Stock android keeps overwriting TWRP recovery on Nvidia shield tablet every time I boot into android. What do I do?
Hello XDA learnt members, Is it possible to boot a secondary ROM from recovery partition? I am trying to flash a full ROM image in recovery partition (Ofcourse I resized my recovery partition to fit the ROM first) but it doesn't boot. The idea is to access secondary ROM via key combination (power+volume up) used for recovery. Instead of running recovery image such as TWRP etc I want full Android OS to load. Here is what I have already done and need help and insights from you guys.
1. Repartition the mmc of phone with increased recovery partition size - I have almost 5GB now for recovery partition (I am using Redmi 5)
2. Flash stock ROM normally to /system partition and TWRP to recovery partition
3. Everything works at this stage. TWRP boots up on pressing power+volume up, stock ROM boots up normally too
What I am trying to do is:
Flash stock ROM system into recovery partition - hoping volume up + power key will boot my secondary OS
This doesn't work. While I understand that recovery is just another OS with its own minimal kernel and tools and so bootloader should not have any problem if I flash system into recovery.
I am new to Android internals and still learning. Any help will be great.
Thanks
I wanted to root my OP6 and entered fastboot mode.
I successfully flashed the bluespark img from Terminal and installed the Bluespark ZIP file from this link
After rebooting, it got stuck on the bluespark logo and when I tried to reboot the system, the phone got stuck on the Bootloader unlocked screen.
I tried to repeat the process and this time flashed the TWRP lastest version. Now its stuck on the TWRP logo screen.
Then I browsed around and found these stock boot recovery img files,
After flashing the latest one, the phone got started properly but everytime I restart the phone, its getting stuck on the Bootloader warning screen and the recovery options are still stuck at TWRP image.
If nothing works, have a look here

tried updating to A11, installed to inactive slot, and rebooted but I don't boot into the OS I just boot into stock recovery can't boot the phone normally, I can flash TWRP and format the phone and it'll work normally, any reason why its doing this?
ah nevermind the issue still persists but got around it by formatting the phone which pretty much reset OOS 11 on my phone and let me boot normally

Hi
I got a OnePlus 6:
Product_Name: sdm845
VARIANT: SDM UFS
Serial_Number: e85e6df
I've tried installing TWRP but it just stops on Fastboot Loading.
If I somehow get the recovery partition running it flashes from black screen to regular every 30 seconds so it's impossible to recover.
I think I have Android 10 but not sure about enchilada.
A year ago I have a TWRP I could boot on but I've lost it.
Can someone direct me to a bootable TWRP or any way to fix this issue?
Thanka
