Google Play Services gives error

I have a Tinji Mobile i9300
Modelnr: GT-i9300
Android Versie: 4.1.1
Kernel Versie: 3.0.13
Buildnr: ALPS.ICS2.MP.V1.5
I installed foursquare. :good:
When i run this app, it ask for Google Play Services
Ok, i download this app.
But when it start to install, I get an error: :crying:
"Incompatible with other applications that use the same shared user id"
What can I do?
And second question:
I got no experience with android and rooting, ...
Can I root this phone?
And how does it work?

I installed other apps from the store, and they works fine.
Just foursquare needs Google Play Services
And when I want to install it it gives an error :crying:

Same problem with me. I'm using Samsung Galaxy Duos with custom ROM and Fsquare cannot be installed because google play is missing, and google play cannot be installed because it is incompatible with some app.
I suppose it is a feature instead of an error since several forums talking about the uselessness of gplay services and it seems no other app needed this than fsquare... so I think my rom developer implemented some kind of blocking. Maybe this is the same with the other handset

So, the solution is not working for me. It seems google play services is really some kind of spyware from google and need a lot more effort to enable on a handset with custom rom... if anyone has an idea (even about what the hell is this spyware) let me know please

[ROM] Android 4.4.2 debranded for Huawei Ascend G6-U00 (dual SIM), EMUI 3.0

Hi,
This is a mod of a 4.4.2 EMUI 3.0 ROM that works perfectly on my Huawei Ascend G6-U00. Dual SIM support. It is an improvement over an earlier 4.4.2 version that had Caller ID and other issues. I have no time to work on this ROM too much as I needed to have my mobile working, so I am posting it as is - bugs listed below.
No GApps, needs flashing separately, although Google Play framework is present (surprisingly).
Serious issues:
None noticed.
Minor issues:
A 3G/4G switch is present in Settings but, naturally, don't expect 4G to work on a 2G/3G-only phone - the max you will get will be HSPA+ irrespective of the switch setting.
The original FlyIME Chinese/Latin keyboard is the only one bundled. Other keyboards can surely be downloaded from Play Store or flashed. A few attempts to add Google keyboard to the ROM failed but maybe someone with more knowledge feels like incorporating e.g. the AOSP keyboard in the ROM and remove 40+ MB FlyIME (and all its subfolders)?
A few unnecessary .so files might remain in /system/lib after junk apps were gone. They have no impact on the system but feel free to inspect and remove them as appropriate.
Kinguser app for root management. I did not succeed with installing Superuser or SuperSU on my previous version of a similar ROM and now did not have time nor motivation to experiment with this one. Kinguser works well, though. It is not the latest version but will update on first run.
Boot animation is for a different resolution. Will benefit from replacing to a more decent one.
Credits should go to a now-unknown user who posted this ROM on a Russian-language forum several months ago. I no longer have the URL, nor even forum title. I only did minor modifications and junk removal.
By far this is the best ROM I have had on G6-U00, and if someone took an hour or two to polish out the minor issues above, this would make it an ultimate ROM for this model.

Hi ! I'm so happy to read this post. I'm from Venezuela and the money is an issue here to buy a phone, i saw the G6 in Amazon last year so i just bought it immediatly, it looked so good for the price, in some way it was too good to be true but that's another history. I've been looking for a custom room since January and this is the first one that i found in a non chinnese-russiand site, i just wanted to say thanks i'll try it to see how it works, but i also have a question: is there a way to really install the apps in the sd card in this phone?, i tried for weeks and i couldn't do it, i just can't do the partitions on the sd card, i guess the OS doesn's allow it or something like that, if you can give some advice it wold be very nice.

[Solved]How to get Google Play working on China models?

Check your EMUI verison before proceed to solutions. EMUI4 and EMUI5 may use different apps!
This is for EMUI 4 (Android 6).
I know many of you guys are using China variants, like BLN-AL10, AL20 and etc. By default, EMUI is not coming with full Google services, how do you get Google Contacts Sync working?
Solution:
Install the Google Contacts Sync Adapter from HUAWEI app store. Its version is 6.0-xxxx, DO NOT use latest version of 7.1.2.

Background
In order to get Google services working on China variants, you need to install following apks:
1. Google Play Services (EMUI comes with an old one, like version 9.xx)
2. Google Play Store
3. Google Contacts Sync Adapter 7.1.2

I've got a BLN-AL10 with B170 stock ROM and with above 2 apks, I can access Google Play Store and install apps, but all Google Contacts are not shown up in my phone. I checked through Account settings and found it showed "Synced".

Just did some quick search and have found that Mate 8 and other HUAWEI phones China variants share the same issue, seems EMUI is broken or something, so that Google Contact Sync is not working on latest EMUI...
I'll try to downgrade to previous version... Meanwhile, blame HUAWEI for its bad software...

