecovery (WTF)
Vol Down+Power ==> bootloader (at least this works).
Can anyone help me out here? I'm stuck with the battery (either not charging or NOT showing its charging) and usb connection doesn't transfer (feel at all).
Edit: I keep getting an error from TWRP, dunno if it matters:
E:Failed to sysMapFile '/data/media/0/'
E:Error installing zip file '/data/media/0/'
Thanks and Regards,
Kev
Oops you may skipped reset on b015 and b106.
Do factory reset in TWRP.
Flash recovering boot and system from B106 and then install TWRP (newest version or TWRP for 5.11 and install universal cust mod b112.
Flash recovery.img for B106 on bootloader.
Start system and dload of b106 from EMUI.
Then do factory reset from EMUI including format internal sd.

Hey Thanks a lot for the help. After lots of fastboot flashing, i'm actually got back to the end of your guide with NearStockB111 now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-x2/general/how-to-flash-rom-gem-701-702-703-t3293795
I still have the same issue with the dload, should i try to follow the step you suggested still?
Flash recovery boot/system from B106 and install 5.1.1 TWRP and cust mod b112, and so on .
Second question, how can i get to b2xx from b111, most of the threads from android development requires you to be already in b2xx to flash.
Is it safe for me to try this b112 -> b209
http://forum.xda-developers.com/med...w-to-update-b112-to-b209-android-6-0-t3360279
even though i'm in b111?
Thanks a lot man
If you reached successfully B111, you don't need to start with B106.
Put both files update.app 112 and update.zip b211 to dload folder.
Flash only boot, system and recovery from b112
Start system and do factory reset from EMUI
Start system and select update local full update.app for b112.
Start system and select update local incremental update.zip from b211
Then flash newest TWRP and install KangVIP

Thanks alot audioralf, i'm getting there (slowly )
I have 2 question:
1) i'm at "Start system and select update local full update.app for b112.", I got dload method to show up again. But i keep getting "Software Install failed" Incompatible with current version.
Note ** flashed boot/recovery/system from the same b112 package from
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24385226645962831
2) I found this update.zip for b211 here, is it an *incremental update*? how do i tell?
http://android.gl/download-huawei-mediapad-x2-gem-703l-c233b211-android-6-0-firmware.html

I thought you cust were ok. I seems not.
Flash TWRP and install universal cust mod b112
Then try update again.
It depends on the selected file on EMUI update menu, if it does full or incremental update. It's displayed.

Hallo all,
I’ve bricked my Honor 8. I’ve tried to fix the “failed to mount ´/data´”
problem (if i remember it right) by changing the data format with twrp
3.1.1.0 from F2FS to ext4 back to F2FS. After that I got “failed to mount
´/cust´ - ´/vendor´ - ´/system´ and ´/product´ (invalid argument)
What doesn´t work to unbrick:
The HiSuite sytem-recovery – system is not supported
The Huawei – eRecovery: after connect Wifi: Package not found - Package data failed (something like that)
Rollback to Android 6.0: works - rebooted in eRecovery mode and changed emui to "cant connect to Wifi".
ADB fastboot:
Trying to flash the
- boot.img (works)
- recovery.img (works)
- system.img - > FAILED (remote: spare flash write failure) WHY?
The dload-method:
trying the Stock Rom Honor 8_Firmware_FRD-L09_Android 6.0_EMUI
4.1_C432B131_Western Europe.zip – chrashed at 5%
Would be very thankful for help.
Update
After a lot frustration and my last hope to send it to a repair service I remembered the first problem, when i´ve tried to install a custom rom with the error message that includes: “This package is for: FRD L09….. blabla. THIS DEVICE IS EVA” EVA stands for Honor P9.
So I´ve tried to install “HUAWEI_P9_Firmware_EVA-L09_Android 6.0_EMUI 4.1.1_C432B182_Western Europe.zip” with the dload-SDcard method.
And…. it works. So, now I’ve a Honor 8 that says “I’m a P9”
Can please someone explain what happened to my smartphone and is there a chance to install custom rom or stock based on Honor 8? :cyclops:

Basically twrp took over the recovery partition, so erecovery couldn't do it's thing and activate wifi what you can do is use the rollback package, then flash the regular recovery (from the full package) and use that to fully recover your device.

I only can use the rollback package from the Honor P9 und i´ve did. But it doesn´t change my phone back into a Honor 8 rom device and doesn´t reactivate the WIFI.
I think you are right and twrp_3.1.0. changed from LRP to EVA. There are not many steps i´ve done. I´ve unlocked it and flashed twrp. But why and how and how change it back to LRP?

Alright. If I were you I'd try something, download the emui 4 full package for the honor 8, use the update extractor to pull recovery off of it.
Plug the phone in and hold power+volume down to access fastboot, and flash the recovery image, now use the roll back honor 8 package or see if you can flash the regular honor 8 package with dload.

Sounds good. I´ll try it, if its necessary. Today I gave it to a local tech support.

hey bro , he said "he is in EVA" and FRD firmware wont work on the device, he had to rebrand to FRD to dload firmware.
