I have an ancient device which I want to root to put some life into it. I tried rooting with Kingroot and the phone got rooted but my device restricts root authorization. How do I bypass this restriction?

you can use kies..kies is samsung official tool for up-to-date and backup device
As far as I'm concerned, there's no way to backup your firmware without root access.
This action is a quite low-level action because firmware is basically what runs on your device and no manufacturer would allow this without rooting.
Doubtful
You might be able to find some firmware online but it depends really some firmwares get leaked you might be lucky to be honest but it is doubtful.

Hi.
I have one sony xperia u with android 2.3.7 and i want to simply root this phone and if this happened without loosing any data.
I have already try these steps
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x65ua5x4sMc
but at step 12 it seems like the mobile doesn't response at all and i don't know how to install the step 4(android sdk software)
And i try even that without any results.
I believe it need to unlock the bootloader so i can proceed with root but because i can't install the android sdk software the xperia u doesn't communicate with my pc.
before you go in the developers only forum find your device in the search box..if you cant do that go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1515
for rooting your XU try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
and you dont need to unlock your bootloader to root a sony device
Already try rhat with no success so......
Maybe because I can't install adb or android sdk with success....
I don't know....

WARNINGS & DISCLAIMERS
Proceed with caution and at your own risk - I am not responsible if your phone self destructs, gets bricked, or melts.
Please keep in mind that both these methods will yield ROOT only - as of know there is no way to unlock bootloader on AT&T
Rooting and any other modifications to your phone will void your warranty - do not root if you do not know what you are doing.
Rooted devices will not be able to receive OTA updates. You may have to unroot and restore stock in order to accept updates.
How to check if you tripped the root counter
Once your device is rooted via either method - the device secret service menu will show that you are rooted.
To check:
1. Go to dialer
2. enter 3845#*850#
3. Scroll to and click on LG RCT
4. click Display Results
Here you will see that it shows the device is rooted
Once the device is unrooted - the setting will be reset to No Root

My G3 from AT&T is on order and should be in my hands in a week or so. What firmware version comes with the phone out of the box? Should I root immediately to avoid any patches from being installed?
My reason for asking is based on my experience with the Moto X. I realized too late that accepting the standard upgrade to 4.4.2 via OTA would eliminate any chance of rooting. I want to make sure that I don't fall into that trap again.

Are there any warranty software's like Samsung's Knox on this device? If so does rooting with towel root trip it?

According to a friend of mine, towelroot will not trip the QFuse, only the root counter. If you read post #2 on this thread that issue is addressed.

QFuse will only be tripped if the recovery or rom is changed... The root counter will reset to No Root if you use the unroot method I posted
Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
Does it also remove the line about the first time you rooted? Also, when you say Rom is changed does that mean debloating/removing carrieriq/using xposed will trip it?

I rooted the phone using towel root - used Root Explorer to uninstall Bloat - installed Xposed and G3 TweakBox... then I checked to root checker in the hidden menu and it showed that it was rooted but the QFUSE was intact... then I unrooted using the method i posted.. Not only was the phone unrooted, traces of xposed installation were removed, and the root check in the hidden menu showed No Root with no additional information - also the QFUSE was still intact.
This is my experience and I have tested it twice. However... as always... Your mileage may vary...
Many thanks. I hate to sound like anoob, but this lg is new to me (coming from a gs3 where I avoided Knox counters until I sold the phone).
Working here. Thanks!
So let me ask you guys/gals is the bootloader locked than? Just need to find out before I go purchasing this phone through AT&T, thanks.

The bootloader is locked... Although you can root and install xposed, run root apps, and Debloat it's not likely that the bootloader will be unlocked anytime soon... So no custom recovery and no rooms.

Hello,
I have searched all of over the internet for my phones root with no success whatsoever.
- Kingroot does work on the phone but when I reboot my phone it looks up my bootloader and tells me that I have flashed an unauthorised rom and that I should contact cricket. I then had to flash the stock rom with kies.
- I have tried to flash all sorts of recoveries including TWRP and CWM recoveries. It just gives me a fail and on my phone it says "Secure Check Fail: Recovery".
Please help make a root for my phone.
Thank you in advance:fingers-crossed:

If I were you I would not update because there are no ways to root the phone, at least, I have not found anyway. And the update is through kies 3. But if kies does not give you the update then that is great for all of us on this form. http://teamcspire.com/index.php?/to...s-for-return-to-stock-tarmd5-for-use-in-odin/
Go to this website and please extract the software from kies 3 so that all of us can use it to downgrade from 5.1.1 to 4.4.4. if that's the situation. Please reply if you run into any trouble because I have already done this for the firmware 5.1.1. and I know how to do it.
Thanks in advance
Ohhh thanks, i want to update my Grand Prime yo lollipop, then I try to get root

Trust me, nothing works. I have literally scanned the whole internet.
I want to root my note edge SM-N915G (which i recently updated to marshmallow (officially - using system auto update)) using CF auto root. I have been reading tutorials on the internet on how to use it. It says to download the right Files first from the autoroot.chainfire.eu site.
but the one for the SM-N915G (android 6.0.1) has a build number of MMB29M.N915GXXS1DPH3 while the one on my phone is MMB29M.N915GXXU1DPG6. is that ok?
they also have a warning about this:
UNLOCK BOOTLOADERS
If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device - with the exception of Nexus devices, which will usually automatically "OEM unlock" and wipe your data !
is it safe for me to root my phone, or i have to fulfill some prerequisites first?? thanks

The one that bricked my phone is when i use the cf auto root using the files on there site .. i think the problem is about locked bootloader on android m .. not sure though. . I will definitely try the method in the link you provided after my phone is fixed
