[resurrection remix 5.8.5][7.1.2][Unofficial]samsung S4 GT-i9515/L - Galaxy S 4 General

I have no plans to return so soon.
The screen capture is real yes, only showing the optimization of the system when it starts, every cell has to adapt to the user's use, the battery can last a lot or discharge quickly.
Is the last compilation of the resurrection remix do not expect others.
I do not have time to work at Oreo! Soon this topic will be locked.

Read the topic below, good luck.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/how-to-set-selinux-to-permissive-boot-t3034245

Please, anyone who tests report how the rom is working.
UPDATE!

The ROM works good. Although havent tested it thoroughly.
The performance is the same I had with mitomanu ROM.
Thanks!

Hi friend, here everything is working normal (i9515l).
I can select and change the ringtones of the notification.
Or I do not understand what you like to say.

Thanks @sombree and @mitomanu, I still have a lot to learn.
The intention is to learn, I have used the rom of @sombree for a long time, I have no intention of getting in the way.
I will make the edits for personal use, and I thought some people would have the same taste as me.
I have some tests to do, I'm going to change the kernel (I'm thinking and extracting Samsungdoze.apk from my rom L9515LUBU1BQF1 and I'm going to test, I can not make big changes because I use the cell phone daily.
God bless all. :good:

Good to see someone from my country developing for our device! Noticed the Nubank icon on your screenshot. hahaha Good luck!

have you compiled another kernel? Suddenly the rom can heat up less, with a new kernel. @droidfuture

When will there be a new update?

Hellow and i decided to download this build right away, about to install it once it finishes the downloading process.
As i have observed, seems like a continuation to mitomanu's work, whick had a breakdown due to an depressing event.
I have to ask the current developer and admin of the continuation, droidfuture, will you continue to update this supreme os? Keep it alive and well on our i9515? If and for your work, i do appreciate very highly and do thank you a very lot for your presence there.
I was not really expected anything new onto this device, just basic lineage builds, whick is good itself but it is a major decline in customization, especially on theming.
If i do choose to use deprecated layers manager, (not substratum), could it run flawlessly? Well i have to test it, because substratum is very complex and lacks theme development, there are way superior themes on deprecated layers overthere and we all can agree with this point.
Really thanks for this artwork and thumbs up, you're the man.

Quite surprised to preview the googleapplications as in a aroma variant, i suppose its bs free, right? So we can choose whick google applications will be installed after the flash of rom? Seems revolutionary if it is so, cause majority of people, the ones of quality do choose the bare minimum google bs components installation just to get the store playing well.

Yes, I will continue with the updates.
You can use OpenGapps and customize your installation.
The rom that is posted is the one I use on a daily basis.
I have basic knowledge, so many things I would like to be able to do for our dear S4.

Hey droidfuture, ive got a very minor bug on the status bar pull out, ive applied a custom font with a module and the text itself is at 100% dimmension, that is normal sized, since ive modified qs tiles as shown in the image below.
Is it possible to use text at full size 100% with the current configuration and show proper qs tiles text?
thx

Thanks to @pandasa123 we have Slim on our device again, whether it's official or not doesn't really matter, the main thing is he's gracious enough to provide us all with another quality ROM. Plus there's another ROM hitting our device in the next day or so too.

Hey guys, a new build is up - Slim Stable 6.0. I've been running 5.10 for a week and it was stable for me then - no random reboots, etc. - but apperantly the Slim team believes that 6.0 is even more stable. Been running it for about 2 hours and it's smooth

From now on, most of my projects will be hosted on AFH. I'm going to have fun with this. At any point, you may feel free to peek around, but be warned: files not in the Slim folder and until otherwise noted might be dangerous and/or just won't boot your phone.
If you do, however, try those files, shoot me a P.M. I'd love to hear your thoughts

OrionLP is a project based on slim. The name Orion was chosen as a representation of the beauty and vastness of world around us (Too much Philosophy, eh? ). We started this project for falcon (Moto G), to make a stable Rom which would include Bitsyko layers and important customization. The Rom is built with Uber toolchain which delivers awesome smoothness and is packed with a custom kernel built from ground-up to ensure good performance [WIP]. Needless to say, this project is a product of our hobbies and the love we bore for Android.

