OrionLP is a project based on slim. The name Orion was chosen as a representation of the beauty and vastness of world around us (Too much Philosophy, eh? ). We started this project for falcon (Moto G), to make a stable Rom which would include Bitsyko layers and important customization. The Rom is built with Uber toolchain which delivers awesome smoothness and is packed with a custom kernel built from ground-up to ensure good performance [WIP]. Needless to say, this project is a product of our hobbies and the love we bore for Android.

This is excellent, especially for a blind build...I had a few issues [not major] and will post them tomorrow also with logcats...
Thanks again...

I've noticed a few very minor things as well, but overall, this is an excellent ROM, exceptional even on the basis of it being an initial release and blind build. I'll share more specific details and any pertinent logs/feedback after I've had more time to use the ROM. Good.

Okay... Been playing with Orion for a bit now... Few small things, including viper was a nice touch, but is somewhat pointless without having either the ability toggle SElinux permissive built into the ROM/kernel, or having an su.d script to run v4a in an SElinux permissive group, or having an init. D script to boot into SElinux permissive. As is, v4a driver status will be abnormal due to it being blocked by SElinux enforcing. Obviously, a quick terminal command can switch to SElinux permissive to run viper correctly, but that isn't an ideal solution.
Perhaps this can be added?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=61242973
Also, I was prompted for an OTA update, but clicking the link to download Orion LP in the Orion OTA screen redirects to the developer's access screen on AFH instead of the users download area... The prompt for the update is in error as well, as the ROM .zip I originally downloaded and flashed was dated 8-24, Basically, it prompts for an OTA to the same version I have installed, possibly because the build date for the 8-24 .zip is 8-23... Switched OTA check off. Otherwise, nothing else to report. Nice ROM.

I got around the viper issue by using a bypass-pie patch [obviously not a permanent solution]...I checked your link and DL'd the fix. Will give it a spin later...
Can confirm the issues you highlighted [I thought maybe the ota thing was a date mismatch in build-prop]...anyway no other problems, I really like this ROM, fine work.
Cheers...

Running great here! Thank you!

Yes I think I forgot to delete build.prop before building so it's a date mismatch will fix when I get home and I'll talk to the team about the viper/selinux fix

Yeah, it's in the build. prop. The information in any "about phone" or "about tablet" screen is gathered and displayed from the get.prop command, which queries lines in the build. prop.

The red box
Tried it out damn it has a ass load of customization...But funny thing I never saw before a red box all the way around the screen keep flashing
about every minute or so....Kind of scary..Anyone else have this happen???
Will try this out and I am also curious how Viper4android works with the dts HD true sound if at all.

I tried this rom and it does indeed have a boatload of customization. I could not get viper 4 Android to work though. The drivers would not install. The rom is pretty slick though!

12 hours 30 mins SOT with WiFi on is insane. Mostly that was tapatalk and chrome, g+. I also downloaded a few apps and a ROM. I've never managed this before on KitKat or Lollipop! [emoji2] [emoji41]
Thanks to everyone that has worked on this ROM.
Always hear about this ROM so thought I'd take it for a spin. Interface is really good looking! Similar to another ROM I tried this weekend though, GPS doesn't seem to work for me (with WiFi turned off). I'll keep watching its progress ?
Update: Must be a kernel issue. I installed elemental x kernel, and GPS came back online ?
Thanks for the ROM, works great. Battery life is awesome so far! The only problem I'm having is with Google Play movies. I get the message Playback isn't supported on this device. Is there something I can download to make this work?
Thanks,
Erin

thanks for update, I rarely use my N7 since I got my N6 back in november but it's good to have Validus on both now. Thanks again!
@oadam11 Just popping in to say hi
To stay on topic, I've been running and the previous build for over a week without any issues what so ever. Theme run nicely, although the latest cm commits will apparently make them better still.
Loving it. Keep up the good work!
Good job!
I just heard about Validus today for the first time. I have installed it on my "flo" device, and I'm happy.
Thank you for the great work!
A few minor issues:
1. Tiles sometimes disappear when they are being moved around in Settings->Notification drawer->Select and order tiles
2. Custom icons don't display when selected for Navigation Bar buttons in Settings->The void->Navigation bar->Editor
3. Turning off Settings->Notification drawer->Show brightness slider is ignored. Slider remains, and setting always turns back "on".
Things I especially like:
1. Moving, changing, and adding Navigation Bar buttons. This is the only 5.0.x ROM I have found so far which offers this capability.
2. Changing screen DPI from within Settings, without the need of any special build.props management utility.
Wish list:
1. Allow optional date next to the time in the Status Bar.
2. Allow the color to be selected for Status Bar icons.
3. Move, change, add, remove Power Menu buttons.
Anyway, keep up the good work!
.
I just downloaded the 02/03 version of this ROM. Works well!
The following two issues still remain:
1. Tiles sometimes disappear when they are being moved around in Settings->Notification drawer->Select and order tiles
2. Turning off Settings->Notification drawer->Show brightness slider is ignored. Slider remains, and setting always turns back "on".
Also, I see that the navigation bar buttons are now managed differently than before. In Settings->Buttons->Navigation bar->Buttons and layout, we no longer can assign custom actions to navigation bar buttons. I liked the fact that I could do that in the 01/27 ROM. Will we be able to assign custom actions to navigation bar buttons in a future release?
Anyway, thanks for all the work.
.
Hey guys. New build is up in the OP. Enjoy!
i just sorta randomly picked this for my n713 - and I am highly impressed!! The battery life has been awesome and it hasn't even had time to "settle". I had never heard of this rom before just trying it out, couldn't be happier! Thanks for your work!

