WARNING: This has been tested ONLY on XT1032. It will work on GPE and XT1034, however XT1033 (dual-sim) is buggy and it will NOT work on CDMA
Thanks to @premaca and @mbj731 for testing and reporting other variants
AOD's premise is (and I quote):
AndroidOpenDevelopment is meant to be an AOSP/CAF base with hardware support for various OEM chipsets such as QCOM OMAP Tegra, etc, without any additional feature support.
It is hoped that various community ROMs will submit patches from upstream sources for basic hardware support eliminating the need for each ROM to do all the extra work, thereby bringing COMMUNITY back to android

When I stumbled upon this rom I couldn't have felt happier: It was basically out of the box AOSP/CAF but perfectly compatible with our device (well, I did change some things for compatibility but it was pretty much done!). So, after build was done and I flashed it on my xt1032, I got even another surprise: it was smooth. Really, really smooth. So I decided to start using it and maybe start making my own changes, making the rom I would like to use everyday. Obviously, there are still TODOs, but it is now in a very nice state so I wanted to share it with you guys, see what you think. Now, here's a changelog of the uploaded builds (you should check the github for all the changes since the beginning of time):

Find out by yourself ^^

I Just installed on XT1033, and is working out of the box. I was on stock 5.0.2 and with twrp 2.8.5.0, installed successfully without any errors and boot was quick too, surprisingly.
Will test for couple minutes and post screen shots. XT1033 users can flash this ROM without any doubt, and great thanks to @anerik for another wonderful ROM. (PS: I have only one SIM currently though, nevertheless the other SIM with cross-icon is showing)

Fantastic stuff! I'll be adding bionic optimizations soon for even better performance.

i'm sorry but that's a no - I wouldn't even touch those features, and I like to stay as close as possible to AOSP.

The primary idea of this ROM is to provide an AOSP experience with some useful stuff. For the other tweaks, there's CM.

what do you mean? I have wanted to add slim's headsup features but haven't got the time yet

the current headsup of stock android sucks at functionality most of the time.... some settings like the timer to dismiss the notification and enable disable heads up.. i guess it is implemented in AICP ROM

Just for clarification, the download link with cherry picks is the one with modified Camera stuffs. Let me know which you prefer. If there are too many issues with the modified build I'll try again before abandoning the changes completely. Thanks guys and gals!
First.thanks for another great ROM and thank you BMP
Cherry picks work for Camera!
Thanks @Kiltnar, the 5-second delay is gone! While the preview didn't work with the Camera2 and Gallery2.apks that are included even when switch to 480p, I swapped both apks with the two from the Unofficial CM 11 04/01 version, repaired permissions and now I have no delay and fully working preview on camcorder! If you want to test to see if it works for you too. I am attaching them here. Thank @ThdDude as it's from his rom.
Also I noticed that in the build.prop in /system that the line "lpa.decode=true" hasn't been changed to false, I know it's a mainstream CM merge, but just wanted to let you know. Thanks again for your awesome work!
Hey this looks really cool! I may give it a spin soon. Thanks for sharing!

I dirty flashed myself and the delay was gone after the rom Optimized the Apps. I did experience a random reboot, but that was shortly after I changed the governor and made a call, which most likely is caused by the dirty flash. After it rebooted, I haven't had a problem, but will let everyone know if I do.
Has anyone tried the addons through aroma like xscope or the sweetener pack? I always get set_perm: some changes failed.
Is the 5second delay gone ?,
No more reboots after video preview? Can you add wakelocker. cLock. Mass storage
?
We need screen shots of rom. Please.. Thank you

I haven't tried them out. But will once it charges. I'll let you know if I experience the same thing. Will be making another build with Bluetooth fixes .. Ie reverting a commit that seems to help Bluetooth along from @Almite github. He seems to have the only KitKat rom with no Bluetooth issues. I took a look at his github and saw he reverted a commit dealing with Bluetooth. I'll build in a bit with this fix.