This is excellent, especially for a blind build...I had a few issues [not major] and will post them tomorrow also with logcats...
Thanks again...
I've noticed a few very minor things as well, but overall, this is an excellent ROM, exceptional even on the basis of it being an initial release and blind build. I'll share more specific details and any pertinent logs/feedback after I've had more time to use the ROM. Good.
Okay... Been playing with Orion for a bit now... Few small things, including viper was a nice touch, but is somewhat pointless without having either the ability toggle SElinux permissive built into the ROM/kernel, or having an su.d script to run v4a in an SElinux permissive group, or having an init. D script to boot into SElinux permissive. As is, v4a driver status will be abnormal due to it being blocked by SElinux enforcing. Obviously, a quick terminal command can switch to SElinux permissive to run viper correctly, but that isn't an ideal solution.
Perhaps this can be added?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=61242973
Also, I was prompted for an OTA update, but clicking the link to download Orion LP in the Orion OTA screen redirects to the developer's access screen on AFH instead of the users download area... The prompt for the update is in error as well, as the ROM .zip I originally downloaded and flashed was dated 8-24, Basically, it prompts for an OTA to the same version I have installed, possibly because the build date for the 8-24 .zip is 8-23... Switched OTA check off. Otherwise, nothing else to report. Nice ROM.

I got around the viper issue by using a bypass-pie patch [obviously not a permanent solution]...I checked your link and DL'd the fix. Will give it a spin later...
Can confirm the issues you highlighted [I thought maybe the ota thing was a date mismatch in build-prop]...anyway no other problems, I really like this ROM, fine work.
Cheers...
Running great here! Thank you!

Yes I think I forgot to delete build.prop before building so it's a date mismatch will fix when I get home and I'll talk to the team about the viper/selinux fix

Yeah, it's in the build. prop. The information in any "about phone" or "about tablet" screen is gathered and displayed from the get.prop command, which queries lines in the build. prop.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!
Note: I have been creating these unofficial builds for a while now, but they have only been posted on Google Plus in the past. Updates should come weekly in most cases, though of course this is not always possible. Expect new builds on Sunday (usually).

How can I get Viper4Android working?
Check this thread out https://plus.google.com/+JasonPasch5/posts/6JDRjdL2mKM
Are you coming from a ROM with Layers?
Make sure you remove your 'overlay' folders and perform a FULL WIPE
My battery stats are all messed and reporting the wrong percentage, what can I do?
Stop using another kernel. Do a FULL WIPE and flash the ROM again
Is this ROM CM based or AOSP based?
This ROM is based off AOSP
Does this ROM have layers or the CMTE?
This ROM uses the CM theme engine
Pulse doesn't work with [insert music app]
Check this thread out https://plus.google.com/101146731143...ts/TcSzc61xuVx
I'm getting a FC from the theme chooser, what gives?
This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.
I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.

Secured lock screen bouncer does not behave correctly.
It works with missed calls as intended which would show the missed call notification on lock screen but other than that it would not behave correctly on any other notifications such as text messages

On lock screen config there is a bouncer setting (which is only there ifyou have a secured lock screen) that lets you bypass the lock screen and go straight to the pattern unlock if there is no notifications pending. It's a great feature but it only works on missed calls. It would not work on messaging or any other notifications.
Anotherwords, if you have this feature on and get a text message, when you turn on the display instead of showing you the text message notification on lock screen, it would take you straight to pattern unlock screen, meaning you have no notifications.

I was on RR and it was fairly smooth and had good battery life. It had problems with wifi, bluetooth and telephone calls. I've been on Unicorn for a day and I really like it so far; battery isn't great but need to tweak my settings to get better life.

