I have a Asus T100Tam that originally had windows 10 on it, and I installed android 6.0 OS onto it.
I want to revert back to windows 10, but I have no idea how to. I installed two different versions of windows(to make sure it wasn't the windows software) onto a usb with rufus. when I select the usb as my boot device it goes straight to the bios every time.
I'm using Android-x86 6.0 rc1 and GNU GRUB version 2.02 beta 2
The usb device shows up when I bring up boot options, But when I select the usb it goes straight to the Bios
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried everything I can and this is my last resort.

I already did all of this. My problem is when i select my usb as a boot device it goes straight to the bios. I've tried to mount two different versions of windows, and I've tried two different iso mounting software( Rufus, and Microsoft media tool) and it goes straight to BIOS.

The way Windows is installed on the tablets are really different than how it's installed on the PC solely because of the difference between the unrestricted space for the PC as opposed to the restricted space on the tablet.
It took me a little time to figure this out for my Asus tablet...
I'll do a little a little searching for the URL bookmark i know i have in my browser.
Websites for important items, that I may have to refer back to, i always bookmark it.
It does involve RUFUS and the different settings required in it as well as the Windows 8/8.1/10 x86 (since the 32-bit OS is the only ARCH that will install).
I'll post it as soon as I locate it.

A friend of mine that I gave a tablet to left it in a hot car and now it is bootlooping. She has a bunch of photos and documents that were written on the tablet that she would like to get back. The only trouble is that this tablet is one of those Chinese Action ATM7029 clones with little to no information on the internet about them. I figured out the combos to get into the stock recovery and do have access to SD cards to load recovery images onto it. ADB bridge / debugging was never turned on in the tablet so going into recovery does not create an ADB link. Here are the details:
Device: FastTouch 10" 8gb
Android: 4.2.2
Processor: ATM7029
Memory: 8gb flash / 1gb ram
ADB Enabled: No, USB Debugging was never turned on
Recovery: Accessible, but only stock version
SD Slot: yes, 8 and 32gb SD Cards are available to be used
Computers and Operating systems: I have a Mac with 10.8 with ADK 'installed', access to a windows 7 machine available
(Amazon link to the device: amazon_com/gp/product/B00ECKG0XK/)
Here is what I have done:
1) Got into recovery
2) Tried wiping cache and rebooting, still stuck
3) Tried ADB from a Mac machine, not recognized (ADB was not turned on in tablet)
4) Looked for any sort of recovery for the device. Sketchy possibles, no direct compatible found
5) Posted here.
Here is what I want to do:
1) Get the files off (if possible)
2) Get the device working, even if that requires wiping the files out (if possible)
Can anyone point me to a CWM or TWRP that would work with this device and let me form an ADB link to backup with? Even if the recovery ran out of ramdisk and didn't install that would be enough. I really want to get those files back out before doing dastardly things to the device. Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.
Hi!
I can find nothing useful about that device on XDA. It is possible its suffered a hardware failure from the extreme heat and may be unrecoverable.
However, Please ask in the following general thread. Perhaps you will find some help.

Thanks for the advice. I wondered if I should post it there first. Will anyone be mad if I just copy paste that over?

That's exactly where I would post your question. ?
Hope you find answers.....it can be a challenge on obscure devices.
Well here I have a wonderful problem, I have two devices, according to the working one and cpu z:
4x ARM cortex A9 @1.42 ghz
revision r3p0
Rockchip RK3066
Model rk3188
Manufacturer Zowee
Android version 4.4.2
bootloader unknown
java vm Dalvik 1.6.0
kernel 3.0.36+ (eng.candy.20150403.110733)
The device that has the problem is the exact same model and all, however, after plugging it to the AC current, it tries to boot up but enters into recovery mode, none of the options work at all, looking into youtube I found out that I can extract the firmware, so far so good, but, I can't use that method because RKROMDUMPER and RKAndroid_v1.29 need the tablet to be plugged and there is the problem, the faulty tablet does not load in that mode while plugged to the computer.
So I was left with the option of getting into recovery mode and attempt to update from external storage, so far the only "Firmware" or "ROM" I've got is the one I extracted from the working tablet, I have, backup.img, boot.img, kernel.img and so on, the biggest one is the system.img which is near 6GB size.
I really don't know how to proceed from this point, do I have anything usable with those .img files? I have tried downloading a 4.4 Android rom, the recovery tried to load the files contained in the zip folder yet the loader showed messages such as, bad footer, or invalid image or always a denial message of whatever sort you may imagine.
So, I am stuck, reading further more I discovered that there are other methods or even other roms that can be loaded, but the Zowee guys have near to nothing to work with.
Could you please help me with this? Are the .img parts usable or in some way "joinable" like merge them into a single file or directory?
The device was not rooted, so I am left with only the chance of fresh installing from sd card and nothing else.
Thanks in advance.

I have recently inherited an Asus TF101 EEEpad and have spent ages trying to find a way to root, install a custom ROM or a lightweight linux on it. Most of the links on this forum seem to have expired or don't work. I got root to work eventually with Kingo Root (at least the Root Checker app says the device is rooted). TWRP crashes frequently and reports 'no recovery partition found' if I try to flash.
Also, I don't seem to be able to reach APX mode. I have tried holding down the power and vol up buttons, but there is no sign of the device when i do 'adb devices' in native OS X or my Windows virtual machine.
Has anyone flashed this device / installed a new OS recently? I would like to run Lubuntu or maybe Arch with LXDE if this is possible...
Any pointers welcome.

Hi.
I'm in the same case of you.
Try to find older file to be able to make the dual boot possible on this old tablet.
But in vain all interessting files are not reachable or i have got "error 404" not found on the download pages.
Try to contact the creator of the OLIFE script and i'm waiting.
if you have news on it tell me.
I will try to apply a second MOD - ADD a HDD on it = like a member done before - the pictures are not avaible but i have understand the process and i like to make DIY.
And another MOD = integrate a 3G or 4G key in it.
Best regards.
+1
Did anyone manage to get anywhere with this?
I had issues with APX too, but after installing Universal Naked Drivers on Win 10 I managed to get TWRP on and then KatKiss 6.0 (Android) on.
Really interested in learning how to get Ubuntu Touch or any distro really on if anyone's still listening to this thread.
This might be of interest to anyone still looking to put a Linux Distro on to the TF101, PostmarketOS: https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/ASUS_Eee_Pad_Transformer_(asus-tf101) which is based upon Alpine I think. Instructions here: https://github.com/antonialoytorrens/TF101-linux-images/blob/master/README.md

Yes, indeed as you say. I do maintain this repository and a Linux distro on this tab is the way to go. It allows you to install updated software and bring it back to life. The GPU is not working, unfortunately, but it's very useful if you want to do lightweight tasks. You have to do some tweaks to get there but it's worth the result if you want to tinker with it.
By the way, I have collected as much as possible about the TF101 (before XDA migrated to the new infrastructure) and I uploaded it here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/tf101-linux-images/files/

I don't have a TV Box but, it looks like you may have a Chromecast.
Your best bet is to take a look at, and post a question if needed, on the following thread.

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.

If your phone is rooted you may have some chance, but if you haven't used the developer options before I think it will be hard to allow your computer with the broken screen.
Your best option is to go to a mobile repair shop, they have propiertary software sometimes that will allow them to recover some kind of files, at a price of course.
Good luck!