Awesome. Sounds good.
Obviously these addons aren't essential but just throwing it out there for what its worth. I tried it out on my N7 and everything seemed to work (install) fine. However, after it booted no changes took effect. Everything was still stock. Not sure if a candy issue or what but just throwing it out there in case its just a ROM wide issue for now.

Yeah that's the commit that changes lpa.decode to false. I noticed the Parandroid rom, the last beta has that commit reversed also. It was @Almite who told me about it when I was experimenting with his Hercules rom.
Bluetooth Build fixed?
Here's a build with the LPA commit reverted for bluetooth. http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=5443
Also I tried all of the Generic Device aroma installer zips. They all installed fine but did not install the selected changes. Tried a couple twice, fixed permissions, but it did not work. @BMP7777 Can you check into this please?
Thanks guys and gals. Let me know if this fixes the bluetooth issues for those that have had problems, if this works I'll add this fix to my other builds to get bluetooth working on them as well. Thanks for all the support guys and gals, it means a lot.

I just tried the new build and unfortunately it didn't fix the Bluetooth issue. Once I launched Apollo, it fc and when I checked the build.prop, the lpa with still set to true.

CHANGELOG
You're an absolute beast. Downloading now
Couple things I noticed.
- Navbar buttons are huge! No way I saw to change it
- Shows no sim icon for CDMA. Everything works, but for some reason it has the no sim icon instead of a normal signal.
I know this is an unofficial so reporting bugs is kinda useless, but this is just for others who might consider installing this.
Good stuff man. Downloading now

thanks for leaving feedback read what i said in the first post which was to go to settings>LiquidSmooth>navagation>nav bar height to make the nav bar smaller.
Do you mean you get signal and everything works but it says no sim?

Yes, everything works but the no sim icon appears in the status bar.
I tried adjusting the nav bar height. While it makes the nav bar smaller, the button icons remain huge.
Thanks for the unofficial build. Downloading and will report back. @Dr. Brawler another layers supported ROM
Huge navbar icon size was fixed by applying a theme.

Surprisingly they've removed layers and moved onto CM TE.

I don't think they have permanently taken layers out. probably just waiting for SlimRoms to implement them into their builds

Let me know how the performance is guys, thats what im focusing mainly on for now. this is built with UBERTC 4.8.5.
Next build i do ill compile with -o3 optimizations, -dex optimizations and update kernel to 3.4.107

Is option to display arrows while typing available? I can't seem to find
Is this rom aosp? Or cm based?
Is dual sim working?
@Dr. Brawler the option ain't available yet.
@Niropa volumes are too low.
In call volume and media volume are low.
The ROM is running too good even as secondary ROM and using the same amount of apps I use in primary ROM.
Thanks and hope to get volume fix soon.
Very happy to see LS Rom back on our Falcon. I will give it a try today. Thanks to @Niropa for this work.

Dude, you did a great job indeed! :highfive: My unlocked N900P was not supported as per the META-INF updater-script, I added it and installed with idlekernel for cm13 in multiboot and it started booting. And, guess what this is the only CM 13 ROM which gave me signal on my GSM SIM on my N900P without touching any single thing. I am loving it!!!
Suggestion: Add hltespr in the updater-script and re-upload the ROM..

Stock kernel is not working for N900p. Hence, idlekernel for cm13 is mandatory.
bugs? sim card working? anyway, thanks for posting this. bliss is my favourite rom, unfortunately official support has been dropped.

No such problem here. Share screenshot..
first impression is pretty good, sim working, pretty stable atm.
i'm missing some functions or i'm unable to find them:
shake to clear notifications
on the go mode
customizing the notification panel (bt, wifi, 5 in a row, …)
lockscreen weather
can not colorize some text on notification and locksvreen
can not hidd brightness slider (i use lux brightness)
screenshot button combo doesnt work
forceclose on settings - battery (maybe due some modifications i made)
force close when switching to guest mode (maxbe theme related)
had 1 sod till now, made no changes to kernel config
cannot copy files to system/ app with solid explorer - copying with build in app seems to work but doesnt.
story: needed to copy an apk that refused to install. only copying in twrp worked. FS r/w issue?
other:
dialer app shows 1 chinese symbol
using latest idle kernel.
will continue the list if i find more...
thx for brining it here, bliss is awesome.