I found a way to fix it: there was an app also called Google Contact Sync in HUAWEI app store, version 6.0-xxxxx. I uninstall latest 7.1.2 and install that 6.0 from app store, the contacts are there.

I am using this to solve my issue with contact sync-
no problem since 40 days now with this. Dont update the version even if you get it on playstore or hi app.

When i am trying to install gmsinstaller this shows this message ""the parser did not find certificates in the installation packag"". Get it from Hiapp..but there is nothing in hiapp. Please guide me step by step procedure i'll be very thankfull

Gear S3 with the Android P

Is anyone using their Gear S3 with a phone running the Android P dev preview? Been trying to connect mine and it constantly force closes. Just want to see if it's just me or if it is a problem with the app not working with P.

You're not alone, I've contacted Samsung support several times about the incompatibility issue in their app, but it seems like nobody in Samsung cares, I either don't get responses at all, or they just tell me to wait for updates (which would probably take years considering how Samsung handles this kind of stuff.

Seems like a stupid coding problem to me, and a fix would be pretty easy by just changing several lines, but unfortunately they don't seem to worry about problems in their apps, so... The choices are to wait, switch to Android Wear, or roll back to Android O.

I kept having this issue and finally realized the issue. Android deprecated the hidden API Samsung references (IPackageObserver). This hidden API only works if the app is a system app, so it is weird that Samsung has this. Maybe it makes the experience a little nicer on Samsung devices since everything can be done in the background, but when it causes crashes it is not ideal. All you need to do to resolve this issue is edit the smali file for com.samsung.android.app.twatchmanager.packagecontroller.PackageControllerFactory.
The method makeInstance() needs changed to false (So it doesn't try hidden API). After that you will have to re-sign Samsung Gear, Accessory, and Plugin APK's because they use a shared user ID. One issue I noticed is due to having to re-sign the APK Samsung Pay was giving me issues. Hopefully Samsung resolves this issue soon.

don't do it...your gear smart watch or fitness device will become useless. Requested a rollback from Google back to android O 19 hours ago and haven't gotten it yet. Cant even sideload the previous android O.....

There is a way to get it working I did it with my pixel 2 xl on DP1 when it was released I flashed the factory image while removing the -w command from the script, this preserved my data and I was able to continue using my watch.

Just grab the Oreo image from Google and use fastboot to flash it. You might can even get by without having to factory reset the phone doing it that way if you just remove the "-w" from the fastboot command.

Don't think I can do that on a locked bootloader. Got a Verizon phone.

Yea your right. Forgot Verizon have there bootloaders locked down. My girlfriend had the original Pixel that ended up being the Verizon model. I ran into the exact same problem on her phone with the Oreo beta. The roll back kept failing to download. I think I ended up joining the beta and exiting it about 10 to 15 times before it successfully downloaded.

My Tmo Gear s3 is working perfectly fine on my p2xl on android P, I had it setup before taking the P Beta OTA.

Not working on Android p beta 2. Samsung does not give a f*** about their users.

Samse issue here, it'd be good if there is an alternative app

Why would Samsung support software that is not meant for general use and aimed at developers? Google even warns you it is not to be used as a daily driver and all your software may not work. Stop being so entitled. Support for P will come in due time, probably during one of the later builds that finalize the APIs if the O preview was anything to go by.

Mine worked too (including Samsung Pay), until i lost bluetooth connection, and to "re-pair". Couldn't reconnect without going back to Android O. Gear App kept crashing.

My Gear S3 is working fine with my Pixel XL with Android P DP2. All notifications and fitness related features are working. Also, Samsung Pay is working on the watch. The only problem is you cannot open Samsung Pay anymore in Gear app. It will only show "Installing Samsung Pay (Gear Plug-in)". Samsung store and Samsung health are both okay.
I came from Oreo 8.1 with Gear paired completely with my phone. I just opt in Android P DP2 and update it.

So is it if you already had everything set up it works fine on the beta?

App updated asking for newer version, want old apk to appear as updated new apk

Ive been using older verison of venmo for about a year now without issue don't want the newer verisons and last month got an update that forces to update or cant login to my account.
"your account is not supported by this app version. Please update the venmo app by visiting the app store."
Wanted to see if there was a way to mirror a version number through a customized apk to show that its a newer version but still using a previous version to bypass this login block, from what I can tell the login block isn't central to their servers more so it noticing its an older version and asking for the update.
probably willing to pay for assistance in modifying a previous app or finding a way to bypass it noticing I'm using an older version.
This sort of update isn't central to having the newest version because an older version from last nov still seems to work but id like to continue using the older version but pass validator that it is a newer version.

No guarantees but, try resigning the app...
The following is only an example of one that will do the job...

... Resigning an app will sever it from the Play Store and you'll need to uninstall the old one and install the resigned one.
But some apps have a security feature that, ultimately, prevents an app from working if it has a different signature. Just keep in mind that, when using this method, many apps will work and many won't.
This is the best guidance I can think of.