WARNING: This has been tested ONLY on XT1032. It will work on GPE and XT1034, however XT1033 (dual-sim) is buggy and it will NOT work on CDMA
Thanks to @premaca and @mbj731 for testing and reporting other variants
AOD's premise is (and I quote):
AndroidOpenDevelopment is meant to be an AOSP/CAF base with hardware support for various OEM chipsets such as QCOM OMAP Tegra, etc, without any additional feature support.
It is hoped that various community ROMs will submit patches from upstream sources for basic hardware support eliminating the need for each ROM to do all the extra work, thereby bringing COMMUNITY back to android

When I stumbled upon this rom I couldn't have felt happier: It was basically out of the box AOSP/CAF but perfectly compatible with our device (well, I did change some things for compatibility but it was pretty much done!). So, after build was done and I flashed it on my xt1032, I got even another surprise: it was smooth. Really, really smooth. So I decided to start using it and maybe start making my own changes, making the rom I would like to use everyday. Obviously, there are still TODOs, but it is now in a very nice state so I wanted to share it with you guys, see what you think. Now, here's a changelog of the uploaded builds (you should check the github for all the changes since the beginning of time):

Find out by yourself ^^
I Just installed on XT1033, and is working out of the box. I was on stock 5.0.2 and with twrp 2.8.5.0, installed successfully without any errors and boot was quick too, surprisingly.
Will test for couple minutes and post screen shots. XT1033 users can flash this ROM without any doubt, and great thanks to @anerik for another wonderful ROM. (PS: I have only one SIM currently though, nevertheless the other SIM with cross-icon is showing)
Fantastic stuff! I'll be adding bionic optimizations soon for even better performance.

The primary idea of this ROM is to provide an AOSP experience with some useful stuff. For the other tweaks, there's CM.

the current headsup of stock android sucks at functionality most of the time.... some settings like the timer to dismiss the notification and enable disable heads up.. i guess it is implemented in AICP ROM

Welcome to AxxionPop! While it's been a tough few months developing, we finally managed to release! The two main people working on this are @siracuervo and @ThatKawaiiGuy (who are both school students), they've both worked their butts off on this, busy with school and their own lives, so we appreciate any sort of positive feedback on the rom. Since they are students and too young to work at any jobs, any sort of donation is appreciated and you can donate through PayPal to [email protected].
For those who are late to this Axxion party, they released around May last year in Kitkat with the title AxxionKat. They were still beginners in Android development, but this time they're releasing with a few original features such as legacy menu navbar customizations, power menu positions and floating window ported from kitkat with some enhancements and fixes. Very nice work from @siracuervo.

Very nice ROM, running great so far! Only issue I've noticed is some elements of layers themes not being applied (card style settings not applied and icons in settings not changing color).
Speedy and stable though, will be following this one ?

Thanks! And after testing more themes, card style settings are actually being applied. Colors being applied varies with the theme though. All settings icons are themed with elyxium dark or blackish. But only a couple are with florid or prodigy rro.
Excellent rom! Thanks for bringing it to Flo!
Running this on hammerhead. Very happy to see it for flo! Will flash when I get a chance.
Nice rom thanks! Noticed that layers isn't quite working as it should - I tend to stick with the Pastelz theme and the Navbar icons don't change into what they should, they just become grey blobs as opposed to coloured. Can see above that this will hopefully be fixed in the next release which is always good. Ta.
Great Rom
Great rom, no issues at all in the first 24 hrs of use. Very quick and without glitches. Haven't used layers so no comment there. Thanks!
Edit: Going on 5 days now, still running smooth, battery life has has increased, using layers without any issues. One of the best roms I've used with flo .
Congratulations on this ROM. Powerful NavBar, OTG and Layers support. Great for tablets like Flo. Just missing OTA and more tiles in Quicksettings. Also recent panel stopped working. Other than that, very very good.
Can build 5.1.1 r8 deb versione aosp? I can test
ROM has been running for a few hours now. Very nice! Although I don't seem to be able to flash a custom kernel without things going completely wonky. Anyone else?
I tried flashing AOSP EX, but since this ROM seems to use a CM-based kernel, only the CM version of EX worked. Go figure...

I mean the right version of vindicator (cm based kernel, dated 31/5).
If you flash the aosp version you WILL have horrendous lag...
