Hi
Same problem with me. I'm using Samsung Galaxy Duos with custom ROM and Fsquare cannot be installed because google play is missing, and google play cannot be installed because it is incompatible with some app.
I suppose it is a feature instead of an error since several forums talking about the uselessness of gplay services and it seems no other app needed this than fsquare... so I think my rom developer implemented some kind of blocking. Maybe this is the same with the other handset

Look at this thread for a solution
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38691840

So, the solution is not working for me. It seems google play services is really some kind of spyware from google and need a lot more effort to enable on a handset with custom rom... if anyone has an idea (even about what the hell is this spyware) let me know please

[Q] No Google Maps pre-installed in ICS R4.2

Hi all,
I just installed the ICS R4.2 into my Samsung S phone, by following the link below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398223
However, it does not come with Google Maps. And trying to install Google Maps from market, but not able to due to unknown GT-I9000 mobile device. I believe that was due to my installation of new ROM.
Any idea how i can get Google Maps?
Thanks.

[Q] Desire Paranoid 4.1.2 apk not compatible

My English is not the best, but I hope you undersstand and can help to solve my problem:
Phone: HTC Desire
ROM: ParanoidAndroid 4.1.2
I cannot install some apps that I had on my device before (such as runtastic, glympse ...). Play Store shows "not compatible". If I try to install it directly (I have the runtastic apk-File) the device says "not installed".
In some forums I have read about "DPI Changer" and "DPI must have 240". The app DPI Changer says that I have 240 (that is usualy riquired). So I have no idea what to do ...I want some apps back :crying:
EDIT:
News from google: all the concerning apps (glympse, runtastic, endomondo ...) need access to google maps. It seems that this access doesn´t work either on this ROM or only on my phone. This is the problem to be solved.
Please do not double post it's against the rules.
Also, you don't need to post 10 times to get a answer. Just need to have some patience

[Q] Incompatibility to install app after rooting

Hi all,
Probably this is already answered question but I could not find a specific answer to this question.
I registered a device with google and during registration the device was from factory unrooted.
I had since then rooted the device.
Is there any way, google play can find out that my device is rooted and utter "This app is incompatible with your device." ? or it is just that the app would have been incompatible even without rooting ?
In other words, has google play anything to do with detecting the device is rooted or not to find application compatibility ?
My previous ASUS ME375CG was okay and installed this BOS app but now on my ME175CG (both are intel based tabs) google play says the app is incompatible.
Also how can I find out with new google play what "exactly" has tipped google play to say that the app is incompatibile ?
Thanks all

[Solved]How to get Google Play working on China models?

Check your EMUI verison before proceed to solutions. EMUI4 and EMUI5 may use different apps!
This is for EMUI 4 (Android 6).
I know many of you guys are using China variants, like BLN-AL10, AL20 and etc. By default, EMUI is not coming with full Google services, how do you get Google Contacts Sync working?
Solution:
Install the Google Contacts Sync Adapter from HUAWEI app store. Its version is 6.0-xxxx, DO NOT use latest version of 7.1.2.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70903719&postcount=6
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70903832&postcount=7
Background
In order to get Google services working on China variants, you need to install following apks:
1. Google Play Services (EMUI comes with an old one, like version 9.xx)
2. Google Play Store
3. Google Contacts Sync Adapter 7.1.2
Issue
I've got a BLN-AL10 with B170 stock ROM and with above 2 apks, I can access Google Play Store and install apps, but all Google Contacts are not shown up in my phone. I checked through Account settings and found it showed "Synced".

This is for EMUI 5 (Android 7).
Solution: (credits to @Mammuth1)

The final solution for Honor 6x BLN-AL40 (Android 7.0 EMUI 5.0):
1. Clean start: reinstall stock ROM over eRecovery
2. Install Google Installer (same here)
3. Install GMS Core
4. Restart

Just did some quick search and have found that Mate 8 and other HUAWEI phones China variants share the same issue, seems EMUI is broken or something, so that Google Contact Sync is not working on latest EMUI...
I'll try to downgrade to previous version... Meanwhile, blame HUAWEI for its bad software...
use the 4.4 version, it Works for me. get it on apk mirror

I found a way to fix it: there was an app also called Google Contact Sync in HUAWEI app store, version 6.0-xxxxx. I uninstall latest 7.1.2 and install that 6.0 from app store, the contacts are there.
I am using this to solve my issue with contact sync-
no problem since 40 days now with this. Dont update the version even if you get it on playstore or hi app.

Can I replace Google Playstore with another version?

Hi. I have read that there is a lot of stuff that can be done with a rooted phone.
I rooted my Galaxy S7 (SM-G930T), Baseband version G930TUVS9CSC1, Android version 8.0 (Oreo) with one of the guides I found here.
If I uninstall updates of the Playstore it goes down to version 10. I would like to have version 8 or lower. Is that even possible? Can I uninstall the current Playstore and install the one from Nougat for example? Do I have to replace the Google Play Services app too? Would it still work?
If it can be done, could someone please guide me on how to do it?
Thank you
You can flash any playstore app doesn't matter if you're rooted or not. It will replace the existing play store. No need to flash something else. You can find various versions of play store e.g. here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...2-android-apk-download/download/?forcebaseapk
