Confused...newer updates, with lower number - Mate 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Haven't check FF in a few weeks, pulled it up and found some newer build dates, but lower numbers?
I am currently on NXT-L29C185B580, 03/27/17
On FF, I'm now showing the following:
NXT-L29C185B180, 05/20/17
NXT-L29C185B162, 05/21/17
NXT-L29C185B162, 06/29/17
NEWER build dates, but LOWER rom version numbers??

They are old builds just reposted on the update site.

Thanks...figured so, but since they were older builds, or appeared so, but with newer dates, thought I'd ask.

No KitKat Update? SOLVED

I think I figured out why people aren't receiving the update on the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3.
If you all remember, the previous update (which allowed roaming in Canada) had a build number of JSS15J.I535VRUCNC1. That is the exact same build number for the update that brings us to Android 4.4.2. I am assuming that since the previous update has the same build number, when we check for updates, Verizon thinks we are on the latest update. This is just a guess that I thought I should have some light shed on.

The build number has nothing to do with it. This would not be the first time Verizon has had the wrong build number in one of these PDF documents. People aren't receiving the update because it's not rolling out yet. You can read in the software update instructions PDF linked below that users can manually update starting today if they do it over WiFi. So the normal OTA automatic roll out likely has not begun yet.

No. Bold emphasis is mine. Verizon simply hasn't pushed the update out. It has been 24 hours since the PDF was uploaded. Verizon has a tendency to leave typos in their PDFs. They have done so at least twice since the S3 was released. Verizon is not that ignorant to leave the build number as VRUCNC1.
To be even more technical, let's take it to AOSP names. Our "updated" PDF still reads "JSS15R" for the AOSP name, which is JellyBean 4.3. KitKat 4.4.2 is named "KOT49H" in AOSP. Logic states, this is a typo. Here's the Factory Images for Nexus devices, to use as a reference for AOSP names per OS.

Update to 4.4.2 successful for me
I, too, was fooled by the NC1 update. What I forgot to do, which Tech Support (live chat) reminded me, was to check for an additional software update after the NC1 update. Sure enough, the 4.4.2 update was waiting to be downloaded and installed. The 4.4.2 baseband version/build number are I535OYUDNE1.
Oh--and it's rootable using Towelroot! Worked like a charm for me.

How to upgrade Huawei P8

Hello Experts,
I am new to Huawei and just bought a Huawei P8 which has software version GRA-L09V100R001C469B111. Googling makes me think it is an old version of software due to the last 4 digits of the build (B111), but I have not found a clear way to upgrade the telephone.
The Updater utility does not find any available upgrade. So, I would like to know if I can upgrade it to the latest version and how. Should I do it in steps, meaning loading different versions of software until I reach the last one? Or I could directly install the last one? Any way, where could I find those versions?
Thanks,
Rafael

LG Q6+, looking for the proper stock ROM

I have an LG Q6+, M700AN. It's the version we have in Russia. Not sure about other countries that have the same ROM index.
Currently the Android version is 7.1.1 with the security update of September 1st, 2017.
I know that European ROMs receive regular updates and even Android version upgrades, but not the AN version.
So I started looking for other ROM versions and found this site (lg-firmwares com) with a lot of firmwares for M700.
So I'd like to know what would be the proper ROM index for the Q6+ dual-sim with NFC support, so I won't brick my phone.

Cool! And just to be clear, do you have a 64GB dual-sim with NFC?
Sorry, i thought you were meaning custom ROMs.
Ok, so I found out that the M700AN hardware is pretty similar to M700DSN.
I flashed the most recent firmware dated February 2018 and it's working fine.
Does anybody here own M700DSN and could check this link?
Code:
csmg.lgmobile.com 9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=
There should be ":" between "com" and "9002"
You'll need to type in your IMEI after the equals sign.
Using my IMEI for the M700AN model that is being sold on the CIS market, I get nothing. It's just rubbish.
Maybe M700DSN could give a more verbose result. There should be a link to the latest firmware,
In case it's there, then there's a chance of keeping M700AN up to date using M700DSN updates.

The Firmwares are located on the LG Website and IMEI is not required to Download the firmware files as far i know.
I have M700DSK and the latest FW is 16FEB2018 on 1 Jan 2018 Patch so i dont think that more recent software is available
Can the FW be flashed on Diffrent Varient Without Unlocking the Bootloader (Using LG Suite) ..?

Thanks.
I am a little bit confused.
if (stable == final release)
what is STABLE mean? as I know during software development(maybe not for Nokia), after several Beta versions, there may be RC1, RC2 ... (Release Candidate), and the final release.
or there will be a final release later?
I want to know because my phone is a Chinese version, and I update it to PIE Beta, and I got Pie update, if the version I got is an official release, that is to say this is a way to convert it to a global one without unlocking bootloader.

Yes, 00WW_3_22C is what you refer to as final release, and it's come after the different Developer Preview (Beta) versions (DP1, DP2, etc.).
(Although it is not "final" as in "definitive", because more updates will follow until Android Q is out. But it is the "stable" version you're looking for).
If you want to keep it converted to global, make sure you follow this thread so that you don't have trouble with OTA updates, network and SKUID. I'm not following the process personally but I believe you'll eventually need to root your phone.

I see there only the: Version WW-15.1616.1809.48 and not the version you specified WW-15.1616.1809.48-0, you probably mean the version WW-15.1616.1809.48, but there are already since 2018.11.13

If you don't root the phone, OTA works.
New update: 15.1630.1811.32
At the moment it is OTA only.
ROG LED now can be used for notifications. I don't know of the other fixes.
Just downloaded it and extracted the boot.img, this evening I will flash it and root
My current version is Version WW_ZS600KL_15.1630.1811.32_0 (19/12/2018) this took a few manual scans to automatically download this. While browsing the site today i see a newer update version WW.15.1618.1810.77 (20/12/2018) however the version number is lower than the one i already have . I guess im currently up to date based on version but based on date am i out? also does anyone know how long it takes for the phone to receive the updates without manually scanning?

I think they messed up. 1811.32 is the latest version. Unless there was something wrong with it and they did a rollback.