Lockscreen weather is in bliss settings but doesn't seem to work. Brightness slider can be hidden from notification panel by long pressing Edit Tiles icon. Screenshot combo working fine (power + volume down). No FC in settings for me.
I copied a camera file in system app through MiXplorer and it worked. No chinese symbol in dialer for me.
However, I couldn't find my favourite function of Ambient Display. Will it be added in near future? @patate331
thanks for your kind reply!
solved:
-brightness slider
-no more fc after switching back to stock theme
-screenshot combo works but i have to press way longer (maybe i configured it somewhere in the last official build)
partially solved:
edit tiles - still unable to set 5 in a row and colorize icons
not solved but will have a look tomorrow:
-copying apk to system/app - the file appears but is not functional. rebooted of course.
-chinese symbol appears (only when i get a call)
i'll add some pics tomorrow.

Yep, 5 icon setting is not here
I don't have chinese symbols in dialer or while receiving calls or dialing..
I was tested rom for couple of hours its stable for daily use.

Are you on lastest version?
The rom is very good but my sim card and sdcard do not appear.
Sorry for my poor english
yes, i was on 3.11.
i went back to last official version. i was missing too many things i love in bliss. the marshmellow version is pretty good and stable too but has shorter battery life, even with idle kernel.
edit: i had to correct myself. i now can copy to the system partition again.
will try again if a new version gets released.

Added to OP. It's very similar to RR in terms of options but they have their own launcher (never used it though). This has stock Lineage apps instead of some of the crDroid versions for now. I'm still looking into how to integrate those packages.
I had no sound when receiving call, pressed a few buttons and it worked, could of pressed something with my cheek ?
Great job Gavin!
Thanks for another oreo to the family.
We are needing multirom very urgently

Yeah, definitely...
A great one. Lots of optimizations, no black screen when receiving a call(without a fix or other dialer), and TSF launcher works(although an unnecessary info). Thanks Gavin.

No problem. Glad to hear it. I used it for a long time on my old Nexus 6 instead of RR. I think the logo is awful but the ROM is great (99% similar to Resurrection Remix to be honest) but I find it to be a bit quicker. I've taken about 6 calls and not once got a black screen (stock dialer).
For RR users, the black theme (not dark) is missing, as is the blur option but dynamic nav bar colour works (nav bar background colour matches app's main colour, e.g nav bar background colour is green in WhatsApp), and the battery icon is also removable (@Super_SU01).

Yes, very similar to RR,. I've also used it on my Lg g3 years ago, was my favourite.
I don't use stock themes, substratum is on. And using the Perfect color bar module for both statusbar(flat color, matching with the app's headers) and nav bar(Im getting used to it).
Off topic; do you consider compiling a custom kernel? Options on a kernel like enable/disable touch boost(to input custom values per cpu), cpu hotplug etc? Tried the hot plug on Pepsy kernel, seemed like helping on battery saving. Just curiosity..

If I had to pick one of crDroid/RR/AICP to use I would definitely go for crDroid. Can't say why exactly, but it just feels smoother.
I'll probably put an update out tomorrow so it's at least using the latest security patches.

Update - 11/3
- Various dark theme fixes
- Use crDroid file manager instead of Lineage version
- APKs can now be installed from file managers other than stock
- Update to March security patch
- Proximity fixes held back due to instability/unreliability
- Experimental workaround for Expanded Desktop bug - Toggling ED from the quick settings/smartbar will automatically exclude the launcher. The reason being that ED (nav or nav+status bars) causes a variety of issues (battery drain, phone won't deep sleep, slow unlock, slow/no wake with power button/FP/double-tap, lock screen sometimes skipped entirely)
