Nav-bar button to hide the nav-bar - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

Hey Guys,
I want to find a way to show an extra button on my nav-bar to hide my nav-bar. I am watching for a solution for like 2 month and still didn't find a way to do it.
I tried 'Custom Navigation Bar' where I can activate an immersive mode but the nav-bar is auto hiding after some seconds and I don't want that. You can add extra buttons to the nav-bar in this App but I don't know any Keycode which hides the nav-bar. Is there even a Keycode who does this?!?
I can't believe that I can't find a solution to this problem I found apps who can hide the nav-bar and I found apps who can add extra buttons to the nav-bar. all of this without root. But how to combine this? Anyone?
Ty for your time
Greetings Mr 305

using custom nav bar:
1.
Create a new profile (called mine "immersive") check change immersive settings, hide which ever you want
add button (i used left), type = toggle profile, select immersive profile, i set icon to chevron up.
2.
go back to main screen, click nav bar, change immersive mode yes, but keep nav and status bar unchecked.
add same button, type = toggle profile, select immersive profile, I set the icon to chevron up.
This will give you a button that toggles between immersive and non immersive profiles, you can obviously make other changes to the main screen and profile seperately

Ty sir!!! Works like a charm

[GUIDE] get rid of delay that happens when press and hold Home button

Do you have this trouble?
Most people are fine if they are already using soft keys or have navigation bar enabled. But when you only use capacitive buttons and are using Dalvik runtime, you may be having this delay visually upto 2 seconds. Try it out, press and hold your Home button.
So how do you fix it?
As can be inferred, beside switching to ART, if you have navigation bar on your screen, you will not have this problem. So here is one way to enable navigation bar and hide it (who needs it when you've already had capacitive buttons)
+ Add qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to your build.prop. You can use this build.prop editor.
http://goo.gl/vVjqgk (reboot if you want the bar to show up for the next step to be done more easily)
+ Download GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys ROOT and configure it to hide the bar http://goo.gl/vfhPR (Any app or xposed module to reduce the height of the bar will also do the job)
+ Reboot and enjoy.
If you have any other ways to hide the bar without leaving the red line (when using GMD free) nor buying pro, please leave them here.
Another way, which offers even speedier switching, is to use other capacitive keys to activate recent task by setting long pressing time as low as 0 after installing Xposed Additions http://goo.gl/dP4vwW. This can be done using the free version and will also get rid of the delay. Personally, my setup is as follow:
Short Back to go back, long Back to open recent tasks
Short Menu to switch back to last used app, long Menu to open the regular menu
Long pressing delay is set to 101 (it's hard to get 100 and any number equals to 99 or less will be considered 0, which may be too fast for some people)

Capacitive Buttons acting like Softkeys

Hello, i have a question regarding the capacitive buttons on my OPO. Is there any way to do these things with the capacitive buttons:
* On/off like navbar visible/invisible: Like in Youtube, when a video is fullscreen, the navbar disappears. The capacitive should match the visible/invisible status of the navbar.
* Set the brightness of the cap. buttons to match screen brightness.
Btw im on CM12.1.
Thanks for the help!
I use a xposed module called Chromepie to use Chrome always in fullscreen (hide the button and navbar like on YouTube). But obviously it works only in Chrome. For me it's enough Chrome in fullscreen..
only tasker with secure settings and root privillege can simulate this
set up secure settings and tasker
pick apk from profile
secure settings plugin
Actions
Device settings
Secure
dev navbar option
on or off
will exactly do what you describe

[mini GUIDE] Go Immersive with Edge navigation - NO ROOT

First of, you need to enable full immersive (hide both navbar and status bar) via ADB command described in this article
https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...re-screen-real-estate-no-root-needed-0177297/
Then go to Edge screen settings and download/install Softkey Edge application. For convenience, order the Softkey edge to be first.
Let me know how it goes.
Nice!.... I will try
I tried this and while I like the full immersion I have to wonder if there's really a reason for the edge navigation since the soft keys already show back up if you swipe up from the bottom.
I went with toggle immersive mode remapped on my bixby button..
it's better since we'll have quick option/action to turn on and off the immersive mode.

They probably used either BixBye or bxActions (or some other equivalent) but I have found that those apps cause scrolling lag/dropper frames when granted accessibility rights. I used a combo of GMD Immersive Mode and Navigation Layer and found it worked pretty well without lag issues.

well I made the toggle immersive app using tasker and autotools since I have them.
(in tasker select plug-in > autotools > secure settings > display > immersive mode)
then use bixby remapper app to launch it, just choose one that works for you.
at first I used bixbye app to remap bixby button, but it's accessibility rights and usage
broke my one hand mode setting.
then I use Bixby remapper that still has old accessibility rights mode (without swipe rights)
and it's working fine.. I don't see any scrolling lag .
definitely cool. easy to do. figer sensor also works to bring down the notification panel so I just did the notification. I like my Nav bar.
well I reverted.. this breaks Google voice typing. and Whatsapp looks all broken.

How to enable/disable One-nav button on Lenovo Moto Z2 play?

Hello. In the Moto Z2 play there is a preinstalled app called ''Moto''. In this app there is a toggleable setting that let you choose if you want to enable the navigation bar or if you want to disable the navigation bar (and navigate through gestures on the fingerprint sensor).
I want to toggle this setting through tasker. For example, if I open a certain app, I want the navigation bar to be enabled, while if I open another app, I want the navigation bar to be disabled and use the gestures.
I'm not even sure that this can be done with tasker. I've searched the internet and read about intents, activities, services... But to be honest I didn't understand much.
Can someone help me?
Create some Scene and add simple button. In Task tab create task and using + sign choose Scene -> Show Scene. In the Tap after clicking some button, hit + again search in the panel below for Bar and choose it. You cannot make toggable button that way, but at least you will have two buttons to test on one when bar is hidden and other with showed action.
Then find on google some "toggle tasker button" or just "toggle button code".
Create third button, paste the code with if-then-else statements code and paste both switches from panel, to make bar hide and if else, show.
Good luck!

Hide Navigation Button

Hi, is anyone knows how to hide the nav button on home screen? I don't want to use the navigation gesture as the animation is really weird for me. I'm fine with hiding the nav button, but the button is still there on the home screen.
I have a rooted OP6 with Magisk.
You could use gravitybox xposed, it has option for expanded desktop
What i do is enable gestures in the settings to get rid of the navigation bar, but instead of using the oneplus gestures, i use gesture control from the app store to set up an almost transparent pill. I find i like this better as opposed to just running expanded desktop all the time, because when the keyboard pops up, the nav bar does not come with it.
