Honor 8 problems faced while relocking bootloader and returning to stock EMUI. - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

Hie Guys
Good day
I have an india version of honor 8 FRD-L02 with noghat B340 update (latest in india).
I ran into a problem when i tried to return back to full stock and locked bootloader.
Things i did which didnt helped :
1. Had unlocked Bootloader and TWRP (latest).
2. Taken full backup of my stock EMUI 5.0 rom in twrp.
3. Used custom roms for a while and now while returning back to full stock i restored the old EMUI 5 backup and i was back on EMUI 5 fully functioning.
4. Flashed Stock EMUI 5 recovery and it flashed well.
5. Now i am on stock emui rom and stock recovery now i wanted startup warnings to vanish.
6. I tried to relock bootloader via fastboot and it asked for full wipe...and fone formatted itself via factory reset and on restart no warnings of unlocked phone but the fone booted into Erecovery with a warning that data partition needs to be formatted.
tried formatting but as i reset my fone, the fone goes back to stock recovery and doest start.
but if i unlock bootloader again, the fone boots up fine after the warning message.
Can anyone help me to go back to full stock with no startup warnings.??
thanks

you can try booting into bootloader
flash twrp
format data
boot to bootloader
flash stock recovery
boot to system
(you may still have the warning message as bootlaoder will be in relocked state)

If you want your phone locked and not re-locked, provided that you are starting from nougat and your bootloader is unlocked: use rollback package and then flash an emui 4 firmware image, your bootloader will be locked not relocked

Download the latest firmware from here: http://www.hihonor.com/in/support/
Then using my guide here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/restoring-relocking-bricked-frd-l04-t3666360
Flash it on ur phone. After that u will be on marshmallow. Then do a full update and u will be on Nougat with a locked bootloader.

Re lock bootloader and back to stock.

Hi everyone, please help me I read so much post on xda and I don't know how to re lock or lock the bootloader and back from android 7.0 to 6.0. The only modifications I do to my honor 8 FRD-L04 C567 B360 is I unlocked the bootloader and installed via fastboot TWRP 3.0.2 but this version can't flash only read function is operating. So I flash via fastboot the original recovery for my version extracted from the full package of android 6 MM. So I tried to install the full firmware via dload method but the system tell me is that not the correct version to my phone and I'm sure is the correct version. I still do not re lock the bootloader because I read that some people had a brick left after the re lock process. I need to sell my phone because of I need to pay debts. Please help me to restore my phone as new.

Yes my friend, but first off all, I do the rollback 75 MB aproximelity via dload method, next to do that I have to re lock the bootloader via fastboot with the unlock code. And to finish, I install the full software of Android marshmallow via dload method (make sure that the software is in the micro SD, not in the intern memory) 3.70 GB aproximelity. My phone was like new.
Awesome
Great to hear! I managed to work out my issue with mine! I appreciate your response!

How to wipe nougat from twrp 3.1 berlin

I think im stuck in nougat
i have updated my honor 6x to nougat through firmware finder. now this is my build no BLN-L22C675B310.
i tried to downgrade to MM but there is no roll back package for this build no
so i tried to format and wipe entire ph from twrp but the twrp from LOS download section is not booting even after completely power off then tried to boot into recovery not working. i think its for MM. so i tried twrp 3.1 berlin recovery
this time i can enter into recovery and i format data and wipe everything many times nothing happens after reboot it boots to nougat.
anyone help me

You can be happy that you have still access to the system. So is a lottery with rollback packages (ehm
edit:
How go to MM without rollback package, via TWRP:
1. download twrp for MM, flash him, reboot recovery
2. make a factory reset in twrp, reboot recovery
3. flash full firmware MM (right firmware if not sure is it right don't flash it!!!)
4. reboot recovery, twrp is now replaced from stock recovery
5. tap factory reset in stock recovery
6. reboot, done
Guys, I dont take any responsibility about your device... I always can help you but is really possible to brick your device with this method (...corrupted .zip, unconsciously change zips etc) Ok? Thx

twrp for mm is not working on N. i tried to flash all the MM twrp recoveries they are not booting only twrp for N was working but its not wiping the device.
i have some experience on these recoveries when i was in MM. you can wipe your complete system, data and everything only from twrp recovery available on LOS 13 download section. remaining all twrp will not do the job. so finally we need good twrp for N.

FRP Lock was turned on. You might need to reflash the whole firmware to set it to off. Only then you can tick the OEM Unlock option.

You cant downgrade simply from Nougat to MM unless you have the rollback package for your model. It was there for L21 model but not sure on other models (recently they may have provided the rollback package for other models).
once you have the rolback package, use dload method for that file 1st and then for MM full package.

[Bricked] Honor 8 FRD-L09C432 won't get past 'Honor, powered by Android' screen.

