Hello guys.. I got htc11 today and I realised that boost+app Drain my battery more than facebook ap...
What should i do? Should i delete it?
Check screenshot below.
Thnk you all.
Delete it! Immediately.
It does not help you at all and you'll be astonished at how much extra battery you have at the end of each day.
Get rid of it - use Greenify if you must.
Delete Boost+ preferences and see if that solves anything. Boost+ doesn't even show up in my battery stats, shouldn't use this much power under normal circumstances.

This App actually DIDN'T come pre-installed on my phone, thank goodness. I got it off Google to try and was immediately hit with battery decay.
Go into your settings, apps, storage, clear data, uninstall should get you back to idle factory app.

Thx forgot that choice. Appears in stats only using 0 to .2% not bad but every little bit helps. Not so sure this type app is that helpful with newer phones and operating sys.

I don't think HTC spends resources on an app that isn't useful... Enabled, disabled, I didn't notice any difference on the short term but in the long run...who knows.
Still testing it, but so far I like Boost+. It does seem to keep unwanted apps from running in the background and doesn't use up battery. Greenify was no help on my M8 without root.

Also seeing large amount of wakelocks from gcoreflp in Unbounce... it says safe to unbounce so i did....guess i'll see what happens
seems like the latest play services update doesnt rape my battery so much but also seems to mess up a little easier when I try to disable some of those pesky all-the-time running services that I don't want. all the "safe to unbounce" wakelocks dont seem to be really bugging me that much
Just the dang location polling I cant stand I killed everything location. sacrifices

Em it's obviously Google play services (updates, play store, location, etc.) Which are the biggest battery rapists. You can find out by just tapping on it

Yes, give it a day and then look at held awake and app usage. That should tell you what's causing the problem. You can post screen shots here of those and we should be able to give you an idea of what's going on

ok sweet thanks a lot!
its google play services.. its at the top of the list, but shouldn't be there at all. its been an issue with many other nexus 5 users this past month or so. i even had it. people are finding several ways to fix it. i fixed it by installing the disable service app, and removing all the location oriented stuff from google play services.

it should be even lower. mine was at 5% when causing trouble.
As said, use gsam.... Let it go from 100 to about 10 percent and sift through it. Post screens that look odd.
Don't reboot, Gsam will reset if you do.
Your screens are for an hour....can't tell much from that. Need a long timeframe.
Good luck!
Oh, and you need gsam root companion as well, to see held awake times and wakelocks. Get it from play store, run it after you download it.

true, this stuff happened after I factory reset it, I'm probably going to do a clean install of 4.4.3
did a factory reset, clean install of 4.4.3.... and it didn't work. well it was fine for day one, but crap again today.
wtf is the problem with Google play services?? it's really pissing me off
p.s. screenshots are for only one hour, but I used my phone for like 5 hours from before with the same amount of wakes between screen ons..
I'm willing to bet its related to what seems to be horrible signal strength.... Combined with location services. (High accuracy I'm betting? Or possibly on battery saver?)
So an app, or apps are trying to get location and having trouble cause your signal is so weak. (Trying to reach radio towers)
Or, its just apps trying to access data...social apps in particular, or anything that automatically receives info/data.
Anyway....to see if I'm on the right track.....first step is to turn location services off completely and see how it is.
If its no different....scenario 2.
For a few hours to test....keep location off and disable data. You'll still get texts and phone calls ...but that's it. See how that is for a few hours.
Good luck! ?

I don't think it's signal strength, becsuse both of these days I was at school, in the same spot. but yeah I'll try turning off location (it's on battery saver btw) and report back on how things go. thanks!

I actually think it's location, I did a short test turning it off then back on to battery saving, and you can see that it made a difference. the big gap where there is no awake is when I turned off location, and then right till the end you can see the phone keeps waking up after I enabled location again. I don't understand how it can go from no wakes between screen on to like 1000 wakes between screen on in just a day.. like wtf
I also have location off for facebook and messenger, and basically everything else except camera and Google, but I've always had location on for them including yesterday, so I don't think they're the problem

no I saw that, but everything was perfectly fine yesterday, I want to try to fix the problem first. if nothing works then I'll get the app, but I don't get why I would have to use an app to disable my location cuz of a troublesome app, like what the hell is needing my location so much???

it still happens when location is disabled. i dont know whats up with google play services this past month, but it has bothered many. it started when they were updating the play services and added many more abilities and permissions to it. and its not just a normal app btw, it controls much of what goes on now with the os, even updating many things in the background.

Anybody know of a sure way to disable this thing? I have unlimited everything and I have absolutely no use for an app that sits on my drop-down menu telling me how many texts and minutes i have left. Plus it keeps trying to "diagnose my system". Yes, I know my battery is at 50%, stop telling me my battery health is low, thats what the battery icon is for!

Well you can go into the app and go to settings to get rid of the persistent notification. As far as totally deleting it, we will have to wait for root!
You can buy the app called Package Disabler on the app store to disable all unwanted apps.
I used package disabler, and Deb located my phone. Great battery results after that.

Thanks, that worked for me
I know this is a common problem, but there are so many discussions about different bugs and builds and so much misinformation, i had to start a new discussion. I'm using EMUI 5.0 Android 7.0 b389.
EMUI kills power consuming background apps by default after about 10 minutes. Doesnt matter if the screen is locked or not.
The setting 'Close excessively power-intensive apps' does nothing, it makes absolutely no difference. 'Power-intensive app history' and 'History of closed apps' are empty. But when I use the tool 'Battery -> Optimize' it still shows: 'x power consuming background apps closed', and the services gets killed. I suspect EMUI performs this optimization by default from time to time.
Could somebody with a similar behaviour try the Optimze feature and see, if you can replicate the results? I've tried every possible setting and by now I'm pretty sure, this is a bug.
Second question: Who solved a similar problem by rooting the device and either:
a) Putting the service (for me it is Whatsapp) in the system app folder
b) Disabling the Phone Manager. Here im wondering, if there are negative consequences doing this. Like settings disappearing (e.g in the Battery menu) or faulty RAM management or whatever.
Nobody has Problems with notifications or background processes anymore on EMUI 5.0? A response if everything works fine, like Whatsapp notifications, would be great too. Maybe I have a faulty device.

It's turned off, but the app is killed even when the screen stays on, so thats not the problem. Whatsapp is installed fresh. I even did a factory reset and just installed Whatsapp, but the problem remains.
Would you mind trying something for me, to go under:
settings -> battery -> optimize
And see if it says something like "1 power consuming background app closed.
If it doesnt say that, then you should see a green checkmark.
Also is your whatsapp power consumption high? Mine is at 28 mAh right now for the last hour, and EMUI seems to decide, thats too much.

I'm not sure what u meant by optimize but the second I hit it, it killed all the apps on my phone including my services like LastPass and my live wallpaper.
Also I've added my WhatsApp consumption below. Doesn't seem like a lot to me.

Thanks for trying that. That means, your phone has also recognized these background apps as power-consuming. But the difference ist, thats what happens to my phone every 10 minutes. Maybe my device is faulty for real.
Ive tried every possible setting, factory resets and new installations. Ive even disabled Power Genie and Phone Manager over adb. Nothing works. Man, this just sucks.

How do we prevent Samsung from killing alarm clock apps? Mine didn't go off today. I had specifically whitelisted it so that it couldn't be put to sleep. What else should I do? Any ideas? It's really frustrating... Samsung is so aggressive with that sometimes.

Really? Once I chose to not optimize it, it removed it from the list of apps that I had manually chosen to "never sleep" so I figured it just excluded that possibility entirely. That's... Weird!