From official Paranoid Android team :
"We’re really excited to announce that we are releasing our Nougat flavour of Paranoid Android. We have a lot in store - with a mix of both features & improvements.
First & foremost, we have moved our code base to be fully CAF based. This brings many improvements to your device. The key improvement here is that Qualcomm hardware is better tuned on the CAF base and with our additional optimizations we can provide a smooth and fluid user experience that will let you enjoy using your device without any lags.
On first launch you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson who’s teamed up with us again and created several beautiful pieces of artwork. For those of you who don’t know, Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work stands itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We have also added several new features and made improvements to the UI of the system that we believe would enhance the overall experience.
Pie
We’ve been working hard on redesigning this key feature of our portfolio and we’re really happy with how it has turned out. The whole design has been reworked and it fits in well with the overall feel of Google’s Material Design. This gives you the opportunity to use more gesture based control for navigating, rather than using the standard Navigation Bar at the bottom of your screen. Expect improvements and additions in the future.
Color Engine
We’re proud to announce our newest feature - Color Engine. Color Engine allows you to seamlessly change the colors of your device to be in Light, Dark (Pixel) and Black modes with a variety of accent colors to choose from. This makes changing the theme of your device really quick without having to install any extra packages on your device.
Pocket Lock
This feature prevents any form of accidental input when your device is in your pocket by disabling input sources. You can simply release Pocket Lock by long pressing the power button as highlighted by the minimal UI incase of any sort of obstruction or dust on the sensors.
Accidental Touch
Accidental Touch is a feature useful for many, especially the gamers out there. It prevents any sort of accidental touch on hardware buttons while the touchscreen is in use. This means you won’t experience any unexpected behaviour while playing games, web browsing or even when attempting to reach your finger out to the edge of that humongous display.
Major features:
- Reworked Pie
- Color engine
- Pocket lock
- Immersive mode
- Buttons customization (including navigation bar)
- On the spot controls (OTS)
Minor features:
- SafetyNet Compatibility
- Battery/Notification LED control
- Recent tasks locking
- Battery icon customization
- Google now page in default launcher
- Accidental touch
- Three finger swipe Screenshot
- Substratum (OMS) support (Color engine will be deactivated if you use Substratum)
- Quick pulldown
- Various performance and battery improvements
- Display Burn-in protection (for OLED screens)
- More to explore
Note: Custom kernels are explicitly unsupported and will cause issues
unless they state that they are AOSPA compatible or AOSPA based!
Moar Notes!!

This is crazy. I was on the old PA thread a week ago and thought it was wishful thinking to hope for a Nougat PA build for Falcon. Gonna try this after my exams! :fingers-crossed:
P.S.: I noticed SELinux is permissive, is there any way to have it enforcing by default? Apart from apps that change it for you? Maybe an init.d script (if the ROM supports it) could do the trick?

Added to OP. It's very similar to RR in terms of options but they have their own launcher (never used it though). This has stock Lineage apps instead of some of the crDroid versions for now. I'm still looking into how to integrate those packages.
I had no sound when receiving call, pressed a few buttons and it worked, could of pressed something with my cheek ?
Great job Gavin!
Thanks for another oreo to the family.
We are needing multirom very urgently

Yeah, definitely...
A great one. Lots of optimizations, no black screen when receiving a call(without a fix or other dialer), and TSF launcher works(although an unnecessary info). Thanks Gavin.

No problem. Glad to hear it. I used it for a long time on my old Nexus 6 instead of RR. I think the logo is awful but the ROM is great (99% similar to Resurrection Remix to be honest) but I find it to be a bit quicker. I've taken about 6 calls and not once got a black screen (stock dialer).
For RR users, the black theme (not dark) is missing, as is the blur option but dynamic nav bar colour works (nav bar background colour matches app's main colour, e.g nav bar background colour is green in WhatsApp), and the battery icon is also removable (@Super_SU01).

Yes, very similar to RR,. I've also used it on my Lg g3 years ago, was my favourite.
I don't use stock themes, substratum is on. And using the Perfect color bar module for both statusbar(flat color, matching with the app's headers) and nav bar(Im getting used to it).
Off topic; do you consider compiling a custom kernel? Options on a kernel like enable/disable touch boost(to input custom values per cpu), cpu hotplug etc? Tried the hot plug on Pepsy kernel, seemed like helping on battery saving. Just curiosity..

Custom kernels are out of my reach. I'm just hoping for a new Psychedelic/Pepsy or an updated Floppy.

If I had to pick one of crDroid/RR/AICP to use I would definitely go for crDroid. Can't say why exactly, but it just feels smoother.
I'll probably put an update out tomorrow so it's at least using the latest security patches.

Settings » crDroid settings » 'Navigation' tab » Navigation mode » Select 'SmartBar' then
» SmartBar settings » Start edit mode » Long press to any button and replace it. You can also change icon style, add gestures and extra buttons too.
Sent from my Xiaomi Mi Mix using XDA Labs
Update - 11/3
- Various dark theme fixes
- Use crDroid file manager instead of Lineage version
- APKs can now be installed from file managers other than stock
- Update to March security patch
- Proximity fixes held back due to instability/unreliability
- Experimental workaround for Expanded Desktop bug - Toggling ED from the quick settings/smartbar will automatically exclude the launcher. The reason being that ED (nav or nav+status bars) causes a variety of issues (battery drain, phone won't deep sleep, slow unlock, slow/no wake with power button/FP/double-tap, lock screen sometimes skipped entirely)