Yesterday my Honor 8 won't boot after I flashed the rollback package to MM. Now I'm totally stuck at the booting logo.
Things I can do:
Boot the phone (stays forever on the blue screen)
Boot into Fastboot to charge the phone
Things I can't do:
Any Fastboot command, instead of Fastboot devices
Get into recovery/erecovery
Can't force update (volume +, volume -, powerbutton)
Note: My bootloader and FRP are locked. Can't unlock them because all the commands are not allowed.
Could someone please help me out. I need suggestions on what to do next.
Did you flashed the MM package after flashing the rollback package?
Also you need to perform a full factory reset if it is stuck at the boot screen. Hold your power button + volume buttons to reboot the device to recovery2. Then perform a full factory reset.

If yes, then perform a factory reset. That will solve your problem.
Edit: sorry, I read you can't get into erecovery. Is the B131 package still on your device? If yes, you should be able to flash it through the dload method.

My model is FRD-L14. Bootloader and FRP are locked.

Forgot to mention the steps:
1. Used the rollback package for FDR-L04 in honor site via force update (dload)
2. Downloaded a MM version for FDR-L14 that i found using Firmware Finder.
3. Tried to do the same with a full OTA with Nougat (also dowloaded from FirmwareFinder) and it failed at 5%
After that, the phone entered in boot loop.

I contacted Huawei support and they were 100% that the FDR-L04 rollback package would work in the FDR-L14 version. They also told me the 04 firmware would work as well but i didn't buy it. That's why i got the MM Full OTA using Firmware Finder.
The reason i was downgrading was that the wifi stopped working (toggle is greyed out) and i read somewhere in the forums that it could be solved by downgrading.
I wish i could return it but i can't.

Reisntalling B385 stock rom to my FRD-L04

Hi guys,
I am currently trying to figure out how to reinstall a clean version of the B385 for my FRD-L04. I have downloaded these two files from the Nougat Update for FRD-L04 Honor 8 (USA):
Full ROM – http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1585/g104/v83098/f1/full/update.zip
Data File – http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...FRD-L04_hw_usa/update_full_FRD-L04_hw_usa.zip
I have tried to flash them both from TWRP, but I always get the error: Updater process ended error 7
Can anyone please guide me through the process and let me know what I'm doing wrong?
I have look for a guide or post where this is detailed, but without luck. Can anyone link me to a guide on how to reinstall the stock firmware in my Honor 8 FRD-L04?
Thanks! :good:
The best way (if you don't want to unlock bootloader) is to flash a downgrade package first, then dload the Marshmallow update and finally your preferred Nougat update though Firmware Finder.

Unlock your bootloader and follow this guide:https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/guide-flashing-unapproved-firmwares-t3668306/
Choose the B385 firmware or any newer firmware available for your region.
So I decided to finally reinstall the stock firmware in my Honor 8 FRD-L04 in B389, and this is where the nightmare began.
- I made a full backup with TWRP just in case and I decided I wanted to start from the earliest firmware possible available.
- I started unrooting my phone using the UnSU zip by Osmosis.
- Then I flash via bootloader the recovery and boot image of the firmware B360.
- I flashed the rollback package from the Huawei official site with the B122 firmware also available at the same place. I saved the rollback package in my root directory in the dload folder, and loaded it with the 3-button method. After this I wasn't able to boot my phone normally, I was stuck in a boot loop. I still continue with the next firmware, the B122, and it was successfully loaded (this also relocked my bootloader).
- It is important to say I clear many times the cache and wipe/erase data through stock recovery options, and also tried to erecover but I wans't able to connect to the WiFi. I guess something was missing (at this point I was already going crazy).
- I was still stucked at a boot loop after loading the B122, so I decided to unlock my bootloader and flash the twrp 3.1.1-1-frd.img
- From there I tried to wipe data and cache and system and everything, but I wasn't able because an error saying unable to mount always appeared.
- After rebooting, since I already had unlocked the bootloader, the initial message prompting: "press power to continue, press for 3 seconds for erecovery, etc..." appeared.
- I enter the erecovery options with the hope it will do something... and it did!!! I could connect this time through WiFi and the system asked to update the firmware and many other things it said at that moment. This was the first time I felt relieved through the night.
- The phone updated perfectly, it started at the firmware B122 and I kept updating it until I reached the B389.
- I unlocked the bootloader again and rooted the phone. And everything is running smooth as silk!
I know this is a very long story, but I just want to get it out there in case anyone is facing the same problem I just passed. Hope this helps someone and brings peace to them! =) Good luck!
I believe B385 is not functional with TWRP. Flash B360 and reboot to recovery. This should go to stock recovery, where you will have to do a factory reset. I got EMUI working, but it refuses to update to any newer version (it does show B380 but doesn't update). Also there should be updates after making that update. The updates did work for other people, so you may be able to have it working.
