Best Custom Rom For SAMSUNG S7 EXYNOS (SM-G930FD) - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Battery life
Camera
Performance
Another Question:-
Is there any problem for rooting many times as we flash custom roms over again again?
I meant that efs would be lost (imei)
Is there any fi for that also
Please let me know if it safe for efs or not also

There is no such thing as a "best rom" I would suggest checking out the relevant custom roms forum for your specific device. Have a read about the roms and users reviews and select one which you think would be the best for you to use.
As for "efs" lost I'm not an expert but I've flashed many devices with cutom roms and never lost my imei, if you are not comfortable with flashing a rom then I suggest sticking to the stock rom, if you do decide to go ahead and flash a rom I suggest making a full backup in recovery custom recovery like "twrp" allow you to backup everything including the efs. I learnt from my mistake of not making a backup thinking everything will be smooth sailing I lost all my sentimental data. Always make a backup.

I hope you remember me and can help. My Nexus one is still running like a champ, however I currently using a Rooted HTC sensation 4g TMO. It was rooted with the revolution tool , S is off. When i rooted it I did a nandroid backup of original rom with the super user. I always like having that just in case anything goes wrong. All my save roms and some data just disappeared including my stock rom backup. When I partition my sd card I did save all info from my Sensation on my laptop desktop in a folder. I was able to find the backup of orignal stock rom however I am unable to install on the phone, its on the sd card but I dont know how to install it. I went to recovery mode, rom manager, es file explorer etc. I am lost here. can you help direct me on hwo to restore it or recommend somrthing to me. With insatabilty in some roms it always good to have original one.

[Q] Flashing, Recovery, why are they called such?

Beginner here.
I already know the difference between stock ROM/firmware and custom ROM, and why they're called such.
What I don't know is why overwriting the stock ROM with a custom ROM is called flashing, as is with flashing a recovery.
Regarding stock recovery and custom recovery, why is it called recovery? What exactly are we recovering? Also, is the recovery the cellphone equivalent of BIOS?
Thanks guys.
This maybe a bit of a geeky reply from an old timer, sort of along the reasons why we call it "rooting" a phone...
ROM stands for Read Only Memory and the original ones could NOT be written to or could only be written to once (fuse ROMs). Eventually we got EPROMs (Erasible Programmable Read Only Memory) that could be erased with an ultriviolet light and programmer (I still have one of those). Then came the EEPROMs (Electronically Erasible Programmable Read Only Memory) which were the forerunners to the modern flash ROM memory. They could be erased and reprogrammed without removing them from their circuilt. That evolved into the Flash ROMs, typcally NAND ROMs, which can be erased and reprogrammed (flashed) in blocks. So, flashing is simply the term for erasing those blocks of flash ROMs (typically several K at a whack) and programming it with the new data. Why the term "flashing" was chosen for that operation I believe had something to do with the way the NAND or NOR cells worked.
AFA Recovery goes, well, recovery is the inverse of backup. You back something up and, in the case of a disaster, you recover a device (computer, phone, whatever) by restoring that backup. The recovery ROMS have the ability to back up the device and restore (recover) the device. Makes sense.
thanks mhwarfield!

Stock p5113 ROM, anybody?

I am getting my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Wi-fi today. I would really like to install a custom ROM, but I am hesitant without the stock ROM to ODIN. I have bricked my Fascinate several times, and I would have been stuck without the stock ROM. However, it's more complicated because the ROM's I use for the Fascinate use an MTD filesystem. Is there a situation where I would be bricked without a way to restore to stock on the gtab, or does that sort of thing not happen? Anyway, is there a stock ROM available and will you link me?
not yet
from what i've read, there isn't a p5113 stock rom yet but time will give us one i am sure. in the meantime, the best we can do is make a backup in CWM before rooting and that would give you an unaltered stock ROM backup to restore from.

[Q] Help... Galaxy s3 i9300 cm9 suddenly huge 6gb Nandroid!!

Yesterday i updated to the at the time latest CM9 nightly, and im not sure if that is the cause but before then my backups were aroud the 1gb mark, then, when i tried to do another backup after updating it kept failing. when i restarted my phone the entire memory was full of the aborted backup.
I deleted stuff until the free space outweighed the used space so i could definitely fit whatever size the backup was and it worked but the result was 6gb!!
Is this a problem anyone else has had with or without cm9? as i said im not 100! sure that was the cause but it does seem likely.
If theres a better place to ask this question please let me know.
... Ive tried re flashing clockwork mod recovery and re installing rom manager. I also flashed the touch version with rom manager. None of that has made any difference so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated as im no expert.
Updating/Installing/Uninstalling ROM manager doesn't affect ClockworkMod recovery at ALL. ROM manager's sole purpose is to install Clockworkmod and help beginners with flashing ROMs. And if you have the money HELP you find ROMs as far as I can see.
As for your problem, it looks very weird, Reflashing a ROM would probably solve it, but you would love to make a backup first.
Try using Titanium backup to backup your apps and some information. Sync your contacts and calendar most importantly and make sure you backup everything. Then try flashing a different ROM. Remember the ROM is nightly for a reason; this could be the reason.
Cheers
well i think i've found what it was... its a known problem with recovery version 5.8.4.5... its backing up everything resulting in huge backups... the weird thing is its the same version ive been using for a few weeks and ive never had that problem before. Now i just have to work out how to replace this version with the older version.

[Q] Which new ROM should i go with?

Hey Guys, I'm currently running CM 10-20121126-NIGHTLY-evita and I wish to completely install a new ROM because i'm starting to have tons of problems. To begin, the camera app on the stock ROM worked alot more smooth and quicker and in some cases the quality was much better. There were also many instincts where my the apollo music player randomly crashes or show up the album names rather than the song title. In short, i've had a bad experience with this ROM for the past several months and wish to either return to the stock ROM, or any other ROMs that you guys suggest!
I've had a hard installing the ROM the first time so i've completely forgot how I would install a new ROM and everything! So which ones do you guys suggest I use which doesn't compromise performance with the camera, stable and overall a well rounded ROM?
Best/favourite ROM threads are against the rules, therefore we can't really answer. You'll have to look through the available ROMs, look at their features, and decide which one is going to suit you. Download a few and flash them for yourself, you'll find out pretty quick what you like and what you don't like.

Everyone has different preferences and expectations, so asking for a ROM suggestion is like going on an internet forum to ask people to decide for you what your favorite color is. Its also an insult to the devs that work so hard to bring us these ROMs, as suggesting one ROM, implies that the others are somehow inferior. Plus, performance and stability are not always a function of the ROM, but how you use it or have it setup. So again, what one person experiences, may not apply to you.
Just browse through the ROMs, pick one or a couple that look good to you, and flash away. This is what the rest of us do.
Flashing ROMs is very simple. Just read up, and it will come back to you. But in short:
1) Backup your app data with Titanium, if you wish. Backup other personal data as you wish.
2) Download or transfer ROM to the phone's SD
3) Reboot into recovery
4) Backup your current ROM, in case you decide to revert
5) Wipe Dalvik, cache, and factory reset in recovery (not in bootloader).
6) Flash the ROM
7) If hboot 1.14 or later, and S-On, then flash boot.img using fastboot
8) Reboot
9) Beer
